When Shadow cuts at the barrier, it sunders. When the gash forms, it shatters. Before the group lies the slum of the net and the home to the dark... The undernet.

Shadow de-activated his arm blade after his strike, and started to frown as he watched the blob woman thing cut at the barrier as well before it broke down into code and vanished. He wasn't expecting, or wanting exactly, anyone to accompany him.
He stared at the weird being as she smiled at him, he wasn't sure exactly what it was. She didn't seem like any navi he had seen before, and lacked the ability to speak...all the better he thought. It was almost like she was a docile virus or something. Maybe if she was willing to listen to him...like a minion of sorts he would put up with her. Those in power had followers right? He would surely have some at some point if he achieved his goals. Why not start now?
Still, he wasn't one that enjoyed the company of others to much. He grunted, in acceptance apparently, and turned to enter the portal. Maybe it wouldn't be to bad having a follower for once...

Through her mind that was a library of meanings and translations from Electopian to Netfrican, Nu did not understand such gestures, but she recorded it on face value as “not a response.” She had simply taken to the gesture of the NetNavi’s gesture as not a definite threat as she simply followed behind him. The blob-like program had not been sure what she expected to find other than some valuable data. She was not very interested in the current NetNavi seeing he had proven to be very experienced and confident. No one attacked a confident man unless they were sure he was just cocky or arrogant. She would decide on that later, besides, it seemed from the look of his injury and her diminished strength, they could both use some company.
Nu had followed behind the golden trimmed NetNavi into the Undernet portal, escaping into dark void with not a feeling, but all of a thrill that she did not even know she had. She was hoping to feed and eager to find something worth feeding on in the dark and dank void that she crossed into. [bgcolor=black]The lithe navi stopped upside down on a sideways trees and pulled the directions out of a small satchel on her hip, completely disregarding the Undernet fiasco. Moments passed as she glanced at the paper, to another platform, and back to the paper, repeating the process several times before leaping to one and instead of reaching it was swiftly arced downwards, to another surface she had glanced at.
This place was weird, topsy turvy was an understatement, and chaotic was belittling to say the least. Navigating to where she was headed required flawless precision, even with the directions the navi had.
mmmm mmm♪♫
After awhile of this tedious process the precise navi landed on a platform with a couple houses. She turned to face the rest of Kotobuki(as by this time she was on the northwestern edge of the network) and sighed. Getting here was a bigger chore than she'd thought. The payment had better be worth it.
In one swift graceful maneuver the navi fell backwards into a spin and used the momentum to throw herself in front of one of the doors in an upright position. She knocked with the back of her hand.
Hey! Open up. I'm getting sick of this awkward heap of space.
===Minutes later===
Xeel really did get sick of this chaotic space, and stickied a note to the door "Xeel was here" and was off in a cackling electric blue beam of light.

*With a gust of wind, the form of AirMan breaks the light, standing in the central area of the Kotobuki network. Glancing around, he holds his hand in front of his engine and leans forward, allowing the tiny terror that had taken up residence within to slide out and land in the palm of his hand*
AirMan: It's no longer cold, so you no longer require refuge.
*AirMan then places Xyz on the ground and takes a look around*
AirMan: Ho-HO! The place, it hasn't changed a bit. Such a sight for sore old eyes....

