The thought had slipped his mind up until now.
??: Yeah, how much did you say we were gettin' paid again?
He couldn't do the job if the pay wasn't adequate.

“Riches?”A navi sporting blue hair and a bandaged right arm walked up from behind Raven. He looked like he could have been a human, even if he did have a rather unusual appearance compared to their organic creators. His friendly composure was accompanied by an equally friendly tone. “I can’t say that we’ll find treasure or anything like that, but I guess it’s a possibility. The Ion Gauntlet isn’t like a gem that can be sold or even priced, so I don’t think we’ll be finding some massive horde of treasure. I can pay you for your help if need be.”“Nonesense!” Kosoku had jumped off the bench to greet his friend. “You need not worry yourself about compensation for our comrades. This is my gift to you: a fellow admirer of my work, who longs to see a glimmer of the gods themselves through me. I will see to it that these fine Navis receive payment once we complete this task.” The blue Navi smiled as Kosoku gave him a hardy pat to the back. “Thank you. It really does mean a lot to me that you’ve gone so far out of your way to help me, Kosoku.” He turned his attention to Jinko and Raven as he gave a polite bow. “My name is Bulwark. It’s nice to meet both of you. Has Kosoku told you what we'll be doing?”

Jinko: Not really, all he's done so far is stand on that bench there and shout at no-one in particular.
He wasn't really looking at the person talking to him, but he could guess that if this guy was the client, he had the info they needed.
Jinko: Care to explain it to us?

As the Navi spoke about the Gauntlet possibly not being sold, Umbral Raven muttered under his breath Trust me. If it's rare enough, some rich schmuck will buy it.
"So... You appear saner than, well, him," Umbral Raven said, after the navi finished speaking, pointing to Kosoku. "So I'll address this to you: If there are riches even potentially involved, there's always a catch... mind telling us what that is? Protected by security protocols? Hidden in a far of network? Location kept secret by Illuminati Elite, what?"

Bulwark gave Raven a rather serious look. "We're not getting this item for ourselves. Once we find the Ion Gauntlet, we're going to destroy it. It's a weapon that should have never existed, and now people know where to find it."
His tone became lighter as he continued. "I've been researching the Ion Gauntlet for some time, and you're right about there being a catch. There's been a recent post on the Netopia BBS that mentioned its location, although it was really cryptic. I did a little digging and I did manage to find what the post had said. The gauntlet is in a remote server called the Delta Server, which is a little tricky to get to, but not impossible. I've been by there once before but I didn't have much luck in the first directory. That's why I asked Kosoku for his help, because I can't continue unless I've got two others with me. Besides, there's no saying what's past the first challenge."
"Fear not!" Kosoku had gone too long without speaking, and his patience was beginning to run thin (although it was hard to tell). He was ready to get going. "We'll topple down each obstacle that stands in our path, and push onward towards glorious victory! We don't have a moment to lose! We must destroy that foul object before any other vile villain gets a chance to lay their dastardly fingers on it!"
Bulwark smiled and scratched the back of his head. "We definitely need to get there before someone else figures out what that post meant. If you guys are ready, I'll send us over to the Delta Server so we can find the Ion Gauntlet and destroy it once and for all."

Jinko: Better than sitting here and going brain-dead from the green one's speeches.
Jinko stood up and sheathed his blade, checking that everything was there.

"Wait... Wait... So there's this really powerful weapon that people would no doubt pay big bucks for, right. And we're not gonna sell it? This reward better be worth it, you hear, nutjob?" Umbral Raven was taken aback in disbelief. If this weapon was so powerful, there's no way the Wacko would be able to pay more than what it was worth, could he?
"Well, if he's bankrolling this, I guess I'm along for it. I could use a challenge anyway."

Li-Pink seemed to just appear among the group all in his shocking pink attire, however no candy in his hand at the present.
An adventure in this Delta Server will be fun.

Jinko: Okay, is this some sort of delusion? This crazed clown is usually looking for an excuse to blow someone, or something, up!
Jinko had to be seeing things, everyone and everything was still in one piece!

