Shine's quick action would serve well, as she would manage to land her strike as she was hoping for, but she found something else out as well. When she shoved her incorporeal hand inside to rip out whatever was causing the protocol to disrupt Regis' own attack in her attempt for counter-disruption, the discovery was that the head of the creature was relatively hollow given its size. It had the space to utilize the weaponry it was using like the bellow itself, but any sort of mainframe that was causing it to create this strange interaction wasn't at least anything tangible for her to pull out. Instead she could see that the outer shell of the lion had itself been influenced as she yanked her arm back out to retreat in time for Regis to strike in its disrupted state, causing it to once again collapse to the ground. This time none of the machines came in to bring it back together, allowing them to claim victory over the machine, Regis another time and Shine for the first time.

#s://i~imgur~com/EodXWY3~jpg It would have been surprising that the creature's head was hollow, but perhaps Shine shared that trait with the beast so she didn't pay it any mind. With the machine taken down though, and no bugs en route to revive it, she clapped gleeful at their victory -- sort of being her own cheerleader for a second there.
" How thrilling! Maybe we should dismantle it so that the bugs outside can't come in and find it. "
Who knows, maybe they'd find something useful among the scraps as well. Either that, or finding a way to bring it back to Grom for an "atta-girl" was how she'd like to deal with the remains.
" But of course, let's not forget your keycard either. It'll prolly open some door down the pathway the Lion was blocking. "

He spun his weapon, giving a sigh as he shot a grin over towards Shine. "Good teamwork this run. But yeah, that sounds like a decent idea. " Honestly, they worked rather well in tandem. It was a surprise, given how their interactions started. The idea to try to dismantle though... Giving how this, as well as the other one fought, it wasn't a bad idea. He gave a hum at the reminder of the keycard he was holding, knowing that there was likely still more to explore.
"How good are you with this sort of stuff?" Moving forward a kneeling down. He was rather adept with usual aspects, but given how different these two machines had been... He wondered if that would carry over, attempting to see what he could do as he held out a hand.

Not giving much concern in the way of being careful, Shine started at the most damaged parts of the machine and dislodged the loose pieces as best she could. The idea in her mind, after all, was to break it beyond repair so that they wouldn't have to worry about it standing back up ever again, much less during the rest of their time here. If any of the parts still worked and were salvageable, then that was even more reason to tear it down, but holding onto those bits didn't sound like a bad plan either.
And she'd keep an eye out for whatever looked valuable enough to bring back to Grom all the while too, of course, since bringing the whole thing back was sort of out of the question here.

As it was Regis himself doing the work this time, he would discover much the reason why the Overlord had made the claim he did before about crafting a weapon from these parts. But as he surmised, the overall feel was also somewhat misaligned with the previous one. Did they have a similar base and then deviate from there? His specialization in the field wouldn't quite let him learn those particular inner workings given their vastly different make. A Navi trying to analyze this foreign material would just take more time. But at the very least it seemed like it wouldn't be quite as volatile as Genesis had made out the last one in terms of making weapons.
Of which Shine had more or less dismantled and lodged loose as they carried about picking it apart. The most damaged parts were largely around the mane and head given that was their focal points, of which that was where the mouth weapon and other arsenal had been fired from. One would have to assume the sharpness of the claws were about the same at least in comparison to what a lion would casually invoke with their claws. It was as she continued her work that she noticed that her arm began to get hazy and fizz in and out as she got close to one of the parts she picked apart. The area around that had that same view in actuality, it just so happened she managed to pry into it then too.

Shine snatched her arm back immediately upon realizing the distortion, a horrified expression on her face as she though she had almost lost a limb just then. She wasn't even willing to do that shadowy-touch thing she had been more or less spamming since she'd gotten here in fear of what might happen if she kept prying with it.
" Feel free to think out loud about this. "
While Regis did that, Shine would do what she did best: whip out a notepad to start writing and doodling about her discovery using just barely legible text and glorified stick figures and shapes. Whether data on a prize was as valuable as the prize itself was no concern of hers; that information was as good as gold now and she treated it as such as she placed the note in her pocket for safe keeping.

Hm. Likely to no surprise, the feel wasn't quite 1-1 with the previous one. Although the similarities were of course present, there was enough to differentiate the two. A bit more stable, it felt, but equally difficult in trying to adapt to their purposes. He shifted a glance over to Shine at her cry. He frowned, getting up a walking over. "You alright?" That was definitely... not the sign that either way expecting, given her outcry.
"You still want to mess around with that thing?" Hard to say if it was a good sign or not, instead walking over to the claws and seeing about an integration with his own weapon.

Hopefully it wasn't too harmful to the touch, but assuming it was, Shine used the dull side of her sword to gently dislodge the hazzy object from the rest of the mecahnical parts around it, seeing if she couldn't get it loose and seeing if the sword wasn't too badly affected by the contact.
And if it wasn't, then perhaps her limbs were just fine after all, but she'd test with the inanimate object first just to be sure.

Shine had done right to test the inanimate object that was her sword first, as it suffered similar symptoms. But as she took a guess at, the symptoms at the very least weren't occurring as quickly with the sword as it had her arm. Likewise it was clear that while it was influencing some of the Citadel, it wasn't causing it to fade away completely either. It was possible that the mass of whatever came in range of contact with it was the deciding factor of how to interact with it. So perhaps with some effort and another approach, she could still manage to transport this to where she wanted. If nothing else, it was almost certain that no one else would pull off the feat before she could due in part to lacking the same knowledge that Shine had gathered here herself.
This attempt from Regis would be successful this time, as the claws went in to be integrated with his weapon. While it felt like he might lose his grip on it for a moment, he would find that he was able to reign it in after. What he would have in its place was a reinforced weapon that tore through some, but not all, defensive augmentations. It allowed for more flexibility in his attacks if he used some more energy to go along with it, culminating in a new addition to himself to be used from here.
Regis Acquired: Beast King Blade.