Xyzillentz was so focused on his surroundings that he didn't even seem to realize he was being placed on the ground. This area certainly lived up to its reputation, full of seemingly impossible structures and signs of corruption everywhere. A possible nightclub location, perhaps? The neon signage WOULD go well with the spots of glowing, corrupted data, and there was a population center nearby...
"I can see why you like this place, Zephy..." The snake smiled at his new nickname for AirMan, one he'd just come up with on the spot. He was looking forward to seeing his reaction... when the moment was rudely interrupted.
"So can I." Unnoticed by the dastardly duo, their pursuer had teleported in nearby moments ago - and now he was making himself known. He was a recognizable figure; with his distinctive suit, blue skin, and the four power pylons adorning his back, there could be no question that this was ElecMan. "What I don't understand is why a respectable, noted criminal like AirMan appears to be allied with a useless insect."
The veteran villain gave a stern, disapproving glance to Xyzillentz before turning to face AirMan. "Luckily for you, I'm looking for a partner in crime myself. So I have a proposal for you, nice and simple. I fight your little 'friend' there, and when I beat him, I take his place at your side. It's best for both of us. Whaddya say?"
An airy, squeaky voice rose up in protest. "And if you DON'T beat me?" It was a point made from annoyance, not necessarily from confidence. ElecMan was enough of a criminal legend that Xyzillentz did not need to be told who he was or what he was capable of. And then there was the matter of his element... technically, Xyz knew he should be resistant to elec attacks. But he could still remember the memory burnt into his mind back in Element City's alleyways, when an electric navi had nearly destroyed him. In his paralyzing grip, Xyz had felt completely overpowered and helpless... moreso than he assumed was usual. Though he would not admit it, the possibility of experiencing that again frightened the snake.
ElecMan didn't bother to turn back to Xyzillentz when answering his question. "If I don't win, I'll go away and find someone else to bother. But it's not gonna turn out that way. So whaddya say, AirMan? Is it a deal?"

*AirMan turns to ElecMan and looks for a moment... this was a Navi once operated by Count Elec; one of the higher commanders of the WWW. However, he had found as much success in his ventures as anyone else, making him nothing special in the storm Navi's eyes. With a calculating stare, AirMan responds, a laugh under his breath as he speaks*
AirMan: Ho-HO! Playing the strong arm, hmm? But why bother? Where few fail, many succeed. Put asside your childish tantrum for position, and perhaps we may all speak of an accord together.
*AirMan's eyes then lock on ElecMan's clearly, his head lowering slightly to reveal the shine from the corrupted light that seems to flood the area from everywhere at once*
AirMan: Either that or continue this foolish game and ensure defeat like you've experienced so many times before. But should you choose to do so, then get out of my sight. Any venture you put your hands to will fail.... and I'll not tollerate failure that stems from such foolishness.

Well, that was easier than I thought. I'll need to get back at him for that failure remark later, but this might just work out... I guess he's not as into demonstrations of might as the Undernet gangs are...
ElecMan paused for a moment before nodding. "Well... okay, I guess. But I still don't see the point of having him around."
Xyzillentz spoke up again, a dangerous mix of annoyance and morbid curiosity compelling him. He was nervous, but using his acting skills to hide it as best as he could. "And what about you? You were well-known once, but you've been missing for years. How do we know you'll be useful at all? I think we should have the battle. As a chance for both of us to prove our worth. I've been meaning to try something." There was a bit more bite in his voice for the next sentence, though his elevated pitch did much to undermine it. "Besides, an ego like yours shouldn't go unchecked."
Finally acknowledging him directly, ElecMan turned to glare at the tiny Xyzie. "Well all right then. We can test one another in combat, pipsqueak." Another glance over to AirMan. "Do you agree not to interfere?"

*AirMan waves his hands in a dramatic manner*
AirMan: Go, go! Far be it from me to stop a good fight like this, when the reason is right. I'll even put 100z on the midget!
*AirMan laughs under his breath, then walks up to Xyz and pats the tiny Navi on the head*
AirMan: Go get him, little fellow. And remember; I'll be rooting from the side-lines.
*AirMan continues to laugh as he hands Xyz a sucker, apparently materialized from absolutely nothing, and walks away laughing.... he had caught the nickname earlier, and thought that the reptilian Navi's diminiutive stature came onto the table as a result*

