Greetings all!
While we continue waiting for more votes in the Plans Moving Forward poll, it's about time we had another something-to-do in the meantime.
I had plans to revamp the Virus Horde a whiiile ago, but as things piled up that project got more and more buried. But now I've dug it back up, tweaked it a bit, and am putting it out here for Beta Testing!
Since specific things need testing, this event is going to be a bit more scripted than you're used to (once implemented, it will follow the same structure as before: randomizing incoming waves of viruses and blasting through them).
Before we get into that, and into the full preview of the new Horde Guidelines, here are a few changes I wanted to highlight:
1 - You can now enter with multiple Navis you own 2 - There's a chance for "Rare" Spawns now 3 - There's a chance for a "Mini Boss" Spawn now 4 - No raw Exp/Zenny, but more Gold MDs (so potentially more Exp/Zenny) 5 - Green MD's galore (so way way more Zenny) 6 - Can now trade in the Green MD's acquired for Sub Chips 7 - Stats were increased a bit, but still tentative (hence Beta Testing) 8 - Multi Targeting attacks nerfed (but no plans for full immunity to these anymore)
And lastly, battling as a group is being nerfed despite me still wanting to encourage it. Carrying people is great, it just doesn't need to be as easy as it is currently. The main perk of going in as a group though is the implementation of Sub-Chips, since each Navi gets 1 Green MD after each wave you can chain "Loc Enemy"s or something. More content in the future (hopefully) will be more geared toward rewarding co-op than this.
Now, for the sake of this Beta Test, you'll fight 3 Waves of enemies with at least one other player and only the following SubChips: - Mini Energy x2 - Full Energy x1
The Viruses you'll be fighting are: - Wave 1: Mettaur, Canodumb, Megalian, Ratty (all V3) - Wave 2: Bunny, Shrimpy, Spikey, Boomer (all V4) - Wave 3: Trumpy (V5), Swordy (V5), Big Brute
The Rewards for completing each wave are as follows: - Wave 1: Green MD x1, Gold MD x1 - Wave 2: Blue MD x1 - Wave 3: Unlocker Sub Chip x1 - If RP was turned on the entire time: One Chip of choice from the Virus Buster Quest ** As long as one member of your team survives, everyone gets the rewards
What does Unlocker do? You'll use Unlocker in conjunction with a Blue Mystery Data acquired from the Virus Horde (only) to change its contents. In the future, this may be changed to Purple Mystery Data but I can't be bothered to recolor the sprite, bite me.

Use the template in the next post (in the 3rd Spoiler) to create the thread, but use the mini-chart above for the viruses you'll be facing - If you have any suggestions to anything here, post it!
Potential plans for the future: - Multiple Hordes (different cast of Viruses/Mini Boss/Difficulty) - More Sub Chips (need suggestions for these, honestly) - More Quests surrounding clear missions for the Horde (IE: "Clear up to Wave 7 without taking damage")

