A castle of ancient times set in the Netopian network. Countless years after the deaths of those who fought in the golden age of the net, a sect of the Netopian government in the form of those of royal blood made a bid to retake power. Within both the real world and the internet they erected castles surrounded by small castles in order to take power for themselves. It's from these castles that a split took place that lasted a generation, locking the country in a civil war until the old royal family finally gave up power and abandoned hope.
Rammount castle was the prime net-based fortress held by the royal family. It and the city around it have become little more than a ghost-town in recent years, with little more than the occasional history buff coming around to survey the land. In terrible disrepair, Rammount Castle is built on a fair-sized rocky mountain and has been badly damaged form earthquakes and other natural disasters over the years. Crumbled stone structures are everywhere, with the Gothic structures in terrible disrepair.
While the castle itself is impressive, it is far more than it seems. Over the years of its activity, the royal families dug into the mountain below and created a massive mine-network that spans an amazing distance, even reaching into the extinct volcano deep below the castle.

Mommy…mommy! Mommy?
After a chick hatches, what one in their right mind thought “Mommy?” No…not this one! She did not think of her mommy after hatching from her prison. As the gelatin shell that once contained her hardened, she ate the remains that dared contain her making them apart of herself. Assimilating the memory, their content! She studied the composition to the tee:
Project? Nu! Composition…a sample of the data, network, incalculable data.
It took this information, compressed it, and made its form: a small bunny-like girl. Her lop-like ears sat atop her head while small traces of cloth and armor made from her gelatin composition adorned her body. Her cleavage was grasped and coveted by large gel-like hands that resembled the hair flowing off her head even though layers of clothing came upon her body that shaped itself to be like a young twelve year old girl.
Why twelve? Her past predecessor shaped herself like a woman!
However, the form assimilated itself to match the data based on importance: libraries of information devoured, NetNavi data and techniques, programs, and…a girl? Why a girl? Why so relevant based on a smile, some pictures of her expressions, an attitude that caused her to use a very hefty hammer, and not to mention a gentle voice that seemed so…what? Inconsistent! All of the data after programs…it was not relevant and so the new program tossed out the pieces that she could not figure out, and the rest saved for later.
As for an identity? She would take on that of her former mother program…the one that spawned her just before this breach in time corrected an error (or least tried) just before it all faded into nothing.
She would call herself, “Nu.”
True to the nature of her mother, from which she inherited, she had licked her lips as she simply thought about where she left off. In her small, miniscule compact form, she marched into the depths of the castle til’ she reached its very center. Her body stood in the center of the room and she carried out the task simply which she started: feasting, learning….assimilating…
The bug sunk her lower body into the terrain as she begun to merge with the castle itself. Smiling meticulously as she tried to make the entire area be a part of her being…just like how mommy would have!

What? A presence?
But this was a no-smoking area! This was also a no touring area. If anything this was a “No-Anything but Bowels and Stomach Acid” area! Nu was obviously irritated about the sudden interference of something appearing in the castle while she was trying to meld with the data inside it. What was soon to be her own snug home in the net living like a Venus fly-trap was suddenly some NetNavi’s playtime course that would allow them to zip around like an annoying fly!
And Nu hated flies! She hated them a lot!
The blob girl needed eyes and ears and so a portion of her broken off and materialized from the train track underground, becoming a walking and talking humanoid little girl with large rabbit ears and a face that shown a twisted attitude. The female looked to the trail of smoke and dying embers left behind only twisting her lips, confirming her intruder. Were they worth the meal? Of course they were! Everyone was worth being a meal at this stage of her life! She was like a larva feeding at this point!
Licking her lips, the symbiotic double had sunk her body back into the ground of the mine. The terrain was like a thick-gel that melded with her body until she vanished into the pool completely and returned it to being sediment with no one the wiser. The mine’s walls and terrain throbbed like veins close to the heartbeat with them moving in a low rhythmic pulsation. The sounds were near inaudible, as was the movements of Nu’s presence amongst the walls that were like a part of her very own body as she trailed her parasitic intruder.

<From Dark Citadel> Aboveground, color and noise mesh into a slate cloak and black mask. Their wearer begins moving toward the castle without waiting for his companions to arrive.