At first, Xyzillentz seemed to ignore AirMan's... odd encouragement. This was only because he was concentrating on something else. Recently, he'd felt a power inside of him, something mighty and strange. Now it was time to prove to himself that he could harness it. For a moment he strained, trying to force it - and then he relaxed. And that was when the magic happened. A cloud of black smoke exploded outward from his tiny body, engulfing AirMan and billowing outwards until it was three times his size. Within, a bizarre, unspeakable transformation was occurring. There was a chorus of noises - stretching, tearing, smooshing, scratching - and as the cloud dissipated, it revealed Xyzillentz in a new form. His body was covered in scales entirely. His torso was now muscular and imposing. He was back to normal size. And most incredibly, his lower body had disappeared, replaced instead with a long, powerful snake tail. From mucous membranes in his armpits, torrents of a disgusting, green, toxic sweat poured out. Xyzillentz stretched and flexed his muscles in pride and astonishment... and then he turned to AirMan, speaking in a voice that had been restored to its regular range. "Oops, I guess I went through puberty. Don't worry, we'll always have the memories. Now it's time for your big boy to go to work."ElecMan, for his part, was taken completely by surprise. He tried to hide his shock and awe - but unfortunately, he was not nearly as accomplished a performer as Xyzillentz. "W-well... that's... nice. Maybe you aren't useless..." Realizing how foolish he was making himself sound, he struggled to regain lost ground. "...YOU'RE STILL GOING DOWN!"Despite his new body, the satisfied smirk on Xyz' face was instantly familiar. "We'll see..."

*AirMan simply sits there as the smoke towers up and engulfs him, simply closing his eyes as it moves in. After several moments, the sound of a fan can be heard and the cloud slowly drifts away, AirMan still sitting in the exact same position as he looks to Xyz's new form*
AirMan: Ho-HO! A new trick, I see. Don't worry too much though; my understanding is that puberty often brings an "ugly duckling" stage. Perhaps you'll grow into something tollerable by society some day!
*AirMan then leans back and laugh; the commentary was enjoyable, but the battle to come was sure to be far more so*
AirMan: Though one thing does bother me; where in the net are to find a terarium large enough to house you now, hmm?

