"..."
As the Lightning Tornadoes approached their target, he stood completely motionless. As leaves, twigs, sticks and even branches were sucked in and absorbed by Warriors tornadoes, he stood tall. The network shook with the use of such force, he couldn't help but feel something. But it wasn't fear. It was just a spark, but a spark nonetheless. It made him feel alive. It excited him to feel the network tremble. If one Could have seen his hidden face, they might see a hint of a smile. His cloaked form sprang forward, his arm reaching for the first tornado. It collided with him, an explosive blast of electricity and sound erupted. As the other two closed in on his position, his arm burst forth, reaching into the Clamore-induced Tornado, grabbing a hold of the hilt of the blade. He then redirected it's path to collide with Warrior's "Faith"-induced Tornado. The explosion eradicated everything in the immediate vacinity, save himself. The trees vanished, the snow melted and evaporated, leaving nothing but barren earth and a decent size crater. As the light faded, A pitch black Aura radiated off of him, as he slowly descended to the ground below.
*Pop-Pop-Pop!*.
The wind bursts from the female navi pelted the Aura, hardly more than an annoyance to him. He sidestepped the flying symbol. He plain and simply ignored her. As Merrill charged in, he shut his aura down, and as soon as Merrill reached striking range, he ducked under the first few strikes, waiting until Merrill went for a thrusting strike, when he made his move.
He threw his right arm forward, lazily flicking the strike aside. His other arm reached forward, and as he touched Merrill's Armor, a blast of black energy exploded. He stared directly into Merrill with a red eye and a green eye. The only feature any of them would learn about him this encounter. He used the force of the push to retreat a few feet, again putting him in a patch of barren land near the edge of the crater.
"Interesting. Very interesting...".
He took a moment to casually look up, noting that the two blades had finally reached the ground with dual thuds.
"Girl, you have tried my patience. Stop now, or die. The fun is over now. It's time to test just how strong their "Faith, Their Light" is. You are outclassed. You will not survive if you do not leave now.".
He gave her a minute to decide what she would do. In the meantime, he looked at Warrior with an incurious look.
"What's your name, peculiar one? I do not recall your face before..."
Turning to Merrill, he shook his head, speaking with a condicending tone.
"You leave to much of an opening whilst you strike. A fatal flaw if one is too slow."
A dark tendril appeared out of his left hand. He raised his hand to the side, the tendril snaking its way toward Faith and the claymore. It reached Faith first, pulling the blade free of the deadened earth, and flung it to Warrior's feet. It then repeated the task of throwing the claymore to Merrill.
Finally, he raised his right hand, a void appearing just in front of him. He pushed the hand through the void, pulling out a sword. A large hand-and-a-half blade, made of solid black. The blade had some pattern embroidered into it, but none could see it from such a distance. He blade had something drip off the very top: an ooze that upon touching the ground, acidized the earth it touched.
"It's time we get serious. Come at me with an intent to kill. Fail, and you may die.".
His face, hidden, lost any form of emotion. He kept pushing them. He needed one to break. He houses the blade in his right hand, left forward and empty, motioning for the two swords men to attack him with everything they had.

"What's your name, peculiar one? I do not recall your face before..."
"..."
The guy was able to deal with Warrior's attack pretty well. Too well for comfort, that was for sure. And Remnant had already left, so he was on his own for now, but he had Merrill was here, so he felt pretty confident for that matter.
"It's time we get serious. Come at me with an intent to kill. Fail, and you may die.".
"If only one of us walks away, it defeats the purpose of knowing my name. I suppose that doesn't matter, since you could probably guess it and be right, but that's okay..."
Warrior kept his eyes on the mysterious enemy as he slowly knelt to pick up his sword, almost in a spiteful manner, as if upset at the way he disrespectfully threw Faith to the ground like that.
"... I'll carve it in your corpse, so they'll all know who killed you."
Harsh words for someone keeping their calm, but rest assured, Warrior's buttons hadn't been pushed quite yet.
"Let's go Merrill."
Warrior waited for Merrill's confirmation before closing in. He'd imitate Remnant today: following up his ally's attacks with a more supportive form of aggression. Merrill's horizontal strikes would be chained with Warrior's vertical ones and vice versa -- he'd strike inbetween his companion's strikes and cover him in his blindside.
Side by side, there was no doubt they could overpower this enemy.
((NOTE: Warrior's sort of "shadowing" Merrill's next course of action; I'm not necessarily waiting on Merrill to post before I take my action, but rather I'm time-lapsing it to happen in sync with his. That way the post order isn't messed up and I won't have to post twice this round. ))

