--Appearance
Roman Centurions, in their day and age, were very much the image of combative expertise, formative efficiency and physical perfection. Centurion is designed in their likeness, with heavily padded but incredibly flexible leather-bound, iron-wrought armor, his chestplate contoured to the outline of his muscled torso underneath. His tri-scalloped shoulder guards descend down the length of his arm, meeting just above where the frill of his gauntlet ends over his forearm, the grey metal of his armor cjugstling with electricity down his arm.
His fingers are bound in simple leather gloves, underneath the metal gauntlets. His chestplate leads down to his boots with an armored skirt, cut into pointed ribbons and banded with iron rings; his metallic shinguards, just underneath, are trimmed by electric yellow motifs, but dirt stained and battle worn, as is the rest of his armor.
Atop his head is the signature round-helmet and open face that the centurions bore, the large helmet covering all of his head save for his face. Beneath the armor, his design is that of a simple man, his bronzed, muscled skin rippling where it shows between his gauntlets and chestplate, and between his shinguards and hip. His helmet is outfitted with a mouth guard, leaving only his eyes, cjugstling with electricity, visible of his towering physique.
He carries with him a double-sided spear, with a long, thin, black lance on one end, and a broader, more direct white spear on the other. Between the two ends of the weapon, lightning cjugstles and shifts, a constant current flowing between them at varying levels of intensity.
In truth, Centurion is the spear he wields; his intelligence and capabilities are within the spear, and he simply exerts his will over the electrical current within him to project the image of the warrior that carries him.
--Personality
Centurion is more than a warrior by name; he is a warrior by profession. He has been hard wired and designed (literally) by code and experience into a steel-honed, battle-ready combatant. Constant drillings, testing, application and correction have, possibly quite dangerously, honed his mind into that of a soldier.
He follows orders and directives almost to the tee, his split-second decision making often creating slightly riskier but overall more advantageous situations. He is the soldier that is released onto the field of battle to get results, because he knows what he is doing, and knows how to execute both tasks and adversaries.
He cares little for things not involved on the field of battle, and that is due to a fault not his own, but, his creators'; he has not had much experience out of the field, and his defining characteristics - steely personality, stern resolve, unflinching loyalty and devotion to the cause - have been forcefully hardwired into him. He's developed a level of pride in his abilities and something of a superiority complex against his lessers, but, this complex was quickly corrected into a more beneficial view of a leader to his fellow soldiers rather than to his lessers. He's aware of what he's capable of, but, grossly unaware of social conventions outside of war.
--Background
Project Darklight uses extensive training in order to test their creations, long before they are ready to actually enter the field alongside the rest of the team. Members released, ready and prepared, have undergone weeks, sometimes months, of rigorous training, in whatever field of combat it is that they are supposed to specialize in; sometimes so much so, that they have little time to develop personalities. So few from the project live up to the expectations of the team, that they are ultimately either discontinued or end up being deleted in a training exercise.
Centurion's specialization was, in fact, in brutal, fast-paced combat. Split-second decisions made on the field of combat, with the assumption that he was fighting alongside allies and foes alike, that result in a more advantageous situation for he and the team he was on. It was very difficult to create a Navi with Centurion's control and expertise on the field of battle without a leadership role - he, indeed, can lead his fellow warriors, and such a feat is one of his defining attributes as a warrior; he not only understands the field of battle from his own perspective, but, from the perspective of the whole. In return, however, he had to learn how to take orders - and that was difficult.
He had to be hard wired and drilled, in formation line ups and offensive tactics, and, most importantly, his own proficiency in battle. He was thrown against simulation after simulation, test after test, until he was designated as ready.
Released into the field, with little to his name than his intense training and boistrous personality, Centurion has to make a name for himself - under the ever watching eye of his creators, and his superior.