Although he found the banter amusing - indeed a small smile was forming on his face - ElecMan had grown impatient waiting for the battle to begin. Hoping it would aid him against his newly impressive foe, he decided to make the first strike. Elec loosed a bolt of lightning from one of his gigantic metal hands. It arced through the air and hit Xyzillentz square in the scaly chest.
The naga grunted in pain and surprise, recoiling uselessly from the strike. It was an unpleasantly familiar sensation... and he could tell it had done a surprising amount of damage to him. It was obvious already that ElecMan had not lost much, if any, of his power during his long absence.
Immediately a disadvantage of his new form occurred to Xyzillentz. Without his helmet to fire blasts from or his porous skin to release gas, his ranged abilities were all but eliminated. And he wasn't terribly fond of the idea of touching a navi that was essentially a live wire actively trying to shock him. As such, he began his retaliation almost hesitantly. Lifting his mighty tail off the ground, he swung it in a rapid arc at his foe.
ElecMan ducked beneath the initial swing, but the tail came swooping back, catching him off guard. The impact was hard and painful as it slammed into his torso, knocking him off his feet. He struggled to get back up, pushing himself up onto his knees only to be floored once more by another swing. This one, too, was followed by a return trip. The tail slid along the ground, smashing into ElecMan's collapsed body and pushing it along like a hockey puck. He was sent skidding along for several yards before finally stopping, using his momentum to roll back onto his feet and lift himself up.
"This is really quite fun. Someone ought to put up a goal post." Try as he might, Xyzillentz couldn't keep the elation in his voice from sounding forced. The truth of the matter was that he was still extremely nervous of engaging ElecMan, even in this relatively indirect manner. At the same time, he was well aware that these strikes would not be enough to finish the battle before ElecMan put in devastating blows of his own. He needed something more powerful and direct - but he was hesitant to use it.
ElecMan, unaware of his opponent's complex mental state, gritted his teeth in frustration and barked out a retort. "Oh yeah? Let's see how fun you find THIS!" He thrusted one of his huge palms forward, and at once a glowing orb of powerful electric energy formed and shot through the air.
The projectile was too fast for Xyzillentz to dodge in his bulkier new form. It slammed into his chest, sending a shocking surge through his code and doing extensive damage. The noxious navi could feel the latent energy clogging his systems, threatening to damage him if he so much as moved. Luckily for him, this was a problem that could be easily resolved. He ran a Perfect Purge command, and the extraneous energy was washed out of his body - careful observation would reveal a slight increase in the volume of sweat coming out from his armpits at this moment.
Hurt, but far from defeated, Xyzillentz finally overcame his hesitation with a rush of desperate courage. "It would seem we'll both need to try harder, bolt boy!" He lashed out with his tail again, and ElecMan ducked to avoid it... a useless action as the tail descended and coiled around him, squeezing with an incredible force and crushing his body. For a few panicked seconds, he fruitlessly struggled against the ensnaring walls of scales and muscle, only to find himself totally trapped and immobilized. There were sickening sounds of popping and cracking as his body began to collapse inward from the frightful force of the constriction...
And then his mind cleared, and a worthwhile course of action revealed itself to him. He began by running a skill that repaired the crushed sections of his body, restoring their proper function. Then came the main event. A wicked smile appeared on his face as if in an instant. "Fine... I guess I'll have to CRANK IT UP!"
Power flooded through him, spilling out of his form and electrifying his skin and suit. His pylons, bursting with energy, glowed brilliantly. The electrification of his body immediately dealt damage to Xyzillentz, but there was more to it than that... it was as though ElecMan had spontaneously gained a version, and the strength that comes with it. Whereas previously he had been hopelessly overpowered by the crushing coils, now Xyzillentz was struggling just to keep him contained as his empowered body pushed outwards against the snake's tail.
Sensing an opportunity, ElecMan began using his hands and pylons as conductors - sending a destructive electric current directly into Xyz' body like a plug in a socket. The rancid reptile screamed in agony as his whole body was visibly covered in a layer of sparks, the unyielding flow of power wreaking havoc on his code. After just seconds of torturous torment, he reflexively released his prey, who landed on the ground with a solid stance and a newfound confidence.
At this same moment, the power of the naga form became too much for Xyzillentz to maintain. There was another explosion of smoke, and this time the naga's scales were sent soaring like throwing stars, slicing into ElecMan's body but doing little real damage. As the smoke cleared again, Xyzillentz was back to normal - including normal size - and, thankfully for those of delicate constitutions, his suit had reformed on his body.
"Now it's my turn to play with YOU..."

*AirMan watches the fight in silence, watching every blow. The new form that Xyz had revealed prooved to be highly formidable, but the raw power revealed from ElecMan.... it almost made the storm Navi feel uncomfortable, as it was fairly obvious that his new business partner was at a disadvantage at this point. Still, time would tell....*

