ScenarioFighters: Megami and Merrill Posts: Five “In-Battle” Posts Judge: --- Version Bonus None Fight Style: Free-Style/Team
It was a bittersweet chill…
The moment Megami had materialized into the Network Border area, she had begun to let her program shift her clothing attire. The pixels along her body that were her white robes broke away and reformed a fancy winter get-up: furry dark brown jacket that dropped to the hips with brown boots to match. The sill edges and boot cuffs were furry and a lighter shade of brown while her chestnut colored hair held a ponytail because of the light brown scrunch hair piece. Stepping forth, slowly, she had changed her pace as she had felt the terrain under her more “slippery” than it was supposed to be to her memory, and the dazzling small speck of white that came before her vision.
She gasped, breath, and lifted her hands to her chest…
“Oh my goodness!” she had cried in surprise, “It‘s so beautiful!”
Megami had gazed out towards the landscape. The area seemed to be clustered full of dirt…or was it? It piled up like it, but was a glistening crystal white. It left a coldness to it’s form, and texture was more crunchy and held together more easily. Her eyes had sat sight on the small white flakes that dropped before her eyes as they seemed to cluster and gather along her clothing before melting away in the small tufts of fur on her body. She had smiled and giggled seeing it so strangely melt away, but looking to the display screen that suddenly popped up, she was most excited to see the face of her gentle NetOp with his wondrous blue eyes.
Oh! Xenneth! You must see!“” the NetNavi cried, “Such beautiful white texture is pouring from the cyber sky! It seems like dirty…or maybe some type of ‘rain‘ like your world?”
Xenneth had tilted his head before giving the backdrop of the area behind Megami. He made an awkward face while smiling with a single bead of sweat rolling down his forehead. The NetNavi’s clueless knowledge never ceased to amaze him: at times, it seemed like she knew everything, but at others, it seemed like she was a little child experiencing the world for the first time. Looking to Megami, the NetOp had shook his head a little passively.
“Oh, it‘s…something like that Megami…” he had stated, “It‘s frozen water in a slushy form. It‘s called snow.”
The NetNavi blinked with an astounded expression. “Snow?” she had asked before looking about her surroundings. Her eyes had looked up to the sky constantly pouring down with the texture while she had gazed upward. A small speck of the snow touched the tip of her nose making her close her eyes and breathe out a warm breath of air before opening her eyes and giggling feeling her moist tip of her face. She lowered her face before tossing her head and shaking the small wet crystals about, slinging them before she had saw the pine trees and winter back drop of the Sharo border.
“This world is so interesting…” Megami had said with delight, “If your world is like this, then I bet it is even more amazing since people like you are there!”
Xenneth blushed a deep shade of red upon his cheeks. The conversation turning awkward as he stared at Megami who was dreamy eyed. It almost made him wonder about the young female NetNavi and her carefree manner. It was like she really was human compared to NetNavis and other programs he had witnessed for himself.
“Shall we go?” Megami had asked as Xenneth snapped out of his stare towards the NetNavi who turned her body in a particular frosty path of ice. “The Sharo ONB are is that way according to the Map!”
Xenneth nodded, agreeing as his face blushed a deep red once more. “Oh…right!” He had said suddenly as Megami had begun to proceed forth towards the Sharo Borderline. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Holoska (Day)“ from Sonic Unleashed: BGM CollectionIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: -- Topic Quotation: Megami‘s Thoughts[/size]53

As Megami walks forward trhoughout the snow covvered tarrain, a young navi also can be found wandering though. He walked with a quick pace, his body hardly unnerved by the snow. As he was walking, he thought to himself, pondering, searching. Upon his right sholdier, his firey compainion, Healer sat, creating a warmth and a light for the group to see. Moving along side Merrill and his companion, was a butterfly and a dragonfly. THe butterfly had sparkly rainbow wings, whil the gradoonfly had black and gold wings.
After walking for a time Merrill finally spoke.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"The snow.. so white... so pure.. so beautiful... Man, which our faction still existed... It was beautiful there..."[/glow]
He continued to walk, his white transformabble wings in their butterfuly form, kept close. THe bright blue-green crystal on his forehead glowed softly, in a warmly manner. His pure white hair was near lost in the snow covered land, like camoplage. He continued to ponder his thoughts when he noticed a figure up ahead in the distance. He did a double take, before realising that it was indeed a person. A woman. He thought to himself, before approching.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]" What? Wonder what she is doing out here. I hope she is ok.."[/glow]
The small posse moved forward, getting closer. Finally, when Merrill was close enough to talk, he waved and spoke.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Hello there! Are you alright?"[/glow]
He asked, with a bow.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"I am Merrill Heckentash. These are My companions, Healer, Sunruku and Lunaku. It is a pleasure to meet you. How are you, may I ask?"[/glow]

Cold as it was, Megami, still trekked endlessly across the Sharo Borders. Her hands were cold, and so she tucked them into a fold after warming them with a blast of her breath. Her eyes perked open as if realizing how dense she was in that moment, and upon her fingers after closing her eyes, she had tampered with her “Divinity” Program and materialized a pair of beige gloves over her hand that matched the lining upon her boots. She had smiled before tossing her scarf around her neck and continued to walk through the bitter cold.
“Oh my!” she had breathed with her eyes closed in a blissful suffering, “For such beautiful sight, this “Snow“ is certainly a hampering to the body. Is it always like this in your world too, Xenneth-kun?”
The violet haired NetOp’s face had shown a smile as he reached to the side of his head and scratched with a single index finger through his hair. It was an awkward question, but mostly because he could not remember going outside much to experience the snow. All by his lonesome, he had sat tucked away in the house. He could remember the only time he had went outside, and he rushed right back in after being pelted by a snowball from a cute girl that was playing with a group of friends. They swore he was like an abominable in the winter just as much as he was in all the other seasons.
The “Abominable Snow Xen!” They would joke. ”He lives inside with a beautiful End City Queen, and the Princess she brought along with her, and was their little pet!”