#s://i~imgur~com/EodXWY3~jpg " Hmm... "
Her singular braincell had never worked so hard in its life. Perhaps there was some kind of chip she could use to transport the object?
If one was to assume that she would summon another Windbox to blow the object out of the machine that housed it, now that the surrounding parts that held it in place had been loosened, then that'd just be preposterous.
" Oh, I know! "
But it'd also be correct.
The Windbox she summoned this time was at least much smaller than the one plugging the hole in the Lobby Wall, so she could carry it with her while moving about, but it didn't make the notion of using it like a leaf blower to scoot around a mysterious object along the ground any less jank -- or as the kids back in her day would call it: "ghetto"?
The shadow-hand technique thing still might have worked, but she just really didn't want to touch this thing it seemed like.
And as if seeing nothing wrong with this, Shine took notice of Regis' new acquisition and gave an impressed whistle at the augmented weapon he now held.
" Not bad! Now how about we go find where that keycard belongs, hmm? "

The feel was different for a slight second, but he managed to integrate it a bit more easily than he expected, all things considered. He twirled it around, giving a small hum with his experimentation. It definitely felt like it would be able to cleave through things with a bit more ease now, and was a slight bit more open to augmentation as he let energy flow through it. He looked over at Shine with interest, curious to see how it was going. But the sight of what she was doing made him blink. ...In all honesty, it was hard to blame her, given what had just happened.
"Yeah, pretty happy with it. And that sounds like a good plan." After all, there was more exploration to do. With that in mind, he began to move again, giving a glance back at his duo in this adventure.
"Nice thinking." It was both a joke, but also not. Not like they had too many options as of right now. It did make him wonder exactly what they would be able to do with it though.

Shine's single brain cell antics might have been working harder than it ever had before, but it at least was gathering results so far. She was able to at least gain her new acquisition like Regis, leading to their search for where to use the keycard in their possession. It granted no access to anything on the first floor, which left searching the second floor. The mostly demolished resting floor save for the areas of before led them to make it to the third floor, which would be their destination in fact. They were denied access when they arrived, only for the keycard they had found to light up in response to the floor, allowing them to gain access to the floor that was at first denied to them. This floor appeared to have some damages as well, but not the same as the second floor.
They would be able to find a semi-public database of all the Knight of Radiance members of the past, as well as maps of the Electopian, Netopian and, Yumland public networks and several small rooms for the navis to customize to their own use. Many of these rooms had been ruined, but it showed that they belonged at one time to the Tactician, the Medics, the Trapper, and the Leaders. With how defunct the Knights have been over the years one would expect the maps to be outdated, but they were up to date likely due in part to whoever's keycard they were now in possession of. Though Yumland certainly wasn't the most active of places now, with their collective knowledge, or mostly Shine's due in part to her miscellaneous information, she would know that some more recent developments in Netopia were exempt from the database. Likely whoever was updating must have met this snag somewhere around then, at least giving them possibly a date for when that Lion first arrived at this Citadel, at least two and a half months ago.

#s://i~imgur~com/EodXWY3~jpg Setting her rinkadink leaf blower down next to the object she was using it to transport as she entered the 3rd Floor, Shine took a look around at all of the new information that became available and began jotting it down, even tracing the maps not unlike an elementary child (or at least best she could, depending on their medium).
" I forgot Yumland even existed! "
Their borders had remained shut since the cold war started, and even after all of the recent events they still had been heard from. It would have been surprising to most that this Citadel was still in use even during the Juno Era, as KoR had been long disbanded by that point, but Shine didn't really think too deeply on it as she went about with what she was doing.
Netopia's recent ongoings being absent from the reports here made sense, all things considered. Again, not necessarily to Shine, but just in the meta sense of the situation: even the broadcasts of those events were warped to show something different than what had actually happened. Nobody still quite knew why that always happened, but at least it was consistent here as well.
" I guess the card key's owner was taken out by the Lion, kinda sad when you think about it. Or maybe they just dropped it while evacuating -- but either way, they can't be upset if we take what we find, right?"
Perhaps the empty rooms still had something of value related to each of their assigned roles, but for now Shine was caught up making her own logs of everything here.

It was finally time to explore more of the closed off castle. There were damages, yes, but definitely less than what had been shown in the areas previously open, moving through the now open third floor. He gave a small hum as they went through what was available. Information wasn't exactly his forte in a sense, but it never helped to be willfully ignorant. Still, this was a lot more upkept than he had expected, especially given the state of everything else, but showed even more that there was something else that was at play. Or had been. It was hard to say at this point. "You're not wrong about that."
He would leave Shine to do a more thoroughly interaction with the logs, the swordsman more interested in exploring what was around. "I'll take a glance around." He says plainly, beginning to explore what was available.

While Shine continued her logs and Regis would go exploring the rest of the third floor, one of the maintained rooms appeared as though it belonged to one of the leaders. While the others had been rather eaten through, a sign of the bugs at work again, this appeared as though it had been shielded by ice. Upon closer inspection to the room, Regis would notice that the air was rather poisonous in nature, more acidic than poisonous however. It looked like it was a variety of different ones used to melt down things that stayed in the area, likely an alteration made to deal with the resistance of the bugs in question. And from the doorway a frozen statue rose up from the floor with a crossbow, firing the arrow at the swordsman.
