As the area seemed to slowly lose power, becoming darker and darker, Silence himself appeared to become engulfed within that darkness, as if he had been assimilated and then assembled into it as one body. The clouds of black whirled everywhere, accompanied by wails and cries of the dead that rest beyond that border. Then suddenly, from within that singularity of shadow, a feral howl could be heard, a shrill cry that reminisced that of a Juuka--an entity cursed to bear the seed of a forgotten nightmare. Yet, suddenly the clouds seemed to faze out, leaving nothing more than a slightly younger, calmer voice that echoed all throughout the area. ???????: "Pass through this border of life and death, if you believe yourself to have nothing and no one to live for." > move silence.exe /uranet/main (( For best display, use either DejaVu Monospace, Ubuntu Mono, Consolas, Lucida Console, or Monaco as your monospace font in your browser. “I still long for you, No matter where you are.” _______________________________ "Pass through this border of life and death, if you believe yourself to have nothing and no one to live for.”
Megami’s heart almost stopped hearing that.
She had someone worth living for, and right now, he was lost. However, she dared not think of why he had not spoken to her since, why she could not hear his voice now, and possibly where he had gone from which he could not return. He was not among the deceased, but simply lost somewhere in a dark place most likely. It was possibly the only reason why she could not find him seeing that he left hours ago to find Rosetta, and yet, he heard nothing from her and it was difficult to even get a sound from Netopia that did not consist of a busy tone of a phone. Her eyes lowered to a bitter stare into the darkness almost losing track of her thoughts.
“Coming?
Her eyes widening hearing the NetNavi as she snapped out of her daze. Of course she was! It was her idea to go in the first place, was it not?
However, even the heavenly, female NetNavi had her doubts. Just like humans, she would stare upon something that was like a caution tape or a warning sign and think, “This is not a good idea,” but yet, what other choice did she have? She could not disobey her heart, and so her feet drawing before her with each step, and the looming darkness growing larger from the perspective of those big blue irises, Megami had started to feel the pressure just by approaching the portal as suddenly from close up, the darkness of the night net seemed more impenetrable than usual.
“If he’s lost in the darkness I’ll bring him back,” Megami had thought as she gazed upont he portal reaching a hand upon the swirling seam, “…because I know he would do the same for me.” Her smile and the thought being her light, Megami let herself become swept into the darkness of the portal. _______________________________ “We look for each other, and that’s what matters.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Toes“ by LightsIC Attire: Greener on this Side!Chatty Ditz: ------ Destination: Undernet Main

Warrior had wandered into this network a few hours ago, not finding anything of interest quite yet. Truthfully, he wasn't even sure of what it was that he was looking for, exactly. Just something.
And then he came across the gazebo that had been strangely affected by the mysterious red streams of data that came down from the sky sometime before Warrior had arrived.
And inky black portal managed to draw in his attention...
He hadn't fully searched the Netopian Network yet, but this mysterious anomaly was something that he knew he should investigate before finishing his recon here.

Before Warrior could inspect the portal much further, a bright light appeared in front of him. Out of the light stepped two girls, who almost looked exactly alike. Their only difference was that one was far darker than the other, in a lot of ways. The fairer one was first to speak. "Greetings kind sir. My name is Sun, and this is my sister, Yun. Whether you believe us or not, the one who preserves the balance has sent us here to watch over you, and offer you our strength, however small it may be." While Sun was giving her lengthy explanation, Yun gave the boy a good once over. "Hm... not bad for a do-gooder. In any case, she covered most of it." Sun was starting to get a bit irate with her sister. This had been the third time this day that Yun had interrupted her. "Yes, well, while we are here to help you, we would also like to ask one thing of you. And we promise not to be a burden to you in any possible way." Yun knew that if there was one thing both she and her sister were good at, it was manipulation. As such, they both gave Warrior a somewhat pleading look, while also trying to seem just a little cute.

Warrior stopped himself mid-step as the light appeared in front of him, revealing the two new arrivals. At first he thought they had come from the portal... but after briefly assessing the scene, that assumption was easily discarded.
" ... and offer you our strength, however small it may be."
'However small it may be?'
Warrior kept listening, but showed a slightly perplexed gaze at that comment until the girls finished introducing themselves.
" ... You don't have to belittle yourself to earn someone's trust, or their respect. But I'll bite."
Warrior crossed his arms while resuming a comfortable posture. These girls were no threat -- or atleast they didn't seem to be.
" What's the favor?"

[bgcolor=570041] “On my way home the other day,” _______________________________ Speaking of bite...
Nu, heading back to the Undernet, had found it very difficult at the time considering the damage that was inflicted on her. Her form had to be reduced to something very quaint, such as the small form of a virus pup, Spikey. She hated this to a very good extent that she had to be even weaker than usual! Nu, walking about, with a limp, had made her way back to the Night Net so far where she knew there was another portal leading to the Undernet just as there was in that distant land she had first met the golden trimmed NetNavi.
The Internet of Night was perfect for moving incognito, but appeared not at the time considering three strangers.
Nu, on the inside, frowned. Of course she dared not to show a bothered expression on the face of the pup. Looking towards the strangers, she had first approached, attempting to come between them and the portal. While she was walking, she stopped in place among the three figures, stopping and sniffing the foot of Warrior wandering just who this figure was and what was he doing here.
Was he a friend of that bumbling gold-trimmed NetNavi or someone looking for the bounty on the head? He certainly looked like a bounty hunter. _______________________________ “I saw someone and just had to say hey!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Tea Party” by KerliIC Attire: Spikey Pup Skin Chatty Ditz: -----

This was where the girls really worked their magic, they each tightly hugged either of Warrior's arms as Sun started speaking. "Please sir, could you find it in your heart to take care of two girls such as us?" As Sun spoke in a most seductive voice, Yun kept giving him that pleading yet cute look. "Again sir, we promise not to get in your way at all. But, that's all up to you." They knew not what lay in wait for them in this part of the net. Besides, this was really only their second day out. One of the things Sarah had told them to do was to make a friend, and not an enemy, and that was exactly what they were doing.