She could only watch as again, this mysterious man evaded and blocked all of their attacks again. Her attacks again proved ineffective. She was starting to get slightly nervous. But she also felt exhilaration. She had never been in battle of such a magnitude. But she also hadn't battled an opponent in such a long time.
She also was fighting this monster with two unlikely allies. It was three on one. They could win... Couldn't they?
She dismissed her doubts. She needed to act, and quickly. She had spent enough time charging her attack. She shouted the words to her spell, and threw her arm forward.
"Glacies Vescia Offendo!"
A single, pure, snow white sword appeared out of thin air. Sharper than metal, stronger than the sturdiest rock, the blade shown with radiant energy as it sped towards its target, intending to pierce him through... She hoped the other two would b able to distract him until the blade managed to strike him...

Warrior's Tornadoes inspired Awe into Merrill. The raw power much surpassed his own. With that in mind, Merrill's last set of close range attacks was interrupted when the mysterious attacker blasted him back on his back. And it HURT. Life and Death were sent a few feet away, out of his hands.
"Umph!"
He quickly rose to his feet, stepping forward. He leaned over, and grabbed his blades out of his hands. Just in time to hear the conversation between Warrior and their Foe.
"...."
Harsh words indeed. Merrill agreed with his brother.
"You leave to much of an opening whilst you strike. A fatal flaw if one is too SLOW."
Merrill said nothing. He was correct. Merrill was trying, that wass for sure. His speed was surpassed by his brother, for sure, but he wasn't about to let this murderer get the better of him.
"It's time we get serious. Come at me with an intent to kill. Fail, and you may die."
Merrill raised his left hand holding Life. He pointed it at his foe.
"After all you've done... You will pay the ultimate price... For taking our family from us... We will kill you..."
He nodded as Warrior acknowledged him. They would fight as one unit this time. Merrill got in a fighting stance. Time seemed to slow to a crawl. Merrill took a quick breath...
With a dash, he moved in close. As he reached Striking range, he made a horizontal slash towards their foe's head. He went off to the left, knowing Warrior would go right. He put his body parallel to their foe, and slammed Death wide to the right, rotating around fully with Life following with a slash. He jumped back, then dashed forward at the back of their attacker. He then initiated a string of rapid strikes: a Vertical slash, followed by a horizontal strike. Then a thrusting strike with Life, then Death. He struck blow after blow, Knowing Warrior covered his strikes with a strike of his own. The four blades they used were a flurry of motion. They flashed with lighting speed. Again and again they attacked relentlessly, leaving no opening of the other unchecked. The pair was completely in sync. Merrill then went high and forward with a quick motion, a mix of a dash and a dive, rotation, thrusting both Life and Death forward, knowing Warrior would go low with a similar Strike.
Merrill turned around, and slammed both blades own, emitting a shock wave blast as Both Life and Death crossed forward and down, a finishing strike of sorts. The blast created a loud explosive noise. He then stepped back, keeping up his guard, waiting to see if they had defeated their foe.

The light of the sky breaks away, the shine of the network's artificial lighting dies. High above those within the network, the dome of data that represents the infinite sky pulses with a golden flash and begins to shatter in a display of surreal and other-worldly power. Piece by piece it shuts down, flickering with a gray static before disappearing. Behind it all, a fearful sight from centuries past, and a looming end with terrible inferences;
the network of Duo's meteor lays bare across the barren expanse, with a single active link within it; New Life. As those below look on, it quickly becomes obvious what's happening to any with knowledge of the ONB's current issues: Gate is in the process of attempting to hack Duo's Meteor Network, and New Life stands as the lone point of access between the two.

