An intertwining grasp, pulling his quickly degenerating body forward closer to her was the strange result of his actions. What a wonderful curiosity! She was going to engage him directly! Noting the almost instant blossom of shadows across her pale skin Trance felt a slight twinge of disdain at having marred something so flawless. Yet she didn't stop there, she had erected a barrier around the both of them in an attempt to stem the blizzard he had summoned to entrap the two of them. Whether she included him as a subtle kindness or an unintentional bi-product of the barrier he wasn't quite certain. But pondering on such possible niceties would only complicate the moral compass of this battle for Trance.
As the snow globe encapsulated them, momentarily giving them reprieve from the entire world, Trance couldn't help but understand that the warm light that illuminated their moment of shared solitude would no doubt be used against him. But for these fleeting moments, Trance let himself buy into the purity of the moment.
The glimmering warmth of the light, the refreshingly sharp chill of the air surrounding them, quiet breathing sending draconian whorls of mist spiraling between them. The intertwined grips, both clutching each other with the same intention at heart. Some would find it romantic, others infuriating, while still others would be confused by this poignant moment mid-battle. For Trance though, it was memorable for the purity of the moment.
"My apologies Trance..."
Her hand drew back and time resumed at double speed. The flare of light, the shimmer of raw power accumulated in her fist, it all stacked together, clicking together in his mind like pieces of the puzzle finally finding their orientation.
The devastating power of the punch met with more resistance than merely soft flesh and an ice encrusted barrier. In the split second that she drew back the fist, Trance's black bangle shivered with raw power as the black void it had absorbed earlier was released. In the small space between the two combatants the dark miasma flooded from his wrist and solidified mid-air. The rock cube she had shattered earlier had returned but this time enhanced by Trance's own modifications. A raw cube of glassy black obsidian sat between them, edges rounded from the reformation but the stone beneath comfortably molded to the minimal space in front of Trance. The fist imbued with the raw power of the wind managed to crack the first few layers, sending sheets of gem-like stone showering into the water below them. The daggers of barrier and ice fragments sent small spidery cracks across its surface but were completely deflected away from Trance. Pulling their still grasped hands towards the monolith of stone between them, the black bracelet touched only briefly but the reaction was instant as he released his grip on Megami.
The surface rippled on Megami's side before vicious spikes erupted at almost a full meter in length. Retracting just as quickly as they had appeared the center of the cube began to thin before finally a circular hole appeared in the cube large enough for a basketball to fit through comfortably. Placing his bracelet laden wrist in the center the golden one expanded to lock his hand in place. The creation of his beam cannon was complete. Already knowing the weight of the obsidian guard would all but nullify the massive recoil, Trance clenched his fist triggering an opaque beam of gold to rip through the cube and into whatever remain behind it.
The beam appeared to be a pure pillar of gold, uninterrupted except for streams of black that spread in an oily fashion across its surface. The raw energy from the gold beam was melting the rock cube he had housed it in for support, transferring only more energy to it as it sent oily streaks of molten stone along its path. Sheets of steam bubbled up instantly around the beam, water vapor flooding that small portion of the battlefield.
With the burst of charged energy rapidly diminishing, Trance found the strength to rotate the cannon like apparatus to one side ensuring that its area of attack was just that much wider. In the quiet moments after the violent roar of pulsing energy died away Trance replied to Megami's apology with a voice that carried through the carnage on the other side of the obsidian stone cube, "There are no amends to be made, his power and yours are one. This battle is a testament to your bond with him, and a demonstration of your relationship."
Addressing Dante now, who's face had taken a ruddy glow of stressed red, "Let's stop trying to mask it, I want them to see the real us as well." With a sudden exhalation, the red faded from his face, leaving only a light blush from his earlier exertions. The lines of stress and concentration that had marred his young features earlier all but wiped clean and a wholesome, friendly grin replaced the thin lipped tension he had held moments ago. "I was just about to say the same thing after hearing that!" Turning his attention to Xen, Dante introduced himself while the battle would continue to develop beneath them, "Xen! It's a pleasure to meet and battle with you! Xen is correct, right? I heard Megami mention your name a few times. My name is Dante." Giving a friendly wave from his screen, Dante glanced down every now and then to take note of the situation and what it would require.