"Alright. Let's get going. I'll transfer us there."Bulwark extended his arms and closed his eyes as he prepared a connection for all of the Navis to take. It took him a little bit to make sure there was enough bandwidth to send them all at once, but as soon as he was sure he began the transfer. There wasn't any flashy cut-scene or cool little display while they were transported. The next thing they knew, they were standing in the root directory of the Delta Server. The area wasn't all that interesting to look at: at least not compared to Element City. Blue squares and lines replaced where grass and wildlife had once been. The ground seemed to extend out endlessly with no structures or objects anywhere in sight, except for one lone wall (which also seemed to extend outward toward forever). On the ground below the group was a hexagon inside of an octagon with white circles covering each point. Between the the two shapes the ground was glowing a dull yellow. On the wall was a massive white circle with 3 much smaller circles that were about shoulder high and spread out fairly far. Bulwark immediately started to walk toward one of the circles on the ground as he explained the room. "Pretty strange, huh?" He kneeled down and touched the circled. "I can't figure out how to solve this puzzle. I've at least figured out that each of these circles is a sub directory that we can go in, but they're heavily encrypted. I spent about a day decrypting one of these files and it just sent me to another room that looked exactly like this. I'm fairly sure that one of these files should move us forward, but I don't know which one will. I think that's where this wall comes in."Bulwark stood back up and walked up to one of the small circles on the wall. "Now watch this." He stuck his arm inside the circle, reaching as far into the wall as he could. Random lines on the massive white circle began to light up. "Pretty cool. I bet if 2 of you guys stuck your arm in those 2 other circles, then the image would fully light up. Anyone want to give me a hand? No pun intended.""I shall assist you, Bulwark!" Kosoku was right beside Bulwark in a flash, his arm reared back for a mighty punch. Using as much style as he could, Kosoku gave a devastating punch into the circle. It was an unnecessary gesture, but the green navi couldn't help but show off his abilities. His arm hadn't been chopped off or destroyed, so it seemed pretty safe. "Good. Anyone else?"

Now Umbral Raven wasn't one to do the risky part of a job, when there were other, readily available lackies, but since the leader and the Cash-cow of the group had already stepped forward to risk themselves, he decided to do as well. If worst came to worst, he'd want to be remembered favorably by the guy handling their paychecks. Besides, if the holes suddenly deleted the navis who stuck their hands in the wall, he wouldn't have the secure paycheck, or the knowledge of how to get to the weapon, if he decided to sell it on his own.
"Well here goes nothing" He stuck a hand in the last hole.

Jinko noticed that the lines on the wall were connected to those on the floor.
Jinko: Hey, what if those circles are connected to these ones?

Clown?
Jinko would then immediately feel a kick to his backside. The middle of it. Only used to move him forward toward the group.
I quartered the last person who called me that. Now you should go help them so we can get in!
His tone was as sweet as the candy he created.

OOC: That's fine Raven. Just let me know when you're ready to jump in.
~Challenge 1: Puzzled~ The circles on the floor and the giant circle on the wall lit up as soon as Raven activated the last switch. They could hear the sound of the entire room powering up as letters began to appear in the circles on the ground. On the wall was a giant image of a man in a suit missing his head. Replacing where his cranium would be was a question mark. Bulwark removed his hand from the wall and stepped back to get a good look at the picture. Now that the room had been activated, they no longer needed to keep their hands inside the switches. "Well isn't that something. I think I've seen this before..." He turned his attention to the floor. "Whatever it is, I bet it has something to do with these letters..."Glancing back and forth between the wall and the floor, Bulwark made an educated guess about the puzzle. "It looks like we have to put these letters together to make a phrase or something. See those spaces? I bet it's either 2 or 3 words that we have to make...yeah! That's it! We need to figure out what phrase relates to that picture. Whatever we don't use must be the directory we need to take.""..." Kosoku was now standing beside Bulwark examining the ground. None of what his friend had said made sense to the eccentric Navi. He didn't have a clue what to do with the letters, or what was going on with the floor. "...Are you sure you know what you're talking about?" "Well...Not exactly, but it makes sense to me. There are 14 different directories, so that means we need a phrase that's 13 characters long."[CHALLENGE: Each person gets 1 post to guess what the phrase is, or can opt to find an alternative route. Once someone chooses the correct phrase, or until everyone has gone, I'll post again and we'll continue on.]