He smiled. As the two began their assault, he steeled himself. He slid his black blade forward, and waited for the incoming strikes.
*Ping!*
He raised the blade to deflect Merrill's horizontal strike.
*Ping!*
He blocked Warrior's slash as well. He jumped up over and behind the pair, avoiding their quick rotational strikes. As the distance again became negligible between the trio, he raised the sword again.
*Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!* *Ping!*
Blow after blow came in, and blow after blow was deflected. He did give them credit though, they performed their strikes flawlessly. The pair was completely in a synchronized unison. He kept up with them, occasionally preferring to dodge out of the way from a pair of strikes over blocking both or all four blades.
Then Merrill went high and Warrior went low. He slid to the side, Deflecting Merrill and almost pushing him through his dive with one hand. From there, he used his blade to deflect Warrior to the other side with a sweeping motion. As Merrill and Warrior made their finishing strikes, he raised his Aura, the dark purple energy absorbing the blasts, and the icicle as well.
He stood up. He took a deep breath. He admitted the pair were very talented with the blade. They would have made great allies, he admitted. But alas, he was here to finish what he started...
"I give you credit. You both are fairly competent. You have great skill with blades. You both do. I haven't enjoyed a battle like this is quite a while... But I have years of experience on you both. And the time is upon us. I have things to do and I don't have much time to waste. So It's time we accelerate this to it's climax!"
There was a sudden calmness to his threat. But there was no respite. There was a flash of shadow-like light, and he was gone.
"For all it was worth, my point still stands. You are not good enough. You couldn't save the viruses... And now..."
His voice was like a whisper to the three of them. However, with deadly accuracy, his words were like his needles as they pierced the ears of Merrill and Warrior.
"You couldn't save her."
His blade punctured her stomach. There was a sickening noise as he did so. He stared down at her, his face a mixture of malice and pleasure.
"You can't save anyone. You cannot protect anyone. You are weak for believing that you have the power to save them. You can only kill those who stand between them. But you aren't strong enough for that... Let that thought burn in your mind. Let that thought eat at your soul. the power of Love and Joy... It will be your undoing!"
He laughed, throwing her body at Warrior and Merrill's feet.
"I did give her a choice to flee. She was stupid not to take it..."
As the portal opened up, he had an idea. It played in his favor, really.
Without warning, he was upon Merrill in a heartbeat. He grabbed him with his free hand, lifting him up off his feet by his throat. He poked him with the edge of his sword. He whispered, barely loud enough for either of them to hear.
"Solvo Everto..."
As he did so, his blade pierced Merrill's armor like it was water. With a smile, it pierced his skin, forcing a scream of agony from him. And with the blood on his blade, both the spell and the poison started taking effect. He looked at Warrior, keeping his face hidden just enough to make all but his red and green eyes as well as a grin on his face visible.
"What are you going to do now? Will you save him? I'll at least give you the opportunity to save him. I don't want to destroy your spirit completely. Not yet, anyway."
He threw Merrill at the portal. He slowly rose off the ground, looking down at Warrior. He was curious to see how Warrior reacted. With the seal broken, all in due time would the wheels of fate begin to turn again.
[???? Knocked unconscious, lying at Warrior's feet.]

" ! "
He was still standing after that. They didn't even scratch him... With their efforts combined, Warrior or Merrill couldn't so much as graze this mysterious foe.
A feeling of failure rose up in Warrior's chest... looks like he was still more reliant on Remnant to put up a fight than he thought. But that depressed thought quickly turned to panic as the scene escalated before he could react.
"What are you going to do now? Will you save him? I'll at least give you the opportunity to save him. I don't want to destroy your spirit completely. Not yet, anyway."
"..."
He punctured Merrill's armor effortlessly. And that was saying something -- Merrill's defense was practically impenetrable, and to curse him with a poison that actually affected Merrill's unmatchable regenerative abilities was something Warrior thought was totally impossible up to this point in time.
So before him stood an enemy he couldn't beat; no amount of speed, strength, or skill that he could muster was able to stand up next to this foe's display of power. Even though he and Merrill worked together flawlessly, they'd have to perform beyond the point of perfection to face this one, and that was certainly something Warrior couldn't do alone right now.
So fighting the man right now was out of the question; even foolish when all things were considered.
There was no questioning Warrior's next plan of action -- even the cloaked man would have already known Warrior would dive in the portal after his friend without hesitation.
But there was hesitation; not to react, but to respond. He knelt down to pick up the girl and kept his eyes on the portal as he spoke.
"Watch us closely, enemy of my ally. We'll prove wrong your rebuke, and you'll feel our pain when we return to confront you."
With the girl in his arms, Warrior entered the portal.
The foe's words struck deep, but he knew better than to show it in front of him.
He'd be back to deal with this one when he was stronger, but now was not the time.

