*The small village of Limmous, a rather quiet place as the people have continued to thrive here. Always in a state of light and dark, dusk and dawn. It lived in a paradox of its own, much like the maker of the failed paradise before it. And while it was a peaceful place with some strange signs here and there, ultimately the only way that peace would be disturbed would be if someone came through with a problem in the area.* *But as it were, he had no problems here yet. Unless he found someone who made themselves one, he would be fine here. He hadn't been followed and everything about his person checked out as normal. That left investigating things that happened even further, starting with the people he figured were at least partially responsible. While it might not have been the NIA who caused all this, he still would investigate them all the same. Starting by finding their headquarters. And if they weren't the ones who started it? Well, he always declared his intentions there. Like it or not, he'd be destroying everything about them soon enough.*
*But for now was meeting up and seeing what he could learn here while he was at it. Then he'd start to carve his path through the Netopian network. If they were smart, they'd make it easier for him by just telling them where he had to go from the beginning.*

...a familiar face?
Off in the shadows of the dusk-enshrouded network, a lone Navi watches the Onyx Overlord making his way through the area. He recognized the crimson cloak in an instant, and had a rush of memories related to it. Though their direct contact had been limited, Genesis had left a fairly large impact on this Navi's mind.
The shadowed Navi wanted nothing more than to reach out and make contact, but finds himself at a loss for words. Previous meetings hadn't always been on the best of terms, and the obvious irritation in Genesis' demeanor made him seem like a brick wall walking down the street utilizing nothing more than its own willpower. But still, he couldn't allow his chance to work things out just pass by.
In fairly typical fashion, the Navi slips deeper into the shadows to help conceal himself. He then reaches out in his own unique way. From the shroud of darkness he speaks in such away that those around him would hear nothing, yet his voice carries as nothing more than a whisper on the wind that only Genesis himself can hear, as if the waves of sound had been focused only to Genesis himself.
Resonance: Is now a bad time to speak with you...?
Resonance made no attempts to mask his voice, knowing that Genesis would likely recognize it. He'd see the response before making any move, allowing the ball to stay in the Onyx Overlord's court.

*It was a voice that he recognized. He had heard it take several different tones over the years. From a rabid beast to an enforcer of the ONB, he and Resonance had various encounters over the years and not a lot of time to just interact with one another. Though he didn't particularly like his set of skills. The stealth aspects like the sound and shadow, as well as his subterfuge weren't the parts that he disliked. Those were things that he was okay with. The part that irked him every time was one of the things unique to Resonance alone, the one that didn't get as much of a showing as his other skills.*
"I just have a lot on my mind, is all. But now isn't a bad time at all."
*He kept his own voice low so that the others nearby wouldn't be alarmed by him suddenly speaking up. He was certain that the sound would carry over to him anyway. It was part of his expertise, after all. Though he was surprised that the older creation of the OEL was in Netopia right now. He would have normally thought him to be in Electopia, though many of the people that he knew Resonance to work with were gone from there now as well. So perhaps this was only a matter of time instead?*

With a nod to himself, Resonance silently walks out from the shadows, stepping into the light and joining Genesis on his walk as if it were the most natural thing that he'd ever done. The Onyx Overlord had never been one for subterfuge or hidden agendas to this degree, so Resonance felt that revealing himself brought only a small risk....
Resonance: You're the first face that I've recognized since things began going south.
Being a Navi hunted for most of his life, Resonance had long since learned how to disappear when the situation called for it, and this was no different.
Resonance: Going to be completely honest, I have no idea what exactly is happening in the world right now. But since you're walking around so freely, is it safe to assume that it's not that bad... yet?

