Lasted longer than expected, didn't go quite as planned -- but I told myself to be ready for anything when I started it, and swore I would finish it.
And, indeed, The Tournament is Finished!
NOTE: All Entrant Rewards were doubled, as per the Special Condition of the first battle
NOTE2: Phen said MMM would cover the bill so... yeah. (34,500z ^_^b)
Thanks for playing everyone! And for future reference, please let me know if you did/didn't like anything about the Tournament -- feel free to go into detail.
I need feedback for future reference (although I may not be doing anything very soon).
Well played, all!

The sound of a computer monitor downloading a relatively small file echoed in the pitch-black room it was sitting. The radiance of the monitor was the only source of light in the room, and was bright enough to reveal nothing more than a portion of the desk it was set on and the back of the chair in front of it.
There was a white lab coat hanging on the back of the chair, just barely visible in the dark room.
*FLICK!*
A blinding light illuminated the room as a scientists walked in and hit the light switch. After a second or two, the blinding-ness of the light would be less severe to those whose eyes would adjust accordingly, and the rest of the room would become visible.
Nothing was really out of place, except for the self-downloaded file on the computer that the scientist was approaching. It was an average office -- it had a large desk covered with three computers; two that were outfitted with double-monitors, and then a single-monitor computer in the middle of those. There were three chairs lined up in front of the table -- one for each computer -- and one of the chairs (the middle chair) had the aforementioned white lab coat hanging on it.
There was a single printer at the far right end of the desk, which all three computers were attached to (strangely enough, nobody actually used the printer in this age, it was mostly there for looks, perhaps). Dark blue carpet and white walls gave the room a visually cool temperature as the young, brown-haired scientist approached the only active computer monitor to examine it.
????: " The payment has been transferred."
A young-looking, black-haired female navi appeared on the screen shortly after her voice startled the on-looking scientist. She could see him via the camera atop the monitor, and he could see her looking directly at him via the face of the monitor.
" That was... longer than expected."
Feint: " Not everything went according to plan. But we finished it."
'It' being the tournament that Feint had borrowed these servers for. She'd made her due payment for the server rental, and was about to leave before the young man spoke up some more.
" So is this going to be a regular thing?"
" ... What?"
" Tournaments are usually hosted on a monthly or yearly basis. Do you plan on renting this server aga-- No."
... Well that was rude. Mostly strange, though. Hosting a single tournament, and nothing more? Perhaps it costed too much...
" I got what I needed from it, so there's no point in getting any more."
Feint had been watching this tournament from this monitor very closely, and very carefully. Each contestant she fully analyzed and predicted -- and she was the one to make the rules for the tournament. The scientist was fully aware of her sharp observance over every entrant -- she was clearly doing this for a purpose.
" ... What exactly did you... get?"
She lost quite a bit of money, actually. In fact, she didn't really get anything, it seemed.
" Data."
Knowing how each Navi would fair when they had an equal chance at victory was vital for what she had planned next. Next, she would need to know how each of them would fair when they were outmatched by their opponent. Whether they would overcome or be struck down was still not entirely determinable.
" Thanks again for letting me borrow the server."
" Not a problem. We're always happy to lend aid to our customers. Please be sure to recommend us to anybody else who needs our services."
" I will."
" Thank you. Have a nice day, ma'am."
It was still strange to have to talk to a Navi as if they were a human. Oddly enough, this girl made the young man feel like he was talking to another human. Technology has made Navis incredibly advanced creatures.
As Feint's data left the monitor and its network, the scientist shut down his computer and left the room, flicking off the light-switch and shutting the door. He'd had to stay very late at work today for Feint to finish her work, but it was worth it for the pay.
What she had planned next was still a mystery in his mind.
Possibly in everyone's mind.