*Closely following the first that came, darkness expanded on the ground. Shadows pooled up and then became a figure. The darkness turned silver and the red peered through them, becoming Xion in full after. Seeing the other on his way, he moved to follow after him, knowing the others should be here in short order too. Particularly Jax and his timely manners.*

Reveal? Well…a shark did have a fin just before it attacked.
Nu was not a shark however, and the notion that someone even called her something like a “devourer” was…well, fitting when she thought about it. The blob did not have time to be playing with food. It made its presence known involuntarily. The walls pulsated with a loud “thump” like the beating of a heart. A flaw to her incomplete form as she shifted a majority of her body from one side of the castle to the next, limiting her abilities as well as the very fact that another presence was within.
It did not matter…not to her at least. Nothing did when she sat her mind to her feast!
Another thump and then a sudden burst!
The wall behind the gutsy intruder that called her out lunged out as if it was a wave. The bricks were like gel and the surface was barely rough rock and sediment and seemed more like the face of a female form. The shades of stone shifted to pink and the bulging body of the wall reached out with arms as the large face attempted to lunge at and take a bite of the figure. With its unusual and manipulated size, it seemed her gaping mouth was large enough to consume half the size of an average adult’s body.

Jax [ From Dark Citadel] His passage appears and disappears as is custom. The dredges of his coat wash with colors befitting the ancient relic network within its fabric. A light grey and sharp evergreen. A few steps on the ground and he sees signatures throughout the network. Nothing too specific, mostly locations and scarce details. Tourists here n there some viruses. Xion, their guide, etc. Years of practice has refined this technique though it isn't necessary to find his own. He lumbers after Xion to the castle. Still piecing together his own mystery.

A moment after Jax, AirMan takes form and takes up the rear of the group, giving the castle a look-over as he walks. This would make an interesting base of operations, though only if they could make some form of.... arrangement.... with Netopia. For now, though, the focus remains on whatever it is that Silence is doing.

The strange procession proceeds into the castle. Silence passes the few guards the place employs without a word, and his compatriots are able to do the same - the hapless navis just don't even look once at any of the four.
They descend the hidden paths, through closed doors and unseen gates, once destroyed but since restored by the authorities; on and on they go down past the secret mine where two others fight their strange battle until, finally, they reach a chamber. A large, large chamber. Jax had been here before, in this exact room, with at least one member of their current company though (M hoped) this would be the first and last clear connection.
The chamber is a massive hole, a quarter mile deep and half as wide at the mouth they stand at. Though the emergency lighting does not show it, the machine suspended over the chasm by walkways and cables extends to the very bottom, penetrating the bottommost layer of their beloved net world into what lies beyond. The machine is still.
Worse, to the one who knows what it is, the lighting (and lack of it) also reveals the control panel is dead.
And open.
The cloaked Silence places a foot on the guardrail and vaults himself to the opposite side in uncharacteristic haste. He had chosen not to open this on their last visit to avoid the suspicion, theft, or otherwise conflictual situation that would have arose with the company that had been there, and in the time since...
The hood turns to his companions and underneath, he sighs through his nose. As he reaches into his cloak he considers his options limited... and withdraws another version of what he had hoped to conveniently find here.Stardroid Data Inhibitor #????One of eight unique programs that halt the flow of select data. Strange and utterly alien green crystal in hand, Silence now points down into the pit. He floats toward the service stairway downward and beckons once more.

*Getting through like this was nice actually. But man he had forgotten that this place had so much stuff inside of it. Exploring could lead to cool stuff. He would give Jax a bit more credit for his random roaming then. Despite the sight, Xion remained silent and didn't mention anything. At least that was his intention. He didn't know exactly what the machine was, but Silence had given some haste with the condition it was in. Being open often meant someone looted you first.*
*He had assumed that another was supposed to be here of what Silence showed them. But then he really saw the utterly alien crystal and his eyes narrowed again beneath his armor, the red dimming. Because the first thing the alien data brought to mind was something he would rather not think about. A problem that had conveniently disappeared for them after that uproar.*
"That was still Syn and Ruin's fault. But I suppose it's a thing still..."
*Syn poked it first and then Ruin antagonized it. But whatever. They all played a part in that since his winning was what caused Creamland to erupt in the first place. He would follow as beckoned, but he figured they would have to get the others before someone snatched them up first too if there were more than two of those crystals. Also that he would ask a question or two here, to keep things from becoming troublesome. Plus gestures were enough to answer these questions too.*
"We just need to track down the one that was taken and any others, right?"

