The city still burned, but that only added to the beauty of the water. Aside from the smoke, the day was clear with a bright sky, no wind, and no clouds.
The reservoir encompassed a large area that seemed to shimmer and sparkle as the light glistened onto it like a fresh coat of paint, or maybe even glaze for this matter.
Upon arrival, one would find that the poster really had been running late after all, as nobody, nor anything stood next to the water, except a tree with it's leaves rustling slightly, the same mentioned in the post to the BBS.

"Ooooh all alone in a spoopy scary ghost town." Thorn chuckled. "It's not the first time I'm left waiting...however, one has to wonder if this is actually waiting or if this is a trap."
The purple Darkloid leaned against the tree with his claws folded, dark power oozing from every pore.
"Let's see if this is actually something NSD needs to keep an eye on. Are you in position you?"
"..."
"Splendid. Now we wait our magnificently mysterious benefactor!"

PEWM!
From above, a charged Cannon shot erupted through the sound barrier, straight for the top of Thorn's head. Following the shot, Inori jumped down, claiming the spot Thorn stood in since she expected him to dodge. Well actually, that's a lie. She expects the infidel to repent by death alone. If he didn't evade it, she will simply continue her acrobatics into backflips at least ten feet away from the disgusting presence in front of her.
"Of course it's a trap you pathetic waste of time and code."
She raised her right arm, a stream of flames devoruing her arm up to her hand, dissipating to reveal her signature crimson blade, though now her hilt was decorated with beautiful roses with green leaves she had found at the flower shop. She stood straight up and pointed the blade at the scum that is Thorn.
A small window appeared next to Inori. The window contained a black screen with a green diamond on it. The words "No Signal" were written in blue within the diamond.
Crush: "Inori, be ready."
Inori: "Lead me to everlasting peace, Crush."
Inori waited for Thorn's next move...
Then decided to stop waiting as she attached her blade to her back and dug both of her hands into her core, causing it to enter it's unstable degeneration state complete with a whirring vortex of white shredded data. Pulling out both of her hands, they were now larger cannons, red and flaming with Inori's white flames. With quick charges taking less than a fifth of a second, she unleashed a barrage of heavy pelts upon Thorn. Each pelt had about the power to create a small crater in the dirt below them.

Thron gave the two attacking foes his classic, crap eating grin. "Called it."
*Twing...Boom!*
Another projectile came out of nowhere, deflecting the larger shell away from Thorn's face. It just grazed his left. "My my. What a showoff you are."
"..."
Thorn simply sidestepped Inori's pounce. "Oh look, how cute. The other one of them is called Cru-"
The entire area around him exploded. Which usually meant very bad things for someone standing right in the middle of it. Veeeeeery bad things. Usually a very bad thing called death. But Thorn...oh no, Thorn wasn't your run of the mill Darkloid. It was actually quite fun looking at people face when a body full of holes would slowly walk out the smoke, grin deviously at them as the hole sclosed up...and see them run away. Thorn's feet claws thumped on the ground, cracking it under his weight. Since the fight against a certain wolf, he'd become just a tad more massive.
"Oohoho! You cannot BELIEVE...how much this hurts." He casually snarked, exposing row upon row of sharp fangs. "In all honesty, not a lot. Try again!"
"Cut the cr*p and engage the target. I'll deal with the enemy Sharpshooter."
"Oh come on, Rein dear, One of your bullets can take down a whole skyscraper. They're just playing around."
"I have switced to a Hollow Point load to avoid unnecessary overpenetration."
"Wow you really DO want them dead eh?" Thorn kept his theatrical facade going. "Snrk, don't you see? We have Special Guests today. I know this gal. She's Nightshade's sweetie cinnamon bun. You wanna kill the cute little missy here. My My."
Now usually, Thorn wasn't one to attack friends of friends. But she did attack first...so this was pretty much self defense...yeah...a very fun self defense indeed. He casually removed the boots he was wearing, tossing them aside. As soon as his bare feet touched the ground, the net began decaying and corroding into a purple, poisonous muck.
"You've got some guts. attacking Nebula System Dynamic's Agents like that. But for the sake of playing along, I'll gladly take this dance. So, where were we? Ah yeah, ladies first..."
In an instant, the entire area melted into a lake of corroding venom with a...relevant number of spikes closing on Inori. "...now's my turn then!"
Unknown to all the participants, another figure was drawn in by the same BBS post. The creature melted into a puddle and disappeared inside the poisonous lake.

