Be it overconfidence or tactical choice, High-Max doesn't take his pearl white eyes off of Nero despite the onslaught, instead dropping from his position in the air and swooping down towards the swordsman. He does this while ignoring the obvious implications of bringing himself in range of more direct attacks and uses his own speed, mass, and protective barrier to attempt to slam into the black-clad attacker. Along this speeding trajectory, Nero's attacks manage to land true on High-Max, but the barrier once again absorbs their power. This time, however, he has a few moments where he viably slows down on impact. Finishing his energy-infused lunge, High-Max rises again, this time reaching out both of his hands and sending out a double volley of plasma bursts from his palms. Each ball is substantially smaller than the first, but far faster and in greater number. High-Max fires them in two alternating wave patterns in an attempt to box Nero in, and then he begins to rise even farther than before in preparation for his next move.

A more direct approach? He certainly could say that he wasn't expecting him to engage him in close quarters. As a result even as he started to pick up speed, didn't quite get out of the way of the lunge thanks to the unique situation as well, the transparent field from before appearing as if with a will of its own to meet the lunge as it broke down from the charge and forced him back. He couldn't say he was surprised by that as he instead moved with his momentum, speed licking off of the tips of his coat as he turned about and halted himself just in time to see the next approach to the offense from High-Max in the twin volley of bursts. In response however the blue sphere that had been called to the tip of his sword at the start of the battle had reformed in its initial location, letting off the same oppressive array at the start toward High-Max in his new position as he took note of what was aiming to box him in, turning the sword in hand as the wind from before sprung to life. But it wasn't used to catch the alterating waves as instead he sped off, practically appearing as light as he instead made for his way above High-Max as he was going to begin his rise as the wind became an obsidian light that he let loose on High-Max to aim to push him down with the power behind it.

High-Max doesn't flinch, doesn't move. His white eyes, void of all personality and focus, shine through the rising inferno and continue to lock with Nero in an unblinking gaze. His palms open and meet before his chest with another orb formed between them, and then the shield shines.
High-Max: Futile.
The ball between the WWW enforcer's palms grows and surges. The shield expands and flashes, and the flames released by Nero spiral from their source, channel through the shield, and enter the orb, which then grows to a similar size to the first. While still holding this orb, it begins to spontaneously spawn a number of smaller orbs from the excess energy of Nero's attack. The orbs fly out in all directions from the core that High-Max now holds and start to swarm forward, roughly homing in on Nero's position as they explode across the field like a cluster bomb, tearing at the network as High-Max continues to look on.

"I surmised as much."
So far this was to be expected. Especially up to the point that the flames were channeled in like that. The history that he carried would make anyone who understood it know why that would occur. But he outstretched his hand as that very same excess energy came spiraling back to it, funneling in and amassing as it began to greatly expand and contract, growing stronger at an exponential rate as the lightning, wind, and fire of before became inert for a moment, placing the orb to his blade and running his hand along its length. The gems on it came to life before the elements began to spiral around the weapon before the azure flames sprung to life and were sent forward with his thrust of the sword. There was no thunderous roar to accompany it due to the force and speed at which it tore across the network at the WWW enforcer.
