JUDGE: (Pending) TYPE: Single Judge STORY ADVANTAGE: Active
LENGTH: 10 Posts per Person

*He had heard much about the navi, that much was certain. He always wondered if a day would ever come when he would see or hear of the legendary crimson warrior some day. The day had come, the navi coming before his eyes too. He wondered if all of the stories would hold true of the navi? Stories were only told by others oft times however, rarely were they true to the letter. He trusted the words of some and others he did not, knowing that he would be able to discern it all himself now.*
"It's time then."
*Crimson eyes opened, the crimson cloak flowing around him as the onyx black armor was untouched by all forms of light. Silver hair moving ever so steadily with the small breeze that had wafted by in the darkened wasteland he presently stood in. Genesis was actually looking forward to this, especially so after the time he had when he had seen and faced some others. Besides, he could possibly receives answers today as well. There was simply no better time than the now for that.*

*A beam of light pierces the darkness of the unstructured Net, hurtling into the ground and scattering the dust in a small cloud. As the crimson Navi takes shape and steps toward Genesis, he forces a small smile*
Zero: You've quite the renown these days, don't you? The leader of a major organization such as yours should, in any case, so it only makes sense that you command a bit of respect.
*Zero stops walking and draws himself to his full height. He holds out a hand, forefinger extended upwards, as if to present a warning*
Zero: You do realize, then, that I am curious to see not only your ability to fight, but to gain a sense for why you fight. Your purpose and passion are just as important as your ability when you command the respect of others.
*He lowers his arm to his Saber. Narrowing his eyes, he holds the hilt at the ready*
Zero: But perhaps the easiest way to determine such things would be to simply perceive these things personally. In combat, of course.
*The grin widens ever so slightly with the emergence of hte electrical buzz of the Z-Saber's blade*

"I still have much to learn myself. Bettering one's self is always a long road to take given how many paths are alongside it."
*Crimson eyes met the form of the navi of pure light, taking it in as he thought of the fight ahead. A smile came to cross his face at Zero's words, his right arm reaching out to the side as black data began to flow from it, the data solidifying as it formed a crimson hilt and guard before the black blade formed, the crimson symbols flowing onto its form before they flashed once.*
"I'll admit that respect is often times required for a leader, though it isn't something I desire from others. However renowned I may be, it'll all come to bear now whether or not it's true. I have things to ask you as well, such as your intentions for joining in the fight or where you ally yourself. What you may know that we don't given your sudden appearance."
*Letting his arm rest by his side, he knew that his questions would more or less be answered in the fight ahead. Perceiving things through combat was much easier than through conveying them with mere words. Words were often used to twist everything and even could be used to justify things that were more twisted than the words themselves. Through combat however, there was none of that. Simply the opponent and yourself, letting all of the more dire matters drop for the time being. Clinging to them all while fighting all of the time could interfere if one wasn't careful.*
"But most of all above all of this, whether you live up to what others say of you, or if you prove them differently in your own way."

Zero: Desiring something and commanding it are two entirely separate things.
*Zero slowly bends his knees and leans forward, bringing his saber to his hip and closing his eyes*
Zero: And as far as your questions... I believe the answers will become clear very shortly. Very, very, short-
*Before he finishes, his image vibrates quickly, then disappears from view. Not even a second later, a jagged split starts rocketing toward genesis, tearing through the net with all the ease of a knife through a glass of milk. The path it takes seems random, moving right, left, forward, each jerk more erratic than the last. It stops a few yards before reaching Genesis, replaced instead by two vibrating energy waves that cross over his body, both saw-toothed and vicious. Zero finally appears on the other side of Genesis, skidding to a stop with his Z-Saber held high*
Zero: More can be said of someone when he is fighting for what he believes in than at any other point in his life. I promise I'll give you your answers, in my own manner...

