Combatants: K-414 vs Embera
Length: 12 in-battle posts + some number of intro posts. Judge: None yet. Version: Off. Even-steven battle
Locale: An empty field, with grass about a foot tall in length. Patches of grass are missing, signs of battles having taken place here before. In the distance is a large forest of trees, and on the opposite side a large lake.
BATTLESETMATCHGO
==============================
K-414 let a low growl escape his throat as he came to a stop, just outside the field. His target was in there; that he knew. The woman, the one who had shown him such disdain before...he had to avenge his honor, to prove his worth. Since that day, he had grown far stronger, and the burning rage that consumed his entire being had only grown in ferocity. He was looking for war, and in this fight, he believed he had found it.
Even as he began to lope forward, cognizant reasoning and lucid thought seemed to drift away, like a feather on the wind. The anger, the rage that roared inside if him had already began to take over, despite the fact that he hadn't even begun to fight yet. It was the anticipation of the battle, the thought of pitting his skills against one who had bested him before that excited him. Though he wished her no lasting harm, at least with his clear thought, at the same time he wanted nothing more than her data dripping from his claws.
With a final leap, he landed, skidding to a halt a short distance away from the woman. She was the mistress of the flame, and though her fire had burned him before in the past, he was not about to let that happen again. He would prove to her, to everyone, to himself, that he wasn't weak, that he wasn't worthless. He was unit 414 of the K-series, crafted by the Animus Syndicate, and he would show no mercy to this one.
He did not speak, and only a deep, low growl emanated forth from between his fangs. K-414 was ready for combat.

((Found iiiit!!))
[glow=white,2,500] *The day was pristine, the grass, beautiful. This seemed the perfect day through the meadow. Keeping a steady walk, she made her way up to the wolf navi. She walked through the grass, but...her mere presence scorched the ground with an unmatchable blaze. She almost shed a tear that this happened at less that 5% of her strength....Almost. There was something about this blaze that caused a bit of a frantic joy within her. She bounded for the wolf before coming to a dead stop, six feet away.*
Embera: You wanted to fight, Animus model 414, K-series prototype? Looks like you'll get your wish today. It's not like a lady to throw the first punch, but a wild, incoherent beast like you, you'll have no problem with it...
*She was glad that she was free, ready to fight...but oddly...ready to destroy. She had an inner fire burning, and ready to scorch everything before her...She wanted this fight, and she wanted to kill this wolf.*[/glow]

K-414 glanced to the sky as his foe approached, the two only a short distance apart. His optical sensors flickered over the sky, saw the cloud cover therein. The clouds above were...flying by, moving far faster than he'd seen them move normally. Then again, the wolf navi didn't often take the time to look up at the sky. It was...odd, now that he thought about it. There was a whole world above him, and yet he focused his efforts here, on the ground.
His train of thought was shaken as he heard his foe speak, the one who had discarded him so easily. He opened a hand, a row of claws emerging from his fingertips. "Lady? Pah. You burn whatever you touch; you're no more a lady than a wildfire is a controlled candle flame. But I'm going to snuff you out, and leave the world in its natural light; not your artificial lies," he growled, but he didn't give her the chance to take that first attack.
Oh no; she had offered, and he would take her up on it.
The wolf navi gathered his energy in his claw as he shot forward, slamming the opened palm unto the ground, sending shockwaves of energy radiating outward. From that energy, he pushed off with his arm, flipping through the air as he came towards her the long claws slashing outward at her while saliva practically leaked like water from his maw as he brought the rows of sharp fangs down towards her.
"Let us see whether the Sun or Moon is superior!" he roared.

((Battle post 1: Begin!))
[glow=white,2,500] *Embera became rather ornery at the insults slewn about, calling her a wildfire on a lit candle....She clenched her fist tight, and let a monstrous wave of heat out, still maintaining her iron-tight gaze to the wolf.*
Embera:I was never good with euthanasia...looks like this'll be painful my friend...
*As the shockwave moved outward, Embera slammed her heel into it, causing the ground to disperse, bubbling up lava from below.*
Embera: Nifty thing here....capable of burning you without contact...This'll keep you back from touching me...
*Immediately after speaking, Embera fell face-first into the lava pond, and became one with it. As she travelled around the molten lava, she launched up in an arc of fire behind K-414 and dealt him a double axe-handle down into the pits below*
Embera: You think you can stop me? You think you have enough strength to withstand this rocketing blaze? C'mon boy, let me see what's inside you...[/glow]

