It was a good thing Steve had brought sunglasses- something he thought to put on when there was more light than when Big Boss literally made all of Steveland shine like an infinite number of christmas lights decorating the even more infinite vastness of infinite- Steif falls from the sky with a toy squeak sound, stars circling his head as he got hit with the full blinding effect.
Steve went over to poke Steif to see if he was alright- and also put alittle more distance from the less pleasant to be around flasher of flashiness.

Sirius sighs, having expected an answer of this kind, and shakes his head. This one was definitely amusing, if not annoying. He did hope he was more entertaining as a combatant.
"No, I do not understand; but I do agree to being benevolent.
"Sometimes, however, children need to be punished to learn their lesson. At least try to be still while I unmake you."
An incredible pressure is unleashed, the void that Sirius makes his residence within seeming to have gifted him with some of its properties. The very earth crumbled, the sky darkened, clouds were pulled from their seats, and the navis surrounding him felt their own data being pulled from their bodies as though Sirius' presence was enough to accomplish his threat. From Sunstar, this absolute gravitational void was even stronger, the very light being pulled from his prominence and towards Sirius, as a radiant photosphere began to form around the true master of the cosmos.
The four wings shimmered as his power overflowed, the incredible prominence drawn from their own life force adding to his own, giving Sirius a shine that outmatched all others. Holding up his hand, Sirius waves the hand in front of him, as if swiping away a fly. Instantly, a pressure even more intense than the one he unleashed radiated outward, and then was followed by another. The earth quaked and gave way, rubble was annihilated before his presence, the surroundings pixelated, atomized, and reduced even further as the gravitational singularity was unleashed, Sirius being the epicenter of a cosmic cataclysm.
The more powerful the being, the more harshly they were laid low, their very life being dragged from them in one terrible display of strength; there was no escaping it, all the lesser Navis forced to a knee as he threatened to grind their bodies into atoms. Just as one wave was unleashed, two more followed, these two markedly weaker than the first, but threatening in all the same way: Their very life was used as a means to destroy them, no defense enough to stand against his might.
As each wave was unleashed, their power was leeched, and Sirius' prominence grew. Their energy would power his warpath. After the waves of gravitational annihilation, Sirius aimed his satellite wings at Sunstar, and unleashed the energy that they had gathered, empowered by the life force he had absorbed. The satellite wings maneuvered around the battlefield at blinding speeds, firing lasers in wild arrays from one another. As the lasers flew, they separated and criss-crossed over one another, bent at impossible angles, and, even while they were in flight, more lasers were fired and added to the chaos. With perfect control they created a lattice-network of danger that surrounded and quickly closed in on Sunstar, and threatened even the navis that surrounded him with annihilation.
For Sunstar, these lasers would have a far more dangerous effect - even a touch would render him lifeless, his will leeched and removed, with no strength left to stand before the true greatness of all reality.
For Nightshade and the Steves, the lasers would almost be insult to injury - Sirius had already unleashed enough gravitational pressure to almost wipe out any baser navi without much else, and there was no way to avoid those. These lasers, however, were at least avoidable, if not incredibly difficult.

