The course of time has done little to purify the internet hole known as 'Undernet'.
Precariously hung pathways weave about black spires which in turn loom above dark plains; the hush of static hangs in the background and leaves everything above the horizon looking like a permanently overcast sky-scape that is traveling faster than is comprehensible. A permanent glow from long forgotten power sources gives muted coloration to every panel and leaves one feeling as though there is something fearfully powerful lurking in these areas.
This is the Undernet: The pit of decrepit gangs and dank darkness and worthless filth, where the most horrible things go to die in pathetic attempts to gain unlimited power. This is where the most powerful beings clash for the security of separation it brings from the rest of the net - long ago this place served as a cell to store powerful programs before its future denizens found it and settled away from society. The lawlessness bred a dark dystopia all its own, and from here we witness all of the most demonic navis pass into the currents of their futures...

Shadow emerged in the edge of the undernet, the far edges of the network that were, using the term lightly, 'safest'. Truly there was no safe area in the undernet, but then again, that was not what Shadow had come here for.
Taking a few steps forward, he inhales deeply, holding his breath for a moment before exhaling. Relishing the atmosphere down here...how he had missed it. Briefly he paused to contemplate what exactly he was going to do first. Explore at the least, see what has changed if anything over the years...there was bound to be some changes he figured.
For now though. He simply stood there and took it all in...a place he felt at home in. No worries about officials or light mongers. Just, chaos, and power...

[bgcolor=black] Then, without warning or signal, a common darkloid lunged at him from the shadows. Mid-air he impaled his arm with a darkchip and turned it into a vividly purple sword. Just as he reached Shadow the freshly formed blade came down, intent on decapitating the heavily armored navi.

“Curiosity is just so arousing at times;” _______________________________ This was a different change of pace...
The creeping bits of the slimy texture had begun to assimilate themselves from the edges of the Net Area where the portal had sat. The small blots of pink had begun to form clumps until from the liquid puddle formed the familiar body of the pink estranged program that had restored her posture to its former glory. Her head tossed back as the strands of hair on her head had been more feathery and flowing then heavy and lump judging from what the body formed from. However, the physics of this alien program was not even comprehensible in any way of logic.
Her big blue eyes slid to the shoulder that faced the golden trimmed NetNavi who was taking in the area. She seemed very wayward with the unusual program just as he was to her. If anything, they just happen to be going in the same direction at the same time and ended up in the same place rather than “bonded” at all. It was a strange and peculiar relationship nonetheless; prey had become a simple interest in the eyes of Nu whom had been hesitant to take action and devour him as instinct had demanded. Maybe that little girl was growing on her?
Hardly...
Nevertheless, Nu had stepped from behind the NetNavi and put her hands on her hips. Her buxom bosom had risen with the breath she had taken from the Net Area. It was unusual, more depressed but also just as cryptic. She was not sure where the darkness of the area began with the background seeming like some sort of deep static, and where the pieces of the actual network began with black tiles that glowed with a dark red giving it a crimson color scheme. It felt as foreboding as the doorway even implied it to be.
Saying nothing more, Nu had stepped to the shoulder view of the NetNavi with a very dull face. Her lips pressed and eyes seemed to show some boredom, but the only thing that moved was the right hand from her hip as she pointed her index finger towards the NetNavi.
As usual, her conversation was wordless, but by the expression and gesture, it seemed almost as if she was asking, “Now what?”
However, even that was cut short...
Just as Nu had gestured towards Shadow, that very same hand opened with eyes that had become wide and aware of danger. She had lashed it forth, a small little hand becoming as large as the upper body of the NetNavi it intended to shoved out of the way while caring less for the damage the blob-girl would take. Another hand had lashed forth intending to make a sound counterattack after the other making a rescue. The hand clinched into a fist that was massive and could no doubt send the darkloid flying aback if it made impact. [bgcolor=black] Just as the blade was going to find home in the navis neck Shadow was shoved aside by Nu's save. The darkloid landed in a crouched stance and the blade dispersed. However before he could rise and turn to meet the savior a giant fist came down upon him, crushing the darkloid entirely, scattering his data to the winds with his final words being nothing more than a grunt.