[bgcolor=000055] “Your eyes are closed! You are sleeping?” _______________________________ This did not look good...
By the time Megami smashed her fist into the form before her, she had realized she had made a grave error. The light that parted the crumbling dome of ice had shone brightly, but yet there was another massive shadow upon her face. The toppling structure sat before her and seemed to almost seem to look down upon her with a foreboding form. The angelic NetNavi had already known that obviously the tide had been turned in battle once more with this surprise.
“He formed a RockCube to guard against Megami’s blow,” the violet haired NetOp speaking the obvious, “Megami! Get out of there!”
By the time Xenneth could cry out his command, Megami was late on the retreat. Megami spun around, body still weighted by the tides that were at her feet and sheets of floating frost; she had tried to kickoff, but this proved to be too much for her. Megami could see her own shadow stretching far as a bright light came from behind her. It felt like she was caught in a massive headlight that, this time, she could not escape. The energy engulfed her making her a simple silhouette in the luminesce.
“Megami-chan!”
There was floating vapors from boiled over water and ripped shreds of charred white and blue fabric. Megami’s body was limp upon the surface as her beautiful bundled chestnut brown hair was now wildly and heavy with moisture. It seemed like she was a dead angel floating on the disrupted currents as the wet terrain was lightened by the burning beam. It was a sad sight for Xenneth to see as he could not do anything but watch helplessly.
"There are no amends to be made, his power and yours are one. This battle is a testament to your bond with him, and a demonstration of your relationship."
Xenneth swallowed. He could not disagree more!
This was a pathetic display so far. It seemed that this NetNavi and Net Operator duo seemed to overpower them in the end. Xenneth had been madly downloading Battle Chips in order to compensate for his inexperience and Megami’s, and it had gotten them this far! Now, at this very moment, Megami seemed defeated as she sat afloat and he himself was not sure how to answer for it.
"Xen!” Xenneth jumped up in shock hearing the voice, ”It's a pleasure to meet and battle with you! Xen is correct, right? I heard Megami mention your name a few times. My name is Dante."
“Muh...uh...” He was as shy as ever, “Umm, it was nice meeting-”
“Ah! So, his name is Dane!” a voice cut in as Xenneth was startled, “Well then, I apologize once again, but for my apology Dante and Trance. We shall try harder...ugh..in our demonstration.”
“Ack! Cack!”Xenneth swallowed...and chocked this time! “Hoof! Gack!”
The violet haired boy was taken by surprise as he was cut off. Honestly, he was about to admit defeat seeing Megami like she was, but even now, she was different. Her posture was not what caught his attention, even though now, that once limp body was pushing itself up on skinny, delicate arms. Wildly wet hair had hung down as if they were a cascading water fall, and clothing were their wettest and baggiest even as the angelic figure stood up, whipped her head back tossing some of her wet hair on her shoulders and the rest sticking to the right side of her face; a face that retained a smile and confident expression as Megami turned and stared towards Trance.
She had “stubbornly” recovered.
“Come on, Xen-kun,” Megami cheered on, “We cannot let ourselves lose our tournament so easily.”
Megami was right, and Xernneth had been hesitating. He was not good at Net Battling, Virus busting, studying, with girls, or even with friends for that matter! However, Xenneth had been more intertwined in mess since he had met Megami, and that was more than enough motivation to carry him on, and more than enough strength than he knew what to do with. He had known very well he had a special power that Megami had made compatible with her “black box” programming, and that was what separated him from everyone else.
“Okay! Let’s go!”