*Genesis' eyes narrowed slightly as Zero disappeared from view, eyes moving to try and catch his form. He certainly lived up to his speed, eyes darting to the left and right to keep up with his speed. Actually maneuvering at that sort of speed wasn't something that Genesis was able to do, but it was something that he could...two waves cutting across his form and into his arm in an instant as they closed the distance. Eyes moving down to his own form, hearing Zero behind him shortly afterward. Learning of one's opponent was key to any battle after all.*
"I suppose you're right there."
*The words spoken had referred to each of Zero's own, suddenly tossing his sword upward and into the darkened skies, turning around as he thrust his left arm out, a wave of energy blasting toward the crimson navi of light. Though a relatively easy attack to evade, it became more than apparent why the blade had been tossed skyward now however, a small flicker becoming ever so visible in the dark skies as a blast tore down from above, crashing down into the ground beside Zero before exploding out into the area. His left hand still outstretched, flashing once before another wave fired forth, twice as powerful as the previous one before it blasted off into a current of explosions, overtaking the as he raised his arm, catching his sword in his right hand as he let both arms rest by his side again. Energy slowly coursing around the gauntlets on both of his arms along with his sword, crimson eyes searching for what was to come next.*
"That works just fine in my opinion."

Zero: You must understand, first and foremost, that my title, coupled with this mark-
*Zero brandishes his left fist, which is adorned with the crest of Duo*
Zero: -Necessitates one thing above all others.
*Keeping track of the sword moving skyward, Zero positions himself to deflect the first wave of energy. Perfect positioning had always been a forte of his; training with a perfectionist for a mentor, not to mention a living tank, had made it so. However, as the bolt of energy tore the ground next to him, Zero began to act on pure instinct, realizing that he hadn't accounted for the blast in his initial plans. Using the Z-Saber as a pole, Zero leaps into the air and plants it into the ground, raising himself above the blast radius of the shockwave from the bolt by inches. The oncoming flurry of dark energy posed a more immediate threat, and simply moving around them didn't seem to be an option. Instead, the swordsman rips his blade out of the ground and adjusts the frequencies of the Z-Saber, changing the color of the blade from a bright green to a searing gold. The blade tears through the first wave of dark energy, totally unimpeded. With the second wave fast approaching, Zero can only react quickly enough to slightly deflect its trajectory, parrying the blow and turning his body out of the direct path of the darkness. The wave still manages to glance his shoulder, but without much visible effect*
Zero: I'm quite talented when it comes to dealing with dark energies.
*The humming of the Z-Sabers blade reverts back to its original tone as the green color returns; something, however, is different about the energy. The volume of the noise slowly increases, building upon itself in a slow crescendo, until it pulsates noisily like a caged animal waiting to be set loose on its prey*
Zero: JUHAZAN!
*Zero's most powerful single-strike attack with the blade was nothing to be trifled with, bending the net around the Z-Saber as the weapon whistled through the air. Putting the full force of his body into the overhead strike, Zero brought it crashing down onto... The ground, right in front of Genesis*
Zero: ENTSUIZAN!
*Using the recoil from the slash to propel himself upward, Zero somersaults directly over Genesis, inverting his body and looking down on his opponent from an eagle's perspective. The blade darts lizard-like from the sky and grazes Genesis' back as Zero continues his leap, firing several buster shots at Genesis. The force of the Z-Cannon rights Zero's trajectory, and he lands, poised again, several yards away*
Zero: It would appear that you have great power stored within you, yet you have not released it on me yet. Do you truly believe you can hold back and at the same time take on the entire ONB?

