Jax
A week later a short distance from Riclice a large oval sized portal of purple and black etched its way into being. From its murky embrace emerged Jax, his hood up as always to mask his eyes leaving only his jaw for show.
The purple and gold colors that churned through the fabric at the base of his trench coat began to morph and gradually become a dull brown. Onlookers would have to strain to see though, as it barely stood out against his black coat.
With only a sweep of his arm the debris in the area in front of Riclice and Jax began to sink into the ground. Much to the surprise of the repair workers who were up until then diligently working to remove the rubble. This action would, within minutes, remove the debris entirely and reveal what all lay beneath.

The giant navi's action had forced the debris to melt into the ground and the slate was indeed before long completely wiped clean. Beneath the rubble lay not what the prior battles attendants would like. No, beneath the rubble was just a battle worn floor and a small crater with no occupants. It would seem the creature that had dwelt within the rubble had vanished. But by who, or how, remained a mystery unsolved.

“An’ ya want me to check it out, eh?” Gunman.EXE asked, looking at the transmitted image of his operator. Gunman was standing roughly at attention, his hands behind his back in proper military fashion, mostly out of respect for the uniform his operator wore.
The man on the other side of the transmission nodded. His hair was cut short, black as midnight, some said. Considering Gunman had never seen a night sky in the real world before, though, he could never be too sure if the description was accurate. Clean shaven and remarkably handsome, Captain Griswold seemed to be just as stumped about the situation as Gunman was. “That’s correct. Creamland was trying going through some reconstruction efforts, only for a situation with an unknown entity to arise. According to reports, though, there’s very little to go off of as far as evidence. We haven’t had too much luck contacting those involved, for whatever reason. That’s why I’d rather have you go there personally and check the situation out. Apparently, Creamland has been trying to rebuild after the incident as well as try to dig up any evidence as to what had happened down there.”
Gunman nodded with military precision and control. “You got it, sir,” the Network Navigator said, the transmission ending with a dismissive statement from the Captain. With that, Gunman seemed to visibly relax a little bit, shouldering his massive gattling gun over his back. “Creamland, eh? ‘aven’t been there b’fore,” he said to himself before moving out towards his destination.
It did not take long to figure out directions towards the particular gate connection he needed, his form teleporting into the indicated area after some time of exploring and asking around for directions. Typically, such areas like these were at least restricted to civilian Navigators, but in this case, with his special authority from the military, it was good enough to get through the rudimentary permission challenges.
When Gunman arrived, he saw the scene before him, rubble melting away into the ground, revealing a battle worn floor and a crater, roughly a hundred feet across. From the looks of the rubble as it melted away—as well taking a cursory glance up and around—the place had gone through hell or worse, plenty of damage still actually being taken accounted for.
Gunman could not help but whistle low, impressed with the destruction that had apparently occurred. “Looks like I missed quite the fight,” he commented to himself aloud, before he noticed a hooded and masked figure that was possibly investigating the area as well. He looked strange—and as far as Gunman knew, he wasn’t exactly an official—so Gunman turned his gaze away from the Navigator and kept looking around the place.
“Might as well take a look around…” He said, moving around the area, hopefully trying to examine the area for any clues as to what had happened.

Riclice's eyes fell upon the mysterious hooded figure as he entered the area, unsure if this was another enemy or not. He wasn't fully sure, but when he removed the rubble that at least helped matters...
...unfortunately,the rubble's removal didn't reveal anything to him,nor anyone in the area...
'Hm...well,not the result I would've preferred. But good enough,I suppose.' Riclice thought to himself, walking toward the tall navi, but staying a good feet away to give him breathing room.
"Hey,thanks for helping remove that rubble,I think the workers here appreciate it." the young swordsman said with a grin.
"I'm Riclice. Mind if I ask who you are...?" he stated inquisitively.
Riclice noticed someone else who had entered the area as well and he watched him wander around the area a bit. The aquatic navi wondered how many others would probably turn up here as well.
"Seems like this Reconstruction site is getting more and more attention. Maybe it can actually get finished this time..." Riclice said aloud. He wasn't talking directly to anyone though.

Jax
Jax looked down at that swordsman, acknowledging the question with that action alone. The hooded navi returned his shrouded gaze to the large crater. The source that had led Jax here mentioned the creature's corpse should lay beneath the rubble... Could it have been wrong? Unlikely. More reasonable to assume the beast had recovered and escaped unseen... however unlikely given the 24/7 clean up crew.
Continuing to ignore Riclice's question Jax started walking into the large pit before the duo. With each step Jax utilized his mastery over the digital earth to scan the immediate area for some hidden means the creature might have used to escape.

Gunman continued to look around the area, searching for some clues as to what happened. The crater was, of course, painfully obvious, but it was the little things that mattered the most with such scenes. Small bits of clues would often tell more than the after effect of an explosion. At that moment, however, one of the other Navi's mentioned something about the reconstruction efforts being finished this time around, causing the military navigator to look that way.
"Aye, that'd be a good start," hr said aloud. "But until this 'ere scene can be analyzed and the perpetrator caught, ain't a lot to be done fer it at the moment," he said, walking towards the Navi. "Name's Gunman. Been sent 'ere to look into wha' 'appened. Know anythin'?"

