~ Pride Castle: Alternate Timeline ~
An ominous, basketball-shaped orb floated unattended atop Creamland's Pride Castle. Amidst the confusion, Feint confronted the Creamland Knights, and Shine left Regis to confront Nightshade. The orb had called out with a dreadful voice to those present. In the original timeline, it had chosen Nightshade to carry its burden, but in this one, it chose Regis instead.
As the commotion from the others continued, the orb gave Regis the same speech about its pact, and from there, the two possible outcomes would continue to diverge as he never went on to explore the Luminescent Citadel with Shine, Nightshade never went on to be confronted by Grom in Element City, and Feint never went on to escort Burai throughout the real world. But this scene wouldn't pick up that far out: the new present consisted of Regis holding the sphere and the other parties resuming their confrontation with each other in spite of the object's choice of bearer.

~* BOOM! *~
In this universe, the Creamland Knights had the audacity to attack Feint first, and in a single shot of retaliation, she demonstrated why the knights of the MMM's main universe had originally made the correct choice in not engaging with her.
She smirked at the satisfaction of blowing them away, even further enthused that she could chalk this up as "self-defense" on top of that. Meanwhile, she noticed Shine was struggling to keep up with Nightshade -- a fight she would certainly lose -- but one that she could certainly keep occupied with for a much longer time than most would have expected.
That left Regis as the final subject of her gaze, standing there holding the artifact that could possibly contain answers she was seeking about the Dark Colony.
" Well, if it isn't Shine's Friend-One. "
Feint kept tabs on Shine long enough to know who she'd interacted with prior to using her as leverage to get into the NIA, but that was a longer story in a previous chapter that didn't have too much bearing here other than serving as an explanation to how she'd even recognize Regis. Incidentally, Rime would have, of course, been Shine's Friend-Two.
Needless to say, she wasn't the most fond of Shine's company, but that really wasn't anything personal considering she wasn't much fond of anybody to begin with.
" Before you set out, I've got a small request for your new toy. "
After having just fought the Knights, defending against their attacks had given her suit enough charge that she didn't need to bother negotiating with anyone to get what she wanted: if they didn't comply, she could actually do harm with her shots now instead of requiring them to hit her first.
" I just want to ask what it knows of the Dark Colony. Where it is and how to get there would be plenty to put me on my way. "
That all said, however, she really didn't care for the relic and was just concerned with completing her mission here. As fate had already decided though, the voice within the relic wouldn't answer her question, so how the scene continued to escalate from there was left open for discovery.

Regis stared at the relic for a moment, wondering at it. Ultimately though, with its words and demeanor, he found himself so utterly... disappointed. Talk. Patronizing. So many words spoken but in the end- His attention snapped over to the one who spoke up earlier. Ah. "The angry lady." Given her initial reaction, he felt it was a rather appropriate title to give her.
"You don't sound too happy with Shine though." He could help but remark, a grin appearing on his face. Well, he could see how that one would rub someone the wrong way, especially with how this one in front of him reacted. But, still. It was decently funny. Though he was a bit surprised that at her description of him.
"Are you keeping tabs on her?" At her follow up request, though, he couldn't help but pause and give a hum. It really wasn't a problem for him to do so. But with how the journey here had ended up... It was rather dissatisfying. And maybe she could be the one to break up that monotony, given how she reacted.
"Maybe you can ask it. How about we spar first though?" He didn't really care for the relic. But this request... Well. It meant a slight bit more.
Feint scoffed at his first question: whether or not she'd been keeping tabs on Shine. Not because he was wrong or anything, but because at this point, you'd think she actually was Shine's operator. Regis' other remark about her being an "angry lady" met no response since even she could admit it wasn't an invalid observation.
She thought for a second about his proposal -- not feeling too pressed for time and even getting to skip the part of her paradigm where she'd need to provoke her enemy into hitting her before she could shoot back -- and figured that would suffice to give them both what they wanted out of this.
" I'll take that offer. "
The energy from the attacks of the Knights she had just defeated still lingered in her suit to amplify her attacks. With an almost dramatic punch to the ground, she discharged all of it at once; clearly finding any good excuse to mess up the Knights' Castle as the discharged energy met the terrain with explosive force, blowing most of it apart instantly and encouraging others present to evacuate the area in a less-than-gentle way.
Regis wouldn't be harmed by it at all, other than possibly being thrown off balance by the associated quaking earth.
" You give off the vibe of a fighter that likes testing his limits; this should go well for you. My suit converts the force behind attacks that strike it to empower the strikes I give back, so the harder you hit me, the harder I can retaliate. "
It didn't need much more explanation than that. Feint spread her arms to the side with palms facing forward, as if welcoming Regis to attack. He'd get what he gave, now, so it was just a matter of how much he wanted.

She didn't deny either statement. He couldn't help but give a small laugh at that. If nothing else, it seemed like she surprisingly was in-line with his own thinking. Though, maybe that's because she wanted to beatdown something, he couldn't help but think as he eased his steps to maintain his balance with the sudden quake she let loose. Still, hearing the theory behind her technique... "That's a pretty neat technology." Honestly, he kind of wanted it for his own style. Maybe it wouldn't be quite the same but...
"Ah." If nothing else, this would be a good test. Three white full circles appeared on his weapon, a shine appearing around his head as it seemed to glow more intensely, before he vanished. He reappeared overhead, his weapon having shifted into a spear-like form, as he descended down upon Feint with a rain of blurring strikes, seeming to appear like illusions.