*The Crest of Duo, something he hadn't seen in some time. In the same amount of time he hadn't seen it, he had seen even fewer that actually were chosen by it. It was no real wonder that he was talented in this sort of thing, though he was actually impressed that he noticed it at the same time.*
"You're the first to notice in quite some time."
*In fact, only one other had said something similar to it. Albeit it followed with him being roughly assaulted and barely saving himself in time. That experience in its own way had helped him, mind going back to the battle. Zero had made it through the assault relatively alright, jumping back as he noticed the sword begin to pulsate, the blade crashing into the ground right before him. Zero using it as a recoil however, was an unexpected action, the sword grazing along his back as he was pushed forward, several of the shots crashing into him before he suddenly turned, bringing his blade to crash against the rest as the crimson aura expanded, absorbing those that remained. Mind going over Zero's words. It was true that holding back against them wouldn't pose much effect, nor would it be something he should do while fighting for the cause he was after. However, that wasn't the case in this situation.*
"Fighting against them and fighting someone I'm not entirely certain of their standing or motives are entirely different things."
*Raising his right arm and in turn his sword, sword Fate flashed as light swallowed the area as a whole before the light faded, Genesis no longer where he was. Black feathers were left behind in the wake of the light where he once stood, the very instant after Genesis being beside the swordsman as he dashed by quickly, a sudden sword stroke being unleashed alongside it. The sword still shining, though with a dull light as he swiped the blade twice more, the roar of the sword resounding through the area as black feathers seemed to fall constantly as a result before the blade suddenly changed shape, the blade becoming much thinner in an instant, now more resembling a katana. Swiping the blade once, or so it seemed anyway as with the one stroke, three tore loose instead, the blade having reverted back to its original state. The energy that once coursed willingly seemed to slow down, almost as though it was being kept in for something else. At the same time, the light began to intensify again after it had dimmed down.*
"I would rather ascertain my opponent's full standing before I simply fought them with my full force. If I'm left with no other choice however, then I'll fight without restraint."

Zero: Only true if your own motives depend on the motives of the one you're fighting.
*The swordsman holds his blade steady, attuning himself to his surroundings, hearing the air part beneath the feathers, waiting for the reappearance of his opponent. Before he could react-*
Zero: No one can move that fast, not even-
*The first strike comes at him lightning fast, too quickly to completely avoid the blow. Barely managing to put his Saber between himself and the attack, Zero is forced to recoil from the blow, losing his balance and twisting his knee in a painful fashion. Forcing the needling pain in his leg from his mind, Zero regains his stance and more appropriately parries the second strike away. Prepared for the third strike, the swordsman catches the large sword on the side of his blade, using the larger weapon's momentum to throw Genesis off balance. Zero plants a fist in his opponent's back, using his weapon to catch each of the katana strikes. After deflecting the assault, Zero locks blades with his opponent and returns the crimson stare*
Zero: To wait for your opponent's motives... Such a tactic will always put you a step behind. And in battle, there can be no falling behind.
*Planting a foot against Genesis' thigh, Zero forces himself away from his foe, preparing for the next assault*
Zero: Tell me more of your organization. The Revolution... A group of Navis with the sole purpose of refusing to register under the new system. I might ask why you so oppose the new system, but then I might not ascertain your purpose. Perhaps the better question is, why form an organization that would respond to deletion with more deletion?

*He had managed to parry efficiently even after that, huh? That was rather impressive to say the least. At the same time, he had managed to get off a counter of his own, even forcing them into a deadlock.*
"In a battle of attrition, falling behind is always a vital error that shouldn't be made. In a battle of discovery, this in turn could lead to new things."
*Genesis was set off balance by Zero's using him as a footstool, crimson eyes not losing their deadlock on him for a moment. He wasn't going all out with his crazy speed like he had at the start, which put him in plain sight just like anyone else would be. Rather than focus on the offensive, he would save that for now.*
"Each of us have different reasons for it. Some feel that it's wrong to put labels on those who have fought so hard for the peace everyone desires, for the lives they've earned. Others feel as though it's simply a brand put on us to keep track of us, to make them slaves to the will of others in the long run. Some even feel that the system is simply corrupt because anyone can just register as they so choose and not come unto any issues, like those who dwell in the ways of darkness. Words became pointless after so long with them, something you should have witnessed yourself, and everyone can only be denied for so long while they're hunted or persecuted without end."
*Letting his blade arm rest by his side, the energy that had just began to show itself previously started to make its move now. Snaking its way from his sword and through his body, it found its way instantly into his left arm, raising it to be level with his face at this point, crimson eyes no longer merely calm, hardening and becoming sharp.*
"When diplomacy fails, when words fail and you are simply hounded regardless, what option would you choose? To break, to bend, or to resist? If you chose not to register and chose not to fight at the same time, eventually you would simply meet the same fate as various others. You would just be wasting time clinging to something that simply wasn't. You would be wasting what life you had already earned."
*It was at this point when Genesis clenched his open hand into a fist, the energy in his arm simply...vanishing as a whole. Zero noticed the on all four sides of him, the ground began to flash more and more, the same flash forming in the air in front of him. Crimson orbs flashed, before it all happened at once, massive explosions of energy blasting off in large domes of explosions that expanded even more like a ripple effect constantly being triggered. The calm returning to his eyes, but the same sharpness within them.*
"At the same time, the situation itself is only once again caused by the very same source every effect stems from. Pushing the edges and borders time and again before everything either drops back to where it was, or an even more deplorable state than last time."