"It's bad enough to make him worry about his life." A heavy yet muffled thumping sound echoed as a pair of three toed feet hopped onto the ground from an elevated position. A set of neon green eyes of reptilian nature locked onto the two navis, accompanied by a scaly hide of deep amethysts. The new arrival had a smug grin plastered on his snout, showing a set of fangs worthy of Jaws Movies. A long tail would wave behind him, slow, almost scraping the ground.
"Well well...look who we have here..." The dragon addressed the couple, walking forward, cautiously approaching. Stopping short of Genesis, Thorn leaned in to getter a good look. "...hm. So you are that famous Genesis guy. I would say that for a guy of your reputation you really are not that imposing. I thought I would see someone twice your side with a full dark knight armor and spikes everywhere. A pleasant surprise no doubt. I like the cape, although porpoise may be a better color. Much more...intense."
He then moved over to the second navi. "Oh. Well... I know a guy who would go nuts if it met you..." he muttered. Something then popped in his mind.
"Ah, excuse the interruption. Couldn't help but notice you two here. For once, losing myself around was a good thing, kinda. My name's Thorn. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Resonance raises an eyebrow at the new-comer, taking a step back as the purple-skinned Navi makes his... off... comments. Resonance instantly feels himself becoming defensive in this situation. He'd gone for so long attempting to hide himself, and at the first moment that he comes into the light, a Navi with more self-confidence than he obviously deserves steps out.
Resonance puts his free hand on his shield and holds its edge tightly as Thorn speaks, finding himself taken aback and backing away from the loud Navi, in typical fashion. His confidence wavers and his stance closes as he shifts his eyes to the side... but then he looks back. He'd just found someone to reach out to, and this Navi wouldn't stand in his way. With a step forward, Resonance looks to thorn with a firm stare and speaks out with a firm, unwavering voice.
Resonance: With due respect, Thorn, I'd rather not excuse the interruption. I'm sure that you mean well, but this is something of a private conversation, and I'd truly appreciate it if you were to leave it as such until it's concluded, thank you.
Respectful as always, Resonance hides his insecurities behind the slate-blue scarf that shrouds his neck and lower face as he cordially requests that Thorn respect his privacy. In this moment he'd all but forgotten that Genesis was even there, as he'd become so focused on the Navi before him and his own agenda in this matter.

*Seeing how naturally he joined in the walk just made the name of Resonance fit a bit better than it already did. He was going to answer, but then he saw what he presumed to be a lizard speak first. Or was it a dinosaur? It didn't have wings or anything so it certainly wasn't a dragon or any of the related sort, so he would have to settle on him being either a lizard or a dinosaur. Plus it would be weird for a dragon to be named Thorn, so he settled on the category. He was a dinosaur. It made sense, as there were records of a certain particular purple one that wasn't very threatening and was used for entertainment, for those that enjoyed watching that anyway. His eyes went to Resonance next, understanding his reaction a fair deal. It only made sense for him to react this way to something like this, his eyes going back up to Thorn.*
"It does not matter if I look intense or imposing. Others can make of me as they will, the facts remain the same. For another, I do not recall being worried about my life for even a single moment."
*Genesis' own voice was calm and he didn't have his guard up at all either around the new face. There were plenty out there who went out of their way to look intimidating or to try and appear as more than they were. That wouldn't change the facts behind the matter, same as it was with himself. Whether he looked the part or not didn't change the fact of what he was capable of. He also hadn't been concerned for his own well-being at all here. The situation personally didn't change anything for him, all it did was make his enemies more worried if nothing else. The fabled 'throw numbers until it worked' tactic fell flat in these circumstances. He never cared for that much because the numbers never mattered, so all it really became in the end was time saved from going through the process. He could explain the full situation to Resonance once he calmed down, which ultimately depended on Thorn himself.*

"Well I appreciate the self confidence you have there." Thorn muttered at the Onyx overlord, before noticing the defensive approach of the other navi. "Hm? Well someone is concerned about their well being at least. He may be smarter than both of us, really."
He would listen to Resonance's words and give him a small nod. "Oh well, I did not know my casual intrusion interrupted such important talk. Please, feel free to resume it. I'll await my turn to play twenty questions with Genesis. You may lower your weapons too. I am not here to fight. Considering how the situation is, it's not a wise choice."
The purple dragon stepped aside and waved with his hands in the typical "ladies first" pose, signaling the two to carry on their walk and talk without him interrupting anymore.

Resonance shakes his head at the purple reptilian Navi, ignoring the motion and continuing to move on. However, at this point he resumes speaking in such a way that only Genesis would hear.
Resonance: ...I'm sorry, this entire situation has me a bit on edge. I can't help but feel like I'm being followed at this point, and that's a feeling that I've never relished. Anyway; while we honestly haven't had much time to talk in the past, I know you well enough to know that you aren't just standing around while things go south again, and really I just want to offer my help in anything that you may need.
Resonance now seemed visibly bothered, with his self confidence now drained to a more natural level. Despite all that he'd accomplished in the past, he couldn't help but default back to his true self-views when the situation becomes tougher. Still, he'd give his all to help make things right again if the call came.

