Vanguard.EXE His cannon definitely had more of an initial impact than just the shots of his Dark Circle, but his assault still permitted insight into his defensive array. It wasn't an issue of hard plating preventing damage, but a buffer that reduced harm by the same percentage.
Vanguard couldn't defend against the two hands as they came crashing down upon him, his defensive array not as strong due to his energy's immaturity, but felt the familiar fires from within spark up as his Darksoul was triggered. Pushing up with his might, he threw Vamin off of him, and decided he would push a little farther to see what he could accomplish with what time he had left.
Raising his hand, he unleashed the storm from on high, meteors falling from the sky and through reticles he placed in the air to strike at Vamin from all sides. As the meteors fell, so too did the force of his flames, as the dark fires erupted all around to unleash his stored strength.

Vamin lifted his arm for his hand to meet the oncoming meteors, blotting them out as they crashed into it effortlessly as the remaining flames found their mark. And for the fires used against him he would meet them in kind, opening his maw as the flames were unleashed alongside several electric rings to follow along with it.

Vanguard.EXE He grimaced as his attempted offensive only barely seemed to harm Vamin, but did his best to maneuver out of the way of the flames only to get beat down by the rings of electricity. The flames were dangerous - he could sense that they would snuff out his life, even through his Darksoul, by denying him the very essence of it.
Still, Vamin was a formidable threat. This was his last effort, as there was no way he could maintain this effort for much longer. His Darksoul was already petering out as he loaded up his trusty cannon again, using the additional power afforded to him by his darksoul to unleash a blast stronger than the first one he unleashed, all the while the meteors rained down to see what little more he could inflict upon Vamin.

It was a fair bit more lasting than before, causing Vamin's mouth to move in something akin to a grin. But before they could continue Var had raised his humanoid hand, the signal that the fight was done with for the time being.
"That's enough."
Vamin would heed without much of a fuss, moving back to stand back in full rather than being somewhat hunched over to accomodate the size difference between them. He had held his own pretty well with his limited resources and knowledge, so it was easy to say that he had a fine future ahead of him so long as he managed to stay the course.
"I'd say he did well. His instincts aren't swallowed up while he's like that to be aware of danger still existing in all its variant forms. Not bad."

Vanguard.EXE As Var gave the stand down, Vanguard lowered his cannon, but kept his own grin as he saw the singe marks leave a more lasting blast than before. He heard Vamin's praise of his level head, even while in his Darksoul, but he didn't make many comments on his offensive prowess. There was much to be said of the singe marks on his outer hide, of course, so he didn't push that matter.
He pushed himself up and loaded his Dark Recovery into his hand, absorbing the energy from the chip to restore himself. "You have great strength, lord Vamin - I know you were holding back, but even with just your tough hide, I had to consider my resources to strike against you."
With that said, he looked back over to Var, realizing that he had yet to spar with his master yet. He would not presume to do so without his offer, and would wait for his recent wounds to heal before daring to challenge again, and so Vanguard bowed instead to Vamin for the opportunity, resting his hand over his eye subconsciously as he felt it burning yet again. This was the most unfortunate piece of his eye's growth, the pain associated with the energies unleashed by one of the four. Still, he stood up, and removed his hand, steeling himself against the pain. "What next, then, master Var?"