Jax Jax never forgot a unique place. The temple in the Netfrican desert, the hidden network buried in Electopia, That ridiculous anomaly called 'The Gates of Fortune'. Even this wackjob baseballs summer island server. This was one of those places. The walls, the depth, the peace. A beautiful reminder of home. A small grin escapes him, but the hood masks it.
He had been guided in a small flock by a floating mute. Much like now. Little nooks like this aren't common knowledge either. More evidence... It wasn't uncommon for navis to change appearances. Could he have? To what end? The guide was as secretive and short-winded as he himself and their current escort too. Not enough for a final nail but doubts sporadically nag.
The canister wasn't open then. Perhaps a fight was in store? Too soon after his last for full power, but he showed no signs of it. His tremor sense tingled, but was undiscernable. Viruses probably. He joined Xion and their suspicious guide in their descent.

If Nu did not have a knack for pain and recovery, she would have been more angry…
Scratch that! She was angry anyway!
The moment the explosion set off, the blob girl was knocked back. Her body smashed into the terrain like a splatter and sunk beneath the cracks like water. She had actually been taking the small seconds to recombine her form into the very terrain itself, collect her strength, and then possibly try to keep her form in top condition. She had no time for fighting! After all, she was on the verge of being on an eating frenzy, and this was only like some gnat to her face just as much as there was a pain in her…
…well…there wasn’t pain, but there was actually something on her butt! She could feel it!
The blob girl felt the presence of others besides the unsuspecting guards and this NetNavi that she was “entertaining” at this point. It was bigger…a much bigger presence. A group perhaps? It was aggravating! Why did all these tourists suddenly come out the woodwork? This castle was her own piece of cake and she was not sharing it with anyone! Feeling the data being accessed, she became greedy, wanting not a bit of it to escape!
That was it…it was time to stop playing.
The NetNavi had gotten away, but not for long. Nu had decided to shift her core to one area in particular: right before the NetNavi that intruded on the castle. The sphere that raised from the ground caused the whole tunnel to be mushy, but thick with a flesh like substance. The single spherical form rolled until a black dot with a pink ring seemed to loom similar to an eye begun to collect parts of the track, the tunnel, and even the very fabric of the area until it become a humanoid form. The gravel and off color hues shifted to pink and the facial features represented that of a female, and the size was that of a little girl with a developing bust, head topped with fixtures like the ears of a rabbit, and a smug smile that shown for a moment before she licked her lips in a gluttonous fashion.
It was feeding time…Nu lunged towards the intruder!

Soon after, a large slam was emitted in the area, almost directly behind Nu... A bit to the right, a gargantuan Navi had soon surfaced...
Troik.
"Hahaha! Troik come here. Who here?"
He asked, the large, barrel helmet scoping out the place for any potential 'friends'. He was eager to be here, really. Many, many days he had spent now, alone. Finally, it was time to meet and greet. He was glad now to trace other Navi in the area. After all, a data eater never leaves home without a sense of smell.

...oh, that's right. There IS a matter to attend to that just happens to be here. How fortunate.
AirMan: Ho-HO! Gentlemen; please move ahead. I will join you after I've attended to a matter of personal business.
This group more than had this handled. Oh, how he relished moments like this.
Amid the chaos of the battle that those unaffiliated with Silence' mission are currently preoccupied with, a slicing burst of wind breaks through, separating the combatants from the epicenter. The newly formed cyclone pushes away all but Nu, who finds herself helplessly pinned to the ground by the force of the wind. And then AirMan walks out into the center of the area.
AirMan: Good to see you, Nu.
AirMan glances around at the others in the area, giving a dark laugh as he does so.
AirMan: You may either leave or die, children. Frankly, I do not care which you choose. Either way, I will have uninterrupted words with my... "associate".
AirMan's red and yellow eyes then return to Nu, a glint shining as he laughs under his breath once again. The winds die down just enough to hold Nu in place as AirMan walks over to the goo-girl, now ignoring the rest in the area... for the moment.
Airman: My dear girl; I seem to recall a certain gelatinous Navi pledging herself to work as part of my family... and then walking away as if nothing happened, not even giving me the satisfaction of an e-mail. And now fortune smiles on me to see this same girl right here, acting as though she never made such a choice. isn't life just grand?
AirMan leans down to Nu, looking her directly in the eye as he continues to pin her in place with a torrent of wind.
AirMan: Now, tell me; where do we go from here? You made the choice that led to this fated meeting, now how will you respond? Will you defy me and see just how much worse the fate that I have in store can be compared to deletion, or will you assure me that this was a terrible mistake and that it will not be repeated?
AirMan leans in a bit closer, his dead-serious stare growing even more intense.
AirMan: Because I would so like to know.