K-358.EXE
Slowing down his processors was like putting the rest of the world around him back into normal speed. When someone could move like he could, not being able to analyze the world at at least the same speed as he could move was like trying to drive blindfolded. The world around him was currently at normal speed, because K-358 was standing still.
Well, in a rough sense, he was standing still. He was actually phased inside of a building, vibrating at just the right pace to be able to stand inside of the wall, with only his eyes poking out. He stayed a respectable distance away from the agreed upon meeting place, wanting to see who would show up in response to that anonymous BBS Post - if some sort of deal was going to go down, it would be good to know who had access to such rare darkchips, and who their potential clients may be. His usual job mysteriously taken off of the grid, K-358 was free to do other tasks for the Animus Syndicate - sadly, that meant he was here, vibrating in a building, as the new arrivals to the scene were suddenly ambushed.
[ASKI] - K-358, do a freeze frame for me. I want to see the combatants before they start ripping into each other; to see if there are any merits to the deal.
K-358 snarled to himself, knowing full well that the ambushers just admitted there were no rare darkchips. Still, orders were orders, and so he ramped up his speed for a brief moment to take a quick run around the battlefield.
A freeze frame could be one of two things. First, K-358 could have literally frozen all of the combatants in the frame as he moved around freely. That is when he needs a time sensitive analysis of the situation, that he can later just run off from; such a task is very draining. The second type of freeze frame, which he was currently using, is when he just ramped up his speed to the point that everything around him might as well have been frozen; none of these combatants were going to be able to move fast enough, or see well enough, to notice his presence, or react to it.
He ran up in the midst of the explosive field, his own concussive aura making the explosive force useless against him. The dragon like Navi had a few holes in his body, which he could sense was trying to mend itself. While not literally frozen, K-358 saw him basically motionless as he reached for his boots, probably preparing to take them off.
[ASKI] - Thorn. He's one of the NSD's agents; they're interested in matters related to DarkChips, so, it makes sense that he's here. We'll want to be out of the area before he gets around to actually taking those off.
K-358 nodded, darting off to the other side of the battlefield, where he noted the woman in white tearing into her own body, and her allied sharp shooter. Taking a quick glance over, it seemed obvious that she did not, in fact, have any rare and unseen darkchips for sale; neither did her sniper friend. His Operator didn't have anything to say on them, so, he darted off in the opposite direction, following the smoke trails of bullets still hung in the air back to Thorn's own friend.
He was set up and preparing to kill. Looks like NSD expected it to be a trap, and came prepared. At least he knew that this was, in fact, a gigantic waste of time. The woman on the otherside laid out bait for darkloids to jump on, and got NSD agents instead. He sighed, before jokingly rearranging all of the bullets in Rein's holster, putting them all in the wrong pockets.
[ASKI] - Hey - I didn't say mess with his bullets.
"Are you saying not to?"
K-358 waited in silence for an answer that never came, but, didn't wait for long. He darted back to his original hiding spot, collecting himself.
"Can I disengage, Alex?" His orders were to scope out the scene, and, if anything happened, to handle the situation. It looked like a scuffle that he didn't need to get involved with, though, and, while he did a mildly pervasive thing to Rein's bullets, he mostly just wanted to be done here. Alex gave him the go ahead, and, so, he slowed down to more normal speeds, as the world picked back up around him, and darted off - very visibly - from the scene.