”Forget the WALL! We’re bulldozing the foundation!" “FIRED UP!!!”The duo’s cry was more than a simple display of good lung health, but a jump start to Xenneth’s pulse. His right wrist was armed with a special P.E.T, one that specialized in a full synchronization by pulse and data. Xenneth’s strength literally became Megami’s in every way as the female NetNavi had lowered her posture to the terrain; her fingers reached into the depths and her body lowered as if she was about to dash forth. *FWOOSH...CRASH!!!*Before the crowd could comprehend what was happened, there was an impact that struck the RockCube’s form. There was a simple fissure that appear after the impact, and a draft that followed suit. Megami had used a full form tackle with her aura shielding her as it exploded outward on impact. Sure, the attack was reckless, but the aura was like an explosion that the RockCube would barely be able to act as a ground against. Megami appeared once more as she seemed to be floating aback after the impact of the RockCube. Her body rebounded off the surface from the first hit, and her face shown the pain she was in from using her scrawny little body as a projectile. However, she was not giving up, and once again, an aura coated her body once more as Megami spun while in mid-air, went dashing forth, and this time the speeding tackle would not only damage the RockCube, but devastate it and anything else in the area with the explosive aura to follow suit.[/blockquote] _______________________________ “You listening? Turning his screen towards Megami's righteous form lifting with a fiery resolution as indomitable as the wind and rain Dante spoke with a trace of apology in his voice, "It was not my intention to exclude you from my introductions, I didn't want to distract you though."
Trance's eyes just managed to clear the top of the rock cube and see the magnificent passion beginning to erupt in the duo before them. Strands of hair clinging with defiance to her confident features, she seemed so much more the goddess than ever before. There before him stood a navi who encompassed so much more than an individual detached from the reality around them and lost in a bond that pre-occupied her mind above all else. Now Megami was the breath of life, the awe-inspiring fire that ignites hearts and souls to accomplish great deeds. This was a navi that could lead you to the gates of hell and you'd follow. This was a navi who could bring you back from those very gates.
"FIRED UP!"
The air became palpable with the raw intensity of their resolution as she leaned forward into the water. Without knowing, Trance's face split into a gigantic grin. This was impressive. This was what he wanted to see! The next layer of their relationship, the next dimension that would make the duo before him infinitely more interesting!
The sudden impact was an impressive demonstration of the power behind the animalistic stance she had assumed. A giant crack appearing along the top of the cube as Trance dislodged his hand from the impromptu cannon assembly. Unfortunately the forward exploding aura managed to send a decent amount of shards through the hole in the cube to slice across his upper chest. Recoiling with arms in front of his face, Trance had only enough time to shimmy out of his nest between the previously frozen water at his back and the obsidian cube to his front before Megami's next explosive tackle sent shockwaves through the water and dangerous shrapnel in every direction around her point of impact.
Having been caught on his butt, Trance took the full brunt of the shrapnel as it drove shards of aura into his abdomen and thighs. Gathering his thoughts for a split second after the blinding wash of pain subsided, he brought both hands over the site of each hand sized shard. Working quickly before the steam and the dust from the pulverized cube fully dissipated, he vaporized the aura shards and converted them into pure plasma. Each one coming out with the searing sensation of blistering heat, he was effectively cauterizing the wounds while accumulating the latent energy remaining in her aura shards.
The moment he finished he sent half of the energy spiraling towards her last locations to distract her. Moving as fast as a normal baseball pitch, the brilliance of the plasma orb moving towards Megami would hopefully buy him the second he needed. Flashing to his feet, Trance dashed into the most obscure confines of the sheets of mist that were still trying to dissipate after his beam attack. Moving silently in the water, Trance finally caught a proper glimpse of Megami's form. Having moved to her 4 o'clock, Trance took the time to properly set himself up while the vapors drifted around him with comforting warmth.
Tearing the tattered remains of his sleeve from one arm, he wrapped the shoulder that had been completely pierced earlier. Cinching it tight, her rolled it back and forth to test the comfort of it. Nodding to himself in acceptance, he was hyper-aware of the weakness in that arm, but the cinched fabric at least forced tension into the underlying muscle so he could move the arm forwards with confidence in its strength.