*The explosions roar to life around Zero, sending him skyward. All of a sudden the pains of battle return to Zero, and he is brought back to his training with his mentor. To say the least, this was not the first time he had been sent flying by an explosion. He finds a way to right himself in the air, and activates his thrusters just in time to skirt the rest of the residual explosions*
Zero: Perhaps I have not heard enough of the events that transpired and brought about the licensing system. Please, feel free to elaborate. And enough with the explosions.
*Zero sheathes his saber and lets his guard down*
Zero: As I understand, the current system calls for all Navis to register themselves with a specific serial number. Using this number, the ONB keeps track of each individual member of the Network, and can more efficiently respond to each of the Net's residents. At least, this is the theory; of course, there is always a way to corrupt something this powerful, given a malicious intent. I have yet to see this intent, but I have at least seen the effect. Innocent Navis, cut down simply for refusing to conform. Now, I have yet to speak with Suki about this, but suffice it to say that this punishment is totally unjust.
*Zero takes a few steps aimlessly, breaking his gaze away from Genesis*
Zero: I'll concede that, when it comes to the larger issue of whether or not Navis should register, I agree with you. I myself would in fact qualify as an unregistered Navi, but, because of my track record, no one has pursued me to this point. I expect this to change soon enough. But then the question becomes, what should I do at that juncture? Should I join the Revolution, make my sole goal the eradication of the licensing system? Perhaps, as that would eventually solve my immediate problems. But could I live with the the data of innocent Navis on my hands as well? I would surely have to destroy all those who would impose the will of the ONB on me, and not just those who are already members.
*Zero stops, turns back to Genesis, and continues*
Zero: I must confess, I am entertained by the idea of joining the Revolution. Surely there are good Navis therein. However, I must trust my ability to resist arrest in my own form. Tell me, have you not considered other forms of resistance? History is filled with fugitives, many of whom have changed the course of their lives simply by staying underground long enough to change the world. And I can assure you, they did not do so through the eradication of their foes.
*Zero narrows his gaze, and asks his next question*
Zero: I would like to know what your ultimate goal is. Is it truly just the eradication of the licensing system, or do you have malicious intent toward the ONB? I can assure you there is more at work here than simple political motivation, so consider your response before you answer.

