Just as scarface had mentioned, it seemed that Kotobuki still existed and whas thriving with...weirdness. Stopping just before the entrance, the feline navi looked at the big purple walls. The Gospel barriers. It was time to see if the powers he gained from Greiga allowed him to pass through without getting horibly twisted.
A moment of focus and the terrain crackled and shook as a pillar of purple flames changed Nightshade's features into Greiga's Avatar. The navi was still unsure about all of this, questionin if this wasn't yet another trap set up by someone within the undernet. It would not surprise him. Yet, there he was...out in the open.
NIghtshade sighed before he moved his paws forward, walking towards the barrier and placing a claw on it just to see if anything would happen at all. He couldn't really see to the other side, so after a few more moments of indecision he decided to step through into the unknown.
Within the depths of the Kotobuki network, Nightshade finds him within a strange, unique area. The network is obviously archaic, comprised almost exclusively of floating hallways over nothingness. However, the entire area bends and deforms in nearly impossible ways. For this reason alone, reaching the end of this maze of madness would be an impossible task.
...but who said anything about getting to the end?
Nightshade would feel a hand touch his shoulder, followed by an abnormal amount of physical strength pulling him back. Before he can possibly react, Nightshade finds himself pulled through a tear in the network and into a new network entirely; a small, sterile, one-room network full of devices used for Navi creation and programming. And amid it all stands a Navi...
Strange in design to say the least, the majority of his body is covered in what appears to be a white lab-coat turned into armor that sways behind his body like cloth. Thin and lythe, this odd form stands looking down at Nightshade from expressionless gold-pupiled and black-scleraed eyes that are framed by a gas-mask like appendage attached to his face that juts out to either side in a manner similar to a wide white mustache. However, the most eye-catching of all details on this navi is the large, lightbulb-like cranium that he seems entirely unbothered by. Obviously designed after the famed NumberMan in design, it rises like a white crown from his head with blue details that holds the large red dome in place.
?: A quick one, aren't you? When the assassin told me to expect company, I thought that you'd give me at least ten minutes.

NIghtshade looked over to the strange navi, still somewhat shaken about the whole ordeal. "Yeah. I'm a fast one." He simply replied, not knowing how to go at it, and what Scarface actually told the guy. "I got told you can fix me. Not for the Juuka. This is a thing I would like to keep. It's about a strange curse I apparently have on me."

The odd professor before Nightshade looks the Juuka over in a manner that one might read a book; reading his every bit of data carefully as he goes from spot to spot, already scanning Nightshade over with his own eyes.
?: Yes, yes. I am aware of your plight. Though I will say, I expected such glitches to be caused by something much larger than.... well... you.
A table rises behind the doctor, complete with data-reading devices and extensive tools of various use. The bulb-headed Navi then steps out of the way and motions to it, obviously requesting that Nightshade lay down.
?: So here's the deal that I'm willing to give to you. I will look into your issue and see what I can do about repairing it for you. However, in return you are to allow me to look into the Griega data that you've been infected with. I've studied Juukas for many years, but never have I had the opportunity to research one up-close. Do we have a deal?
The doctor leaves the terms to Nightshade, awaiting his response as well as waiting for the Navi to go to the table.

Nightshade looked over to the table. "Oh, you studied Juukas? Well, so far I seem to be the only one in full control of myself while channeling Greiga...however it seems like my Juuka is more tame and way less powerful than what it should be. I mean, you said it yourself no? I don't really have that intimidating aura others Juuka had in the past. I guess it would be okay if you wish to take some notes. However, just a look. If I feel like you're tampering with my systems...well, that won't do."
Nightshade did as instructed, laying down onto the table. "So...what's your name, Mister? I'm Nightshade. Nightshade.Rx. What's the deal about those glitches you speak about."

