Altair begun immediately summoning sabers and her little pet. It's been a while since she has seen Strife in action, and his aura is much more menacing and sinister than it used to be. As a tactician, she had a feeling which way this fight would go, but she couldn't help but feel to just get it over with.

StrifeMan stood still as Altair came at him, his void reaching out and dragging his skin away to reveal nothing but an ethereal, ghostly presence underneath, her sabers - and even her pet's ice cube - simply passing right through him.
Meanwhile, that sinister feeling that Altair detected, and the power within his very soul began to flow over, and flow abundantly, as the force of his suffering seemed to cause that intense vermillion shade to cascade from the spiraling hole where one's heart should be.
StrifeMan looked at where her saber was piercing through his chest, but, as he was incorporeal, it did not burn him. He traced his decrepit stare up her blade to stare her in the eyes, his own face while, his devilish grin wide and toothy, as he cackled at her. "OAHhahao-haha-ha-hohe! My dearie, you're going to have to try a little harder to entertain me!"

Altair continued to build up her arsenal, summoning more sabers and creating a front blockade to bait Strife in closer. Even if her enemy is formidable, she would at least attempt to cut him limb from limb as she aimed with every other fight.

StrifeMan allowed the scuttle's ice block to connect with him, the cold of the cube feeling nice against his burning skin. However, much as with before, his inner shade peeled back his skin, revealing nothing but the ethereal beneath, making all but the final of her saber strikes pass right through him.
As the final saber struck true, StrifeMan couldn't help but to wince, and, yet, he cackled again all the same. He howled at the Undernet's sky, for all to hear, as his form shifted ever so slightly closer to the beast within.
"It is good that this is your best - your best seems to be able to grow! StrifeMan will delight in his opportunity to perfect your fighting style.
"The Undernet is in potential danger, little girl with the burning swords! What does she have to offer it in form of a defense, a wall to stall, a guardian to ward against all? In the light of a soldier, with a burden to shoulder, lest we all fall?!"
StrifeMan howled his cryptic question, his madness never ceasing, as the wounds he suffered closed, and StrifeMan dashed forward to deliver his own assault.

Altair deflected Strife's first oncoming attack, letting her defenses down slightly. But even when doing this, as the next attack made headway, her sabers came to her protection, stopping the attack.

As the shadow approached to attack, her aura manifested to protect her.
"Tactics."
As Strife aimed to strike with his tail, she faded to his left, making a quick offensive after.
"Experience. I may only wear the clothing of a general, but I take pride in my cunning tactics."

StrifeMan once again allowed the little virus' block to strike against him, his treacherously tortured body hardly noticing the difference as he once again had to but stand still as Altair danced around him, allowing some attacks to land and others his etherealness evaded.
"Don't forget the burning blades! So many of them to consider, and a strong arm she possesses to swing them! Yes, yes, StrifeMan may just have found himself a worthy soldier!"
His raving laughter and ludicrous movements as he danced around her belied a keen eye and attentive study of her tactics, noticing her change of style to force his calamitous senses into choosing more carefully. His ability to sense calamity allowed him to evade danger more efficiently but also forced him into a dangerous corner as she began attacking more carefully. He would have to respond in favor.
StrifeMan considered her barrier and the power it wielded, and knew in his mind that it may take a while to properly destroy it. He rose himself up, a wild aura forming around him as a terrible wind blew forth, the simple winds ripping up gouges in the environment and tearing storms anew in the sky as it stirred. Her sabers, as well as herself, would be forced to deal with the calamity that came with this wind.
With the pulsing winds that tore the battlefield asunder, also came that vermillion shade that StrifeMan channeled around him, time and time again pulsing outward and laying forth terrible curses on Altair if she was not keen to evade them, a terrible, racing shadow of malicious intent that would sap her strength and her fortitude.

She summoned an old warfare machine gun into her hand, and used her saber to play it like a violin. The notes produced were nowhere near that of a violin, however. They were more akin to a black hole vanishing the problems towards it, as she herself kept vanishing and reappearing to strike from different angles, allowing her floating Sabers to cover openings. As his power swept the field, he'd find it odd that on his final attack she simply appeared ahead of him and charged into it, the attack fading through her but still taking damage to get close enough with a direct strike. She lunged forward with her saber as one of her floaters aimed to pierce Strifeman's back of horrors.