Nothing. Again, Nothing. Even with working in tandem, they were completely powerless against their foe. He blocked or dodged everything, which was quite a lot, considering four blades were flying around. However, what happened next, made Merrill fall to his knees.
Merrill again, was helpless as the girl was taken out. Tears lined his face. Twice in one day, he was completely helpless as his family was destroyed, and his life ruined. Add in that this girl was taken out. He wasn't able to save anything. But he didn't have time to willow in his despair.
As the blade plunged through him, Merrill screamed. His body couldn't reject the poison. It sent pain through his body. He couldn't breathe. His body went numb. Then, as the words were spoken, his eyes went wide, and his mind went blank.
*Thud*
*Thud Thud*
His heart started Racing. As he was thrown through the portal, his body started morphing...

He knew that it was a bad idea to say anything. But he would let that error slide in that he had assumed twitching was going to end poorly and it had. He managed to come back here, a bit confused actually. Why in the world would he end up in Sharo? Whatever. He should see about getting in touch with the others then, find something to do. This forest was an eyesore for him. Why did the life exist in a place that was so hard to inhabit? It should just give up the struggle and burn out, burn away.
"Even more annoying is destroying it won't change anything."
It would come back and continue as if nothing had ever happened. To spite him and deny his ideas. So he would set it on fire anyway just to prove that even if it would spite him, it wouldn't stop him from torching it whenever he felt like it. But not yet. For now he started walking to the center of the forest while calling those two to him. They could find somewhere a bit more...lively soon enough.

"So that's the gist of it, huh? Well that's new."
He had made it to the center and talked with the others. Zerix and Zaven usually were just scouting other areas to keep tabs on things quietly. They were good at that, or at least Zerix was. Zaven would just go about doing his own thing once he got bored. That was why he explained what happened that he remembered. Which practically was just Saul Kada exploding recently. The rest was all three of them being confused with their screwed up memory.
"Should we return to what we were doing or what? We don't know what could happen next after all."
"We'll play it by ear. Let's work our way through Sharo for now and then head elsewhere. There's a place that might have some info, but I doubt it. We can check it out anyway. Now then..."
They were in mutual agreement for what came next. A series of mirrors appeared, Zaven moving quickly as he fired several shots, each reflecting off of the mirrors before they went to Zerix next. The navi caught the blasts with his spear, twirling it as lightning surged through it before he swung at Zane, the lightning and lasers slamming into his left arm. And it coursed through his left arm, flowing through his body, amplifying itself, and going to his right arm before he slammed his fist into the ground. And all around them did fire burn out, blasting out with electricity and with the speed of the laser, the fire decimating the forest as they continued walking through Sharo, leaving the destroyed woods behind them.

((Been a while, just gunna tag ya here koga )) Amid the eternally frosted tips of the Arbor woods, a beam of light did arc down from the sky, landing and illuminating the otherwise dense forest. The cold environment biting even more than other areas, though it would likely be a warm welcome to an Ice navi like Kidd. The one who brought him here didn't seem particularly bothered by it either. The place was isolated, quiet, a good place for meditation.
Finally away from that wretched domain, the Undernet was a troublesome place but necessary regardless. That network in particular, the Dark Citadel, has never been a good place, not since a certain organization disbanded some time ago. Now it was only home to those with unsavory desires for chaos.
The winged navi shook Kidd's held hand once before letting it go, finally introducing himself.
"You'll have to pardon my urgency, I'm none too fond of that area. In my haste I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. I am Phenoix.EXE."
