We the staff have finally gotten on the same page concerning the problems and what needs to be done to move forward. There were some things that ultimately lead to small conflicts regarding where to go with the site.
System: We've established that the old stat-system was unbalanced. There aren't huge needs to re-do absolutely everything. We're working to make things more balanced, so that your navis are where your strategy shines. We're hoping to thin the power curve, so that every v-up isn't such an exponential change (10% stronger all the way around, EVERY TIME) and making things more equal so there isn't a "clear-cut" winning strategy.
The Problem: Some people thought that the problem was the system, saying that low-versions couldn't come in and do work. While that's true because the site died and the lowest level people grinded up. (Which is good when things slow, but it gets us to where we are) The real problem was, (and I'm not saying they did not have good reason to) the old staff didn't have the time to push story mode. Yeah, the v10+ didn't see much action, because once you hit a certain level of power, you become a driving force in the story. You lose that story, and they're nothing. This is a role-playing game, and the problem wasn't the GAME getting stale, because the GAME only got STALE because the ROLE-PLAYING died.
Solution: With a few balance adjustments, and a full story (Which is just around the corner, thanks to our bumble-encore) the site will be back in its glory.
Addendum: That isn't to say that there won't be creative input into shaping the MMM. A ton of things happened to this site in history because of people that weren't even staff. We're very keen on opening up the weekend battlefield changes and seeing what sticks. If the heavy majority of the site are adamant in including it in standard battles, who are we to deny that?