ELECTOPIAN RANDOM ENCOUNTERS
{ What is the Virus Horde? (Click to Reveal/Hide) } In uninhabitated parts of the Net, viruses are left unmonitored where they have continued to grow and multiply over the years. Many of the most basic viruses of the past have evolved into much more powerful versions of themselves, comparable to the advancements that Net Navis have made as well. Navis are able to access these uninhabitated parts at their own risk, where hordes of Viruses wait to meet them for invading on their turf. NeONB, NIA, and Creamland Knights occasionally reward navis for keeping the malicious portion of the virus population under control through the means of extermination. They've set up boundaries around more dangerous areas that require specific license to be able to enter, which Navis can earn simply by proving their strength against the horde of viruses over a matter of time.
{ Limitations (Click to Reveal/Hide) } Thread Limitations ° Your navi cannot be in two virus threads at once ° You cannot join an active Virus Thread after it has already begun without Staff permission ° Achievements may not be obtained through Virus Horde ° To restart the waves, you must close the current thread, make a new one, and start at Wave 1 with a Difficulty of 1 ° Virus Threads automatically close upon completion of Wave 10
Battling Limitations ° Naturally, each Thread may only extend as far as Wave 3 ° By closing the thread, you will not be able to start a new one for 7 Days ° By completing a Non-NPC Stats Battle, your Thread has +1 Wave per 3 Turns it lasted (rounding down; less than 3 Turns nets 0) to a Max of +3 per thread ° By completing an RP Battle, your Thread has +1 Wave per 2 Turns it lasted (rounding down; less than 2 Turns nets 0) to a Max of +3 per thread ° By posting in a [Story] Topic, your Thread has +1 Wave (can only occur once per day) ° By posting twice in a [Open/Private] Story Topic, your Thread has +1 Wave (can only occur once per day) ° These extensions are only valid if the thread in question began after your current Virus Horde thread began ° "Spam" posts In-Story will be punished and will not grant extensions!
Group Battling Rules ° When fought as a group, any member of the group may operate Viruses ° All members of the group have their damage output reduced by a divisor equal to the number of members in the group (IE: In a group of 2, your damage output is 1/2. In a group of 3, your damage output is 1/3. Etc.) ° Thread Limit extensions are shared by the participants, but will only count each Battle/Story Thread once ° You're allowed to bring multiple Navis that you own into a Virus Thread

Virus waves will begin at Wave 1. On this wave, the virus summoned will have V1 Stats (detailed below). Upon defeating this first wave, you have the option to acquire or activate Subchips before spawning the next wave (no other stats-related events may occur during this intermission). From there, follow the same procedures for randomizing the next wave of Viruses as you did for the previous wave. You will have to roll multiple dice for the viruses summoned depending on which wave you're encountering, as depicted by the following chart: Virus Wave Chart° 1st Wave: One V1 Virus ° 2nd Wave: Three V1 Viruses ° 3rd Wave: Five V1 Viruses ° 4th Wave: Three V2 Viruses ° 5th Wave: Five V2 Viruses ° 6th Wave: Four V3 Viruses ° 7th Wave: Five V3 Viruses ° 8th Wave: Four V4 Viruses ° 9th Wave: Five V4 Viruses ° 10th Wave: Five V5 Viruses To determine which Viruses you will battle, roll a 1-51 sided dice for each spawning virus and compare the results to the following chart: Virus Spawn Chart(01 ~ 05): Mettaur (06 ~ 10): Canodumb (11 ~ 15): Trumpy (16 ~ 20): Swordy (21 ~ 25): Shrimpy (26 ~ 30): Bunny (31 ~ 35): Ratty (36 ~ 40): Spikey (41 ~ 45): Boomer (46 ~ 50): Megalian (51): Big Brute ° If you have any form of Initiative, you attack before the viruses (your allies don't) ° Otherwise, viruses attack first ° You must operate both your own Navi and the Viruses they are fighting using the stats below Stats are not replenished between Virus Waves° All remaining Cooldowns continue to tick down on your turns as normal ° Anything with a duration (Stage, Status, Hypermode) continues to tick as well ° All current Charges, remaining Skill Uses, and Current HP remain as they are Effects that trigger "at the start of battle" are reset for each wave° Preemptive Charges are accumulated at the start of each wave and can be applied to attacks that currently have charges in them ° "First Attack Taken" effects, such as Alpha Barrier, are reset with each wave ° "First Turn" effects, such as Initiative Upgrades, apply on the first turn of each wave. If the effects would last multiple turns (such as Ice Element) and the current wave is defeated before their effects expire, their duration is reset for the next wave (so they cannot stack with themselves) Multi Targetted Damage is split up among the targets affectedFor example, if an attack hits 2 Targets, it deals 1/2 damage to each target. If there are 5 targets and it Hits All Targets, it deals 1/5 damage to each target. This affects all forms of damage that would hit multiple targets, including Unavoidable, Stage, and Proximity Damage. Enemy Virus Attacks are not affected by this stipulation. Subchips and Intermission° After defeating a Wave of Viruses, you may acquire and activate Subchips before the next wave spawns by trading in the GMDs you have accumulated ° During this "Intermission" post, no stats-related events occur ° Subchips cannot be acquired or activated at any other time