Well, looked like nothing really changed on the world outside. From the sparkliness coming from the statue guy the cat navi deduced that it must have been a Tuesday.
The pressure of the spooky guy that suddenly popped up was impressive, but far from the limits he had experienced. At least until Forte himself was still around. That said, it was rather pesky in nature, mostly because it made it harder to move. Other than that, it didn't look all too different from the powers he was familiar with. Perhaps a special kind of advanced Spatial manipulation, most likely. Not something you'd see every day but he could think a place or two where people could definitely develop something like that.
Shame one of those places blew up a good while ago.
Outside of the usual comment on how insignificant he was, story of his life, the cat navi really was interested in the conversation the spoopy one was entertaining with the statue one. He could appreciate a good dick measuring contest. Yup. Definitely a Tuesday.
So... the yellow man standing there was called Sunstar and was a special snowflake like all the others, that was why the spooky guy who also did special snowflake things wanted to capture him. Nightshade really wondered when his turn to be a special snowflake would come. At this point he met enough special people to dwarf a phonebook.
Now the two slapping eachother was all well and good, but if there was one thing that pissed him off was when people took his crap. He had no clue how this new power from "would be big bad guy" worked, but it was unlikely it was GetAbility. Considering he met the owner of that program twice, it had to be more of that Spatial flipery.
"Jackass." The bug navi spatted when the spoopy guy started doing a very nice looking lasershow that pretty much amounted to just destroing all of the things already destroyed. Like, for real, the world exploded or something can't these people give the net a break FOR FIVE MINUTES?
Taking note of the two idiots that much like him wandered into the wrong place at the wrong time, the cat decided to do a good deed to repay being broke out of prison by grabbing the Steve and McSteve over there and at the very least drag them those couple of meters away from the center of the madness, before dropping the two off in a relatively safe place and working on keeping his own skin alive.
Dodging the beams proved no more difficult than avoiding any other attack thrown at him in the last year or so of his life, by now he had done alot of practice. To add to that, Nightshade's peculiar adaptation powers made it much easier to deal with the rest of the attacks once he shirked past the first one.
At least the bugged code he had been left with post Gregar-Infection was useful for something. Outside of being so unstable it was basically poison to any normal navi that is. The moment he was exposed to any kind of zeroes and ones that were not constantly rewriting themselves his unstable code would resonate and synchronize with it just like tuning forks begin vibrating when exposed to sound waves. Granted the effects wouldn't last long before his entire firmware rewrote itself but it at least made it easier to ignore the spatial gravity field thing the winged guy was pulling off by mimicking the same properties the lasers had as they travelled through the gravitational anomaly without being affected by it.
After some sick flips and moves, Nightshade ended up on a piece of rubble with his usual feline grace. It wasn't too too far from the two big boys in dire need of marriage counceling, but it was at least far enough out of the way that it would need either of those two to actively turn towards him if they wished to throw their magical crap his way.
Squatting down on the piece of ruined data, the bug-type cat navi contemplated the scene. So the two were going to fight now yes? Cool. Usually he would take that moment to bounce outta there, but after all that happened he really was tired of running. Besides...he was feeling rather Nightshade today, meaning that he really didn't mind observing what his latest stroke of bad luck was going to bring.
And hey if they did end up smacking eachother he could see if they left some breadcrumbs along the way.

#s://i~ibb~co/9T6wqhQ/Sunstar~png Sunstar, in all of his glory, remains calm in the face of Sirius' rising power. He looks on through burning red eyes to the titanic force before him, but does not flinch. Sirius' power fails to budge the Solar Pharaoh, and even as he takes a degree of power from Sunstar, it turns out to be not even the smallest fraction of what he's capable of.
...and then comes the laser.
Light and power meet in a beam of pure power, and Sunstar at last reacts. The buster at his side, now releasing a passive stream of plasma into the air as if it was smoke, rises to meet Sirius' laser before at last unleashing the might of this powerful being.
Unstained and lacking the fanfare of Sirius' attack, the golden white beam fires for less than a second, but in that time, its omni-present trajectory instantly engulfs and mutes Sirius' own laser, and engulfs the shadow in the power needed to cut to the core of the planet. In the wake of the blast, the shadowed avatar of Sirius would be all but obliterated, and his lower-left wing would have its tip shattered and blown to pieces, razing the edge from the satalite weapon. It would be in this moment that the truth would be obvious;
Sirius could not hope to stand against Sunstar, much less defeat him... at least not by sending his vastly weaker visage to do the job.
By the time it's over, Sunstar has already returned his buster, now glowing nearly solid white from the power unleashed, to his side. His defiance against Sirius complete, his voice rises, daring the cosmos themselves to intervene.
Sunstar: Please do not attack me, those on this network may be harmed in the process. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
So speaks Sunstar; the Doomsday Weapon.