Speechlessly Trance held up the raw plasma energy he had commandeered from Megami's own aura in one hand while the other grasped at the invisible hilt of a blade. While still watching the elegant Megami to verify they didn't lose her in this quickly dissipating mist, Dante murmured, "Custom Sword in...Download!". With a glint of silver, the outline of an enormous man-sized blade came into existence. Seeming to grow from an ivory white hilt, the silver framing completed its circuit before the inside filled with a milky white metal. As the entire blade stabilized, the weight increased until it was comfortable for Trance to hold with his strong arm. Inlaid in gold just above the hilt was an artistically traced '7' about the length of one's thumb. Without hesitation he brought the unseemly 6 foot by 1.5 foot blade upright before him. Admiring the craftsmanship that went into the creation of a Level 7 Custom Sword, his only reservation was on the absurd size of it. Bringing his other hand to rest against the blade, the plasma instantly spread across the surface, coating it and making it hum with unearthly energy.
Exhaling deeply to steady the slight tremor in his one arm, Trance's body began to tip forward before he erupted from his place in the veil of clouds. When he was still 2 meters away, Trance drew his blade back and began to send a devastating horizontal slash at Megami's midsection, knowing it would be the hardest place to avoid from and would maximize his swing area. With the razor edges of the blade rippling with raw plasma, the sword made a sound very similar to unzipping a jacket as it tore through the air. Unwieldy as this sword appeared, there was no doubt that it was devastatingly strong...

[bgcolor=000055] “This is my last chance; Then I shoot!” _______________________________ “Don’t worry,” Xenneth said with a gentle smile, “I’ll be fine.”
Whether it was assurance that Dante’s manners had not offended him at all, or whether the grimness of Megami’s situation in spite of the fact she had taken some major blows as of recent, the violet haired boy’s attitude had seemed to change so suddenly. His sporadic emotions were something that escaped him so many times over. It was almost like yesterday that he felt he was pathetic in most situations. However, whether one word or many, Megami had to have the magical ability of releasing a strength within him he had never seen.
His heart pumped making the numbers on his wrist-based P.E.T. system turn each pulsation into rhythmic data.
*THUMP-THUMP!*
Megami’s feet touched down into the waters...
*THUMP-THUMP!*
Her posture whipped upward as she searched for Trance’s form...
*THUMP-THUMP!*
She kicked off at lightning speed leaving nothing but parting waters...
Each kick of her feet, Megami sent out a push of aura from the soles of her wooden worn sandals. Moisture had weathered her clothing and fabrics, but not her spirit as she seemed intent on closing the distance between herself and Trance for some reason. It was met with resistance as Megami became aware of an astonishing counterattack. Her form had changed quickly: her feet slid across the flooring beneath the waters, her arms went up to guard against the incoming blisters of plasma, and her face remained unchanged as she wore a serious gaze; a brow furrowed as if she felt solemn sorrow for whomever she was fighting.
Megami dropped her guard...in more ways than one.
She could see that the silhouette in the light haze of mist had escaped her, and looked about her trying to locate Trance’s whereabouts. There was only one thing that she could see however, that being the glimmer behind her that was like a sparkle of the shiniest coin amongst the light. She turned around to catch sight of what she had seen, but not completely as it was moving along with her eyes, and soon her feet as she shuffled once more to try with all her might to give a dodge.
*THUMP-THUMP!*
Megami’s body spun around opposite to the tip of the blade...
*THUMP-THUMP!*
Her hands whipped out as if she was searching for balance...
*SLASH!!!*
She was struck!
Megami had breathed heavily as she retained her posture after being hit with the weapon. As the blade came slicing through her midsection narrowly, it had also sliced and parted the waves of mist that cluttered and obscured their vision. Xenneth breathed in deeply seeing the sight of Megami sliced at left just beneath her bosom, but she retained that pose as she had her legs spread and panting while one hand faced Trance in a defensive manner and the other outward as if looking for ground.
