*That was strange... had the connection been opened? Even if not, something was calling to him from the first place he could call home. Where he had first learned how to fend for himself and survive in the chaotic world around them. And... well, it was a place of plenty of nostalgia to say the least. Slypner was finally getting closer to his own goal, which had ended rather abruptly thanks to a good old flash of might. As for the relic, well...*
"If I leave it around some moron will try to pick up our trophy again. Rather than leave it as a tombstone, I can keep it around instead. If anyone can get it off of me, more power to them."
*The list of folks that can do that should be relatively small. He had a particularly small list of folks he considered could and smaller still for those that would care to. He could investigate this later, having something else to do first. Whatever this was could be dealt with another time. The darkness rose up around him, beginning to take him within as he made for what was calling out to him now. Though he did address the parting words of his temporary assistant in this second endeavor against Rosso.*
"Don't keep me waiting too long. If you wait too long, an even greater darkness might be around the next time we meet..."
*He had an additional agenda now as well. Plans that he already recalled his colleagues calling him foolish about before. But this time, he was willing to do it. He knew that if they shirked in the face of that possibility that they would never gain the foothold that they desired. So he would shirk no longer. All that was left was being capable enough to claim the victory, one way or another.*