Sirius, from his place within the black hole, saw the power rise and saw what would become of it. Reaching out, he exerted more of his will than before.
The blast of plasma vaporized the prominence that Sirius' shadow had acquired. The shadow held up his hand and a compression of space consumed what remained of the plasma, but that compression of space could only protect him - his wing was not just chip, two of them were outright obliterated. It wasn't unheard of; they were surprisingly easy to break. He had done so himself by mistake at least three times a century . . .
Sirius' shadow floated away from Sunstar, nonplussed. He couldn't be too unpleased with the results in all seriousness, one couldn't expect to have such a pleasant prize without much work, but encouraging this one to come to him would be more difficult.
". . . intriguing, then. I had not considered such retaliation . . . my shadow form is vastly inferior, I suppose. That does make this more fun, if only you would come play with me directly."
The remaining wings angle themselves downward, firing another laser onto the ground, this time into the shape of a strange hole. As they finish, the hole fills in with energy and begins pulsing wildly, as Sirius used his collection of waves to generate a Wave Hole that anyone could use to enter the Wave World and ride the waves directly to his Black Hole - an access point.
"If you do change your mind, please, come to visit me. For now, I must retreat, and prepare for my other guests . . ."
Simply fading from existence, the shadow of Sirius melts away, while the two remaining wings fly off, seemingly unbothered by the loss of their brethren.
[Navis may now access the Black Hole Server from this location]

Ack! Extreme Exposized Extermination! Steve gravely miscalculated how far he needed to go to avoid the titanic throwing of hands, magic and other michael bay special effects! Fortunately, he was saved by Catman- and Steif too who both turned out to be lighter than air in spite of Steif's sack which remained glued to his nub. This made the act of avoiding lazers much more easier to manage, even Steif who managed to come back to was able to move out of the way while Steve just slipped around and in his mind did really cool evasive manuevers when it looked more like he was flailing about trying to avoid being lazored into confetti.
Then it was all over, it seemed like there was alittle more exposition but neither Steve or Steif were close enough to really get the general gist of it as they both emerged from hiding and saw the... was that another hole? Steve was tired of this hole business already.
Steif: -Steif Sounds-
Steve: -Steve Sounds-
That could've been any number of things, as neither Steves knew how this "internet" business worked and just bumbled around. So neither one thought to dive into the hole- OH! Steve wanted to thank Catman- as soon as he found him again.
Steve: -Steve Sounds-
Steif: -Selfish Steif Sounds-
Steve thwacked Steif on the head for not wanting to share any jelly beans with Catman!

The blue space had opened up not that far from the Solar Pharoah, where he had taken off in the first place as they arrived at the Sol's Cradle. As he expected, there had been several visitors in just the time he had left. Though not the one he would have been expecting to be here, so that one must have been otherwise preoccupied for the time being. That was fine, as Zane looked from the Armored Destroyer and then to Sunstar. He paid no heed to the access point, but if he had to address it then he could still do so as needed of him.
"This is the one Uranus entrusted with Stardroid Command, correct?"

The destroyer stayed on-guard as Zane delivers him to the cradle. He had no reason to trust his guide or the destination, but he had little choice in the matter. As he steps out of the portal, he immediately takes an on-guard stance as he sees Sunstar and recognizes the doomsday weapon's power, but he makes no attempt to attack as he shoots an untrusting gaze to Zane.
Sunstar, still difficult to look at directly due to his burning glory, turns to Zane and to the nameless Navi. He looks the purple-clad Navi over, then turns his eyes back to the assassin with a nod.
Sunstar: Correct. This is the adjunct commander of the Stardroid Command.
...a day full of surprises.
It would be obvious to Zane that the Destroyer didn't know of Sunstar, and didn't know of his own supposed command over the doomsday weapon either. It takes him a moment to regain his composure, but regain it he does as his head turns to Zane.
?: And what's the point of bringing me here? You've already captured things like this without needing anyone's help, so why break that tradition now? Is it just easier to force me to make him do what you want?
The nameless Navi's eyes narrow, his mind racing at this strange turn of events. It didn't make sense, and seemed out of character for this force as a whole to go in this direction. What was the point of it all?

Uranus no doubt didn't have a means to enlighten the Destroyer of his new command on his way out of this world. And it wasn't untrue that so far, they always displayed the force to able to take down things of this magnitude. Sunstar was no doubt included in the list of things that could be done in by the very same approach. But Zane returned the Destroyer's gaze with a neutral one, the words that were to follow no doubt about to catch him as unaware as his new position did.
"No tricks or gimmicks: he's yours. If you misuse him they will simply capture him and use him as they will afterward. And with him you can also use him to keep the others from interfering when your time comes or if they display signs of their misconduct. Genesis will look out for his interests... and Vanguard is no different. Their interests don't align, nor do they align with yours. A common enemy is the only thing holding your team together. With Sunstar, you at least can turn the tides in your favor at least once against almost any opposition unaware of him. Or you can find a way to go beyond even that to catch even them unaware."