The rumors caught wind of little Rosy D’s ears, and she would laugh at it until she realized how unhappy it made Xenneth. Smiling gently, in that melancholy way to mask his depressive mood, Xenneth had taken in some of the positive of sharing this experience with Megami.
“Yeah…” he replied weakly in his shy voice, “It‘s that way here too.”
"Hello there! Are you alright?"
Xenneth had lifted his eyes as he heard the voice from within the computer. It was other than Megami, and watching longer, he could see from his display, which was a vidscreen on the network centered behind Megami, a NetNavi that had approached her. The Goddess-like NetNavi had lifted her head as she had come to realize that she had someone approach her. One of many who had opened up with words of casual greeting other than their astonishment of her presence and who did her “customizations” which she was beyond her knowledge seeing she had become the way she was under such circumstances.
Bowing graciously, she had acknowledged the guest as her head tossed enough to reveal her long brown sleek chest nut hair.
“Greetings!” she had welcomed with her usual unfazed optimistic charm, “Yes, I am fine! I am just being affected by this atmosphere of what you call…”Snow.”” Megami had said with curious eyes as she lifted her right hand, opened her palm, and caught within it a simple single flake before it melted within her hand and dripped away into water data. She had blinked as if astonished by a sight that was rare to her, like a newborn’s experience.
"I am Merrill Heckentash. These are My companions, Healer, Sunruku and Lunaku. It is a pleasure to meet you. How are you, may I ask?"
“It‘s nice to meet your acquaintance Merrill,” she had responded just as unchanging in her fluid kind tongue as always, “I must comment on how strange, but kind of you to ask twice of my current condition. I can see you‘re very friendly to be concerned!” she had said with a giddy toss of her shoulders that made her ponytail bounce. A giggle escaping her lips as she said no more as she was intrigued by the figure. Xenneth could only remain as shy and as quiet as ever as he looked on wanting to be invisible in the conversation seeing that he was still shy of others.
“My name is Megami.EXE, and this is my NetOp, Xenneth-kun!”
With the hands of the young woman tossing out like she was introducing the young boy for a curtain call, Xenneth had never been so dumbstruck and caught off guard in his life. However, he was just as nervous as always as he picked his head up in that shaky manner as usual. His blue eyes and opened mouth made the heart-shaped tattoo on his cheek wrinkle from being mentioned. It was like it changed to represent his chaotic emotions of embarrassment that he displayed every single time.
“Xenneth-kun? Was it not proper that I introduce you as well seeing you were my friend just as they are to Merrill?”
Megami had frown in slight confusion wondering if she had said something wrong.
“No, t-t-that was right!” the NetOp corrected the moment he saw the expression change. His hands were in the camera of his P.E.T as across the vidscreen, Megami saw him modestly waving them about as it and his reply confused her as he was so drastic. She did not read much into it, but nevertheless, she had turned back to Merrill’s direction only to drop her nose to the pure white ground before her as she thought heavily on her actions.
“Really, I-I-it‘s fine…” Xenneth had said before dropping his chin and blushing as his blue eyes juggled their focus on the NetNavi Megami was in the presence was, “I‘m just not use to talk to others. Umm…hello?” Xenneth had said lifting his hand in an open palm and empty wave as he closed his eyes shyly. Megami seemed to smile passive of the situation as she was pleased by the thought that she had gotten how to practice her “social skills” correctly.
The very unknowing NetNavi, and the shy, cradled little boy were a strange pair indeed. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Holoska (Day)“ from Sonic Unleashed: BGM CollectionIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: -- Topic Quotation: Megami‘s Thoughts[/size]

Merrill nodded. As Megami introduced herself and Xenneth. He waved back to Xenneth, noting his shyness. He was nervious, but Merrill posed them no harm. caution never hearts. Merrill hoped Xenneth was ok.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Tis a pleasure Xenneth, Megami. My operator, is not with me.. Infact, I haven't seen him in quite a while..."[/glow]
He looked around. Xenneth and Megami were an interesting pair. However, he liked them. They seemed to have their hearts in the right place. Merrill looked at Megami, and noticed the crystal on her forhead... It was a surprise. He hand never seen anyone else with a crystal on their forhead like him before... She wasn't a Heckentash though, she had no wings, nor the white hair. Still....
Refocusing, he looked away. He didn't want to seem like a creeper or anything. He focused on the show. He opened his wings fully for a moment, shaking off all the snow, and warming the joints.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"So, Megami, what are you doing out here in the snow covered lands out here? Seems like an iffy day to be traveling..."[/glow]
Then, He asked Xenneth a question.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Hey Xenneth, are you ok? We don't bite. We are peacemakers, guardians and helpers. Your among friends."[/glow]
He smiled, hoping that he could thelp the pair. Healer warmed up the area a little bit. SHe looked at Merrill, and then smiled at Xenneth and Megami. Sunruku and Lunaku continuted to hover above Merrill's shoulders.

"Tis a pleasure Xenneth, Megami. My operator, is not with me.. Infact, I haven't seen him in quite a while..."
Megami was slightly confused, but if anything, interested. A NetNavi that acted on a whim without a NetOp was a fascinating thing. It was rare to the female NetNavi. Mostly she had seen NetNavis operate upon an automatic processing process and free will for businesses, but she had not known of NetNavis to walk about and socialize like regular people. As far as she had seen, or experienced, at most, other NetNavis seemed to always be busy as if they were actually machines.
"So, Megami, what are you doing out here in the snow covered lands out here? Seems like an iffy day to be traveling..."
“Iffy?” Megami asked with a slight lift of her head as she heard the NetNavi, “But it‘s so lovely outside!”
Turning around, Megami had let her eyes go across the open area of snow and frost. She had not been too “aware” of the conditions snow can cause to someone. Xenneth did not want to ruin her bliss. He was sure she would figure out given the circumstances in which they had met which involved the NetNavi saving his life from a locked house that’s temperature started to drop lower than the inside of a deep freezer. It was a very memorable event since that’s when they became best friends.