“I’ve never seen that sword before...”
DenTech Academy was famous for its lectures on rare battlechips and battle techniques. However, regardless of Xenneth seeing so many chips, he would not recognize a Custom Sword when he would see one for the first time. He had looked on, seeing it was coated with the same radiant Plasma energy that implied that perhaps it was infused with that signature plasma energy than built up energy.
“I cannot hold on too much longer, Xen-kun,” Megami’s bits of data drifting from her torso and into the air, escaping her data frame as she spoke. However, there was a smile upon her face as she stopped panting and breathed in deeply, “But regardless of that, I managed to get into position.”
“I can see that.” Megami had not spun for nothing, and Xenneth could see that.
He could see that the sword was too long to back away from, too wide to escape to the side, and neither of them had no resources left to assist in dodging. Xenneth had seen all of this, and so he was left with one of few options: to take advantage of it! Megami had spun as she took damage, but held out her arms to catch her balance and aim in two directions: a safe places into the stadium to not hit the audience and directly towards Trance.EXE who was in the path of her left palm that was gathering up a concentrated aura while Megami’s feet dug into the terrain and she constantly streamed a gentle burst of aura from the other hand.
“Divinity Nova!” Megami cried out her most overused and relied technique, but all of that was memory compared to the sound of what was like a roaring rocket blasting off and shooting into the stars.
The area around Megami was bright with light as she was trapped between a thrust that kept her in place and a powerful blast that fired towards Trance. The aura spread outwards like a roaring inferno as it fired forth, and would burn just as bad with how much energy was packed into it. After a while, Megami had begun to emit aura from her back, trying to split her concentration of her third energy emission like she was trying to look left, right, and up at the same time.
She closed her eyes, tightly, and tensed her body until her back burst with the blast of vapor that took the form of angelic wings, but was wild like the aura that came from her left hand that kept her in place.
“Divinity Super Nova!” Megami whipped both arms before her as she let out a second blast alongside of her first while the aura at her back dared to barely keep her in place. She slid slightly back, her arms started to wear as they were pushed back, but with all her strength, she ignored the pain and thrust both of her arms forth as the blast of aura energy swept before her in a wide arc devastating the field. _______________________________ “I’m ready to shoot!”

((OOC: I'm so tired and I feel this post deserves so much more, but I don't want to hold up Warrior's tourney any longer. So if this is the last turn, may I be greedy and request at least a single RP post afterward to wrap things up? If it's not the end, then thank goodness! Because I have time to redeem myself haha! I also won't use transfer next turn =D!))
As the enormous custom sword faded from existence after its successful strike, Trance noted the acceptance etched into both navi and operators face. The stance firm and perfectly aligned with his current position. Aura’s streaming simultaneously; Trance had a gut feeling this next attack would be utterly devastating if he were to take it like he had everything else this battle. Now more than ever he hoped that Dante was paying close attention because otherwise this entire game of setup until now would be put to waste. He had no doubt that Dante was more invested in this moment than himself though, as with any great tactician, the pride of his endgame building rapidly to crescendo was as consuming as any addiction. ”...???? slot in...Downl-”The words were lost in the unimaginable roar of raw power issuing forth from Megami, but had they been heard in whole, the most notable feature would have been that they were spoken in monotone. As though this moment had been suspected all along and this was just another sequence they had prepared for. Dantes eyes were completely glued to the screen and the action was more performed as a necessary distraction to ensure the desired outcome before his eyes...
For Trance the battlefield was a much different sight to behold! The currents of energy rippling the atmosphere around him as the water itself seemed to pulse with the raw strength of Megami’s accumulated power. In the fraction of a moment before the decimating beam swept the field wiping him clean, the sole thought he wondered was, ’Is this what the calm before a hurricane feels like?’ But this battle would not be finished by idle thoughts! No! Now was the time to strike! Now was the moment to cut short this attack!