As she upped her tempo, so, too, did StrifeMan's attention to the dangers on the field of battle seem to intensify, as his soul's willingness to take in punishment allowed him to absorb much of her assault - he found himself impaled a number of times on her shining, stinging blades - but just as well, he once again continued his ruinous dance, a new, malevolent energy coiling off of his skin that seemed to force all of her attacks just off their mark, as though she couldn't quite land a killing blow on him.
StrifeMan chuckled as his inner light purged out the blinding fog of her performance, as his howls of laughter and gleeful agony suddenly transformed into bestial cries, the crazed one dashing forward with claws extended, on all fours, to flay her with his claws. As before, he channeled a horrific energy around his claws and simply touched her with them, the agony it would inflict truly terrible.
What would perhaps surprise her the most, however, was the sudden change in style and aggression, as StrifeMan doubled back to create some space, and his churning core began to splutter out bits of vermillion energy faster and faster. "The quelling of the winds of calamity befits no one; it only delays the inevitable. One cannot delay calamity forever - even StrifeMan understands this! - one must be able to persevere through it, to outlast the calamity. Only then . . ."
The cresting energy within his core erupted, a blinding sheen of overpowering light that radiated from his very being, scaring away and burning aside all shadow for an instant.

StrifeMan's ruinous dance stopped, his dangerous coiling of form and depravity, as his inner specter seemed to have accept all of the punishment he could convince it to take this waltz. Instead, he stopped in his tracks, dug his heels in, and allowed the array of sabers to stab him, one after the other, piercing through his fortified soul with each strike.
The woman with the swords that burned did not disappoint - but, part way through her attack, StrifeMan's cursed soul seemed to resurge, as a number of his wounds, however fatal they may have been, simply closed up, as he was left standing before her in his more lupine form. Fur sprouted over his body, claws sprouted from previously infernal hands, and uncovered muscles and gashes in his flesh were now covered by curiously red-tinted, matted fur. The new form looked hardly harmed at all, except for that constantly present hole where his heart should be, sputtering and churning all the while.
"Ahehahehahehhhehahahea! Good, good, good, little one! StrifeMan is very impressed - but you must excuse this one's ferocity!" he howled, suddenly, launching forward. "His light does not burn as bright, but his feral nature still howls! Continue to come at me, little soldier, and show StrifeMan those tactics that will defend our home!"
That same, sapping energy roiled off of StrifeMan's body, a sinister, draining shadow that threatened to inscribe upon Altair the same burning runes that StrifeMan carried, as he dashed towards her, tail spinning, to deliver another series of horrific gouges.

Altair simply used Strifeman's crazed charged as an opportunity to strike harder. As soon as Strife came close, she lured him into a similar trap as the one she laid before. Her sabers defended her against the first strike as they dispersed immediately after. She allowed him to strike her once, as she immediately dodged his tail strikes by rounding behind him, and disappeared again. Altair reappeared three times, with a precise vital strike from her saber followed by a flow of strikes from a few of her sabers each time, before she finally reappeared for the fourth time putting a little distance between her and Strifeman. Altair rose her old warfare machine gun and aimed with her main saber across the top, firing an intense pellet towards the maniac of mayhem.
"I may have said that I see few outlooks where I best you in combat, but if you get too comfortable you will lose, crazed one."

He chuckled ruinously as she chided him, standing still and strong as her assault came crashing towards him. She declared that if he weren't careful, if he got too comfortable, he would end up losing.
He saw it differently. If she weren't careful, if she got too comfortable, she would pierce through this soul and find only the curse deep within. "Ahhh, but StrifeMan has never felt more tested! The girl, her blades, she drags him to his limits! This curse, it wanes, but the burning of her blades causes him to sing, haheahhehahahhehehahahea!
"She thinks she can bring StrifeMan to his knees, to have him beg for her to end this fight? StrifeMan begs for her to continue - show him more, show them more, show us all more!"
Her final blades struck home, but, just like before, some unknown force ripped through StrifeMan's core, tearing away the form of the lycan and leaving behind scales of silver and claws like metal, a draconic visage replacing that of the wolf, as his new form charged at her with more vigor than even the last. The sophistication of his attacks at an end, he charged at her with that horrific energy peeling from his claws, as the life that clung to his code seemed to refuse to dissipate, as he went to slash at her time and time again.

She stood still, allowing her will to manifest and simply prevent Strife's wicked tail from making contact. She jumped into Strifeman, attempting to connect her knee to his gut. Following up, she spun backward and slashed her held saber against his chest, before spinning forward and attempting to drop kick him. Altair raised her hand and called her sabers to perform their signature style. A dome of Altair's sabers surrounded the two of them. One by one, a saber flew in at tremendous speed to strike Strife's vitals.
"You still have a dormant power you aren't releasing. If you want to test my potential for real then bring it. Make me calculate, make me dance."
She clenched her fist and all sabers came in at once.