"Hey Xenneth, are you ok? We don't bite. We are peacemakers, guardians and helpers. Your among friends."
“Oh! Well,” Xenneth had begun while wavering his hands about in front of him, “I-I‘m okay. Really! It‘s nothing! Sorry!” he had tried to speak while not offending them. Someone telling him ”It‘s okay” still wasn’t good enough to steel his nerves. Megami understood his feelings more than anyone, it was like she was stepping out into a brand new world, and if he was as closed as off as she was new with the experiences, he might have felt a bit uncomfortable.
“He‘s quite alright!” Megami had said happily, “We‘re don‘t mean to offend. I have never experienced the net too long before, and I am Xenneth‘s first Custom NetNavi he has seen.” the boy had heard Megami and nodded as a warm blush come across his face.
“Y-yes…” he had finished, “I‘m sorry, I‘m just not so good with socializing, including with NetNavis. You‘re a custom-type NetNavi, right?” the boy had asked curiously trying to interact with Merrill. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Holoska (Day)“ from Sonic Unleashed: BGM CollectionIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: -- Topic Quotation: Megami‘s Thoughts[/size]

Merrill nodded as Megami and Xenneth spoke. THe pair seemed personalble, and Xenneth did seem ok, just shy. Merrill respeced this of him and Megami as he spoke.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"To answer your question, Xenneth, Yes. I am a custom built navi. My operator created me, however... was extreemly lenient of his on control. We have always been together since my "Birth" per say. We were split appart a few years ago, managed to reunite, and were sadly split up again when we decided to return."[/glow]
Merrill sighed. He missed Diamond, but he knew they would be reunited shortky. He was sure of it. Turning to Megami, he spoke again.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"The net is a wonderious place. However, we must always be on guard. Esspecailly when the weather can start acting up."[/glow]
Just then, the snow started to fall a bit faster than before, and the wind picked up, reducing visiblity some.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"So, Where are you Headed Megami? I think it would be best to travel as a group for now. Whaty do you guys say?"[/glow]
Healer brightened her warming flame, as the weather worsened. The butterfly and Dragonfly sat on Merrill's shoulder right next to Healer, staying warm.
[Xen, If you want, we can start the battle on your next post, or the folloing round after than. I leave the choce up to you sir. ^_^]

"To answer your question, Xenneth, Yes. I am a custom built navi. My operator created me, however... was extremely lenient of his on control. We have always been together since my "Birth" per say. We were split apart a few years ago, managed to reunite, and were sadly split up again when we decided to return."
“Separated from your NetOp?” Megami had exclaimed in a worrisome voice, “That‘s so sad.”
Megami was regretful, as was Xenneth who had brought the subject up. He always had a bad way of speaking, and literally put his foot in his mouth at times when it came to speaking on certain subjects. He was not good with socializing since he seemed to touch the worst subjects and memories, and most of the time he felt terrible thinking he was some sort of parasite to people who dug deep and pulled out their worst and ugliest thought.
“Umm, s-sorry I brought it up.” Xenneth had said shakily, “I just didn‘t know that you were a Custom NetNavi without a NetOp, and it‘s…something I never seen before.” he had explained only paining himself as he forgot that once again he was digging the hole deeper.
“What am I doing?!” he had thought with an opened mouth frozen sigh, “I shouldn‘t keep reminding him!”
Megami was ignorant of a lot of things, including that some NetNavis did not have NetOps. ONB’s New Life had a lot of NetNavis that worked under officials, and a lot of Custom NetNavis that battled had worked along side a NetOp who supplied battlechip data and programs that they slid into them. She learned all this from Xenneth who had made her feel as teamwork between NetOp and NetNavis was an essential thing, a down right demand when it came to being a powerful NetNavi all on your own. After all, her strength had come from young Xenneth.
The NetNavi’s sounded sigh had been low even amongst the whipping winds that built themselves as Megami had stared at his back before he gave her his attention once more.
"The net is a wondrous place. However, we must always be on guard. Especially when the weather can start acting up."
Breathing in, Megami had been blitzed by the wavering cyber winds that had mixed with the snow. The frost and cold air bombarded her face as not even her scarf stood a chance as it flagged in the breeze. She had to nestle her chin and mouth near it as it muffled part of her lower face while she closed her eyes resisting every bit of strength of the bleak cold air. By the time she opened her eyes slightly, Megami can feel the flame from the virus, even thought probably not that strong to cool her chill even with his efforts, but then again, Megami had her own source of strength as she had held her left hand to her mouth and reached out her right hand manipulating the pure clear essence that danced along her fingers until it sparked into a burning red aura that she manipulated with her emotions.
"So, Where are you Headed Megami? I think it would be best to travel as a group for now. What do you guys say?"
“Oh?” she had spoke, “But I surely wish not to burden you. After all, if I am to reach Sharo, I must travel through this cool white weather in order to reach it. Besides…” Megami had said as she lightly lifted her left hand away from her muffled scarf and pointed behind the NetNavi. “Is that not your friend that is also waiting for you?” she had asked.
"Uh...friend?" Xenneth himself added mystified as he followed Megami's pointing gesture.
Megami’s finger gestured towards the distance towards a single form that had stood out from the snow slightly. Where it’s white belly and blubber had ended, there was black coat along its back along with a tuft of blonde hair on its head. It had big eyes and a large orange beak as it stood staring towards the back of Merrill while Megami had pointed to it, which it had totally ignored. Some may with experience notice that this was no ordinary animal, but a Penguin, but NetNavis who were well versed on the directory of the records of the network would know that this was a Penguin…which virus data had taken the form of making it be named “Pengy.”
