Battle Post: 7 The endless shards of ice that turned inward and assaulted Asymptote were a little more intense than Krystania had intended. She had thought the warrior able to better protect himself against them, and so now as she watched, she couldn't help but let a frown crease her features. The savagery of it was not what she expected, and she actually took a step back away from Asymptote, the large warrior collapsing upon the ground in a rush of pain and blood. She moved a hand up to her mouth, the darkness around her blade dissipating. She moved with careful steps around her opponent, giving him a wide berth as she struggled to see if there was something that she might do, in order to redeem herself or perhaps simply just allow the ability to show the man the slightest bit of compassion after an attack as such.
She hesitated, but began to take a step forward, when she saw the darkness beginning to suffuse the other. Her eyes widened slightly, the crystalline orbs watching every movement that was occurring before her. She retreated a step, un-taking the one that she had just taken a moment prior, her gaze steadfastly on Asymptote. Then she heard him speak, and the resulting words sent a shiver down her back. That wasn't what she had expected to hear. She had heard of the Darksouls before, but this was the first time, as far as she knew, in seeing one. The behemoth rose to his feet, still bleeding though the wounds that covered him seemed to not even matter. He looked as ready to fight as he ever had, and that, to Krystania, was unsettling. The surest time an animal was the most dangerous was when it was cornered, and right now, that's how Asymptote looked to her.
"..." Krysania was silent as the beast continued to speak to her, demanding that the fight continue. He was in control of his Darksoul? From what she could see, she wasn't so sure, but she was willing to...accept that. The holding back wasn't a concern in her mind- someone in the state of Darksoul wasn't someone to take lightly. In all honesty, she wanted to call the fight here. While she had some control over the powers of darkness, she was nowhere near at a point where she'd let a Darksoul take over her. She was still her own person, and she'd fight anyone who said otherwise til the very end. However, she also couldn't leave Asymptote hanging. If nothing else, she needed to keep him focused on her, as she didn't want him to suddenly go on a rampage and start attacking the stands.
She forced a smile to her face then, the ever-present cheer coming from her. "All right then! Let's go round two!" she called. Her own battle regeneration was starting to kick into high gear so hopefully she could match her opponent blow for blow. The woman held her blade to the side, the blade growing into a serrated frost edge as she held it. Her breathing began to show in the air now as the temperature around her began to plummet in her utilization of the cold. She doubted that she could do much harm to him when he was in Darksoul, but she could certainly slow him down. Spinning once with all the grace of a dancer, she slammed the point of her blade down into the ground, and at once, a wave of frost began to burst forth from the very earth itself, rapidly streaking toward Asymptote, even as Krystania removed her blade and readied it in front of her to defend against whatever he threw next.

Battle Post: 8
Asymptote looked over Krystania, the crowd roaring behind them all the same, though...some navis seemed...actively scared of what had transpired. Krystania was hesitating. Her first time seeing a dark soul? Regardless, Asymptote wasn't about to rampage around. She was his opponent, and more importantly, he was going to not let himself go crazy. This was a simple match, a friendly spar. He wasn't going to actively go for the kill, but in the same thought, he wasn't going to let her win unless he knew he was an inch away from death. Delete her. The ghostly voice in the back of Asmyptote's head rang out. Show them they have a reason to be afraid myself. SHOW THEM TERROR. It rang out again. Even louder in the back of Asmyptote's mind. He felt control slipping from him, if only for a brief moment. His heart wavered as he shook visibly. You. Are not the one in control, me. I AM. Asymptote shot back, time slowing to a crawl within the back of his mind. But before he could do anything else...a voice brought him back to reality.
All right then! Let's go round two!
Asymptote nodded at her as he brought himself back to reality. He needed to keep his focus on his opponent, not the other self that lay in the back of his mind. He was the one in control. Not the other self. He would fight back against it even if it killed him. And he knew it might come to that as he grew stronger. But as soon as she slammed her sword into the ground, ice began to crash up through the ground in front of him. His body practically moving on it's own, as Asymptote quickly jumped backwards from the attack, moving to the left as the ice continued to try to attack him. He wasn't about to let her get away with that. The aura that surrounded him began to condense, slowly swallowing it's self up as it disappeared into his body.
Nice trick, Krystania. Now let me show you mine. The navi stated simply. Jumping into the air, crossing his arms as the aura flared to life on it's own, an even thicker darkness surrounding Asymptote as he briefly hovered in the air a good five feet off the ground. And, Audience, Krystania, I am in control of myself. I won't attack anyone who isn't part of this sparring match. He attempted to reassure everyone, despite his distorted voice. But despite everything, Asymptote readied himself, shoulder out, despite the blood that had stuck to his wounds, they began to morph. Spikes starting to stick out of the blood that had hardened, as he swiftly fell towards Krystania, his shoulder honing towards her as he attempted to hit her with his full bulk, sword or not, she would feel the impact as flesh and bone hurtled towards her at high speeds.

