~ Pride Castle: Alternate Timeline ~
An ominous, basketball-shaped orb floated unattended atop Creamland's Pride Castle. Amidst the confusion, Feint confronted the Creamland Knights, and Shine left Regis to confront Nightshade. The orb had called out with a dreadful voice to those present. In the original timeline, it had chosen Nightshade to carry its burden, but in this one, it chose Regis instead.
As the commotion from the others continued, the orb gave Regis the same speech about its pact, and from there, the two possible outcomes would continue to diverge as he never went on to explore the Luminescent Citadel with Shine, Nightshade never went on to be confronted by Grom in Element City, and Feint never went on to escort Burai throughout the real world. But this scene wouldn't pick up that far out: the new present consisted of Regis holding the sphere and the other parties resuming their confrontation with each other in spite of the object's choice of bearer.

~* BOOM! *~
In this universe, the Creamland Knights had the audacity to attack Feint first, and in a single shot of retaliation, she demonstrated why the knights of the MMM's main universe had originally made the correct choice in not engaging with her.
She smirked at the satisfaction of blowing them away, even further enthused that she could chalk this up as "self-defense" on top of that. Meanwhile, she noticed Shine was struggling to keep up with Nightshade -- a fight she would certainly lose -- but one that she could certainly keep occupied with for a much longer time than most would have expected.
That left Regis as the final subject of her gaze, standing there holding the artifact that could possibly contain answers she was seeking about the Dark Colony.
" Well, if it isn't Shine's Friend-One. "
Feint kept tabs on Shine long enough to know who she'd interacted with prior to using her as leverage to get into the NIA, but that was a longer story in a previous chapter that didn't have too much bearing here other than serving as an explanation to how she'd even recognize Regis. Incidentally, Rime would have, of course, been Shine's Friend-Two.
Needless to say, she wasn't the most fond of Shine's company, but that really wasn't anything personal considering she wasn't much fond of anybody to begin with.
" Before you set out, I've got a small request for your new toy. "
After having just fought the Knights, defending against their attacks had given her suit enough charge that she didn't need to bother negotiating with anyone to get what she wanted: if they didn't comply, she could actually do harm with her shots now instead of requiring them to hit her first.
" I just want to ask what it knows of the Dark Colony. Where it is and how to get there would be plenty to put me on my way. "
That all said, however, she really didn't care for the relic and was just concerned with completing her mission here. As fate had already decided though, the voice within the relic wouldn't answer her question, so how the scene continued to escalate from there was left open for discovery.