Inori: "Nebula? Agents? Do you mean to tell me that there's another syndicate that needs obliteration? How many darkloids exist within this facility? I would love to tally up my kill count."
Crush: "Inori, there's a combatant that suddenly popped up, but is exiting the scene."
Inori: "Is he a darkloid?"
Crush: "Can't get data on them from here, but they don't look like one from appearance."
Inori: "Have my systems been altered in any way?"
Crush: "Results show negative."
Inori: "Then label his signature as a civilian. We have no reason to fret over a child of innocence."
After her back and forth sass with her operator, she returned to the task at hand: Thorns poison and spikes.
The poison coated field seared away at here feet, slowly at that, and the spikes simply pierced her data, but quickly infused with it, becoming one with the small swirling vortex that was her core.
Inori: "Oh don't worry. I know it hurts. You don't have to hide it from me. You'll regenerate and regenerate but it will scar. And it will hurt. You're just like me, except insuperior and worthless degenerated data. I will expel you from this world and put your soul at ease."
Crush: "And the sniper?"
Inori: "What do you have on him?"
Crush: "Darkness lingers lightly within his code. He can still choose the path of light."
Inori: "No. He dies as well. It is too late for him. He will only infect others. He is too far gone."
With that, Inori unleashes another salvo amongst Thorn, then drops both cannons and reaches into her core again, pulling out her crimson blade for her right hand, and a boomerang chip in her left hand, chucking it far towards Rein's location to trip up his accuracy for a bit.
Crush: "Inori, is this really necessary?"
She pauses for a moment.
Inori: "Extremely."

Oh, well. It looked like this job was going to be easy. As usual, Rein covered the artillery coming this way. From the pool of venom, two very robust tentacles shoot up to Inori's arms, immobilization their objective.
"How generous of you, allowing me to control you by absorbing my poison in your systems all the way to the core." The purple dragon casually stated, walking through the smoke of the shells with a claw raised at Inori, commanding the poison inside of her to force the navi on her knees.
"Now, listen up. You too, Crush guy or whatever. Attacking people at random is a felony. Deleting people at random is a felony. While the ONB is pretty much gone, that does not mean laws are gone too. Now, I don't give a flying f on your Navist views and all...but you, Ms Hypocrite, should really learn a valuable lesson. Darkness has many shades."
Rein trained his crossair on Inori, pulling the bolt back to eject a spent shell. He reached into his pockets to grab something, but he did not find it. With the corner of his eye he noticed something very similar to K907 running away.
Speaking of K907...the agent was calling him. "Rein, Rein, disengage." The jackal chimed in from mission control. "You guys do not have clearance to use lehal force, let lone on a civvie"
"She attacked with intent of deletion. By now this is Self Defence. I saw one of your friends flee the scene as well...and all my stuff is in the wrong pocket."
K907 mused. "Oh? Why would 358 be there? The Animus is not interested in DarkChips. I'll look into it. By the way, I have something for you. Send it to Thron too when you can."
"...the very fact that I am here talking and not killing you should at least make you realize that you're the killing machine, not me. Trust me when I say that I lived through worse opponents." Thorn was towering on Inori, going on and on with stuff about darkness she had already heard from Nightshade.
A screen popped up in his face, interrupting him halfway into his monologue. Rein was forwading some intel from 907. Meanwhile, Rein was contactinc Crush himself...or at least trying to.
"Well well, would you look at that...looks to me someone is very pissy right now..." He announced to no one in particular.
Squatting down to her eye level, the dragon booped her nose with his claw. "Someone is very pissy because little Nighty is ignoring her. And so, you're taking your frustration out on what could have been innocents instead of two trained Nebula Agents. You actually knew this would attract attention. And you knew that if someone close to Nighty were to be attacked he would try to protect them. Clever Girl."

