The MMM has not forgotten the tried and true power of the Holiday Seasons. While Rosso and the gang may not yield too much to us in story, we can escape from their dangers outside of the story and enjoy some family fun, hosted by a strange group this year - the Boss Arena!
You can find the specifics of the rules here, but here is a brief synopsis of the event. Until we release an event for Valentines, or the end of February, whichever comes first, the Family Mix-Up Event will be available for a team of three Navis to gather up against a team of randomly selected bosses from those available to fight in the Boss Arena.
If you look at their rules as explained in the post, you may notice that some of the bosses have different stats and unique rules applied to them from how you would normally find them in the Boss Arena. This is intentional to make the event more difficult, and to also cater to the unique scenario of the event that pits you up against randomly selected boss teams, as opposed to teams designed to work in tandem naturally.
The event is broken up into difficulties: Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard. Very Easy is a cool breeze designed for easy entry of lowered version Navis, so that even the newest of the MMM's finest warriors can have a good family gathering; Very Hard is a brutal test of strength and merit, made even more brutal by the limit on the total power of the team gathered. Teams can even choose to accept more Handicaps in order to further increase the magnitude of their rewards!
As usual, this event grants benefits in the form of Red Mystery Data.

RED MYSTERY DATA CONTENTS
When accessed during December or January, Red Mystery Data contain enhancements to the Santa Hat Crest. The upgrades take up one of its two slots and the same one may be equipped multiple times, if desired. Additional upgrades may be owned, but only 2 may be set to the Crest at a time (you're free to change them during Stat Approvals).
When opened, you immediately roll a six-sided die and gain access to the appropriate upgrade, below. You can gain the same upgrade twice, so you only reduce the size of your die once you obtain the same upgrade twice. As per usual, possessing 12 RMD allows you to automatically claim all applicable upgrades twice. You may want to save your RMD in case you can defeat the Very Hard difficulty - the prestige award of +1 Upgrade to this Crest allows you to equip any 3 upgrades, including 1 up to 3 times if desired.
1 - Frozen Heart: User is immune to Freeze, strong to Ice, and deals +10% Ice Damage from all sources
2 - Warm Spirit: When Frozen by an opponent, User may sacrifice any Mega Chip to cleanse Freeze and restore 1 Use to 1 Skill instantly
3 - Kindred Spirit: At any time, User may sacrifice any Mega Chip to share their Healing Effects with 1 Ally this turn
4 - Festive Spirit: At any time, User may sacrifice any Mega Chip to summon a 1-HP Intercepting Object; this object will not trigger any outside effects upon hit/defeat/spawn/etc
5 - Snow Day: At any time, User may sacrifice any Mega Chip to augment the current Stage for 1 Turn, changing its element to Ice, all conditional positive effects to Ice, and all conditional negative effects to Non-Ice
6 - Joy Bringer: +1 Ice Element Level
These cannot be sold/traded.
Owners of the discontinued Christmas Chips may exchange them for their equivalent Upgrades.
Like any other piece of equipment, the 2 Upgrades in effect for your Crest can only be changed during reapprovals.
Red Mystery Data can be exchanged in the Mystery Data Shop for more varied rewards, or redeemed directly in the Mystery Data Accessor thread to open up their contents.
The new Santa Hat Crest, to be used alongside the Upgrades, is presented below.