Smiling, oblivious of the nature of the creature still, Megami had waved towards the animal that had simply blinked as it stared at the two. It seemed non-hostile at the moment, but how long would that last exactly? ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Holoska (Day)“ from Sonic Unleashed: BGM CollectionIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: Next post I’ll start the battle! As Xenneth spoke, Merrill nodded, taking no pain from Xenneth's accidental slip.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"It is all good, My friend. It is quite alright. No offense, nor pain taken from your point."[/glow]
As Megami spoke about not burdening him, Merrill shrugged it off, and replied.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Its no burden at all. I am just wandering around here anyway. Having flashbacks of the past... and in some ways, training..."[/glow]
He Trailed off, thinking momentarily. When Megami spoke again, metioning the "friend behind him, merrill questionably turned.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Friend? What friend are you speaking of?"[/glow] he said as he turned, looking at the panguin-like thing.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"What? What is a penguin doing out here in the middle of near nowhere? Its not my friend Megami.. I didn't even know it was there until just now." [/glow]
As The penguin neared the small group, Merrill pondered what he would make his next move. He too wondered if it was hostile or not..

"What? What is a penguin doing out here in the middle of near nowhere? Its not my friend Megami.. I didn't even know it was there until just now."
The Penguin quacked in a heaping loud cry. It seemed as if its feelings were hurt and suddenly was saddened by the NetNavi who had not even acknowledged it, nor even seemed to want anything to do with it. It’s big large orange beak had lowered as it had became depressed upon it having the feeling that it did not exist. Above it being some sort of virus, it had feelings to, something which Megami had sensed from the purple aura that swirled around it before a glimmer of her eye and she had looked a Merrill with a gentle smile.
“Well, then, we should fix that.” she had said with a hinting positive tone, “I‘m sure making friends will be more enlightening than dwelling in the past. There are a lot of bonds that are capable of being obtained if you look in front of you after all.”
Megami’s wise words freely floating about as Xenneth had blushed behind his P.E.T display as he heard her. It was one of her lessons she imparted on the shy boy whenever she had spoke with her innocent mind and pure thoughts that dug out the most simplest perspective of complications. The insignificant was more than significant when the young woman applied her lessons, and things that were a fog usually broke in mere seconds as if she had carried the sunlight and all of its glories. Lowering his head slightly, even thought the comment was directed towards Merrill, Xenneth had remembered that he should make friends with others such as Merrill. Maybe he could even meet his NetOp?
*BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP!*
Xenneth was alerted by the sudden sound of the alarm upon his P.E.T that stirred him from his morale thoughts. His eyes had been upon the screen as it shown a pop-up, and running his finger along the keypad, he had scrolled until it had shown the data that had come up, and upon Xenenth’s blue eyes scanning the text, he had seen now that this bird was not just some ordinary bird, but a virus which had made the boy cringe seeing that the virus, any virus for that matter, had given him a bad feeling.
“Umm…” Xenneth had piped hesitantly in a low tone, “…M-M-Megami-chan?” he had spoke lowly as the female had seemed to almost be oblivious of the boy’s scary tone of speech as she approached the bird. His voice was so low, it was barely audible as Megami had approached the bird. However, as she kneeled down, she had smiled warmly towards the face of the Pengy virus while replying.
“Yes? What is it Xen-kun?”
The boy had ran his thumb over the keypad once…twice…maybe thrice to see the information? No matter how much he checked over it, he was sure, this was a virus. His eyes had lifted slowly as he had looked towards the display as Megami reached out stroking the bird’s beak and getting its attention as it lifted its head and stared towards Megami with big watery eyes that demanded love as she had giggled happily with glee.
“Well, you see…I-it‘s about that b-bird…” he had said brokenly as Megami’s eyes piped open in surprise.
“A bird?” she had gasped aloud, “You mean like the birds in your world, Xen-kun?” she had asked with excitement as she was so exasperated that the female had turned back to the Pengy with her hands clasped and eyes in a widened stir as she breathed in the cold air as if it was her own little supply of air from her new “heaven.”
“I always wanted to see these ‘birds’ up close!” she had continued, “Little bird! Can you go fly?!”
The Pengy…stared at Megami…and then it’s eyes narrowed.
“No?” she had asked, “But all birds fly! Is there something perhaps wrong with your wings? Maybe you have gained too much weight and unable to fly?”
A fat joke? The Pengy’s forehead bulged with a vein as it had stared at Megami. Its eyes getting an even sharper glare as the female had reached her hand towards its little flat flipper like appendages that were wings.
“No, nothing seems wrong…” Megami had said as she ran her thumb and index against her chin in deep thought, “I know!” she had said, “You have a larger beak than the rest! Maybe you have eaten too much when flying as of late?”
….that…was…it! This woman had to go!
That was the words that ran through the Pengy virus’s mind as it had glared. Its eyes narrowed so sharply that its vision could cut through anything, including through the female before it as if she was wet paper. Its beak opened as it reached its hand that pointed to it and took a nip at delicate fingers leaving it sore and pulsating.
“Ouch!” Megami had cried. Her eyes went to her hand, and by the time lifting again, she had watched as the Penguin had seemed to waddle away quickly up the hill from whence it came in a disgruntle tone. Even the cool air could not hide the steam that was exploding from its head as it had vanished beyond the thick veil of the snowstorm that blew and whipped around herself and Merrill.
“Was it perhaps something…I said?”
Xenneth had sighed, relieved that the virus was gone, but a bit embarrassed that Megami knew nothing about penguins. His eyes had opened as he had gazed to the screen while Megami had rubbed her hand trying to soothe it. Her eyes went to Merrill a bit saddened that she had perhaps done something wrong. Her smile had gone weak as she gazed to him trying to remain spirited for the sake of her guest.
“Oh well, I just hope that eventually we can-…?!”
Megami had stopped in mid voice as she was speaking to Merrill. Suddenly, the ground below her had rumbled and quaked as the female had gazed towards the distant hill from which the Pengy virus vanished behind. She could hear something rumble, quake, and sound off as if there was something slicing the ice and at the same time shaking the foundation. By the time Megami had tried to guess what it was, and think to ask Xenneth, she had seen the Pengy virus from before sliding on its belly. Her expression changed from a saddened one to a joyous one thinking it had returned and they could make amends, but afar, she seen more shadows amongst the veil of the snow storm.