Crush used CthulhUni's PET to establish an Audio Only connection window to appear in front of Rein.
Crush: "What do you want from me."
-----------
Inori could feel that this scrap pile knew his poison well, and his control over it was phenomenal. She could feel that he was trying to bring her down, but it's strength was nothing while diluted, so she instead pretended to drop to one knee out of weakness as the large tendrils entombed her elbows.
As Thorn ranted on, Inori kept a dead, stone cold stare into his pathetic eyes. Up until the moment she mentioned Nightshade that is. She held her head down as he booped her nose, positioning himself close to Inori. What people who knew Inori already would expect a water work display of grief and regret, perhaps even a surrender to look for heelnavis instead. However, she wasn't crying. She was laughing. Slowly at first, but it quickly became hysterical which showed through her shoulders. This was a new sight, even for Crush. He had never seen her act like this.
Inori: "Oh ho ho ho... No no no. This.. this isn't for attention haha.."
She looks up as she says her next line, her eyes beginning to glow a crimson red, reminiscent of another Navi close to her.
Inori: "I NEED THIS."
At that moment, Inori bursts forward, both of her arms from the elbows to her hands being torn off from her allowing the tendrils to shred and decimate her data. Her body alone moved so quickly that Thorn wouldn't be able to react quick enough to what happens next, but since her arms were handicapped, he could instantly flick her off from prevent her from continuing.
She bit into his neck, with fangs. Thorn could feel that she wasn't absorbing much of his health nor did the bite hurt too much. But what she was draining besides slight amounts of his data was his poison.
Upon just a second after the attack Thorn would be able to tell that she planned on only mainly draining his poison from the two gulps she should be able to get in, but the real question was would he let it continue?

"Cease and Desist. This is your final warning. Continue to attack Agent Thorn and your navi will be permanently deleted."
Thorn was kinda taken by surprise. He did not expect anyone to try and...drink him. Especially considering his poison was kinda like bleach to humans when drunk. Still, it was a method like any other to pacify the little girl.
Thorn would wrap his claws around Inori and pull her close to his chest, before also coiling his tail around them. He would instantly modify his poison into what he referred to as the Aphrodisiac Slumber. While not really toxic per se, it was a strong anesthetic, and induced a pretty strong addiction. In short, his targets would sedate themselves without knowing. He allowed the girl to keep on swallowing the anesthetic. It was only a matter of time before she knocked herself out. Just in case she tried to escape, he made sure she couldn't.
By now Inori was completely drenched in Thorn's poison. Smooth, cold and sticky like honey. Every bit she drank had enough anesthetic to knock out an elephant in seconds and enough Dark Power to turn souls Dark in an instant.

As Thorn encased her, his grip was lost as her data seemed to all turn into shreds of data, rematerializing 10 feet beyond Thorn's position.
Crush: "That won't be hap--INORI!!"
Now noticing what the heck was just going on, Crush drops the audio connection to Rein and goes on a flabbergasted rant.
Crush: "Inori are you mad?! Is THIS why you wanted to activate your father's coding? What does this solve! You'll only taint yourself to be one of them."
Inori was standing with her head slouched towards the front, her arms still streaming threads of data hung down as well. Once Crush spoke to her, she slowly lifted her head up, arching her back and grabbing the sides of her face with her torn elbows.
Inori: "Ahhhh.. ahhhh.. Crush.. you don't understand. I am completely sane. This thirst.. the same my father has, it's.. it's.. WONDERFUL!"
Her eyes transfered into a glowing gold, sparking even as she threw her arms out, causing a massive explosion of light to encase her and the field. The poison Thron was releasing was neutralized by the piercing light of heavenly hexagons that arose within their vicinity. Inori emerged from the flames with her dress now being adorned with a black dress and purple accents.
Inori: "You see Crush, by having this thirst, I can use their power as my own. My mother may not have been able to handle the chaos data Rosario infected her with, but I, I!, can use it to empower my hunger for justice!"
Inori was brought down to a knee, realizing something was wrong, and keeping her from regenerating her arms. Normally Crush was on point with live analysis, but he stood still shocked from everything going on. What had he done, or rather, what had he allowed himself to do to Inori? Was this really going to be the best for her? Sure, absorbing others data could help expand her life.. but dark power wasn't something to be messed--
Inori: "CRUSH!!"
Crush: "Y-y-yes! Sorry!"
Inori: "SYSTEM ANALYSIS, NOW!!"
Crush: "Uh.. let's see.. t-the poison you absorbed, it was trying to freeze your processors, but your S.P. Regulator was able to repress it to just your weapon systems."
Inori turned to look at Thorn, once again disgusted with the look of a darkloid.
Inori: "What a piece of scum. Give me the location of your Nebula Trash Heap. We can settle this at a later date when I finally find my mother."

