*The edge of Element City, one of the most heavily populated and beautiful cities on the face of the net. The end of yet another busy day rears its head over the face of the city that has seen so much over the years. Shadows of Eon, the Shadow Devil, and countless other monsters that have caused such chaos fade away with the darkness, bringing about little more than bad memories in a happy time, as the peace of the city remains undisturbed in its tranquil beauty.
From the very edges of this metropolis, a lone Navi watches, his face set as stone as he looks on with unreadable emotions and watches the signs of life below. The lights from the city shine and reflect off of the golden horns which adorn his violet helmet and cast light on his deep red eyes.... eyes which have overseen much destruction in their time, and eyes that even now thirst for more.

Everyone needs to relax sometimes. Presently, the master of mephitis, Xyzillentz, needed a breather. Walking around in a dark grey suit all day beneath the sun wasn't terribly comfortable. Even with the cushion created by his natural gas between his skin and suit, it occasionally became too hot for him to accept.
So under the cover of nightfall, Xyzillentz had run out of the city, across the plains, and found a dark, silent hill on which to rest. So distressed was he that he paid no heed to the glint of light nearby, assuming he had seen it at all. When he was certain he was well away from any navis enjoying the Element City nightlife, Xyzillentz sighed and stretched. For a moment he paused to admire the digital moon. It was full tonight, as it would have been in the real world outside. For a moment he pondered what Zed, his young but lonely operator, could be doing. After reasoning that he was most likely watching bad movies alone as usual, the toxic terror set to the task at hand.
Beneath his helmet, he used his serpentine tongue to press a button below his visor. This released the seals keeping his suit attached. Slowly, he rolled the form-fitting garment off of his body until it hung around his waist, licking his scaly lips. He stretched again, airing out his skin and feeling the gentle evening breeze. The gasses that had been trapped within his suit emerged all at once, even as his fair white skin continued to secrete a steady supply. The cloud of noxious fumes floated all around him, briefly blocking the moonbeams.
He watched the cloud float off from behind his visor for some time, before looking away and resealing his suit to his body. Just as the air finished hissing out of the vacuum seal on Xyzillentz' suit, the cloud of odor was being slowly carried by the breeze directly toward his unseen neighbor...

*The destroyer remains as if a statue on the hillside, ignoring the toxic Navi's exploits entirely until the cloud of toxins finally reach him. With a disgust in his eyes and a glare of harsh nature, the brutal Navi turns his head to the unwelcome being, gazing down with blood-red eyes and clenching his fist.
Without so much as a word, the destroyer then turns away from Element City entirely and walks on without so much as a motion to the foul Navi below. In spite of the indirect insult that he had already taken, the silence of the moment was far more precious than revenge.

The brief encounter had piqued the interest of the grey navi. He cocked his head to the side for a moment, before running up towards this other navi. There was a look about him... a look of evil. He could tell this was a darkloid, and an experienced one at that. He was, in a sense, starstruck. But what does one do in a situation such as this? He needed to talk with him... as much as he was mentoring Zed, he too could use an advisor. And if this one wouldn't teach him willingly, then he would just need to learn by example.
He swiftly ran around and in front of the armored navi. He would try courtesy first. He bowed before the elder evildoer.
"Hello. My apologies for the disturbance earlier. I'm surprised I did not sense your presence... you are a powerful malicious force. I myself am a darkloid, but rather inexperienced. Tell me... would you perhaps accept me as an apprentice? It would be an honor to learn from and serve someone as potent as you."

*As Xyzillentz moves in front of the destroyer and blocks his path, the unknown Navi's pace suddenly stops. His eyes widen slightly as he sees the slender Navi block his way, but his expression quickly hardens when he hears one key term; "darkloid". Barely letting his would-be student finish, the brutal Navi returns with a comment of his own*
?: ....worthless.
*The destroyer stares down Xyzillentz for a few moments, his stone-cold glare piercing through the silence like a blazing arrow as he clenches his fist into a rock-hard ball. Seconds pass as hours as the Navi allows silence to rule, until at last he speaks once again*
?: Get out of my way, garbage.
*Standing steadfast against Xyzillentz in a dead-lock, the violent and brutal Armored Destroyer neither blinks nor gives an inch to his darkloid opponent. Content to keep the deadlock untill a response is made, the raw anger rolls off of this frightening Navi like the ocean's tide, a crushingly powerful presence eminent in his wake*