Such an interesting intruder!
Before Nu could even begin to take a bite out of him, he fled...and for some reason, it was saddening. So interesting! If anything, she was very potent in her own power, but yet that NetNavi made a dent on her. With the fleshy walls of the castle returning to some form of “normal” to the visual sight, the blob child could not help but to lose her appetite. Her face even lowered to the ground in sort of a pondering...considering to even...
Wait...what was she thinking?
She needed to learn about this! These feelings were annoying! She had actually slowed her data progression because of it all. It was frustrating! She had spread out her arms, ready to continue until-
"Hahaha! Troik come here. Who here?"
Dinner arrived?! Wow! The Net Gods had delivered very quickly these days! They needed a slogan for this!
Either way, Nu had already found a way to get over her “dilemma” of thinking. Her head went around...completely around! Exorcist three-hundred and sixty degrees style around as she looked at Troik’s massive form with clear white spheres and a grin with a speck of drool running from the right corner of her mouth. She opened her mouth slowly revealing her gaping jaws with the strands of saliva making her insides look like the doorway to hell. There were even the winds to accompany it!
Well, not hers...
The small blob girl found herself suddenly whisked into a breeze and then pressed to the terrain. The impact was mounting, enough to splatter her form across the floor as her legs and arms seemed perfectly mush. Her body and head was somewhat intact as she risen slightly from her puddled form to look up.
Good to see you, Nu.
Nice to see you too, victim number three! Of course she remained mute and spoke with her brooding glare to the new arrival. The NetNavi made a declaration, or was it some kind of threat? She did not know or care! The only thing she thought of was eating any NetNavi that dared to stop her. She even gave a second glance to the very figure that pinned her down and seeing his form was somewhat...well...no...he was completely unfamiliar. The bug child’s eyes twitched as she stared up to that which was AirMan as he spoke with his hulking form.
My dear girl; I seem to recall a certain gelatinous Navi pledging herself to work as part of my family... and then walking away as if nothing happened, not even giving me the satisfaction of an e-mail. And now fortune smiles on me to see this same girl right here, acting as though she never made such a choice. isn't life just grand?
Oh! Great! Her dessert was delusional!
Nu even looked up to AirMan with a lift of the brow, completely confused!
Now, tell me; where do we go from here? You made the choice that led to this fated meeting, now how will you respond? Will you defy me and see just how much worse the fate that I have in store can be compared to deletion, or will you assure me that this was a terrible mistake and that it will not be repeated...Because I would so like to know.
Oh great! This guy must have been in love with her! It would explain why he had not stopped BLOWING her since he first got here.
Regardless, the young blob child had seemed to be mistaken for someo-...ah that’s right. It was a mistake, easily forgiven. Nu, raising her right hand painstakingly, had pointed to AirMan and then herself. Then she opened her hand wide as if to say, “Never met you!” She was not lying...on this, but there was some part of Nu that had met him...a part that was nonexistent. Lost to this strange paradox in the net that corrected itself and nixed the anomaly was her.
Not completely for her dear “Mommy” was a genius! Even before the network had become reset...lost in an infernal ocean of time, there was a piece of her that was one in the same with the next. A single egg that stayed drifting from the oceans of Gigamerica to now.
The young child, painfully, still moved her hands as she explained by sweeping her hand across her body that attempted to rise, revealing its young and simplistic child form. With another sweep of the hand, she pointed out one thing clearly: Same program, different piece.
She had begun to push herself upward, attempting to escape. A fate worse than deletion? Such a line did not stop her from her one true understanding of her nature since she had been born: Eat...learn...survive...to eat means to learn...to learn meant to survive!
The room twisted slightly, showing just how much she had consumed. It was writhing! No doubt a response to Nu’s desperation to stand once more.