Xyzillentz was already feeling weak and exhausted. He was happy to be back to his regular appearance, but the emotion didn't have much time to register. ElecMan crouched to the ground and sent a surge of electricity coursing through it. Xyzillentz jumped as the wave of energy neared, but it was pointless - he wasn't the target. Instead, the area itself had been changed - corrupted in some unfamiliar way. He could feel a charge hanging in the air that made him even more tense and frightened. This also served to distract him. While Xyzillentz was paying attention to the odd sensation enveloping him, ElecMan charged and tossed a series of four electric orbs. Each one smashed into the dangerously unaware darkloid, letting out the crackle of a dispersed charge and the singe of overheated flesh. They STUNG, like gigantic hornets, and the pain lingered - he'd been burnt, and rather badly, even through his suit. But that was no problem. He ran another Perfect Purge and - nothing. Nothing happened. The burns remained, a skill use expended uselessly. Whatever force had overtaken the area was making it impossible for him to cleanse his systems! In the painful, stretched-out seconds it took for Xyzillentz to realize this, ElecMan unleashed another vicious attack. The menacing power pylons on his back glowed like neon and shot an arc of electricity into the air, which swooped back down and entered Xyz' body like a lightning rod. The burns sent off screaming pain first, before the rest of his body followed suit. But this was no mere lightning strike. The beam of energy continued unabated, illuminating the area like a second sun. The deadly energy built up inside of Xyzillentz, filling up memory and data space reserved for his subroutines, his programs and skills... and still it didn't stop. He felt like a balloon being filled to bursting with pure pain, until finally every bit of free space inside of him was occupied... and it still didn't stop. The word came flying out of his mouth as if trying to escape from the tide of energy within him: "OVERLOAD!" Data spewed out of his system, spilling out from his mouth and dissipating in the air like steam. It was not the excess energy, but essentially functionality; reserve skill uses that were now gone. Finally the bridge of power disappeared. An overwhelmed Xyzillentz fell to his knees and struggled to remain even that upright. His mind was a chaotic mess, but one thought repeated amongst the maelstrom: Surrender. The snake had the self-awareness to admit defeat, and indeed he may have done so were he given the chance. Instead, another bolt of electricity came flying out from Elec's hand. This one was small, thin, and innocuous-looking; but in truth it was something incredibly insidious. When it hit Xyzillentz, it worked its way into his body like a parasitic worm and attacked his neural coding directly, latching onto it and short-circuiting his digital brain. His thoughts became clouded, stuttered, and frantic, and his body began to spasm uncontrollably. His limbs flailed about in directions they were never designed to, cracking and fracturing as they went. His jaw flapped up and down and side to side, his fangs puncturing his own mouth. Even the toxins and acids within him began to spurt out at random intervals. Because his suit was controlled mentally, it too went haywire. The vents opened and closed, the stripes glowed and turned off. By the time Xyzillentz regained control he had done considerable damage to himself. When he could concentrate enough to comprehend what he was seeing, he realized that ElecMan was clenching his hands together and firing off yet another beam of electricity. This one was a perfect headshot, lighting up Xyz' cranium like a bulb. All at once his movement processes seized up and refused to respond. He was paralyzed. In his panicked state he tried to purge the affliction, forgetting already the futility of the action - until, of course, it failed miserably. Resigning himself to his fate, Xyzillentz closed his eyes and waited. There was that sense at the back of his mind again, that dark, self-destructive sense of some perverse thrill from his immobilization. It was all he had right now. He held on to it. ElecMan's charged body slammed into him, knocking out his feet from beneath him and crashing his back to the ground, knees up in the air. More and more electricity coursed through his immobile form, tearing away at vital data, burning like a direct connection to hell. And just before his systems failed entirely, bringing him to the brink of deletion (and ultimately activating his DarkSoul), the barrage stopped. The weight on him shifted until it was isolated on his chest. Tired, hurting, and desperate for some sort of release, Xyzillentz let his head fall to the side and open, his tongue flopping out limply as he squinted an eye open to see what had become of the battle. ElecMan was sitting on top of him, a symbol of his conquest. One fist was raised in the air victoriously, and he was winking... at AirMan, perhaps? Or just at his own ego? The flood of energy that had so empowered him was beginning to dissipate into the air, but it wouldn't matter now. He helpfully, cheerfully explained why, shouting at AirMan. "THERE! I WON! I kicked snake boy's snarky ass! NOW whaddya think of me, huh!?"

*AirMan didn't say a word through it.... Xyzillentz had asked to be a part of this fight, and so he didn't step in to save him. However, he was not without thoughts on the matter. Standing up and walking up, he nears ElecMan as he sits on the toxic Navi, looking them both over before crossing his arms in front of his body*
AirMan: I think that you've earned the right to be our lackey.
*AirMan then motions to Xyzillents*
AirMan: You've still much to learn. All you've done now is incapacitated an ally in a show of worthless fury. Now we must take the time to repair him, all because you needed to drive a point home. Now kindly step off so we may restore our snake friend's fangs before someone finds us in a weakened state.