Battle Post: 8 The woman gave a small 'tut' as she saw him move away from the icy trail, her blade holding true as she waited for something to transpire from her foe. He was in the bonds of darksoul now and that frightened her, but she wasn't going to let it show. Her expression instead formed one of indifference and amusement, even if on the inside, her synthetic heart was pounding heavily. She wasn't sure how to proceed here. She didn't know how to fight against a Darksouled navi. She drew back away from him as he moved, the woman's feet flitting over the ground, trying to find some form of purchase to keep away from him, but the Darksoul was giving him strength, and power beyond her understanding. The woman's blade readied itself as she saw Asymptote go into the air, and she knew that it would be soon that her weapon would become the one thing standing between her and deletion.
Her opponent's voice rang out to the crowd then and she frowned, not entirely sure that she believed him. Certainly, he said he was in control...but something within her said that it was dangerous to trust him at his word. That she shouldn't just allow him to do as she wished, but she didn't really have any way to stop him, right now. The man was possessed with dark energy that was beyond her level of power. She had some control over the darkness, but that wasn't anywhere near the level that he had. She hissed in frustration as she saw the spikes beginning to emerge from his form, and rather than move, knowing full well that he was going to be faster than her, she made a gesture, the ice beginning to form over her feet and legs, anchoring her to the ground as she saw the other start to hurtle toward her, like a flesh-and-spike comet.
She gave a small sound of effort as she felt the entire mass slam against her, the woman having turned the flat of her blade around to protect herself, the ice that has surrounded her legs cracking slightly under the impact. "Not...bad..." she grunted through grit teeth as her sword acted as a shield against his incoming power, the woman struggling to keep him from dealing too much damage, but the impact force was more than she could handle. In just a momentary sense of impact, the ice around her legs cracked, before she was sent flying backwards away from him, the woman landing on the ground. Hard. Her breathing was a little ragged, but even so, the woman wasn't done. She focused her battle regeneration into her legs, driving her blade into the ground to pick herself back up. Wounds covered the woman's body but unlike Asymptote, she wasn't programmed to bleed. The wounds were present and showed through to her body beneath, but no blood drizzled forth.
"I see you're going all out. Allow me to return the favor!" Krystania called, the positive presence lessened slightly in her fear as she channeled the powers of the Dark that dwelled within her, before extending her hand and unleashing a burst of the black energy before she whipped her sword up, sending a thin blade of ice toward her opponent. She just needed to stall, to let her body catch up with what she was trying to do. But with his Darksoul...Asymptote was likely not going to give her that time.

Battle Post 9
Asymptote crashed into Krystania's sword with a loud, very powerful clang that echoed about the arena they had been fighting in. Panels cracked around them as bits of junk data were blown free from where the impact had hit. Asymptote pushed hard against her sword, but despite all his best attempts, he couldn't move her an inch. But then he saw the ice that she had summoned around her legs...and did even more to push against her. Sweat dripping to the ground as he continued to attack her with all his might, and before long, the ice finally cracked...giving away and finally sending her right into the floor. Asymptote stood on the ground as the aura of darkness gave away, body shuddering and shaking as he breathed heavily.
He stood there she she began to collect herself...but that's when he noticed something...his Dark Soul began to dissipate. The power that welled up in him had begun to recede and ebb away from his body. That was when he realized something: He effed up. The power only lasted so long, and he had wasted his chance to win the fight. Posturing. Acting like he was in control of the fight...of his dark soul...only for his chance to win slip away from him in his ignorance. He cursed himself for such a mistake. Then looked up as Krystania began to attack. The first, a burst of energy. And unfortunately for him, blood began to drip and congeal on the floor before dissipating completely into junk data. Asymptote was hit with the full force of the attack, the navi sliding back a couple inches from the burst of the hit, coughing up a bit more blood data as he saw the second attack headed his way. A blade of ice cutting deep into his shoulder, the navi letting out something akin to a feral roar mixed in with a whimper, sliding down to one knee almost immediately as his hand covered the wound.
Frostbitten and frozen in the area that it had hit, the navi shivered in pain. His blood red eyes turning to Krystania, the navi sighed, turning his palms to her as he got down on his other knee. Nnnnnnhhhh...I...am too tired to continue Krystania...if I go any further I risk deletion. The fight is yours. Asymptote spoke, the crowd almost roaring in applause at the fight's end, the navi brute sighing out as he slumped visibly, barely able to keep himself from falling over and logging out as his regeneration began to work on the wounds that had been inflicted upon him.
(Krystania wins!)