*It was a bit of self-confidence and the facts of the matter, really. But he imagined not a lot of people would exactly understand his mentality or even agree with it, so that was fine too. Another aspect of life that he was used to. He moved on with Resonance, listening intently still. Resonance had a lot of his own troubles in his life, so having a stalker certainly wasn't something he ever wanted in his life. Especially not with what happened with him.*
"For starters, you could do with being a bit more...'up' on yourself instead of down on yourself. I know that I do not have much room to talk in that regard, though."
*He got hit enough by Embera because of his way of being. And he had gotten better, but could still be a bit of a downer. Just not as much of one as he used to be at all times of the day. And reminded him of the time she said he was like the picture of what an 'edgelord' would look like in both personality and appearance. She was such a kid sometimes though, so she got a pass.*
"You know I am not the shining example of heroism, either. While things are going south, again at that, I still need to stay my course. While there is no confirmation that the NIA is behind this, left alone they will just end up more trouble than they are worth. So I intend to get to the source behind one of the worst situations we have faced and also demolish the present regime. The NIA and their policing methods are just the first in line. In a bit of irony, this situation works in my favor."
*He wasn't what he imagined people thought of a hero to be. They were usually people who helped out others and saved the needy, reactive people in the time of need. He was reactive in that he only needed to react once someone made a decision that ran against his morals. The ONB wanted things to return to how they used to be, which was a poor decision because all of that past led to people like himself and Resonance. The NIA wanted to take some of their freedom, police and remove those who were too powerful. Much of that was faults of their own, especially the ones that they claimed were the biggest problems. And the Knights looked away from their own faults in situations, so while he might not have to entirely dismantle them, they were still on the list.*
"...But you're used to me fighting against the regime at this point, aren't you?"
*After all, he and Resonance had to butt heads because of that too. The terrorist against the enforcer. Especially at Saul Kada did things get pretty hectic, no thanks to his own annoyance during that battle. While he was usually calm he had his buttons to press too.*
"If you are willing, I will not say no. I know your capabilities somewhat well at least. Just that you might end up with a lot of enemies this time. We would have to go through anyone who wants to assist them as well, though none of them are really that relevant that I know of."

Resonance remains silent as Genesis speaks, considering all that he has to say as he does so. Much of what was being said he'd long considered himself, and much of it was what he'd long since worked out for himself.
Resonance: I've been around a long time, Genesis. I was originally made just a few years after the famed Cyberbeast incident, and in that time I've met many Navis from the terrible to the wonderful. At this point I don't put stock in the concept of the "shining hero". We share more in common with humans than some of us care to admit for one simple reason; none of us are perfect.
Thinking back, Resonance remembered many of the "shining hero" types from ages past... Zero, Suki, Turbine, Phenoix. No matter how good or wonderful they may or may not have been, they all had their own flaws and issues.
Resonance: I don't believe in "a" Navi, not even myself. What I do believe in is an ideal, and right now you're standing for that ideal, which is why I can believe in you. We both know what happens when a group becomes too powerful and starts to act tyrannically towards the populace. That's why I left the ONB years ago and moved here. But now it's gotten too far out of hand, and I have a sick feeling that something bad is about to come of it. I can't just sit around, but I also know that I'm only so useful myself. That's why, regardless of consequence, I want to help take things back.
Resonance's continence is serious and stoic. He'd lost everyone that he cared about in the conflicts of recent years, and hadn't found more than fleeting peace since the entire registration ordeal began. He'd lived silently with the pain for so long that now all that he wanted to do was open that scar and let it heal... for better or worse.