....a weapon of mass destruction, living and breathing, now given as a servant to be used at will. This was their chance; a trump card that could stand against their forces and make the way to victory. In this exceedingly improbable turn of events, hinging on a chance meeting with an alien being years ago, so much could change.
But is this really the way.
The desire for power, the need to use others for one very specific purpose and expecting the ideal outcome and nothing more. There stood a living being with no ill will of his own willing to perform atrocities at a word. Based on what Uranus had said on confidence, this had to be their final weapon, but how much carnage was behind him, and how many regrets did he have?
...or what would it take to make him realize these regrets?
The destroyer's brow furls and his face sours at these thoughts, his own anger and conflict rising inside until finally it all snaps. He turns fully to Zane and, with a white flash, begins to unload a salvo of mines from his dual cannons at a low arc. With each impact, they explode into a shining white ball of light and emanate a strong, high pitched sound; flash-bangs. While firing, the nameless Navi reaches his arms to the sides and lays down a massive line of fire that encompasses the immediate area with light and sounds, but amid the chaos not a single mine flies directly at Zane's position. In this one move, the Destroyer created an area where no one aside from he and Zane could see or hear what's happening.
?: I don't know what you're doing or what you're planning, but I have no choice but to trust you on this: I need a place where he can go that no one will be able to reach him until after this all passes, and I know that you have someplace.
This violent Navi, known almost exclusively for his brutal tactics and merciless attacks, now shows conflict in his eyes. Unable to rely on himself for this, he has no choice but to reach out to an adversary for help.

He could think of many who would find out they had a Doomsday Weapon and immediately use it without a second thought. Many would have turned it on him right after they discovered they had command over it no less. But for this one who was seen as little more than a violent ruffian, he held more discretion in him than many due to his different values. This was someone Zane had clashed with before and someone Genesis viewed as his greatest enemy despite every other larger problem in the world, and yet the two contrasted so heavily. He wouldn't go so far as to say Genesis would lack discretion here as well, but the values behind it were starkly different.
As he blotted out the area, Zane stayed his hand and waited until he was done the moment the first mine had never been aimed at him. And at his inquiry, Zane would provide as his hand opened again, this time what the Armored Destroyer could see within being something very unfamiliar indeed. Something that he truly was one of the only ones privy to now. The two adversaries had before spoken on matters, and in fact the whole journey to gather all of the very keys for Sunstar came from these two adversaries speaking to one another. And now, it had come full circle.
"The only one aware of this place is myself and now you. You will be able to access it as you see fit, but only you and I can. If you want to take the time to get to know Sunstar more, you are afforded it there as well. Time is of no consequence there, and you will return here without missing anything as well. It could also serve to help you get that arm and leg back in shape."

The destroyer rushes forward and snatches the device from Zane without a thought. The motion is gruff and rude, but being a Navi to never care much for being "kind" and having such a burden suddenly heaped on his shoulders made the entire scenario too vexing to care. On top of that, his flash-bangs would only shield his actions from the outside world for so long. He takes the object and makes his way to Sunstar, literally handing it to the doomsday weapon as he speaks his orders.
?: Take this and hide yourself. Defend yourself if you have to, but do not return until this world is at peace. That's my order.
Sunstar takes the object in his hand, looks at it for a moment, and then returns his gaze to the nameless Navi. He responds just as a broken and well trained soldier; with no emotion to speak of and absolute obedience.
Sunstar: At your command.
Sunstar accesses the object and opens up a hole beneath him, allowing himself to fall into it before it swallows him whole and closes. With this move, he is safely spirited away and not even the destroyer can make any access. For however long it takes, the great Pharaoh and Dooomsday Weapon is gone from the table.
...and yet, the nameless Navi seems all the more angry. His body tense and his rage nearly boiling, all that he can do is stand looking on. This was such a huge chance, and yet he couldn't take it.
?: ...I don't know how much you know about them, but Uranus told me that Duo destroyed their planet. I couldn't even tell him to go home
And now, as the final retorts of the line of fire die down, all that the world can see is the nameless Navi and Zane amid a battle-scarred field.