"I'm Riclice. Nice to meet you."
He greeted the newcomer, proceeding to watch the hooded figure scan the crater. The swordsman then brought a hand to his chin, thoughtfully.
"First off,a gel-like creature attacked this area and even assimilated itself into a part of the structure. It was quite a confrontation, but in the end a navi appeared, snatched away the creature's darkchip and with it,its power, leaving the creature in a type of recovery state..."
Riclice paused as he continued replaying the event in his mind, continuing on.
"There was some opposition from another navi there as well - even though it partially helped - but the main target was the gel-like creature. As the final move to end it all,a fiery female navi self-destructed,while the rest of us who were remaining made our escape from the building's interior. And that brings us to where we are now..."
Riclice nodded to himself, feeling that was a decent summary of the none-too-distant encounter.

The pulsing echo of Jax's silent scans did not go unanswered. The response was one he wouldn't expect, however, as instead of detecting a tunnel or some other means of escape it detected a life form near the center of the crater. It was small, possibly a small program caught in the cross-fire of the previous battle. Jax wouldn't be certain until he actually found it.

Jax
Without any visual signal given Jax adjusted his leisure patrol of the inner crater to the direct center. He knelt down, resting his left arm on his left knee, while his right hand met open palm with the scarred dirt.
Without actually moving his hand the dirt began to part, attempting to reveal what time would keep secret from the world.

Gunman nodded to Riclice. “Good on ya,” He said before listening to Riclice’s explanation. Gunman, even though he lacked a face to be emotional with, still seemed to recoil a little at the explanation. “Gel-like, eh? Sounds like n’ a virus if’n I ever heard’a one,” He said, trying to take in what the fellow Navigator was saying. “Dark Chip though… tha’ cannae be good,” he said with a worried sound to his voice. “’N’ another Navi attackin’? Huh… Guess that’n ‘xplains tha crater,” he said, looking towards where said crater was, as well as the hooded Navi.
“Sounds like I missed a roight proper fight,” he mused to himself before shaking his head. “Thankee for yer info. If’n one virus with a dark chip did this ‘ere, I’ll need to track ‘er down n’ put a stop ter it,” He said with a nod. “N’ything else?”

"Hmmm...I don't think there's anything else. But that cryptic navi who phased through the walls and left immediately may pop-up somewhere again to steal someone's power..."
He brought a finger to the side of his head as he thought about what Gunman had said about the 'creature'...
"To tell you the truth...someone like that could be closer to being a navi,I think...unless it was meant to be some kind of hybrid..."
Riclice didn't know for sure, but he considered it possible than their enemy could have been more navi than viral...despite its attributes...

His unorthodox but effective digging methods unearthed not a program, or anything of the sort, but a limb maybe a foot long in length. A pale tendril most likely from the beast that had battle a week prior. Despite all the chaos of the battle and the fiery explosion that ripped the castle walls asunder, the tentacle was in prime condition. It wriggled uncontrollably every minute or so giving the obvious sign it was still functioning even without the rest of the body.

Jax
Without recoil of disgust or shock of discovery Jax took the strange limb into his right hand and held it up high as to get a better look of it. Common sense would dictate that this be the creature he was to find, or at least part of it. However, it's never a bane to be sure. The giant navi turned and hiked up and out of the colossal ditch and up to the two chatting navis.
He merely held up the seizing tentacle before the two and let it dangle. Hoping that one would recognize what it was exactly.

Gunman nodded to Riclice all the same. “Understood, “ He said, taking it all in as much as he could. “’Guess we migh’ as well keep an eye out, eh?” he said, mostly in reference to the cryptic navi and the possible hybrid. “Why ‘ere, though? Dunna make a ‘ole lotta sense,” Gunman said, looking around at the wreckage and destruction around. “If it were a virus, it’d make sense to hit a place like dis ‘ere,” he said, gesturing towards the wreckage. “But a Navi? Ain’t nothin’ ‘ere of interest, I reckon.”
At that moment, the hooded Navi approached with what appeared to be some kind of tentacle. Gunman recoiled a little at its sight, surprised to see something like that here. “Oie, where’d ya find that, eh?” He asked before leaning in to look at it. “Looks like a virus remnant ta’ me, lads,” he said, concern in his voice.

Riclice didn't like the looks of this...
Even though he didn't remember the blob-creature having any tentacles,he knew it had to be linked to either one of the two creatures that was in the area before.
"...I've got a bad feeling about this. This really might be a part of one of the two creatures that we thought was obliterated in that explosion. We need to destroy this tentacle immediately, before it either finds a way back to whatever it's a part of...or before it damages the area itself..." he said to Gunman and the silent figure who now held onto the tentacle.
The fact that the tentacle was still squirming on its own led Riclice to believe one of the creatures from before might have still been alive somehow.
'I really hope not...' Riclice thought to himself. It would be amazing if one of their enemies did survive that supernova of a blast...amazing bad for them, that is.