Shadow been preocupied with looking over the network from their vantage point, and sensed the incoming attack later then he would have admitted to anyone, luckily his new pet, minion, tag along, what ever she was, decided it was a good idea to shove him away from the dark blade.
The shove being unexpected, and forcing more pressure on to his bad leg, caused his to stumble and fall to his knees, pain shooting through his leg. He bit back a curse and turned to see the blob girl smash the assailent with a large fist, seeming to delete the heelnavi in one blow.
This sparked two different thoughts simaltaniously. Either she was fairly powerful herself, and he was lucky she has seemed to be interested in following him for now. Or she shoved him away from a weakling that he would have had no problems dealing with the blow, even if it had connected. Thus making him seem like the weak one.
He didn't exactly care for either one, as he did not want to be seen 'needing help' to survive. He quickly climbed back to his feet, and turned to where the remaining data was drifting away, and where Nu still stood.
"..." He stared silently, first at her, then at where the navi had been. His spat on the ground where some of the stray data had yet to be swept away. Showing his disgust for such a weakling to dare try such a stunt. He was not sure what to say, if anything. Most navi's would thank someone for doing such a thing. But he never would do so, let alone in the undernet of all places. And yet he held back his tongue for once. He wanted to tell her off, that he didn't need her help...but at the same time, two sets of eyes were better then one down here.
'Hmph...may as well take advantage of the situation' he thought to himself. If she was willing to help him like that, he wouldn't drive her off. Instead he nodded to her, and said, "...Good eye." Probably the closest thing to a thanks, he would ever get.
Turned towards the pathway before them, he ignited his arm blade, the blue hued blade, not wanting to be unprepared for another ambush if anyone was foolish enough to try again. He slowly began walking deeper into the area, limping slightly as he favored his still recovering leg.
He knew there that there was at one time the darkloid ridden city, Hacker N somewhere down here. It wouldn't hurt to look for it, he figured. If nothing else, to look into adding to his small collection of dark chips. Unfortunately it would likely take some time locating it, as it would unlikely be anywhere near the outskirts of the area. At least it wouldn't be a dull trip he mused to him self, alert now for any farther attacks.

“Curiosity is just so arousing at times;” _______________________________ Nu had a little more trouble than she would like to admit.
The very moment she put her limb in the way that was severed with the dark blade after saving the golden NetNavi, she had cringed. The only relief within that moment was the savored punch that impacted upon the darkloid and made her feel a mixture of satisfaction. Both arms retracted as her enlarged fist and became a regular small limb and the other shifting the excess data into the other arm to recover the lost hand as she shown a small display of her regenerative ability. She had frowned seeing the NetNavi’s data being scattered to the wind.
darn it! I’ve could eaten him!
He was weak to be deleted by that one hit however, and so she questioned the value of the dish. Regardless, she seemed to have kept her other prize alive, the traveling companion she had followed around. The blob girl had crossed her arms looking down upon Shadow. Her thoughts racing that if he had seen her be the “monster” that she was; he might have caught on to how dangerous she was when it came to playing nice with other NetNavis and felt hinted towards what she would like to do to him. She supposed her loss of self-control and strength was a saving grace as she gained a snarky stare looking upon the NetNavi. Her expression once again expressing one of two things:
Either say “Thank you”, or “You’re so weak!”
He seemed to say nothing at first, adding to the tension of the moment. Nu had not done anything to deserve that stare, right? As far as she knew when it came to human beings was that assistance had triggered one of two things: pride or gratitude which was also deciding factors in character. By the look on Shadow’s face, it seemed that it triggered some kind of “pride.” She had possibly pegged his personality down seeing how she observed how NetNavis tried to so closely emulate humans. At the very least, she did not even expect him to be thankful.
” "...Good eye."”
Okay, so now, she did not know what the heck was going through his mind. It sounded like a compliment, but then again she could not be sure. She was still learning this “emotional” factor after all. Hearing him, she had returned the words with a faux little show herself: her eyes closed graciously, her finger tips going from one to another, and a smile going across her bubble gum pink lips. Tit for that, she had seemed to show some similar characteristics when it came to the “faking good” department.
She broke her little game face and put her hands on her hip looking him over. His leg still injured and her eyes turning away and looking about, she seemed to be looking out, but actually hiding the sickly and dark smile upon her face.
Travels with this NetNavi would seem to arouse some excitement after all if prey would come after him. A rift. A tear. A seam ripped in the dead space of the Uranet, leaving what looked like a small two-dimensional hole that opened itself at random. It was a disruption to the area, though given the way that most people entered it anyway, perhaps it wasn't so much of a disruption as one might have thought. As the gates cracked open, a few lanterns aimlessly floating around within the gate could be seen, as if signifying its place of origin.
From within that gap, a Navi dressed in black, tattered clothing appeared, complete with a silver glow around him as he moved. Around him was a small circle of silver light, rotating slowly and expanding and shrinking back and forth, as if to indicate a slight bit of instability. His face was completely concealed, and he looked as though he were a character who had survived some sort of war or ordeal, that had given himself in to madness and that could no longer feel or think the same as he may once have.
As he finally landed on the ground, a small gust of wind could be felt around the area, blowing his hood up somewhat to reveal a disturbed grin, as if this character were always smiling.