A horde of Pengy viruses emerged. All of the penguins sliding on their belly had made an “arrow formation” with the one angry Pengy leading them. It had let out loud quacks which the horde had responded to as the Penguin had seemed to lead the armada and gestured its wing towards Megami and Merrill, it’s “bullies” that ignored it and insulted its “Penguin Pride” as it had came back wanting to seek revenge.
It was now clear, the two have pissed off and made enemies with the entire Penguin Community of Sharo as the group had closed in on the two making Megami stare a bit frantic at what was happening as she tilted her head curiously.
“Hmm…I wonder what they are doing?” Megami had asked curiously, “If they do not slow themselves, they will surely crash into us…” Megami had said making Xenneth eyes go dull almost forgetting how dense the female NetNavi could be when it came to the nature of the network, or people in general who were angry.
“Megami! That‘s a penguin! They can‘t fly!” Xenneth had cried out urgently, “Not only that, but those are viruses! Angry viruses! Run away!”
[---Battle Start! Post One!---]
Megami had registered what Xenneth said almost immediately, and responded just as quickly as she had whipped around in surprise. “Oh! O-okay!” she had cried as she turned head and started running towards the distance trying to escape the angry Penguin horde as they opened their beaks and shot out a blast of ice in a flaky form that flew only to strike the ground around Megami. They had bad accuracy with their signature “Ice Wave” attack that was not good unless they were stationary and aimed at one target in particular, but they were on a barrage towards the two as they slid advancing quickly.
Megami, running, had turned an about face as she had looked towards Merrill and thought it would be proper to take him with her.
“Hurry, Merrill-san!” Megami had cried, “We must try to evade them!” she had suggested as she gazed towards the horde of viruses a bit unsure if she could fight that many viruses at once, with or without help, seeing she did not often fight unless it was for the right reason. However, she wanted to avoid it altogether if necessary.
Fanning her hand to Merrill, Megmai had gestured towards the NetNavi for a speedy downhill retreat along the ice seeing at the moment, the viruses seemed tenacious, and invincible seeing they were on their icy element that frozen their bodies over. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Cool Edge“ from Sonic Unleashed: BGM CollectionIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: Hee Hee! As Megami asked about the Peguins weight, Merrill started to worry. The peguin seemed very upset, and as it was walking away, Merrill spoke.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Miss Megami.... Peguins can't fly..."[/glow]
Then, after the Peguin bit Megami, Merrill spoke again.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Umm.. Miss Megami.. I think We upset him.."[/glow]
He stepped closer to Megami, when he hurd the rumble of the peguin gorde.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"What on earth? What is going on?"[/glow]
Then the panguins were upon them.
[glow=red,2,300]"Battle Start! Post 1"[/glow]
As soon as Merrill noticed the horde, and right after Megami spoke to him, Merrill turned, and jumpped. He opened his wings, and with two powerful thrusts, took off but stayed within a few feet to the ground. As he Neared Megami, he opened his arms, and "scooped her up, off the ground. His pace slowed, but they were still putting a little distance between them and the penguins. He spoke quickly inbetween flapping bursts.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"This is just a bit faster than running..."[/glow]
THen, He spoke to Healer, who was on his shulder.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Healer, please lay down some ground fire, so we can find a hill or somplace where we have an advantage!"[/glow]
Healer started shooting fireballs at the ground, and towards the peguins, hoping to slow them down.
After flying for several minutes, Merrill noticed a flat looking hill of to his right. He angled that way, and gently released Megami onto the ground, landing several feet past her. Merrill turned, and walked forward. As the Peguins neared, Merrill pulled out his swords, the MZKeyZoths. The radiant blades sparked to life, and Merrill immiditly blasted forward a wave of energy, into the throng of penguins. As the snow dust cleared, he noticed that some of the peguins were not peguins! They were Ice Swordies, and some other viruses! Merrill noticed the difference in size, and how the tummies of the other viruses were not so white... they were tan and blue!
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Megami! we need to be careful! There are real penguins in the flock, but, apparently, there are viruses too! THe panguins weren't mad, but they were fleeing the ones that were not real penguins!"[/glow]
Merrill moved in a defensive manner, prepared for any attack that may come from the viruses, intending on protecting Healer, Megami, himself and his guardians.

{Battle Post - [TWO]}As Megami had looked back to Merrill, she had found her feet swept away from under her as she had felt as if she was soaring. Her eyes opened with disbelief until finally she had turned her head about to see that her waist was in a grasp of a figure, and letting her vision travel more, she had seen Merrill who was holding her as he seemed to be airborne by his own ability of flight. It was unexpected, just as much as the thought of someone touching her. She had stared, still astonished as the wind swept by as slow as the pace at which Merrill flew at.
"This is just a bit faster than running..."
“Oh…right…”
Her reply was a bit broken as she answered. She would not know herself if she was capable of flight, but she rather doubted it. Staring towards the NetNavi, she had wondered a lot about his character seeing he seemed to have some special qualities like others she had met. What were her own “special” qualities? That was something that even she wanted to know seeing that she felt as if she lacked special qualities in her opinion. Her head dropping and eyes drooping, she felt that depressed feeling once more that she felt when seeing others as if she looked at a fractured mirror: indifference.
"Healer, please lay down some ground fire, so we can find a hill or somplace where we have an advantage!"
“Advantage?” Megami had lifted her eyes as she had looked over her shoulder once more towards the NetNavi. The virus on his shoulder had acted as it had sent a flurry of fireballs that went crashing below into the icy terrain. It was a sight that made Megami gasp at that moment as she watched the sudden attack that crashed about the area of Penguin Viruses. She had all the time to ponder, but she did not as she wanted to cry out with her voice, but by the time they landed on the flat hill, she had stared out into the open as she saw the Penguins that slid their direction while she stared on.