The Navi gives a nod as Nightshade takes a seat and lays down, the heat of the bright light radiating down onto his face. The doctor then turns to a nearby table and begins looking at several bits of data, searching for what he wanted.
?: And that's precisely why I want to study it. It is very much unlike the Juukas of old, which tells me its source, if not its entire nature, differs from what we've previously considered a Juuka. In fact, depending on what we find, we may better understand what exactly it is that causes Juukaism in some Navis.
The strange doctor raises one particular piece of data and looks it over as he speaks.
?: As for the glitches; that's our main reason for meeting today, isn't it? While I wish to understand the Juuka, our first and foremost goal is understanding what's caused these issues for you, as well as how to fix the issue. Perhaps we could fix the issues with the net as a result, hmm?
The doctor turns to Nightshade and places the data that he'd been working with on the Juuka's chest, allowing it to absorb itself into his body.
Oh, and my name is Dr.Psyche, former OEL researcher of Project Eon. As for your worry; I will not tamper with anything beyond your current "curse" as you put it. Not that you'd be aware if I d....
....and, just like that, Nightshade is out. His mental functions cease entirely, leaving his fate in the hands of Dr. Psyche....
An indeterminate amount of time later, Nightshade awakens on Psyche's table, feeling exactly as he had before going under. Psyche, meanwhile, types away at the console at the back of the room, looking on intently as he speaks.
Psyche: I must say, your data is fairly impressive. Nebula System Dynamics, if I'm not mistaken. They are capable of some solid work.
Psyche pauses for a moment, tapping away at his keyboard.
Psyche: Feel free to check yourself, I've not made any changes or additions to your system. My tests are, as of yet, inconclusive. You may as well sit back until I can get the results. Shouldn't be long now.

Nightshade quickly hopped of, examining his juuka form. Twitching up and over, flapping his tail around before stretching. "Right. I guess I should thank you for not killing me. You're right. Nebula Systems Dynamics created me. From my paws and tail to my soft rubber armor." He backflipped once. Yep. All normal.
"I...think I heard you talking about what caused the Beast Factor to alter my code before you knocked me out? It's...a long story. I actually met Greiga in person and got my arm bitten of by him. Then...well the first change happened after a strong emotional outburst. From that point on I was able to control it. Although, some abilities waste alot of stamina when used. Like AutoLockOn."

As Nightshade speaks, Psyche nods.... but then he suddenly freezes, looking over the data before him with great care. He then stands up and takes a medium-sized, bladed instrument from the table next to him and walks over to Nightshade.
Psyche: Ah, your story has appropriate timing. We now have many of the answers that we'd hoped for. Let us deal with the first, shall we?
Psyche takes the knife-like instrument and holds it blade-first to Nightshade's chest, where it begins to glow.
Psyche: The tests show that you have some form of data that was placed in your body. It apparently reacts to a very specific data signature nearby and releases a pulse that alters a server at its very core.
Psyche slowly pulls back the bladed object from Nightshade, and with it comes a small, dark purple orb. In this moment he would know that his "curse" had been lifted. Psyche then contains the orb, placing it on his desk in a secure container.
Psyche: On top of that, it seems that part of you has changed... or possibly is changing. A fair percentage of your data has been altered, turned into... I'm not truly sure what, but it's unscannable, and is not data as we know it. What does this mean? I am not entirely sure. I've taken a sample of this substance from your body and will run farther tests on it.
Psyche then walks back to Nightshade and stands before him, seeming nearly lost in thought as he does so.
Psyche: ....Oh, and speaking of parts of you that are not actually parts of you...
In one clean motion, Psyche brings the instrument that he'd been using around and digs it into Nightshade's restored arm, severing it in one swift motion before placing it in a container as well.
Psyche: ....this isn't a part of you either.
Psyche walks up and places a patch on Nightshade's stump, causing the damage to stop entirely before walking up and taking the container that holds the severed arm... which has transitioned into a sinister black figure.
Psyche: However it happened, this "arm" was actually a symbiotic virus. It was operating as your arm, awaiting the moment of your deletion... at which time it would have gone berserk.
Psyche stores away the virus for later study, still speaking as he does so.
Psyche: As for your Juuka form... the virus was likely given to you when your arm was bitten off by Griega, but it should remain intact. I also understand why it seems weaker than expected and why you have control over it. Apparently this is primarily residue, leftover data from Griega that merged with your systems. This fact is very unique, as I've never seen a case of it happening before. Something must have had influence over Griega before it bit you in order to make such a transfer.
Psyche looks upward for a moment, stroking his chin as he does so.
Psyche: ...perhaps the beast had been prepared for another use, and your intervention saw its transfer early...?
Psyche shakes his head, coming back to the moment.
Psyche: More questions than answers at this point, but for now you should be out of danger. Fully powered or not, the ability to control a Juuka-form like this is unique, and should not be underestimated. In all truth, your control over it may indirectly make it more powerful than the full-powered variety... if harnessed correctly.
Psyche's mind wanders again, considering the implementation of this unique data symbiosis and its applications... before once again coming to his senses.
Psyche: Oh, and my systems are already in the process of programming a new arm for you based on your remaining arm. It will be ready soon.