*Resonance was certainly one of the oldest navis around. Though he wasn't the youngest fellow by far either, he wasn't as old as Resonance himself was. And Resonance ended up seeing a lot of things because of that age. The comings and goings of many individuals, more than he himself had. Both had to say their share of farewells, some permanently, others not. They hurt all the same, but perhaps the ones that stuck in his mind the most were the ones caused by the Eternal Endgame. It was around this time that they both had to say farewell to their families, one all of them instead of most of them. And while he hated to admit it, it wasn't wrong to say that they were close to humans. Because that was what caused Creamland to be a target for him as well, because they ignored their own faults rather than embrace them, even if they brought up the banner of independence. He had said so himself before that he also didn't believe in heroes, but it had fallen on deaf ears then. So he was glad that Resonance was receptive of that fact too.*
"Then we are on the same page. I cannot afford to be as lax with my approach as I used to be. The ones who will know something are likely their higher agents. To drag them out, they need a suitable threat to respond to. If I could find their facilities that would be fine, but as it stands I have no knowledge of where they are. Which means to draw them out to at least find out if they are behind this, either I strike their bases or I strike what they supposedly protect."
*It was one extreme or another to take, as they would likely not stick their necks out readily right now. So they would either have to abandon all of their bases until he eventually reached an important one deeper in Netopia. Or they would have to sacrifice their public image for their own safety. And tyrants would refuse to do the latter, so they would have to respond to him once he began. His goal was one of two of their members that he knew likely had information: the one that monitored everything or the one that showed up alongside Vanguard at the border. He needed to find either of them and get them to answer his questions. And he had just the thing to do that...*
"But if they refuse to respond even to that, I do have another idea in mind. Some idle chatter from some others put the idea in my head and it would at least match up with something else I saw recently, just a little. Calling it a stretch is an understatement if we have to pursue this route."

At least there was some form of a plan in the works. Resonance begins reviewing the situation and considers the most obvious answers first, but still chooses to share them with Genesis regardless.
Resonance: The obvious places in Netopia for a group like this would be the Netopian castle network or Rammount. Even if they're not the main base, it seems likely that at least one of them would be held as a stronghold if only for the public eye. And in the case of the main castle network, it is the major government hub for Netopia, so it stands to reason that they would have information on the forces and where their base is, or possibly what their agenda is. The one issue with it is the fact that the castle is sure to be heavily guarded, especially in this political climate, and any attempts to hit it will likely be responded to with great force.
The more that he thought, the more that Resonance was feeling assured that the castle network would be the best first step in this fight. However, even with Genesis' raw force and power, would it be enough to take what was needed?

*Genesis nodded in agreement. If there was any place that made sense to go for first, Rammount and the castle network were at the top of the list. It was the best place to keep up a public showing and close enough for the public to interact with it. The area itself also served as a natural defensive grounds for an attack staged on it, but that was absolutely perfect in his eyes. If they struck out at a place like that, especially as their first target, it would bring the attention he wanted without a doubt even if it wasn't the place he was looking for first.*
"The castle would stand as the best target then. We want them to respond with as much force as they can muster and to also gather the information we want. We can strike both objectives at once this way and might even be quite the challenge this time. But most things worth doing are."
*Netopia as a whole wouldn't take this sort of thing lying down. Which meant that he would get exactly what he wanted with this approach. All it came down to after that was possessing the necessary force to make certain that success was their only outcome as well. He didn't have any doubts in his own strength when compared to their own, but overconfidence was the downfall of many, so it was better safe than sorry. Their working force was at least three people strong now, each in their own respects. But just in case he would ask if the shadowy navi had some additional power to bring to the table. There was at least one factor for the NIA that he couldn't account for, seeing as he couldn't get a read on the guy.*
"I already called up all my own assets for this and one of them are already in play. Do you have anyone you know that would be willing to see this fight through as well, Resonance?"

Resonance stops for a moment and glances skyward in thought. He'd become something of a hermit for the past year or so, and had fairly well given up on any connections. By this point he simply didn't have the will to try and continue making connections, which was now starting to bite him in the back in a moment of need. However, he does remember one Navi who might be able to help.
Resonance: Yes, I do know one Navi... but I'll have to lay out what he'd be risking by making this move. Though knowing him, he won't care.
Resonance pulls up a screen and begins typing as he continues, still deep in thought.
Resonance: So what's the first move, and how soon do we make it?
The devil's in the details, as they say, and Resonance wanted to make sure that he knew all of the details moving forward. A lack of communication would likely be the way that the situation falls apart, so keeping things clear and open would likely lead to success... at least in theory. Resonance finishes typing up his e-mail and sends it along, glancing skyward as he does so. This would be the only bit of support that he could muster, so it had better be worth it....