Dashing forward as quickly as he could to close the distance, mid-step the cry for ”Divinity Nova” surrounding him with a comfortable reminder of the timid navi who had so shyly promised to help him put on a good show. Now that very same navi was giving him the battle of a lifetime, one that would never be forgotten for the intricacy and depth of each layer they had laid bare to one another.
Two feet planted firmly, legs bent in anticipation to leap forward at Megami, he was engulfed instantly. His body became a silhouette, and then an ashen shadow as the aura energy raged over him. Dante’s eyebrows nit tightly together as the brightness of the arena took on an all-together blinding intensity with Megami’s Divinity Nova. His eyes didn’t have time to adjust before the words ’-uper Nova!” drifted through the din and the intensity all but doubled and his screen became nothing but a wash of white...
As the intensity of the light from his screen reached its pinnacle, Dante’s eyes had not averted from the position he had last seen Trance engulfed. Blinding as the light was, he had also not blinked for the duration of the attack. Slowly and purposefully Dante spoke with exceeding care, “Trance. It’s time.” The air hummed with his affirmation. The battlefield raw with Megami’s sheer power, and his words a single thread of sanity in the chaos below, intended only for Trances ears. They were the first warning that he should wrap this puzzle up before he risked the entire game.
The power ebbed. It began to descend into its decrescendo and finally the last trickling pulses of the Nova series attacks faded. What remained was...purity. A battlefield that had become scarred by traded blows and with scabs of icy sheets was now pristine. Almost all of the water that had flooded the strangely floored battlefield had been evaporated with Megami’s Divinity Super Nova and the entirety had been scoured more thoroughly than any army of repair navi’s could have achieved. Granted the floor and walls had at least an inch shaved off at any given location, the observations still held. The only exception to this was the burnished metal mirror that was erected before Trance. The mirrored surface was large enough to cover his entire body; the scorch marks formed a perfect teardrop shape behind the mirror coming mere millimeters from the edges of his body. Lighter scorch marks nested inside the more intense scorches where energy had overflowed the edges of the shield tearing through Trances extremities. Crackling with the magnificent aura emblazoned energy, Trance walked out from behind the upright shield and tapped it lightly with his knuckle. Body visibly torn apart, his arms and legs bleeding minute streams of data with every movement he made, Trance was silent as he drew two scimitars from the bracelets on his arm. One hand acquiring a wickedly curved silver blade, with black accents along the cutting edge and hilt wrappings, while the other drew a viciously serrated black scimitar with the finest gold tracery running up the length of the blade, Trance began to run forward, closing the distance between the two combatants.
Roaring in tribute to the beauty of their exchange, ”Magnificent! Finish this!”, Trance lunged the last few feet as the still upright shield grew dim for a moment. His figure still in mid-jump as the effects of the strangely shaped mirror-like shield made themselves apparent. Brilliant light illuminated Trance’s back, turning his body into nothing more than a silhouette, a shadowed figure caught between headlights. Letting his war cry carry through the battlefield, Trance dropped both blades with deadly accuracy across Megami’s front before spinning around her side and transferring all the momentum into a single lethal strike that tore diagonally from neck to heel across her back. Wasting no time he made a quick kick to the back of the leg he had just attempted to shred with the serrated black blade to set her off balance before diving as far to the left as he could. Trying with all his remaining strength he wanted no part of the incoming light. Flooding the area once more, a mere fragmented memory of Megamis own might, the mirrored shield reflected the gathered energy in a concentrated beam. Only about 2 meters in diameter, the oval beam that issued from it held every ounce of passion and resolution that Megami had put into defeating her opponent and proving the worth of their bond.

