I am aware of the default that attacks/skills/navi's that revolve around the roll system are generally not allowed and frowned upon. But I also know there are many people who have had the same idea to use this site mechanic to try to make an interesting navi.
From what I remember this mechanic has been disallowed because it is too easily manipulated.
But I would like to find a denotation for the use of this system.
My idea is as follows:
Attack/Skill/Navi requires a dice roll 1. Post is made containing said attack/skill that needs a roll 2. Post is made immediately after containing the results and declaring the time.
this way if any mistakes were made and post 1 needs editing then post 2 will still show the original roll results.
Now admittedly this makes for a semi cluttered topic if everyone is
This suggestion has actually been made before and almost even gotten through.
But the issue isn't with the dice, it's with the player.
The dice themselves actually ARE practically immune to manipulation; modifying the post (whether to reroll, remove and then reroll, post multiple dice and remove the unwanted ones, etc) fails to effectively change your roll.
Deleting a post and then reposting with new dice may work, but post deletion isn't allowed in the battle field board last I checked. And modifying the dice code (or posting an image to resemble the dice) is easy to spot as well.
But what wet can't control is the user's reaction to the dice. "I rolled an unfavorable roll, so I'm going to modify my actions to account for that (or just elect not to even use the dice-action for now and remove it from my pay) since my opponent hasn't posted yet."
This was the point brought up against me when I made your very same suggestion some time ago. Quite frankly though, I'm still on the side of: "Yes, let's implement dice".
You'd have to get the rest of the staff to agree as well though for it to pass.
Honestly we have enough trouble balancing things that aren't random. Especially when we have people with complicated and roundabout abilities. We could use it in theory, but I feel like we'd rather just not deal with it on a large scale. If for whatever reason we (as the collective staff) give it the go ahead though. I'll be one of the many rushing to make stupid things.
Warrior: Heyo. She sure is, more than ever I might add. I'mm'a hit you up on discord in a bit to discuss some things, just giving you a heads up ahead of time when you get the random friend request for that lol