[bgcolor=570041] “On my way home the other day,” _______________________________ Oh, this melodramatic crap was just too much!
Nu, looking at the person, decided he was of no great significance. After all, who would ever bother with two brats on each arm unless they were so sort of family man with no spine! Human research was just to tedious; not to gather, but rather watch. The bug girl was not sure how many times she could vomit in a day seeing as she had started to develop some preference of avoiding data that involved the sensitive emotions of NetNavis. It was so apparent in that NetNavi in the city, that whiney NetNavi that followed Shadow, and not to mention anyone with an emotional defect on the net.
Human beings made NetNavis into Emo Wrecks!
Nu, detesting rather than admiring the NetNavi, had frown...on the outside this time. The expression shown on the face of the pup that sniffed Warrior’s foot had stepped closer with a single paw, opened the maw of its mouth and bit his ankle and hung on suckling it as if to show him how pathetic he looked with a pair of bickering girls on his arms; and to add insult to injury, a puppy that was gnawing at his ankle as Nu was puncturing him with little teeth and suckling and growing as she shook her head like a wild mutt trying to get a bone. _______________________________ “I saw someone and just had to say hey!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Tea Party” by KerliIC Attire: Spikey Pup Skin Chatty Ditz: -----

These girls had oddly reminded him of another pair of sisters he once knew. But they had probably found the wrong person if they were looking for someone to 'protect' them.
" ... Follow me if you want, but I can't assure your safety. I'm sort of searching for trouble, right now."
That seemed like a pretty decent description of what he was doing, really.
As the Spikey virus drew near, limping, it stole Warrior's attention instantly. From the corner of his eye, he thought it was Embera's dog-virus, Scruffy. As it approached, though, it clearly was just a stray clump of half-deleted data.
And probably half deleted for a reason.
" ... "
It was still approaching him, sniffing his foot as it seemed. He wasn't sure why it looked so disappointed, though -- but didn't care either.
" ... Get lost, pu-- Hey!!"
That thing almost bit him, but he slid his foot back (just out of reach of the pup's mouth) as he saw it opening its jaw. Instinctively, after his foot evaded that chomp, it retaliated with a kick to the dog's face, almost as if his foot had a mind of its own.
Warrior was one to be concerned about other navis, but not about virii. As he walked by the virus to get to the portal, he whipped out a handgun and blindly shot at it -- not looking at it to take aim, and not caring where (or even if at all) the bullet hit. A fired weapon was usually enough to frighten away most virii anyway.
The two girls could follow if they wanted -- Warrior didn't care. And even if they stayed behind with the virus, he was sure that they were more than capable of protecting themselves against a mere Spikey.
Regardless, this whole scene was only slowing him down, and so far he had accomplished nothing as far as his goals were concerned. He wasn't sure of what was beyond the portal, but there was only one way to find out.

[bgcolor=570041] “On my way home the other day,” _______________________________ A shoe to the face?! Not a fun way to obtain a print!
However, a shoe print too was useful...but painful. Being flicked a short distance across the yard, Nu had frowned as she swore one thing in particular: revenge! However, for now, she had to do well with trying to escape this godforsaken net and make her way back to the Undernet. Her eyes, going to the portal, had kept to the dark swirling mass as Nu remained in the form of a pup. If the NetNavi seemed to be heading in near Shadow, she had to at least maintain a secret identity. She certainly did not like the NetNavi who looked like a “Light-Dweller” from on the side of the net.
With her sound steps, Nu had entered the portal into the Undernet once more as she searched for the plated NetNavi she was fond of. _______________________________ “I saw someone and just had to say hey!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Tea Party” by KerliIC Attire: Spikey Pup Skin Location Change To: UndernetNet Main Chatty Ditz: -----

The girls wasted no time following after their new friend. Not even time enough to see what happened to the virus that tried to attack him.
[Location Change (Sun & Yun): Undernet Main]
As the girls left, another navi emerged. He instantly recognized the supposed virus for what it really was. "Oh, Nu, Shadow's looking for you. Give him my regards." And with that being said, the strange vampiric navi took off in a swarm of bats.

A lone navi sat at the edge of the lake in the area's park, head tilted down so that he could make eye contact with his sorrowful reflection in the water. His legs were spread apart, and everything below his knees submerged in the shallow water, while his hands were rested between his lap as if they were lifelessly hanging from his sunken shoulders.
Some say that a person's eyes reflect their soul.
'Perhaps', this boy thought, 'if I can look into my own eyes, I'll be able to see my own soul.'
But his reflection from the water showed nothing more than the humiliated state he had lost himself in.
'My weapons are gone...' -- he left them behind in the Undernet, from whence he had just came.
'Remnant's gone...' -- that was his other, weaker half. Or rather, not even a half, but just a portion. And it was one with more bravery than himself.
'And everything Embera said... was true...' -- after all, if he couldn't disprove it, then it must be fact, right?
'... Everything everyone said... was true.'. There was no way to protect other navis without destroying even more. But destruction was an ability Warrior had found himself lacking, lately.
He could give up -- but there was no 'home' for him to return to, to end this hopeless quest.
He could die -- but that's happened before. And he'd survived.
He looked intently at his reflection again, this time as if talking to it -- or rather, talking to himself.
The only thing left to do, then, was what he had found himself doing now.
"... Stop trying."