Upon emerging from the portal, the nosferatu noticed an old, seemingly abandoned dark building.
"If anyone needs me for whatever reason, you will know where to find me."
And with that, he made his way into the building, making it's basement his resting place.

“This is not the reunion I wanted at the moment” _______________________________ It was all certainly...different.
Megami was the last to emerge from the seam and took a gander of the area before her before anything else. She had laid eyes on something unlike that was told of her of stories like in the real-world. She heard of no hung paths that seemed to be like the depressing remains of destruction, no dark landscapes, nor do any faint glows that made it seem like anything was lurking by. This place seemed like an expanded land of scorched earth and impenetrable darkness. It was unconceivable! Did something truly in the real-world seem like this or was it only here that things seemed so horrid?
Ignorant of just who the mysterious NetNavi was, Megami had stepped near Silence as if she found comfort being by a guide who knew of this place. It was rude of her to do so, but the feeling of dread that washed over her could not be helped. Even at times like this, she wished someone would say, “I told you so.” At least then, she could pick up her fault and go-on, and she had to as she knew her mission still remained in her mind.
A weak expression, a straight face that tilted towards a frown, had been present as she looked upon Silence once more. She was to his back, so she could not see his cloaked demeanor, and now that she thought about it, seldom did she get a chance to even see his face as far as she knew. She just knew that of someone who was so experienced in this area, she could ask of him without getting qualm or quarrel about her crazed choice of stepping into this area.
Megami’s right hand went to her NetNavi icon as her hand pressed across it, her mind so shaken that she had not noticed that throughout the course of her frequent area ventures, she had not changed her Graphic Display in order to suit the environment; a gift that the genius self-proclaimed “Little Sister” of Xenneth had made for her to better understand emulated areas that were similar to the real world copied onto the network. She could dress stylish for a beach, a party, or even a world-wide trip if she had to. As the glow of her body from the neck down enveloped all but the Navi Icon nestled onto her bosom, the light faded revealing the bright whites and blues of her angelic default outfit.
It seemed this world called for a formal appearance of a NetNavi.
“If I may ask,” the NetNavi had spoken up towards Silence, “Where would information in such a Network be found? I have a feeling that even this place has denizens that speak of ‘what’s up,’ yes?” Megami asked, applying the everyday slang she heard Xenneth and Rosetta use to convey hear meaning; ignorant of just how unnatural it sounded from someone so formal in-character. ______________________________ “But it will have to due for right now!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”The Zone” by The WeekendIC Attire: Megami:: Graceful Goddess {Default}Nu :: Default Chatty Ditz: ------

*As Static and Shade were bickering nearby, a green-clad navi with a translucent cape that appeared to be boiling. The navi was obviously male, and his face was one of stern, unwavering determination. Cracking his neck once, the navi stared at Static after glancing over Shade. In an almost gravelly voice, he spoke simply one sentence to them.*
?: What do you think you're doing in this part of the net?

"What are we doing? Are you so blind that you cannot see us standing? If so, then yes, that is exactly what we are doing in this part of the net. If, on the other hand, you are asking about our motives, then I can tell you that my goal is to become stronger than any of those sodding light-dwellers."
While this WAS the shadiest place on the net, Shade saw no reason to lie to someone that might be stronger than him.

*The navi only nodded, looking agitated by the remark. Within a flash, he gripped Shade by the face, glaring into his eyes. The navi's eyes were a sludge-green color, with a fluctuating pattern, before flaring red. Just then, his hand glowed a dull red, before scorching Shade's face. Throwing the navi into Static to send them both a few feet back, he shook off the shock of throwing a body one-handed. Looking back with an unwavering face, he stared at them.*
?: Don't be an idiot...What are you going to do with that "power" you seek? Spread discord? Despair? Hatred? You're in over your head....All that power will do is consume you and obliterate you...lusting for power will make you a glutton for punishment...remember that...until then, get out of my home.