Battle Post: 9 The blade of ice that Krystania had fired had sliced through everything between her and Asymptote, and as it drew closer, she realized too late that the man's Dark Soul seemed to end, and that the attacks were heading toward him with a frightening level of danger that she hadn't expected. It was like hitting a shieldbearer without his shield, and the woman's ice blue eyes opened, and she extended a hand out toward him. "Asymptote!" called, fear in her voice as she watched the attacks cross the distance between them, the woman actually looking away as the blade of ice bit into the man's shoulder, his cry of pain and fear carrying over the arena, and causing the woman to wince slightly at the pure anguish behind it.
As the cry faded, the woman turned to look back at him, noting that he seemed to be on both knees now. The woman frowned, sheathing her blade at her hip as she began to move, the ground freezing beneath each step as she drew closer toward him. Krystania paused a few steps away from him as the roar of the crowd continued around them. "I did not mean to harm you as I did. Were it I could share my body's battle regeneration with you, I would," she said quietly, before she returned his words with a smile. "But I will admit that I did luck out with your Dark Soul fading. I was on my last legs as it was," she said quietly, standing strong despite the fact that she could feel the synthetic muscles in her legs quivering.
"Being able to keep your composure despite such a malefic power. I believe that you are the true winner of this encounter," she said, her smile widening as she gave the kneeling behemoth a deep curtsy, the woman showing humility and honesty, hand-in-hand as she rose, before she extended her hand to the beast, despite the fact that even kneeling, he was very nearly as tall as she. She would help him to stand and then support the monster if he needed it as they made their way from the arena, understanding a bit more about one another than they had before they'd fought. Krystania wasn't sure if the same result would happen, however, now that he knew how she fought. It was a curious thought...but not one she was in any hurry to repeat.

Style: While I liked the consistency in both of your posts, Kbro reads nicely in that feeling of opening a crisp book. It was a good contrast to Kemix's almost campfire-story feeling and even reading it I get the emotion just from his word choice. Given that my brain said each of Kemix's verb and onomatopoeia choices with gusto edges him out. [28 kemix/25 Kbro]
Articulation: Simple, yet refined on both parts. It's a solid 20/20 from me
Balance: It's amazing to me how in-tune to your own characters strengths and durability were with how you role-played them. It really felt neck-and-neck as I read, which is the perfect embodiment of an even match. 20/20 here too!
Length: Overall, the length was good. Any other people would probably find them nice, meaty reads, but it's not about the size of the word count, it's what you do with it. In this regard, I think Kman not only had slightly bigger posts, but used those extra words to really give a good insight on his character and the motions she went through. Kemix, you did an awesome job role-playing your darksoul, but, and this might be a personal issue, but bouncing back to the crowd took me out of things until you brought be back to the amazing action. This would work great in story mode, especially as you're developing your character, I just would rather be either in the fight, or in your thought process during the spectacle, than be reminded I'm with a bunch of other spectators. (9 Kemix/10 Kbro)
Emotion: I know Krystiana is a lot more reserved than Asymptote, and it was much more meticulous in both form and character, and this may be my own bias, but the internal conflict of Asymptote's character, combined with Kemix's stylish use of onomatopoeia really made me feel this hulking goliath every post along the way. (10 Kemix/8 Kman)
tl;dr, I'm keeping the judge points to myself. 0/0
No, it was actually a really great fight, so I'm gonna give you guys a solid 9 points each, for each post you made in this ten-post battle ^_^d
Totals: Kemix: 96 points: Rank A! Kularian: 92: Rank A!
So, even though you could say Krystiana won the battle, it was actually Kemix who role-played on top today. Congrats man! I really respect you willingly ending the fight early to tie in your DarkSoul duration. Tying that together is very nice, and I look forward to other ways you incorporate the game mechanics into your RP! (do your own winnings I hate math!)