Nightshade looked over "A symbiote? What would be his purpose? Does it have any sort of intelligence? I mean...it gave me an arm...and it wasn't really hurting me. I have never seen anything like it."
He sat down on the table, pondering. "The other substance within me might be DarkMatter. I share some traits with a particular navi. It's what lets me do this."
Nightshade's body shifted, becoming tanslucent and see through. His whole being was as gelatinous as the Shadow Devil, but with five red orbs and pulsing red veins inside him. His armor turned black and red while his helmet shifted into a mask covering his eyes. "This is the final result of my conversion into a War Daemon. I acquired this from from a dear friend of mine who I consider a sibling. She's...she's been the only one who ever saw something in me.My...obsession to become as wise and strong as her pushed me to absorb and integrate her data within me in an attempt to emulate her feats...
And that may be the reason why Greiga's data is now part of me. If what you say is right then it changes some things. I was gonna ask you to make me special like Eon, but maybe I just need to draw out my latent power."

Psyche brings an eye back to Nightshade as he speaks, looking him over and not giving a retort until the feline Navi had finished entirely.
Psyche: ...not very perceptive, are you?
Psyche turns back to Nightshade, looking around the room for a moment as he does so.
Psyche: The virus was a time-bomb, set to wreak havoc on your deletion. Why? I am not sure, but it was intended to do quite a bit of damage. You were set to be used as an unwitting weapon. And as for your data change; that's not it at all. Data from any other net-being is still data, no matter who it comes from. What now comprises a good portion of your being is not data at all, and not connected to any customization activities that you may have done yourself. At this point, something has been turning you. If it continues, there will be no data to classify you. It's conceivable that you could become incompatible with the net as a whole. However, I'm not seeing any signs of that, so it's unlikely.
Psyche trails off for a moment, looking to the side. Despite his lack of facial emotion, it's obvious that he's somewhat angry.
Psyche: And as for those "upgrades" that you were going to inquire about; I wouldn't curse any Navi with the hell that Project Eon underwent. Count yourself lucky that you weren't a party to any of that.
As Psyche finishes, a machine drops down next to him, attaches to his arm-stump, and re-codes an arm for him, one that works as well as his original and matches him flawlessly.
Psyche: That should be it then. I'll inform Scarface that you're clear to enter the Undernet. And should I find out anything that directly concerns you, I'll be in touch.
"Hm. Well if you say so. Thanks for the help Mr.Psyche. Now I can go find that statue I need and possibly unlock more of Greiga's powers within me." Nightshade moved his new arm around testing it while releasing his power to turn back into his black grey and green self. "By the way, is there anything unique to see or buy around here? Seeing as those Gospel Barriers divide the net from this area, you don't really get the chance to visit this place at all."
The doctor just shakes his head, folding his hands behind his back as he does so.
Psyche: The Gospel server is not a friendly place, in fact its extremely dangerous given long-term exposure. This is why not even I spend much time there; my lab is actually in an adjunct network. Despite my natural shielding against bugs, not even I want to spend any more time out there than I have to... and I'd advise the same to you.
