Seeing her shots have no effect on him lent her to decide that it was better for her to store her energy for now so that should could strike back more effectively with a later burst rather than unloading everything immediately. It meant that she'd be dealing with his copies for a bit longer than she'd liked, but ultimately that would help her accrue more energy anyway in the long run, she figured.

StrifeMan grinned, from ear to ear, as her comment reached them. Holding out one hand, he allowed his power to flow and crackle into a whip of grasping claws and dripping shadows, cracking the whip once to show his intent. "StrifeMan can always find time to rhyme. It is a way to spread mirth when it is so often his charge to see harm's birth. 'Tis how StrifeMan keeps their smile, after carrying their burden for one more mile . . ." He said this with melancholy as if truly hurt by the idea of his right to rhyme being taken from him.
He smiled, though, cracking his whip as the shattered portions of his psyche began to crowd her on all sides, and he himself joined the fray to crack his treacherous whip against her wherever she may find weakness. "StrifeMan can always find a reason to bind, to take and to rake, to maw and to claw! He does enjoy the breaking, the staking, the claiming of the maiming! While the attacks where handled just the same as before, it was Strifeman's choice of dialogue that was causing Feint to flinch now; her own psyche showing its incapability of holding itself together throughout it. Each rhyme was like an ear-shattering screech from her perspective, and his sudden urge to "spam" them was far beyond what she realized she could even handle -- the copies that surrounded her weren't doing any favors, either.
Another explosive round from her gun would be enough to take care of those, but she still had a long struggle ahead of her if things were going to keep up as they were.
" I'm done with this Dr.Seuss bull**** already! "

When her shell was unleashed, StrifeMan did something different, this time. Dark, ominous power welled up from within him, as a strange, flickering shadow fell upon the field. Her shot seemed to pass into this shadow and have no effect, the round never exploding, and no harm coming to his fragments whatsoever.
He grinned a crooked smile at her, lumbering down like a beast on the hunt. "Well, well, well, StrifeMan sees she does not find his canter swell! If you wish for StrifeMan's voice to be still, you must do what you will and shoot to kill!"
StrifeMan himself charged forward once again, as the fragments continued to harass her from all sides. Crashing through the midst, it was difficult to tell which one was the real StrifeMan, as he would collide with a fragment and trade forms with it, until he was upon Feint with one hand raised, dripping with malignant intent, and the other swinging that dangerous sword at her, once again.

She cursed to herself under her breathe at his new response. She couldn't fire the explosive round frequently enough to circumvent that maneuver; the best she could do for now was force him to keep using it. His continuous taunting was doing its work as well to distract her from thinking more straight, else she'd probably have been able to think of something more effective.

In such close proximity, as she released the explosive round at him, StrifeMan wrapped his tail around her ankle to keep himself steady as she engulfed herself in the fire of her own explosive, this time, and when the dust cleared, StrifeMan was again unharmed.
"Do it twice? Do it thrice! StrifeMan can protect himself, all of himselves, as much as needed to escape your vice! StrifeMan wonders, however, if you, with your blunder, can continue to defy what fate won't deny; that it's past due for you to be through."
He spoke ominously, with a dark intent in his voice, as the calamitous field of energy around him became more powerful. It at last gave away as the last fractured remnant of his soul came crawling out of him, but somehow, while the aura of shrieks and lashing claws was finally gone, the sky didn't seem any brighter. StrifeMan's hold on the space was still treacherous, and the feel in the air was that something far worse was not too far behind.
The avatar of calamity and his fractured selves all came down onto Feint at once, threatening her from all sides, looking to rip her asunder with the last bit of force they had to themselves. StrifeMan simply stayed back, however, and prepared what he had in store, looking to finally bring an end to all of this.

Her flared lips bared her would-be fangs as she softly growled at how he effortlessly handled the explosion again. Her own body being caught in the blast radius was inconsequential, her suit only absorbing back fractions of what it spent to make it, but the battlefield was getting pretty crowded now.
Strifeman's aura seemed to dissipate, but he clearly wasn't bluffing about being able to negate her only attack several times over. Still, she had little else to work with now, so it's what she'd keep doing until he eventually slipped up.
Letting the bodies come, she'd stomp on his tail to free her ankle and handle their strikes the same as she had been, then would let loose her explosion shot just the same as well. She was nothing if not stubborn, it was plain as day to see.