Iron Armor would m00t Haste, I'm afraid >.o
While that would work fine for Ocean Stage/2nd Burst Turn, Iron Armor says it takes all Attacks Slots -- base or gained. It's literally just a tool for surviving a 1-turn Burst, and nothing really more xD

((OOC: What a curious convention. Alas modifications have been made and the RP adjusted accordingly. It's ready whenever you are Div =).))

((You guys are free to RP after the battle has statistically concluded, for as long as you'd like. Also, just a reminder Div -- that Counter is not Unavoidable. It is "Unaimed", meaning it has the same qualities as an Attack with no aimers.
While I'm too busy to check whether or not that will make a difference for you, I figured it'd at least be relevant to let you know, just incase you didn't already xD ))

If they are, then that means we'd both need two uses on them right because I did that for my Battle Chips in order to dodge one attack while this Metal Guard with only one use just caught me off guard.))

((Ocean Stage is only applied against Dodges -- not any other type of Avoid.
"First Dodge of every turn costs 2 Skill Uses", is what the Panels say. So Shields/Objects/etc would only cost their regular 1 Use.
Since BattleChips do count as Skill Uses, it would cost 2 Uses of a Dodging Chip instead of 1, according to Ocean Stage. But as I said, Shield/Object/etc chips and skills are unaffected by the stage.))
((EDIT: On that note, your Shield still has 1 Use. I must have missed that before (the fact that you spent 2 uses for it) ))

[bgcolor=000055] “This is my last chance; Then she shoots!” _______________________________ It was bright...brighter than what Xenneth and Megami were use to.
“This is strange...” Megami had thought as she stood her ground. Her soles dug into the terrain, her eyes narrowed to endure the essence of aura that was become so thick that it was like an open inferno, and her back blowing out energy like wings pushed her forth like a rocket. Her hands were brimming with the pushing aura, but yet, they started to do something that was not common when she used this attack.
“My hands...” Megami said, “...they’re burning!”
The aura that was pressing outward was forcing back and brushing across Megami’s hands. She could see some of the data ripping from her hands like flesh being burnt from the skin. In a way, she was simmering, her teeth cringed narrowly while she kept pushing out the aura in massive bursts. It was not that she was too stubborn to stop, but rather she could not! Her emotions were her power, and that was how the aura reacted! Even now, she they were a powerful release like words one could not take back in the heat of an argument.
“What’s going on?!”
Xenneth had to figure out what was wrong. The stadium supplied excellent change of perspective to see the battle, and so he juggled the camera view for his P.E.T. until the Net Operator could see the NetNavis from an overhead view from the left in an audience perspective. Of course, Megami was holding her ground with her attack, but yet, on her opponent’s side of the field, there was a part in the wave of aura that was indescribable. It was like an unstoppable river had met a jutting rock in its path.
“What is that?!” Xenneth had thought as he looked on seeing the guard Trance put up, and the effect it was having on the aura, “That wave of aura is being thrown off balance by that shield. It’s going back towards Megami and circulating in place as she tries to push out. That’s why her hands are being burned!”
Xenneth flipped his hands as he searched for a copy of one of his Battle Chips. It had only taken a press in order to circulate a barrier around Megami as the rebounding inferno of aura that raced across her shields, thus protecting her for a moment.
“Thank you, Xen-kun,” Megami spoke lowly, “I was careless.”
Before Xenneth could even respond, it was too late. Trance had already began to close in on Megami as her aura begun to subside. Her eyes narrowed as she lifted her hands readily, attempting to intercept the next attack even as the relentless NetNavi closed in. Her stance, even though strong, was a bluff, as Megami had a strong expression but conflicting thoughts of uncertainty if she could withstand the next attack. She leapt backwards attempting to dodge, but it was to no avail. Her body was torn by the first strike and the second meeting the tips of her nails. It was almost puzzling, at least if Trance would have noticed from a single solid pixel of a square, a shield was forming as it’s oval shaped begun to obscure Trance’s view completely from Megami.
“Leave the next part to me, Xen-kun!”