Post by Zane on Sept 6, 2021 13:41:59 GMT -8
He nodded at the decision made. Ultimately, this was the decision that was most difficult to make... but was the most correct choice. For someone with no ill intentions and no will of their own, forcing them into your battle just to try and level the field would otherwise be folly. And in this case, he made certain that he wouldn't go back on the decision he made. When the dust settled, one way or another, the weapon would not have to serve its purpose if all went well. And the nameless Navi could see his fist clench at what he was told next.
"Terra said the same. I imagine they would have wanted nothing more than to repay Duo the favor so that he could never do it to another world. And Sunstar had that very potential. They no longer had a home, but at least wanted to ensure that this new world could at least be safe. That's what I think at least."
And yet those in the world scorned them and sought their downfall. They relished in it, hunted them down, and the first of them to fall was the one that was most gentle among them. And sure enough, this world's desire for wanton destruction finally won over them. And now, their group was gone and the Earth rejoiced. Now they found themselves in a situation wrought about by their own continued designs. They weren't all to blame, no. But the only ones who ever did anything were the ones perpetuating the cycle to begin with.
"A shame this world hardly shares in their intention, nor do those from outside of it. And now, one way or another, this conclusion can only be destructive for something so ridiculous."

The destroyer's fist clenches in a manner similar to Zane's own, showing a kindred spirit in this lone moment. Yet this anger wouldn't be for the same reason, not this time. Despite all that is at risk, despite his own better judgement, he couldn't think of anything else... it's what he would do in this situation.
?: "Even if I can't win... I won't lose."
The destroyer's eyes shut as he mutters to himself, seeming almost angry at the words that he speaks. But, in the end, he has to accept them. If he doesn't, then what else is there?
?: You've been told that you're wrong, you've been told that there's another way. I won't bore you with blunt and stupid things like that, because I of all people know that it's all trash to us.
You know that I had a good reason to not work with you when you repaired me. And I know that you have a good reason to do what you're doing. But, despite our differences, we both know that it can take just one soul to stop that hammer from crushing us, and just one hub to bring together everyone else what was going to be crushed too. "The world" can do what it wants, but when it comes right down to it...
The destroyer raises his hands and clenches his fists, obviously bracing himself and straining to raise his broken arm. His cannons hum to life and the barrels extend, punctuating his statement with a declaration of action.
?: ....some day, we're going to find.... our everlasting peace.

Those words held quite the meaning to them. Important meaning at that. It was true that several times now he was told that he was wrong or that there was another way. Some would even know that this wasn't his first course of action either. It was because of all the trash they had seen and been through that they understood exactly why they stood where they now did. They turned away with good reason the times they had. When the Destroyer was repaired, he fought back and left their side. And now he too knew that all of their differences led to the same thing. That they understood that ultimately, no matter how the world turned, or how much others fell into despair for what they thought could not be changed... that was because they failed to continue. That they hadn't reached what was declared right here and now. This time, for sure. This time, without fail. This time, once and for all. The chill that surrounded him gave way to the warmth that was deep within, the embers that others could no longer see. The flame that burned louder, brighter, and stronger than any other.
"That's right. Though the paths we walk differ, the destination at the end is the same. The everlasting peace at the end of all of this. The soul able to do it, the hub to bring everyone together... this time, for certain... it will find it. When the Trigger is pulled, once and for all that answer will be obtained. And you will see that your efforts weren't for nothing. That it wasn't too late. That at last, we prevailed. My sincerest hope for it all..."
The destroyer would be able to glimpse it then. Something that no one else could perceive. It was as if something had changed about him, but what exactly? What he could see was something words failed to describe as he looked upon Zane. Uniformity, yet nothing. Eternity, yet the end. Something outlandish that was never even a concept to be entertained before. And yet, something was beyond it. Something new... something... but what?
"Is that you all are the hub and soul instead."