“This is…”
Megami had paused in her thoughts as she had saw a glimmer in her eyes. She turned her head slightly to see the drawn blade that Merrill held. She could think of a hundred guesses what he was about to do with it, but it boiled down to one; one which made her gasp once again in that same horrid fashion. She had kicked off with great speed as she had reached to the center of her chest clapping her hands together with a powerful slap of her palms.
“No, wait!” she had cried, however the wave of energy had already been released. As Megami had reached her hands to the center of her chest where she clapped, the energy between her fingers brimmed as if there was a burning essence there. The “burning” had continued to rage until it exploded over her body and within her palms, two large bulbs of energy had formed as she countered the wave with her own energy that came from her hands. She pushed in the direction of the wave until she danced around swinging it as if she was slinging around an actual form. The wave had been misguided, slightly as it had crashed amongst the crowd of Penguins, all while still exposing the other Swordy Viruses.
Staring off to the viruses, she looked on a bit bewildered as she was familiar with the Sword wielding viruses.
"Megami! we need to be careful! There are real penguins in the flock, but, apparently, there are viruses too! THe panguins weren't mad, but they were fleeing the ones that were not real penguins!"
“It doesn‘t matter,” Megami had cried aloud with a voice of resolve. Her face had bore a serious expression, besides the sweet and innocent one was always there. “We‘ll have to just stop them before they do any harm, without deleting them. I wish not to destroy anything in this world.”
Megami was passionate about her goal. She was nothing but a NetNavi of an experimental variation; one with the heart of a child, and the innocence of a saint. Who was she to pass some sort of “judgment” on a virus just because it was along the nature of the NetNavis to just delete them as they came? Not all viruses were bad, and in her opinion, some of them were just misguided. Proof enough was her own vision traveling to the lone virus that kept near Merrill’s shoulder amongst his other allies.
“Xenneth,” Megami had called as she turned her eyes back to the Penguin viruses and then towards the Swordy viruses amongst them, “I‘m prepared to battle, please assist me!”
“R-right!” The shy NetOp had replied as he had slid his fingers into his pocket. His hands ran the virus card sets into his P.E.T that acted as the default choices for Megami’s battle operation. Her stats augmenting themselves and adjusting accordingly to the strength of each card, and upon the completion, Xenneth had nodded his head with a fierce expression as he was determined to help his best friend.
“Alright! Battle Operation, Disable and Disorient! Set…?”
The right hand of Megami lifted as the aura danced along her fingers. She manipulated it once more until it had turned into a blazing red like flame made of the strange essence that she had held within her palm. As she gazed amongst the field of Swordy Viruses and Penguins, she had nodded her head as she replied to her NetOp; her innocent voice strong as she spoke the word…
“Execute!”
Megami had pumped back her arm and thrust her palm outward as the burning aura had burst forth. Her vision watching the flame-like enigma dance in her eyes while before her the heat of the energy had burned away at the terrain before them with a crash. The power of it intensified, but calmed as it cooled and melted away the ice that revealed a blistering boiling pool of water that should have belonged in a sauna. She had closed her right hand until the aura had covered her curled fingers that formed and fist and she looked back swing her chestnut colored ponytail as frantically as she turned her head and looked towards Merrill.
“You can fly, yes?” she had asked even though aware of his abilities prior to the NetNavi sweeping her away, “It would be better if you can route the Sword wielding viruses away from the strange birds you call ‘Penguins.’ It will ensure that they won‘t be hurt, while we force the viruses into retreating, right?”
She had asked as if she needed confirmation on a plan, but her face shown that she wanted that to be possible. She had stood still and stationed prior to her feet being weighed because of one of the selected Virus Cards her NetOp had used. Her strength displayed and also used for a good distraction as she had knew she could do so little from within the fray while grounded. Therefore, she awaited for Merrill to assist her pleads. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Cool Edge“ from Sonic Unleashed: BGM CollectionIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: Hmm…a confusing scenario, but I can deal with it! =3 Topic Quotation: Megami‘s Thoughts[/size]

As Megami spoke, and her attentions and plans became clear, Merrill felt a twinge. She didn't want the viruses to be destroyed. While killing them wasn't exactly what Merrill had in mind, he wasn't sure exactly how they were going to get away completely unscathed. When Megami motioned her plan, Merrill nodded. He would try and comply with it the best he could. He would try and herd the swordies away from the penguins..
[glow=rainbow,2,300]"BATTLE POST 2"[/glow]
Merrill stabbed the swords into the ground. He motioned for Healer to stay, and he jumped, taking flight. Maneuvering his hands, he transferred some of the snow into water, and started a non-lethal downpour among the swordies, prompting them away from the penguins.
Then, he maneuvered the water/rain mix to create a slippery slope, causing the swordies to be washed one way, away from the penguins. Then, he created a slope for the penguins, so they could be sent away unharmed. However, a few swordies escaped, and charged Merrill.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]“Oh, no you don’t!”[/glow]
As a swordy attempted to stab Merrill, he swiped his arm sideways, slapping the sword, and sending the first one back onto the water slide. Another swordy struck, and missed. Merrill picked him up, and gently tossed him on the slope. The third swordy, however, nicked Merrill in the right arm, and Merrill just grabbed him, and flung him on the slope. Merrill jumped back, and started nursing the wound. His left hand started to glow green a bit, and he gently rubbed his hand, healing the wound. Merrill waited to see what Megami would do, before making his next move.

{Battle Post - [THREE]}”We should do what we can to help as well.”
Megami’s voice had sent a chill down the nervous little violet haired boy’s back before he jumped up in surprise. He gestured a finger to himself dumbfounded unsure if the NetNavi was referring to him, but who else would she be talking to? Most likely a more manageable, more suitable, and stronger NetOp. However, if he knew Megami well, she would rather have a friend, but the boy thought so little of himself that he simply applied common sense as he nodded his head passively agreeing with Megami as if being dragged along.
”Oh!” the boy chimed, ”O-of course!”