To the wolf navi, pain wasn't something that restricted him. It wasn't a thing that he feared, nor was it a tangible thing that held him back from performing at his best, as it did so many others. To the 414th unit of the K-series, pain was an old friend, a comforting reminder that he was, in fact, still alive, and it allowed him to keep fighting for what he believed in, given that he was, in fact, alive. It ignited that rage within him, gave his existence a purpose, if only for a short time: destroy whatever had caused his wrath to rear its head.
And in that, as soon as the flames began to appear beneath him, giving way to lava that seared him with every movement...the burning candle of his anger began to ignite. There wasn't a lot of change on the outside as the lava seared his hands and feet, though inwardly he was already beginning to feel the rage welling up within his chest. His strikes had missed, and he was glancing frantically around for his target, the woman who controlled the Sun, when he felt a powerful blow crash into his back, sending him downwards.
The rage within him exploded outward, and he paid no heed to the lava as he slammed his clawed hand into the stuff, stopping his descent as he turned, raking his claws across her middle. "Please; your flames are paltry compared to others. When you think you can contend with me, woman, we'll try this again!" he roared as he leapt forward towards her again, seeking to followup on the damage he'd caused in slashing across her abdomen. His arms widened before he slashed inward with both arms, intent on putting a series of X's across her frame.
"Your false sunlight is a plague upon our world!" he roared as he attacked.

[glow=white,2,500] *Embera smirked as the wolf was able to be fueled from sheer anger, sheer pain. It was a long time before Embera had found someone she couldn't shut-down in one flash. This battle....was getting exciting.*
Embera: Alright, boy! Let's get this really rolling!
*Right after she hashed the taunt, she could feel the claws reaving her body, causing her to fall back. This certainly wasn't a turn for the best.*
Embera: Dang it....so fast...
*Embera barely gasped as she fell back into the lava pond, all bubbles stopping. Was it over? Was she to be beaten here? One thought went through her mind. "Foolish pup...." A rumbling could be heard when, out of the ankle-high lava, Embera emerged from under, forming from the lava with nary a scratch on her, delivering a sharp uppercut to K-414's jaw.*
Embera: Woo!!! This is ex-citing! Don't stop now, Wolfie! We're just getting started here! C'mon, don't let this break you! You're supposed to love fighting, so let's do what you love!
*Embera jumped up to meat the canine head on, delivering combo after combo. All of the accumulation caused her to generate an intense, radiating friction. Every shot that missed generated a hot spark of energy, enough to singe the wolf's fur.*
Embera: I know you K-series models...All fur on top, all bot underneath....I'll see your true colors, even if I have to melt the rest off!!!
*Embera could only hold unbridled fury in her arms, wishing to trade blow for blow with this wolf-navi, wanting to have more of this fight. More anger in him, she wanted it all...She hadn't been this excited...And she didn't want this excitement to end at all. Time for her to see what was stronger: Wrath...or Greed...*[/glow]

There was a burning that was growing within the wolf-navi. Each twinge of pain that would cause a lesser navi to shy away in discomfort or even fear merely pushed his anger more. It made him stronger, faster, more resilient to damage and that was just the beginning. Every inch of K-414’s body was prepared for war and the anger just fueled it further, bringing a power to bear that would cause even the most stalwart navi to quiver in fear.
As his initial strike hit, he saw her wince and begin to fall back, even as he tried to strike again. She vanished beneath the lava, leaving him standing in an open field. ”Come out! I know you’re not so easily beaten!” he roared, and even as he did so, he felt the lava beneath his feet shift. However, he had no time to dodge, and merely let himself move backward with the blow, rolling with the punch as it took him into the air.
Mid-flight, the wolf-navi’s eyes snapped open and he used the momentum to flip himself backward, landing on the lava on all fours, skidding backwards for a moment before he slid to a stop, using his claws to anchor him into the ground. ”Break me? Pah. You’ll have to hit me with more than that if you want to do any lasting damage!” he roared out, driving his fist into the ground.
With a grunt of both rage and excitement, K-414 launched himself forward towards Embera, who rushed at him as well. There was a brief pause as the two closed the gap, and time seemed to slow for the wolf-navi before her fire-laden fist connected with his side as his claw slashed her shoulder. As soon as that first contact was made, the two engaged in a flurry of attacks, each seeking to gain the upper hand over the other. K-414’s weapon-like body dealt damage to her even as her flame-suffused limbs sparked and cackled with the friction, striking him as well.
”You’ll find that the only thing beneath that is pure, unrestrained ANGER!” he bellowed out as he purposefully took a strike to the chest in order to capitalize on her lowered defenses, slashing viciously down the front of her. The wolf’s fur was singed in various places, and still smoking from where her strike had caught his chest. Before he could react again, another blow rained down, knocking him a short distance away.
However, as he hit the ground, he launched back up to his feet, the damage regenerating almost as quickly as it was being dealt. ”You fight with spirit! Let me see the burning in your heart! The flame of anger!” he roared out.

