Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard stepped free from the vortex first, the Net returning around him in the same flash that he exited from it. Having Var's response in hand, Vanguard turned back to glance at the vortex, awaiting what would come next.
In that strange place, disconnected from this world, a being existed that was an alternate version of an individual from their own timeline . . . what did this imply about the potential of the rest of their enemies? How could they possibly contend with something if the enemies were capable of displacing enemies within time? He wasn't aware of Juno's reality altering capabilities being able to do that, but, he supposed it wasn't out of the question . . . this just further complicated everything, to say nothing of the fate that the alternate Destroyer prophesied and was trying to prevent.
Just what were they headed towards, now, that they had to contend with something so beyond the scope of reality as to consider an alternate timeline altogether? He felt out of his depth, but, knew that Mistair and the others would be with him. That made it a bit easier to process . . . now, just to make sure everyone made it out safe, and potentially continue with their mission of checking out the moon.

*Looked like things had panned over well enough for them. In that they had managed to come out of things alive after fighting in the unknown. Other than that was much to unpack simply from that battle itself, as the Onyx Overlord was able to step out after finishing the fight. It assured Vanguard that if nothing else, they had managed to succeed in the battle. But the rest of the investigation that he would have preferred to do was something that wasn't accomplished. Vexing, but something that was outside their control.*
"Either Faith is slower than I thought thanks to her disposition, or she got waylaid. Seeing as she had the key for the next mission, we're forced to either track her down or chart a different course. And also unravel what we saw while on the move instead of while stationary."
*While this was Electopia still, it was also the same place where orbital strikes had occurred. It meant that standing around made them no different than New Life. And suffice to say, while he didn't intend to go down like that aerial fortress did, acting as a sitting duck did wonders for the odds of that going exactly the same way. Whether or not Mistair chimed in was probably going to be related to the more hostile purple Navi, but given how winded he was, being hostile was all he would have going for him right now. So seeking her counsel now was fine, just as he offered his. Even after what they endured, he was nothing if not able to maintain the razor-sharp focus toward their goals that had been continuously displayed by him now.*
"Our options are messaging her and heading to her rather than having her come to us, as unless time was on a different axis for us while we were inside as well, she shouldn't even be that far. This way saves time given our movement speed, but I'm under the impression that if she isn't here, she's in the middle of something else. We look for another means to continue toward our skyward objective, or we make for the unexplored yet desolate Creamland."

Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard turned as Genesis emerged, relieved to see him and the Armored Destroyer in one piece. Genesis looked disgruntled, which meant that the destruction of their adversary must have resulted in that space being destroyed. Nothing left to venture further into and find the answers they needed, then. Unfortunate, but, at least it gave them time to consider what they had encountered together.
"Faith doesn't just wander off," Vanguard observed, glancing around Element City's remains. New power spikes had entered into the city since they had left it, and residual signs of powerful entities still hung in the air. Off closer to where New Life once floated, he detected another power that felt familiar, but he decided to write it off for the time being and turned back to Genesis. "If she's not here, something must have come up. There's a chance that something in the physical world has called her attention, too, so, while we can at least reach out to her, we should keep pushing while we wait for a response."
He turned, casting his vision across the horizon, narrowing his eyes as he pushed his vision forward, glancing beyond the cityscape and around them in all directions to see if he could locate any more of those strange vortexes. "We haven't given Creamland much attention, save for when we followed Var to Eden. It wouldn't be a bad idea, to more thoroughly investigate it. The Reaverkings were interested in Creamland for whatever reason quite some time ago, back when Juno was first around," he remembered, blinking to refocus his vision on his surroundings. He turned back to Genesis, considering the options. "There's a chance they just wanted to keep others out of Eden, but the device may be able to get us farther than just Eden if we needed it to. Do you think there's anything else in Creamland worth searching for? I'm only familiar with the castle, personally."