The sinister veil of energy was yet to falter, as Feint's shot once again just fizzled into nothingness as it approached the avatar of calamity and its fractures.
Grinning from ear to ear, StrifeMan cackled madly, and approached her carefully from one side, each of his fractures coming from a separate angle. "You? Cause StrifeMan to blunder? To wonder if its possible, you must do the improbable - cause he who controls fate to not just lack but for his prophecy to be late! Do you dare with your chances, upset the one who writes the dances?" he leered at her, knowing that his choice of cadence annoyed her to no end, but still having more than enough to end it all.
StrifeMan once again unleashed his force onto her, a bright light exuding from within, which would prompt her devastation if allowed.

The energy in her suit would flare up again, absorbing incoming attacks and then siphoning everything into her gun as she'd haphazardly pepper everything inside until it was fully spent.

Frustrated as she was, her confidence hadn't waned in the slightest. Or perhaps it just was misplaced arrogance, to stand amidst over a dozen copies of a foe that even individually was proving too much for her to put down. She wouldn't be Cherish Pele if she didn't fire back regardless, though.

A terrible omen was coming - if the two needed only to stare at one another for their ruinous fight to come to an end, it would have come to an end a long time ago, and Feint would have definitely won that staring contest, but StrifeMan was determined. The darkness that coiled from him would warn anyone of the terror that awaited her, and, yet, there she was, staring him down, begging for his worst.
StrifeMan enjoyed the anticipation, the moment that led up to the final reveal, the show of strength that would break her spirit at long last! If this was not enough, he knew not what would be, for this was all he had left, at least until he gave himself more to work with . . . hehehe!

Frustrated that she had just dusted her only consistent source of energy production, Feint was forced to just stand there and wait for Strifeman to finish taunting now that she had discharged everything she'd stored up to that point. She hated how she always found herself in this particular predicament.

She'd been quite fed up with the foreplay some time ago, but at least back then she was able to shoot back. Now, due to her last outburst, she really was at his mercy (or lack thereof) to continue the fight.

A dark cloud emerged from StrifeMan, the smoke emitted from his chest intensifying until it was as a smog that hung over the field of battle. Shifting visions of opportunity and calamity alike waded through the smoke, and within the shadows, it seemed as if StrifeMan's alters had once again been unleashed onto the Net.
Something was different, this time, though. The Net felt different, more volatile, like that sensation that fell when you knew you were in a space filled with enemies; that daunting anticipation accompanied by a chill down one's spine that reminded you that you were no longer safe, and in an unfamiliar space no less.
A cacophonous laugh sounded from one side of Feint, and yet the devastation came from a different angle entirely. The earth tore itself asunder in front of her as StrifeMan suddenly appeared, one hand warped into a massive, monstrous claw, and just as quickly as he had swiped at her, he was gone, slipped into a shadow. He appeared from another angle an instant later, that same strength crashing down on her.
Dark tendrils reached up from the shadows and tried to wrap around her, dragging her into a murky darkness as if to leave her there forever. Despair filled the air as StrifeMan appeared once more, from above, horrific wings sprouted from his back. He reached out a hand, which multiplied into three, his arm shattering and expanding as he simply tried to reach for her, his touch bearing down on her the weight of suffering that he carried; a burden that dark whispers tried to convince her would be too much for her to carry.

The first swipe of his claw would seem to catch her off guard, causing her to stumble away from the blow, but she'd gather her composure quickly for the successive strikes and conjure what seemed to be an electrically charged layer of skin over her body to endure them.
That protective layer would cackle and spark violently as it indicated its subsiding durability, but it'd surge one regardless as the assault continued. And when the tendrils came and wrapped around her wrists and ankles before they pulled her slowly down into the depths, the electrical aura would finally burst -- not due to the strain of being forcibly broken, but rather like an explosive pulse to break the binds and reinvigorate Feint's ferocity. The noise would blot out the dark whispers, which Cherish could only surmise were the reasoning behind Strifeman's sudden, almost eerie silence.
And as he reached his hand down to touch her, he'd be met with her own hand raised up to meet his in return. Hers just happened to also have a gun in it, unsurprisingly.

She didn't bother aiming for the dopplegangers this time and focused on the main body instead. Her weapon was more than empowered enough to fight at her own pace now, but it was quite a taxing endeavor to endure that entire ordeal, so now it was a matter of whether it'd be enough to close things out before he'd been given enough time to repeat that.