*His ultimate goal...it was something he had put some thought into for a large portion of his travels. Before he had simply wandered, facing off against those who were known throughout the network or even those who had no renown at all. All of it back then was for the simple test and the enjoyment of it all until things would propel out of hand drastically. Often times it shouldn't have ended up as bad as it did, but decisions and judgment calls had as much of a hand in it as the ones there themselves.*
"I have nothing against the ONBs. While fighting beside them years ago, I can say that I have respect for Commander Suki and several of those in their ranks. Fighting beside her also let me understand that she wouldn't simply be entirely for something like this as well. Eradicating the system is the main deal, along with ensuring that it wouldn't happen again. How to make that possible isn't so clear, just like whatever is truly behind this. Time is short and discerning just what that is before things escalate even further however."
*Genesis let his arm fall to his side at Zero's actions, seeing as he had sheathed one of his primary weapons. He wasn't someone who would attack suddenly and while his opponent was off guard at that.*
"The licensing system itself spawned because of an unknown navi known simply as the 'Criminal'. There exists no records of him, no findings or actual evidence of who he is or what he's after. As completely unbelievable as it is, with no way of finding him, the system was initially installed simply as a means to likely isolate and eliminate him. Obviously, the system has failed to play this role in all of the time it has been active. Instead, it turned its focus on everyone that simply didn't conform to it and we get what we have now. This is more than likely just the tip of the iceberg at that."
*Regardless of all of these measures that were taken to find one single navi, everyone as a whole had been affected by it. As such, everyone were either treated as targets or allies because of it, and it all came down to a simple thing like Zero himself said: a serial number. Being attacked for fun would be more meaningful than being attacked over something like what was going on now.*
"Joining the Revolution is one way to fight against it, but not the only way. Some have chosen to resist while not joining, even those in a place of power. Various methods for how to oppose it have been considered, but as history is repeated, history is also often times more demanding in its second running. While I can also agree that destroying innocents is a wrong act, innocents more often than not are not pointing a weapon at you. To be honest, it wouldn't be too far off to say that a fair number of those siding with the Registration are doing so saying that it's for justice because the ONB itself sides with it, or that those against it were regarded as evil for opposing them. For everything we fought for, that can be seen as clear as the sky for how easily someone can be judged so simply."
*It was ironic. Not even funny in its own way, simply what it was on how easily they all could be swayed into fighting one another. Always banding together to fight a common threat before they once again began to prey on one another over something else. Some would say that there was no helping it, others would say that it was just wrong. It simply showed how difficult it was for things to truly change, crimson eyes looking dead ahead before meeting Zero's own.*
"And what do you plan to do of the situation? Hunting after the one responsible, the one constantly lurking within the shadows? It would be something of an ideal thing to do, better than simply facing one's enemies and destroying them all. And yet despite this, with no information about this specter, all ways of finding him are practically impossible. And all the while this is being done, they simply continue to tighten their grip on everyone else."

Zero: Interesting, to say the least. I had not heard the story of the elusive Navi that started this conflict, and it shocks me that things have spiraled so far out of control. If I were to venture a guess, I might think that the initial system was seen by some greater force as a quick way to take control of a vast majority of the Navis currently active on the Network, and as such was perverted from a criminal deterrent into something much more sinister.
*The swordsman idly twirls the hilt of his Z-Saber in his hand, pondering his own actions since his return. Battle after battle, and still he had come no closer to his purpose*
Zero: As for my own intentions; not knowing of the "criminal" of which you speak, I could not have possibly returned to seek out this Navi and thus invalidate the entire registry system, although that course of action presents an interesting opportunity to pressure the ONB into removing registration all together. I must tell you that, while your concerns are valid and your intentions well-placed, there is always a greater force at work in troubled times. When has one small issue, such as a missing criminal, ever sparked all-out war? Catalysts always bring a simmering conflict to a boil, but no individual event will ever cause two powers to fight each other to the death.
*The blade of the Z-Saber roars to life. It's blade reflects off of the blue mirrors in its master's eyes*
Zero: My investigation, and the purpose of my return, will not be complete until I have determined the powers truly forcing the hands of the ONB and those who would oppose registration. Once I have done so, I will rally those who I can against the growing conflict, and attempt to defuse the situation before we see the rise of another tyrant. I see something more at work in Gate's patronizing of other Navis; I see something more at work in Suki's unresponsive state; I see something more at work in the political aspirations of the WWW. Most importantly, I believe I see something more in you and your organization. But then-
*The sword dances around Zero's body before coming to rest at eye level, aimed directly for Genesis*
Zero: As I've said before, there is but one way to confirm your beliefs; to test them. Your move.
(OOC: Salem, so long as Gen gives you the go ahead I'm more than fine with you judging ^_^)