*It was reasonable to say that was the case on all fronts with regard to Faith. Even when they had separated, he called, and she answered. That was why he would give her benefit of the doubt and conclude that she had other business to take care of. As for what was in Creamland, as far as he knew there should be nothing there. There was never anything in Creamland minus its destruction, quite frankly.*
"As far as I'm concerned at least, each of the places we can access likely have something hidden in them. If this portal appeared in Electopia, it stands to reason that they've opened in other places as well. One source says Netopia had one already. The goal in Creamland is to catch the next one and enter it. If all goes well, we get answers before destroying everything. Otherwise, we can try to utilize the device to get to the Moon. We'll probably try that one way or another before we leave Creamland again so long as things go according to plan."
*It did still mean that undoubtedly one would be in Sharo as well. There wasn't even a rule that there was only one in each location. He was just simply doing what he thought was best at the time. With how desolate Creamland was at least there wouldn't be a problem finding anything there. And if they didn't find anything on that front, they could aim to do as Vanguard suggested and see if that location could take them further than Eden itself. It was a likely estimate all things said, as Eden was quite far from Earth as it stood. Asking for a bit more of a push didn't seem that unreasonable a jump in logic. And even if it were, then all they would need to do then is improvise and adjust what was already there.*

Looked like they had finished everything after all. Well, it wasn't as though she wasn't observing it, simply that getting involved was complicated. Why had already been addressed given who was there and the disposition of them all, but she could chime in for why they were missing their ever-reliable Faith at the moment.
"Faith doesn't wander off, but she does occasionally get pulled away by other matters. Individuals interested in her or other obligations."
Essentially, Vanguard was in the right direction for why she was MIA right now. Like the Zealot she also made no mention of the other power that could be felt at the time, seeing as they had already done their due diligence in that regard. To that end, Genesis moved on to the next objective. He left out one of them, but he probably reasoned that the viper that was left to roost would turn up one way or another or that he would simply perform that undertaking at a different time. The rest of the plan, that was seeing to the device related to Eden, would probably be her job from then on. If it didn't meet the standards asked of it, then they could adjust from there. And with how few knew of it, they could use it personally. There was the risk of the more obvious ones who did know of it, but she imagined by this point that the cloak and dagger was being applied for a different purpose entirely.
"If you want to take the time, we can explore the rest of Creamland as well. It was in bad shape before we went to Eden, so the attack has likely left it in even worse condition. Be mindful of that and your eyes shouldn't betray you as easily."

Listening to Genesis' and Mistair's take on the situation provided some much-needed insight. His experience with Creamland felt like a lifetime ago, when less-than-ideal circumstances had coerced him to fight alongside the likes of Juno. What that led to was ultimately what he had become, however, so he wasn't sure if it were at all unfortunately, or even less than ideal, at this point in his life. Strange, how things could turn so easily when perspective was applied.
The reasoning to check on Creamland to find more of those portals was a sound one, one that he hadn't even considered, given the wild nature of their appearances. If they were appearing throughout the Net, then they needed to continue to explore in order to find more of them and get answers before it was too late. He noticed that Genesis left out Sharo in his list of answers, but figured that, given their latest trip to Sharo, there were few reasons left to visit there without all of their force available to them.
Each of the locations having something hidden was something he had thought of, however, as it was the only logical explanation of why they were looking to explore these locations unhindered by the efforts of the outside world. To remember that Creamland was already devastated before the fall, however, was something he hadn't considered - he personally hadn't been to Creamland, and while he knew it had been attacked, he hadn't known to what degree its devastation was. Given the last time he was there, though, Creamland, as Genesis put it, was a key target for destruction.
Vanguard noticed her comment about Faith, but didn't comment on it as he turned forward, his eyes already focusing through the Net to glance across Networks at Creamland. "I hadn't really considered that they were using the perceptual elements to make Creamland appear more hospitable than it was," he admitted, preparing his systems to travel in that direction. "I suppose we should be careful, of course. What our eyes find may unsettle us more than the image they're using to hide from us."

*Individuals that had their attention on Faith? ...It wasn't impossible. She was low profile enough given her status, so drawing attention wasn't exactly her most well-known feature. But it was something that came with the territory somewhat when one was involved with him or when a dynamic shift occurred.*
"If nothing else, I always thought it was more unsettling that everything was still so well-put together."
*Electopia having buildings or lives to save. It was such a stark contrast from everywhere else that no one should view this place as hospitable or normal. Netopia was vacant even before this all escalated, and Sharo was silent save for those who braved its domain. Creamland should be no different. For everyone to want to flock here simply because it appeared to have life showed how simple it was to fool others into a false sense of security just by displaying such a simple display of life. Now it would be time to see if Creamland tried to fool them with the same sort of ridiculous display, aiming to travel along with them. Onward, as they say.*