[glow=white,2,500] *Embera cackled as the blows were being exchanged, pound for pound, this wasn't about strength, it was about sheer force of will. Whoever decided to drop first would be the one who decided to take defeat. She could feel the harsh lash against her chest, and smiled more as she refueled from the lava beneath them. Embera soon dropped down quickly in front of the wolf navi and punched the ground. The focal point of the punch generated a large crater, swelling up with all the lava of the area. Embera continued to laugh before she spoke to K-414.*
Embera: Hahaha! Yes! See this crater?! These were behind every punch! You've taken countless, and are about to take more. You will break my friend, I will see to that...!
*With a single bound, Embera let loose a flurry of punches and kicks, combo after combo, Not caring about the wolf's regenerative abilities. She thrusted her foot square into his gut with the force of a locomotive before running up to meet with more blows. Through all of this, she couldn't stop laughing. A sickly cackle as she brushed through the pain and through the fight.*
Embera: Anger?! I just want to have fun! We're fighting with it all!!! Let's go Fido! I wanna strike you down now! Break, burn, die!!![/glow]

K-414 was completely unimpressed with the woman’s show of strength. The power that she displayed was impressive, but the strikes were blunt, dull. They struck his armored hide with solid force, but for each and every strike of hers that connected, the wolf-navi was certain to pay her back with one of his own, slashing viciously across her exposed areas. Even now, while bits and pieces of his armor lay scattered about from the result of her ferocious strikes, her body was littered with scratches, slices and cuts from his claws, each one adding up.
“The ground doesn’t know how to roll with a punch, how to turn the opposition’s force into its own benefit.” The wolf let out a low growl, his fur standing on end. “Your displays of strength only prove how little confidence you have in your own POWER!” he roared, a flux of rage burning up through him, his eyes flaring just a little brighter.
As the woman moved forward again, K-414 met her evenly, the wolf not showing even the slightest signs of fear as each of her punches only fed into his rage, made him stronger, faster, more resilient. He was no stranger to pain, and each and every strike that came from Embera only fed into that, making him all the more eager to return the favor as his claws found purchase all over her frame, slashing and cutting into her exposed body.
The thrust-kick to his stomach had been unexpected and he rolled backward a few times before flipping up to his feet. As she charged forward, grinning like a psychopath, K-414 moved inside her guard, slamming a claw into her abdomen in reprisal before his fangs bit down on her shoulder, even as she taunted him. With a grunt, his fangs pierced through the woman’s armor before he turned and launched her away from himself, watching her with barely-contained anger.
“Come on then, if you wish to strike me down! I’ll turn you down every step of the way!” he howled, his eyes practically radiating energy as his rage continued to build.

[glow=white,2,500] *Embera continued to exchange blows, she could feel a sharp blow to her stomach, followed by even sharper fangs in her shoulder. Squinting an eye before grinning widely, Embera grabbed onto the wolf's maw and, without doing anything about the claw, delivered countless headbutts to the wolf until his claw would retract.*
Embera: Cowardice? Confidance in my own abilities? You will die by my hand! You will fall by my flame! Hahahaha!!! Come on! We both know how to take a punch, but that doesn't mean we can't die...I intend to escort you to that deathbed!!!
*With that, Embera grabbed the wrist of the wolf navi from her abdomen before drilling her elbow into the crown of the navi. All the while getting battered, beaten, and bruised, Embera refused to slow down, to desist, to give up. She will not be the one to fall, and she will not let this be her end. This is the proving grounds for both of them. To prove their strength, their power, their existence. Without losing a moment, Embera continued to exchange blows with the wolf. Ignoring the chance to counter, ignoring the openings, the options to parry. She's fighting on this wolf's terms, and loving every punch.*
Embera: Come on! I will crush you to ash and make you the keystone to verification! You will be the staple of my existence! Your absence from this world will be the cement to secure my presence!!![/glow]