For a moment, Xyzillentz stood still as the shadow of a tombstone, perplexed. Had he made a mistake? Was this navi not of an evil nature after all? He was sure he had sensed a darkness about him, a violent and angry force of will...
No matter. If this warrior was unwilling to take him on as an apprentice, there were other ways he could learn from him. Visceral education was always a viability... taking all the strategy, strength, and struggle of battle and engraving it within his muscle memory. It seemed there would be no other way for this encounter to end.
"Maybe I made a mistake. Perhaps you're not evil... but you ARE powerful. You ARE full of rage. And that means... you have potential. Maybe our roles should be reversed. I could be your guide... to the darker side. After all, I can see right through your armor."
Xyzillentz paused for a moment, wondering if he should bother clarifying or let his statement stand. He decided to elaborate.
"...Your mental armor, of course. Though I certainly wouldn't mind the more literal interpretation."
That was sure to get him riled up.

*The words, though spoken with a set intent and reason, pass the armored Navi like the wind, while having a similar effect. Though Xyzillentz sought to strike a rise from this brutal Navi, his words had no effect. However, one thing did indeed manage to get the desired rise from the Armored Destroyer, something that was intended as little more than a passing insult.... his warning went unheeded.
With a blindingly fast move, the destroyer rears back and slams a fist into Xyzillentz' chest with a line-drive, knocking the darkloid back slightly before he raises the fist, grips him by the neck, and lifts him off of the ground with crushing strength*
?: ....you've made your choice....
*The destroyer's free hand balls into a fist and raises to the sky, standing vertical and held at stand-by*
?: .....now die with the trash of this world!
*With fist still clenched, the destroyer suddenly releases Xyzillentz from his strangle-hold and lets him free-fall for the split second it takes to hit the ground. In the mean-time, he quickly plants a single arm on the ground and throws his momentum forward, slicing both of his iron legs upward and across the toxic Navi's body with a massive arc of midnight blue energy, throwing him skyward as the brutal Navi flips back and regains his footing.
Blasting forward via his jets to a position under and behind Xyzillentz, the destroyer comes to a halt, sliding into position before turning on a dime and blasting himself upward to meet the Toxic Navi in the air, slamming an elbow into the small of his back with the added power of the jets with a downward spin, blasting him down to the earth before thrusting both fists forward and toward his opponent's position.
Before Xyzillentz was even given the opportunity to land, the destroyer's cannons flash to life with an explosive chain of bursts, a set of mines speeding toward the toxic Navi like lightning from on high as he still continues to fall. With less than a second passing, the barrage of explosives rains down like a set of meteors, blasting with a thunderous roar as the entire area where Xyzillentz lands is torn apart by the raw explosive power in the wake of the destroyer's rage*

Before his disappointment could even fully register, Xyzillentz found himself dangling like a pinata. Though he certainly wouldn't admit it later, he suffered from a flash of panic. How the hell had he been caught so off guard? One impact after the other. The ground, the cold metal legs scraping across his suit, creating a squeaking sound that pierced the night, echoing across the hills and through the streets of the city.
Then he was floating in the air - not flying, for that implies some sense of control. As much pain as he was in, Xyzillentz was acutely aware of everything that was happening to him. He seemed to silently soar in slow motion, analyzing every moment. He would have had time to count the stars in the virtual sky, if he had so desired. Instead, the denied disciple analyzed what was happening around him. He heard the sound of jets propelling his enemy below him. That gave him an idea.
As he began falling toward the ground, Xyzillentz twisted his torso sideways, releasing a jet of toxic gas from his back vent just as he was hit once more by his opponent. The momentum from this blast changed his course of descent even as it glanced off of the other Navi's armor, marking it with a black stain. The change in trajectory kept him just to the side of Armored Destroyer's projectiles as he fell to the ground, rolling away from his point of impact for a moment as the explosive rounds formed a fireball behind him.
Lifting himself up and regaining his posture, Xyzillentz took the opportunity to launch a volley Venenose Visor blasts at his foe, his tongue flicking in and out of his concealed mouth to repeatedly hit one of the buttons below the visor inside his helmet. He couldn't help but notice a strip of his suit was coming loose near his ankle, having apparently been torn open on a rock as he rolled clear of the explosion. The hole was slowly leaking gas - just enough to be noticeable. He cursed to himself briefly before returning his focus to the task at hand. He let off a few more blasts, then sprinted as fast as he could, cycling around his enemy in the hopes that he would aim for the place the blasts had come from, missing Xyzillentz' dark form running with the shadows of the night.