Normally, Thorn would still be cocky and all. The problem is...he was serious.
"Rein! REIN! I SAID STOP!"
"Section 3b chapter 5 comma 43bis. Subject ignored verbal warnings and continues to be a threat on society as a whole. Infractions recorded, non lethal approach negative. Lethal force is now authorized to neutralize the target."
"OVERRIDE, OVERRIDE. F** PROTOCOL! IT'S A F** ORDER!"
"...too late, furry butt."
A thunderous roar echoed through the air as a full power load was sent down range by Rein. He had been clear with them. That was their last warning.
Thorn knew trying to intercept the thing was impossible. He would have consumed the bullet in acid, but with Inori doing her fancy thing there wasn't going to be enough Poison in her area to create a shield with. Not with Rein's bullet velocities while he was seriously trying to murder someone. Those things warped space-time in some cases. The fact that Rein's body was currently spontaniously combusting meant that was one of those times.
If that thing hit the target...they'd need to register and confirm a kill on the mission log.

Inori's eyes continued to spark with a golden hue, she stared at the shot that rocked the world, everything seemed to slow down as it rocketed through the air, but that's because everything had slowed down. Inori gave a small surprised expression before realizing this was her window to vanish step. But each time she tried, it only returned in error. Panicking, she tried getting up, but forgetting her arms were now only half as long, she practically started stumbling backwards, aligning the shot to her core.
Crush: "INORIIII!"
Inori: "Mother... father... I just wanted us all... to be happy again..."
Re-entering real time, the bullet smashed through her core accompanied by the sound of breaking glass and vanished into the ground.
Inori stood frozen, unreactive, unresponsive. The damage to her advanced anti-viral and life prolonging systems was so massive all at once that it could not physically process what had just happened.
After a moment, a crack of shining gold appeared from the hole that was now her core to her neck, another second and another crack could be heard from her core to her legs, and another from her core to her arms. Then suddenly, the sound of glass shattering as if slammed against a tile floor erupted across the area, as all of Inori's being broke into insurmountable amounts of fragments, floating effortlessly towards the sky. Though, Crush wouldn't find them returning to her PET.
<Inori.AXA; Permanent Deletion> ======= Crush gripped his PET with sheer force, his face practically glued to his screen, short of breath gasping out of desperation. The damage done to Inori rooted back to the PET, causing it's screen to forever freeze on the tragic moment of impact as the bullet flew past Inori, and her being started to crack apart. Though spared from fully seeing her fade away, he knew what had happened. The glass shattering pain would reverberate within him. He wouldn't be able to lie to himself.
He set the PET on the desk, the image of Inori it held was her from a side view of the impact. He slumped in his chair, mouth wide open, tears just streaming down. He couldn't believe what had just happened, he couldn't process it even. How could he let Inori down, when he always swore to protect her? What kind of pitiful excuse of an operator was he?
He brought his hands to his face, and began to sob, but with no one home, there was no one to hear his lament.

Ejecting the spent shell, Rein's body cooled down to normal remperatures. "Threat Neutralized."
Thorn shook his head, with 907 smashing the console in Mission Control.