Megami had curled her fingers into fists. The vapors of aura gathered into her palms at that last moment; the bulbs of light exploded outwards and covered her hands as she had quickly lunged through the shields backside, shattering it as her hand met Trance’s blade and batted it aside.
It was official, this last point in their battle would come down to melee combat.
Megami did not have a lot of energy left, but it showed in marks and bruises, but not in her spirit. Her left foot pressed forth as she kicked up some of the water in a powerful wave that matched her lunge forth. Her right hand, solidified by the aura, had thrust forth attempting to rip directly into the right side of his chest. Even if it would mess, or somehow become blocked or he evaded, Megami spun her body as she brought her left arm around aiming to smash her hand into the cheek of Trance.
It seemed the battle was on! _______________________________ “I’m ready to shoot!”

Feeling the blade make contact mid-swipe initially but meet with steadfast resistance on the second strike and her ease of handling the rebounding energy of her own auras Trance's mind ticked off two more marks. Like a chess player who carefully contemplates the worth and network of possibilities laid out before them, in that instant Trance saw the different outcomes remaining. On a subconscious level this probably registered but consciously Trance was enamored by the battle before him. Seeing the graceful Megami retreat behind a large mettaur shaped shield, he couldn't help but let a gentle smile flicker over his lips.
But the moment was short lived. With the blaze of passion that she had stoked to a high intensity throughout the battle, she burst through her own shield and managed to bat his own defensively positioned blades aside. Shattering one with the sheer energy flickering in her hand, his eyes widened a fraction in surprise as he was left completely....prepared.
The wave erupting from beneath, the warrior goddess from the front, a field of scoured desolation to his back, Trance saw no worth in wavering from his place for even an millimeter. Both feet already spread into a defensive stance, by now the vicious tide had reached him and seconds later aura emblazoned fist would follow. As torrent of water raged over him, he remained perfectly upright, his entire body darkening as though he had become a shadow of his former self; Megami's strike hit true. Yet there was no yield. If she were to withdraw her fist before the next instant she would notice small fragments of shadowy obsidian and smokey quartz crumble away from the impact. His final skill, the summoning of a rock cube had been adequately processed by his bracelets to provide a humanoid mold of his front nearly two feet thick.
But he left no room for hesitation, no room for thought and with precisely timed movements he thrust the crumbling rock form straight towards Megami, giving it momentum from his own energy reserves, the frontal mold crackled with plasma as it rocketed forward.
Dropping down into a spider-like position, he slid along the slight sheen of surface water remaining to get a different angle from the rock cube and dashed towards Megami from her 10 o'clock. Raising the fist adorned with his bracelets, data had begun to freely stream off his extremities now. Like streamers tracing his every movement Trance's time was drawing to a close. He had begun this battle encouraging and toying with crowds for entertainment value, but now...above all, this was about respect. About the perfect unity of two navis, two battlers, two relationships. Dante had provided for him, silently encouraging the tactical advances that they had become so adept at performing together. With thoughts and actions unified throughout the battle, even when Trance was forced to take damage, they would demonstrate the power of their relationship that transcends mere navi/operator parameters.
This resolve glinting in his eyes, he reached Megami's body just after the rock-cube-like mold would have impacted and stopped his fist so that it was right over her sternum but not yet touching her. Crackling with energy, bracelets circulating with invisible orbits along his forearm, his eyes met Megami's before he could land the strike.
And there he stood.
If she were to move he'd easily discharge the pent-up plasma energy crackling along the orbits his bracelets traced, allowing the battle to continue. But if his calculations were correct this next strike represented the end. He didn't want to force a log-out for Megami yet and forever lose contact. He was intrigued by her and had parting words that would be lost in the rapid departure of a log-out. He also felt he owed her a more respectful departure than a beat-em-up KO style finish. Unfortunately the more practical side of his mind also understood the necessity of instant action should she provide any movement or defensive techniques outside his expectations.
With dichromatic eyes fixated on her own, the message was clear to all. Your Move.