*It was a possibility that it was being used by someone else. Whether that someone else was a navi....or a human was a different issue. The licensing system to his knowledge hadn't been suggested by any of them, but it was supported by them. No, instead the ones who were the exact reason for so many problems for creating them on a whim and doing whatever they pleased often times was humanity itself. It'd be nice if that were the chance, it would make how to solve this all that much simpler in his opinion. So Zero himself wanted to avoid the conflict between themselves and remove the catalyst to the events instead. Until he found out what it was or where they were, he would continue moving forward in his own way.*
"From your motives, it doesn't quite make you my enemy. However, I'll fight you to the best of my abilities. You won't be able to ascertain them well if I hold back, would you? I expect the same from you of course."
*Genesis gripped his blade in both hands, the same flash of light blasting forth from his sword, the feathers being left behind as Genesis went on the offensive. Except this time as Genesis closed the distance, the same flashed occurred again, the feathers left behind again as Genesis came from above the crimson swordsman. This time however, he swiped his cape forth, a void of nothingness present before the swordsman as all turned black all around. It were these key preparations that were set together to bring out what he had planned, something hidden within the feathers themselves. A piece of Fate rested within them, the fragments letting loose a tornado of energy that blasted upward while one forward, entrapping the warrior as his sword returned the fragments onto itself, the energy that he had gathered at the start of the fight preparing to be unleashed. The dark aura rose up from his form, before it faded and the crimson aura around his onyx blade intensified, bringing the blade forth in ten fast strokes, stopping at that.*
"Revelation."
*The ten cuts all revealed themselves at once, the lines traced through the tornadoes as the energy itself was rent asunder, the strikes aimed to cut through his present adversary, the ground itself being torn by the attacks. He was more eager to see how Zero himself would respond in kind. While he made his intentions clear, he wanted to see how greatly the legendary navi could represent them.*
(( Salem + Judging = Gewd. Also sorry on the wait. XD. Got distracted a bunch today. ))

Zero: But of course. I wouldn't dream of holding back now.
*Gritting his teeth and preparing for the assault, the warrior studied his opponent's peculiar set up to his assault. Feathers seemed the perfect cover for the latent power within; innocuous, docile, something to be held gently, not feared. However, together in the storm, they posed a significant threat. In Zero's experience, blades could transform even the most harmless of materials into tools of destruction. Unfortunate, then, for Genesis, that his build up was so telegraphed*
Zero: Quite a nasty attack he's prepared... And all in that flux. Impressive to say the least. And not something I'd like to be caught on the wrong end of.
*Instead of darting around the oncoming assault, Zero buckles down and brandishes the Z-Saber, then hurls himself headlong into the attack. With a roar, he brings his blade over his head, aiming his strike directly at his foe, hurtling full-throttle into the fray, and sending the Z-Saber crashing down into nothing; the swordsman executes the feint flawlessly, passing right by his enemy and skidding to a stop behind the wall of power, safe from the brunt of the assault*
Zero: Darn...
*Looking down at his breastplate revealed the flaw in his plan; that flaw was plainly evident in the slash mark across his chest. In his rush to draw his opponent off-balance, Zero had miscalculated his first maneuver, and the first strike had caught him just before his acrobatics carried him to safety. He had made a careless mistake, to say the least, and it could have well cost him his life*
Zero: My apologies. I appear to have lost my focus for a moment. I assure you...
*A gleam appears in the Navi's eyes; not a sinister one, not a jovial one, just a small gleam, noticeable only upon close inspection*
Zero: It will not happen again.
*Moving his blade upward in a swift motion, Zero leaps into the air, sending an initial blast of energy from the blade hurtling through the sky, inches above Genesis' initial position. Dashing forward to keep pace with the blast wave, his intention became clear; the destructive pulse was intended to keep Genesis grounded, not to contact him directly. Besides, as he had it figured, his opponent would be a fool to take that blow. Now at point-blank range, Zero halts his dash abruptly, hurling his fist toward Genesis with all of his might. Of course, only a fool would be caught off-guard by a wild haymaker, so it came as no surprise when Zero pulled the punch short, using its momentum to throw a sharp kick into his opponent's knees. Now facing opposite his foe, Zero draws his blade once more, putting the full force of his lower body into one piercing stab through Genesis' midsection. Withdrawing the blade, the swordsman displays the best of his footwork, turning and dancing to the right of his opponent, clearing only enough space to place himself at the edge of his weapon's range. Using the saber as a guide, Zero plants a hand on the ground, and, quite like a break-dancer, throws his feet into Genesis' face, activating his thrusters and sliding on his shoulder to a position several yards away*
Zero: I'm afraid I've been slacking. I will no longer reserve my advanced attack patterns.
*Grinning, Zero lowers his head slightly, staring at Genesis through the top of his helmet*
Zero: Perhaps if you can keep up, you'll understand more of my intentions here... And for you.