Megami had nodded her head, taking heed as she dashed forth towards the impending battle. Seeing the body of Merrill, damaged, but still viable, she knew she had to act quickly. A Goddess with no title, she made herself the “Goddess of Fortune” at that moment, for the melee of Swordy Viruses that were on the verge of attacking the single NetNavi, she had digressed their attention to the female just by putting herself between the glowing red eyes beneath the steel teal body armor, and the NetNavi cornered and healing himself. The female’s right hand lifted upright with an open palm lifted center to her chest while the other went behind her back as she took a defensive disciplined fighting form.
”I‘m sorry,” Megami had spoke gently as she stared towards the viruses with a calm and straight face filled with her usual saddened expression, ”I‘m afraid I cannot let you approach with that menacing aura.”
She could see it with her own eyes beyond the raised blades and killer intent of the viruses that formed a triangular formation about them. Why did it have to come to this? Why did most of problems that involved fighting had to have the same solution? No reason seemed to work, not even with an apology as the burning blade wielding viruses had dashed forth in a teleporting-like speed that was almost instant. The moment Megami caught a glimpse of it, her eyes shifted to an incoming blade that had swung towards her direction.
”Megami-chan! Look out!”
It went without saying, as the shrill voice of Xenneth cried out to Megami, the female NetNavi countered by whipping out her right hand in order to deflect the incoming sword attack. The moment it had struck her skin that was coated by a brimming essence of bright aura, Megami had winced as layer of protection retreated from along her arm and started to thus dissipate slowly from around her body. She had not been that surprised that the virus’s attack was so strong, but then again, the look on her face was complete dread knowing that this had happened while she was intending to protect someone dear.
Eyes sliding over her shoulder’s perspective as she gazed to Merrill with worry…
”They use nothing but close-range attacks! They are powerful compared to what you aura can take!”
The young boy was right, and she realized this; usually Megami would use her Aura as a means for almost any and everything within a battle: Defense, Offense, and even shifting between the two as she did absolutely nothing. It was the flaw of her aura that had made her frown every time it was destroyed. Her main characteristic, shaping and manipulating the strange energy until she made it a greater mean had been undermine by nothing more than brute force as she had swept her hands back to her chest and stood eyeing the Swordy virus before her.
”Megami-chan! The other ones!”
Megami had spun her body around as her chestnut colored bundle of hair had swept from her eye sight, unsheathing before her eyes the other pair of viruses that closed in on her. Their relentless offense was nothing short of what the following description had described, and it cost her to be more aggressive. If it meant protecting those that she cared about, and doing just, she had to put her kindness at bay.
With a simple narrow of her eyes, that simple feeling disappeared.
Megami’s right hand that had been swatted away had materialized a ball of the clear essence within her hand. She had clinched her fingers around it, tightened the grasp until the single sphere had stretched and manipulated into the form of a long red cylindrical pole like shape that could have been used by a flashy hermit with how the ends were decorated with shimmering gold décor. Megami intercepted a single blow with the staff, and then tightening her grip, a second as it almost seemed like the pole had changed sizes in an instant prior to an attack.
”I must apologize again,” Megami had said lowly with a weak smile as she stared sadly towards the viruses, ”But it seems that I will have to do you harm…”
The first Swordy viruses made a daring dash even as Megami had spoke with her warning, but by the time it closed in for a strike, the Goddess-like NetNavi made her move: her hands spun the pole in her grasp as it wind milled in a quick spin along her fingers that played the pole until decisively she had grasped the item while crouching her body lowly. At that moment of her finishing, and kneeling form, the two Swordy viruses, the one behind her, and the one before her had been struck in their teal colored face plates with a terribly powerful force that sent them flying in opposite directions. The polished gold ends of steel of the pole had pushed them back while Megami held onto the red cylindrical body. Five feet, Ten feet, twenty feet they grew apart and continued until one could realize what was happening…
The pole grew to astounding distances!
Megami’s staff had knocked one of the viruses over into the heated hot spring that was previously bought to a boil by her aura. The other Swordy virus that had been close had backed away with its right hand wavering its sword. It hesitated for only a moment, but before then, it was dashing towards Megami and lunged forth as she held the extended pole that separated the other Swordy viruses from around her area. The sword had thrust making a slicing slash along Megami’s arm even as she blocked and attempted to push the virus back. Now, she was entangled in one of the most adrenaline rushing dead locks she had ever been put in since she fought in the cyber world.
”Merrill-san!” Megami had called out in worry for the NetNavi more than herself as she tried to fight back, ”Are you…alright?” she asked in a broken speech as she groaned and growled forcing the virus back to the best of her ability. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”A Lone Prayer“ from Shin Megami Tensei: PersonaIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: --- Topic Quotation: Megami‘s Thoughts[/size]

As Merrill finished healing his wounds, he watched, Megami. She was very impressive in battle. He couldn't help but smile. Standing, he watched, and took stock. Healer was fireing at several virueses, Megami was battling with that pole-staff weapon, and Sunruku and Lunaku were off overhead, charing energy, readying for battle.
[glow=red,2,300]"BATTLE POST 3"[/glow]
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"Please, don't worry about me. It was a sratch. Ive had much worse."[/glow] He said, with a grin. She was worried about him? Psh, He was worried about her getting hurt. He wasn't going to go through that ordeal again. Not even for a new friend.
As Megami was struck, Merrill finished preparing. He first drew the swords again. He was going to have to hurt some of them, sadly. They continued to attack, and so they must be put down to protect his friends. He charged forward, and kicked the swordy that Megami was dealing with. with a flick of his wrist, one of his swords materialized in his hands. He swung, slashing the viruses arm, shattering its sword. Then, he turned, and got back next to Megami, and looked at her wound.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"That virus got you pretty good in the arm... Here. Let me fix that.. Sorry that I didn't act sooner. Had I, you might not have been injured."[/glow]
Merrill dematerialized the sword. He then started pouring healing energy into his hand. He put his hand above the wound, and his healing peroperties started closing up the wound, easing any pain it had caused. Within a few moments, the job was done. Merrill stood, and recalled his blades to him.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]"My turn."[/glow]
He darted towards a group of swordies headed for Healer. Using quick reflexes, he cut threw three swordies, and shattered two others blades. He jumped up, and sent a small wave of energy into the ground, truing to herd the swordies away. One swordy jumped on his back, and was about to stab Merrill through, when Merrill flipped in mid air, and as the swordy fell, took a foot in the chest. Merrill anded on the ground, and started charging energy.