The impact of a skull upon his own did little to dissuade the wolf Navi from continuing to fight; and though the pain flooded through him with each impact, he wasn’t about to let this one show more backbone than he. The sick ‘thwack’ of skull on skull continued once more before K-414 relinquished his clawed grip on Embera, the two breaking away for a brief moment, just long enough to draw a single breath before the two met once more in a brutal, vicious brawl that left very little room for anyone to be shy. The damage that the two of them were taking was impressive, yet neither one showed any signs of stopping.
One of his claw attacks missed, and he felt the white-hot heat of Embera’s hand about his wrist before an elbow slammed into his already-rattled skull. An explosion of pain blossomed within, and the wolf-navi actually stumbled backward under the blow. His skull shook, and he actually focused on defense for a moment until the vision that swam before him cleared, and there was but one Embera fighting him again, instead of three. Yet even that momentary respite did not quell his anger, and there was a shuddering behemoth within him that was beginning to wake, a rage untouched by him. Until now.
As Embera charged forward again, K-414 met her head on, several attacks being traded before it was K-414’s turn to take the advantage as he saw a wicked haymaker headed towards him. He moved with the speed of a snake, gripping her wrist and rolling backwards as he put his feet into her stomach. He uncoiled them like springs, launching her up into the air. The wolf moved back to his feet before following suit. The two traded a few blows while airborne, but away from her lava, K-414 had the slight edge and gave a wide slash across her chest before gripping both of his hands over his head. He brought them down with tremendous force, slamming into her skull and sending her spiraling downward.
The wolf landed a short distance away, giving a howl of anticipation. ”COME ON! GET UP! WE’RE NOT DONE HERE YET!” he roared, his eyes burning with unrestrained rage. He looked in pretty poor shape, and he felt about as bad as he looked, with pain suffusing his body. Yet the fight was nowhere near over. Not even close.

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera could feel the blows strike her, she could feel every ounce of pain surge through her soul as if it were to rip her very being apart. Still, she would not desist. She pressed on, with more devotion with every passing moment. She could feel herself launched as she was exchanging with the wolf, and there was a feeling that death was soon upon her. She looked up to see K-414 readying a double-ax handle to her head, much like she had to him.*
Embera: Not gonna happen, mutt!
*With that short burst, Embera dropped down, avoiding the swing, taking advantage of the situation by grabbing the canine's ankles. With a loud yell, she sent K-414 plummeting back into the ground below. Rather than going hand-to-hand again, Embera sent raining down, dozens of spears to the focal point of K-414's impact zone. Her berserker complex was gone, time to calculate, and win...Her fun-time is over, and now she must truly kill her opponent.*
Embera: Unlike you, you mangey furbag, I have a brain, and now I will scorch you with precision, and not just power. Be ready, as we're starting round two...And I will not die here!! [/glow]

K-414 let loose a howl of anger and frustration as he felt the double ax-handle miss his target, his clenched hands moving through the air. There was a second within him where he wondered if perhaps he might be out-matched, but that was soon demolished in the erupting flames of wrath that swelled up from within him. His vision turned red, and he could feel the anger thudding through his body, the data struggling to keep up with the AI as every byte of his body screamed for murder of this other, this one who was mocking him. The fact of whether or not she had actually done anything to mock him was irrelevant; by having survived, and even met his onslaught head on, that alone was mocking him, in his mind. She had been making a fool of him since the very beginning of the fight, and there was now only that anger, and that revenge that burned within him. He would show her, show everyone, that he was not one to be trifled with!
He felt the burning hands on his ankles, and as he hurtled downwards from his perch, his eyes closed. He needed to center himself, to temper the rage that burned within him. Right now he was little more than a wildfire, but it was paramount that he control that flame of anger, and put it towards a direct use. Striking everywhere on her would do little more than get them both worn down. He needed to focus his efforts on one area, to cripple her. Wolves hunt their prey by ripping out the hamstring, to prevent their target from running away or fighting back; he would do the same.
As he drew closer to the ground, his eyes opened and he flipped backwards, landing upon the ground, his claws digging into the ground, slowing his movement away from Embera. He let loose another howl, this one of challenge as the spears began to rain down from above, the fiery obstacles screaming down from the sky. The wolf flipped backwards as a spear slammed into the ground where he’d been standing, landing just long enough to dart to the side, avoiding another of the javelins. He zigged and zagged through them, the residual flames licking his skin as he darted through them, nearly getting away scot-free before one slammed into his shoulder, sending him to the ground.
But there was no stopping, not for K-series, Unit 414. With a roaring howl of frustration spiced with anger, he got up to his feet, sprinting forward towards the one who was now the target of his anger: Embera. ”I had the same thought!” he roared out in response to her words as he loped forward, rapidly closing the distance between them. As he ran, he gathered power in his claws, taking large swipes at the air, sending bursts of raw energy at his target, not wanting to give her a single chance to rest. ”So let’s see this precision of yours!” he spat.