She chided him for his antics, scolded him for his patience, and, still, she shored up her offensive and threw it at him, time and time again those swords piercing through his flesh as it changed forms, hues, states, and sounds in response to the pain.
What she would never understand is that his curse was a malevolent force, a danger to himself as much as it was to everyone else - his true power locked away, hidden from even his own eyes, until the strings of fate bent and pulled in such a way that it was evident that his power was needed. He seemed to dance around as she flung her swords at him, the tides of fate having a different response than before - rather than her blades eerily veering off, or, despite her best attempts at forcing them through, stopping just short, or seemingly going straight through him, the blades flew eerily closer, as his dance seemed to land him in perfect place to be struck by every blade. With each movement, his ruinous cacophony rising to match the beautiful tempo of the blades as they flew. His laughing crescendo and the way he taunted her every thrust with his own intentional waltz directly into it was unlike anything he had felt in such a long time - oh, the feeling to feel alive! With each movement, his claws scraped massive gouges into the floor, impossibly large rifts forming from the simple tap, as though his body was inflicting the ruinous dangers it suffered from upon everything it touched. The very air sizzled with power and fury at his agony, a suffering to great for even the Net to bear, as it was charged with the vermillion energy that wisped around him at all times. It was as though Altair were doing something truly terrible, but truly deserved - someone had to be able to end his suffering, and the way he returned it. Why else would he be cursed so?
As the force of his agony, the strength of his suffering, the agonizing wrath that only he could bear built up, the last of her blades pierced through his body. He leaped into the air, spinning his spaded tail, and somehow got struck by every blade that formed a dome around the pair as they stabbed him into the ground.
Only then did his laughing stop. As he lay, impaled on the ground, his constant wheezing left him. The rise and fall of his chest, staggered and hopelessly pained, slowly drifted away. The way that his shoulders seemed to curl over as though carrying some extreme burden relaxed, and the fires that coursed over his wounds to heal them as quickly as they opened did not light up.
At last, StrifeMan was at peace from his own suffering, and from the suffering that seemed to unerringly find him. For all of his rantings and ravings before, even his ruinous dances that carved through the floor of the Network and that sent those vermillion waves through the air would remind her that he was not a weak Navi. The suffering he bore was truly tremendous . . . had she gone too far?
An uncomfortable moment passed where StrifeMan did not move. In his own mind, he saw the world around him pause, a brief moment's reprieve from his suffering. Finally, where he laid at rest, he was without pain, without misery, without that weight, and without the need to cackle at it as though it did nothing but amuse him.
The world, of course, was too cruel to StrifeMan. His suffering was so grand, his control over calamity so supreme, even as he stared death in the face, there was truly nothing that could cease his agony.
It was the laughing. Some resonant, dissonant, disembodied caterwauling that started off as a whisper and rose steadily until the cacophony of voices was overwhelming, seemingly from all sides and yet focused in on StrifeMan himself, as the dark, vermillion shades within the air, seemingly forced out of his body by her every saber, slowly but surely flooded back into him. In some grotesque display of defying death and gravity, StrifeMan's body was limply picked up off the floor like a limp doll being stretched up by an owner that only just remembered where they had last dropped it. As his arms stretched back out, his face rose to the air, and he adopted the single most human form Altair would have yet seen from him, with the only signs of his usual suffering still being the sigils carved into his bare chest, and the hole where his heart should be.
He was dropped, rather unceremoniously, onto his feet covered by plated greaves. As life filled his creaking bones, the weight that his shoulders carried returned, and all at once that crushing remembrance of just who he was returned to him. His back haunched, his legs bent, and every portion of his body began to morph, his head sprouting hair from its otherwise bald spots to elongate, curl up, spike out, and create a myriad of other designs, as his body was split between any number of forms, dividing up the physical features and sprouting what claws, scales, horns, wings, hair, teeth, skin, liquid shadow, soul essence, and anything else that the particular being represented on that portion of skin needed. What was left was an amalgam of the controlled shattered soul that Altair had seen before, a body split into tenths and shared between equally different physicalities.
"The power . . . the hidden power, you say? Yes, hahehahehahehahea! We suppose, yes, there is a power StrifeMan has yet to show! The power to show, the story to know, what is and what must instead go! The power that we wield, the right to build, a force best held by a guild. . . it is too horrible for any one to know, or show, and yet we to you do yield! We ten share it, a power lest one bear it, and it does not swear it, for still there it is, the feel the reel of the pain from the gain! Our power, unfiltered, is the power over calamity incarnate, to know what could be and what won't be and instead allow what might be to not be and what could not be to be! Come, now, and know the force of the Shattered Soul!"
StrifeMan's power seemed to be rising drastically, his own body cracking and creaking under the force of channeling so much calamity and suffering within his grasp. Each step caused the chasms he already afflicted onto the land to widen, the dark clouds in the sky to roll with thunder, and the suffering that Altair had witnessed thus far to seem as nothing; and his insanity seemed to be rising with it.
All at once, the power within StrifeMan culminated as a swarm of arrows appeared around him, each one a gentle heart wrapped in dark energy, but with hundreds of tiny cracks around the tip of the arrow. In some places, the arrowheads split open to reveal a black, decrepit heart beating underneath the faux one feigning health, and, as each arrow flew, it arced across the battlefield towards Altair carrying a different calamity with it: the sky cracked open with raining hail, lightning, and bolstering winds; the ground split asunder with quakes, rockfalls, and spewing magma; the very air sizzled with intense heat and cold, the absence of any air to breath; her very body shuddered, as even her own systems seemed to fail her.