[glow=33CC88,2,300]""You swordies better run... I can't promise your safety anymore.."[/glow]
After several seconds, Merrill was surrounded by energy. He slammed his hand into the ground, causing a shockwave of snow to cascade upon the viruses. THen, one was charging towards Megami, and one at Healer. He flung his hands out, and one MZKeyZoth flew,, pircing the two swordies midstrike. He stood, changed some of the snew into water, and flung it at a much harder pace than before.
Merrill retreaed closer to Megami. He wasn't going to give any swordy the change to attack again. He motioned to healer to retreat closer towards them. Easier to keep an eye on the situation.
Merrill started to restore more energy, preparing for his next strike.
If the swordies didn't flee from this round of attacks, they would have to be eliminated, Merrill thought sadly.

{Battle Post - [FOUR]}"Please, don't worry about me. It was a sratch. I’ve had much worse."
“All the more reason for me to worry.” replied Megami as she stepped forth, taking point right before Merrill as she spoke.
Why did people have to push themselves to suffer? Why did they think their pain was something they had to adapt to for the sake of looking forth towards more with no end? Torment did not last forever, and pain was not something for someone to keep to themselves. Megami knew this, and she wanted to share it. The moment she had gestured to the wound and let her eyes go from it, she did not forget it, fore she burned it into her memory and imagined his torment just from the rip of the flesh. She compared it nothing to her own, nor did she let it go unjust. She added that pain in her mind to that she felt now, and she truly could think they were suffering in this unnecessary battle.
"That virus got you pretty good in the arm... Here. Let me fix that.. Sorry that I didn't act sooner. Had I, you might not have been injured."
Megami had been a bit perplexed as Merrill had healed her, but only slightly before she pulled her arm back and gazed to him with a mixture of confusion. “My carelessness is no fault of yours,” she had insisted, “Please, carry on as you do. I can survive this.”
Had her words reach his ears, she was unsure. Just as much as she insisted on her pain being minor, and having it healed regardless of her qualms, she had watched as Merrill had once again begun to hop right back into the fray. She herself at that moment had turned her attention to the upset herd of penguins. Part of the group in confusion and chaos because of the virus attack the Swordies had launched, and then afterwards was the other part of the group that was still upset that she insulted their pride. She had a mixture of a feeling as she had gazed to them.
It was like saving a world that did not want her!
“Hate me or not…I must do right!” she had thought. Taking up arms as she turned and lifted her staff, Megami had defensively gestured her weapon to the Swordies that were still waging battle upon Merrill. Herself stepping amongst the fight as she had defensively pushed to his blind spot and looked to her surroundings expecting the viruses to face their indomitable strength. Certainly, these viruses had outnumbered them, but Megami would bet she was not outmatched, and even the shy bright haired NetOp would agree behind her as she made a tenacious gaze towards the monitor display of the battle.
"You swordies better run... I can't promise your safety anymore.."
“Please retreat now,” Megami added, “We will not delete you, but there is no reason for you to continue to suffer from this meaningless fight.”
Megami had gazed towards the red eyes of the viruses. Their teal armor had shone and shimmered in the still light as their swords burned with a brimming aquatic energy. Finally, the viruses had made a small shine come from their eye as a echoing sound of a a dragging metal similar to pitch sounded off. The viruses around Merrill and Megami at that moment had…disappeared!
“W-w-what is this?!”
Megami had gazed towards their surroundings, clear of any of the trio of viruses. Her head lifted as her legs came together slightly more than they were spread apart in a defensive manner. Her eyes that were filled with sadness and tenacity were left in a bewildered whirl as she saw that the clearing that was their battlefield had averted to its original role, being nothing but a glacier wonderland around them as the Pengy viruses had been outside the circle watching with glaring eyes.
“They…gave up?” Megami had thought.
However, even Xenneth knew this was strange. His eyes had gazed long and hard at the screen seeing nothing in sight, but his information displayed for the viruses had been scrolling still. They were proud, brave, full of their “Knight” like ideas as they charged into battle lacking any cowardice. Their attacks were basic, but swift and strong. If anything, the small bit of text about their special properties had caught his eyes as he processed it and gasped as he checked a spike in the network’s data at the next moment knowing his worst fears possibly could be true.
“Megam-chan! Get away!”
Xenneth had cried out altering Megami, but by the time her eyes opened to a full burst and she drew breath, she had moved with a quick kick barely avoiding the gash that appeared in her ripped brown winter outfit, and then right before her, a Swordy viruses appeared as if from thin air as it swiped with a Widesword slash that sent her flying aback. The third virus never came, but most likely attacking the other NetNavi with the surprise attack. Staring at the text as Megami recovered, Xenneth swallowed with a serious expression as he realized what had happened.
“Battlechip data, AreaSteal!” he had acknowledged seeing that the viruses had used their held chip data in order to surprise Megami and catch her off guard. The female NetNavi had recovered, slowly lifting her arms as she had let out a veil of aura around her that had intensified and pushed out with two powerful waves of aura that burst from her palms and pushed the viruses back, if only for a few inches.
…and afterwards, she kneeled weakly.
Breath heavy, eyes shut as she continued her heaves of air, and her thoughts racing. The NetNavi knew she was in a bind because of her carelessness.
“I was so naïve!” she had thought admitting to her fault of thinking of a peaceful resolution, “I must get up! I can not let my promise fall because of my own weakness!”
Megami had thought as she used all her strength to pick her body up. She clearly had been weakened from that last surprise attack. ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”A Lone Prayer“ from Shin Megami Tensei: PersonaIC Attire: Cold and LovelyChatty Ditz: --- Topic Quotation: Megami‘s Thoughts[/size]