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera was shocked to see him avoiding the spears, given the sheer number. This was a pleasant surprise, this wolf wasn't about to die yet, and the excitement was swelling up within her. Not having time to utter a word, Embera narrowly avoided the first wave of energy, before delivering counter-blows to diffuse some others. Knowing she couldn't avoid them all, Embera braced herself for the impact of the last waves. This was the time she cursed her small frame, as she was sent flying back before the wave diffused.*
Embera: Now THAT'S bite! You managed to hurt me that time, but I'm good to go! Pain is power, a testiment of life! I hurt, therefore I exist! When your pain is gone, you will be dead Mutt... so let's get going for real!
*Embera sprinted at a dead run toward the advancing K-414 before sliding just before he reached her. Without missing a beat, Embera gripped the spear remaining in his shoulder and slammed him over her own shoulder towards the widest prarie on the field. While still in the air, she began to deal many blows to his body before breaking the spear off in his shoulder. The blazing javelin was still ignited inside of his body, and Embera refueled it to burn even longer. She didn't mock him anymore in this flurry, in fact, she was reinforcing him to give it everything.*
Embera: You gotta press on! C'mon! Don't give in! Take me down! Just try for the kill! 100% isn't enough! You'll die for sure if you can't get momentum!
*Embera was willing to do anything to get the canine to truly be a testiment of existence. What is the point of killing a powerless whelp? No...only eliminating the strong verify existence, and she must get his strength out to be truly alive.*[/glow]

K-414’s body took the punishment, but not taking it lying down. As the blows rained down on him, he felt the rage within him begin to grow further. The flames of combat that this woman reveled in…it was like adding coal to an already-raging inferno. Each word she spoke to him, each attack she threw and each one she took, each and every one just added to his raging, unrestrained wrath. His soul and claws hungered for her demise, to have her deleted remnant data lingering in the air, like the scent of a fresh kill. The wolf was hungry for her deletion.
His eyes began to glow a brighter shade of the common red, and his hands clenched into fists before he opened them, catching Embera’s leg with his free arm. The claws of the opposing hand extended outward somehow further before he slashed up the interior of her leg and across her chest, his arm swiping away from his body. As his claws reached her extremities, he pulled his hand slightly shut, giving the claws room to dig into her flesh before he tore her away from him, sending her flying away.
The wolf grunted, taking a step backwards, feeling the pain radiating through his features. Granted, his repair systems were able to help somewhat, but the strength behind her blows, despite the fact that he had shown his bravado earlier, could not be denied. He looked down to his frame, which was suffering from the high number of attacks she’d struck him with. Thankfully, she seemed more to favor flurries of strikes, rather than a single, concentrated blow, which might do enough damage to slow him down, which had been his plan for her. He’d already began his assault on her right leg, and that move just now had added to it.
However, the time to rest was not now; he needed to press the assault. Giving a low growl that resonated outward from his body, he leapt forward, pushing his body past any limits that had been installed within him. If he were the navi he used to be, he would have no doubt been destroyed by now. But like a hunter, a predator, he had evolved to meet the difficulty of hunting and destroying his prey. Embera was a new target, a new foe, a new prey. He had to change up his tactics if he was going to defeat her, and while he had begun to switch to a possibly effective method…he was not see the fruits of his labor until further into the fight.
The wolf let loose a howl as he dropped to all fours, loping towards her, his eyes flashing red with the intent to kill. His claws, recently sharpened on nothing else than her body, flashed in the light as the digestive saliva dripped from his maw. He was ready to rend her limb from limb, and feast on the corpse that remained. “TIME TO DIE!” he roared out, looking to continue his hamstringing methods as he lashed out at her already-injured right leg.
