Approaching at a rapid pace, a challenger raced from over the horizon, kicking up dust in his wake as he sped forward.
"Today's a good day to train! If I don't act faster I'll wind up in the slow lane..." he said to himself, verbalizing his thoughts.
'And that would be UNACCEPTABLE!!
With a greater burst of speed, Revved accelerated, in search of someone to spar with in the current area.
Noticing someone up ahead, Revved skidded to a halt, careful to not shower the person in dust.
"Hello there! I presume you're here for some sort of training too...shall we begin this fast-paced battle? Revved spoke, fired up for this encounter.

The rumbling that was indicative of incredibly fast movement had reached Crescendo's ears, the man's sensitive senses being able to tell what was happening, though he could see nothing. He turned his head in the sound's direction, waiting, able to see without seeing as the multitudes of sound waves that echoed from his target built up an image of someone approaching quickly, running at incredibly fast speeds. Then the speed somehow increased, and Crescendo gave a small sound of marvel before the runner seemed to notice the blind Navi's presence as the sound began to grow greater, the other Navi sprinting forward toward him. He came to a literal skidding halt, and Crescendo did not move, still as a stone as the dust billowed around him from Revved's slowing. "Training? I suppose one could call it that, yes. Merely an application and test of my abilities. I feel you would be a suitable opponent."He knew of such a thing in the real world known as the Sound Barrier...he merely hoped that such a thing did not exist here- his programming did not inform him one way or the other, but he would certainly find out!

"Same to you!" Revved said in response to crescendo's statement. Only time would tell how good of a match-up this truly was... As his opponent made his first move, Revved said something almost...uncharacteristic - he stood still. The cause of his behavior was made evident to even the most untrained eye as the two sound-based attacks slammed against his Barrier. "Hmm...interesting technique there." Revved said aloud. He hadn't faced many wielders of sound just yet...but it seemed like an interesting choice. As the third burst of sonic energy erupted toward him like a cannon of sorts, Revved jumped to the side of it, nimbly avoiding the attack. "Alright then! Now that you've had your turn, how about a change of scenery?" Revved spoke, brandishing a checkered orb in the palm of his hand. In an instant the orb shattered into numerous pieces and the area was filled with a brief, yet very bright, light. The smell of a freshly paved road permeated the area, complete with floating traffic lights that seemed quite futuristic. "Welcome to the Marathon Stage, stranger!" Revved announced, as a wisp of green energy hovered over to him. Reaching out and touching it, he received a bit of energy, adding to his power just enough to make a difference. Then, utilizing some of his displayed energy from before, Revved's systems brimmed with speed. It was as if his body experienced a small adrenaline rush! Holding out one hand, REvved called forth a small, blue ball, with a green band around it. Pulling back, Revved then pitched the explosive at Crescendo. Not waiting for his opponent's reaction, Revved stayed on the move! Through whatever smoke resulted from the explosion, Revved sent a red shockwave of electrical energy across the field with the mere thrust of his palm. Sidestepping from his previously held position, Revved's right hand took the form of a red buster. Humming with a low sound, Revved released the burst of energy at his opponent,from the side. Finally, he then materialized a white orb in his hands and threw it skyward. Pushing off from the ground, Revved shot off after it, spinning in mid-air before he kicked the orb at Crescendo, sending it barreling toward him like a cannonball. ================= Defensive phase:

Crescendo's flat-line expression took on a slight frown of distaste as he noted that his attempts to find his foe had turned out to be entirely...wasted. It was interesting to note that there was an odd interference around Revved, like some form of strange frequency that was canceling out his own sound-based attacks. "How...curious," he mused as they fell apart around his target, leaving Crescendo with less of an idea where Revved was than he even had before. Then the man spoke, and Crescendo's gaze flickered over to him. Or rather, what passed for his gaze, hidden behind his blindfold. "It is all that I have," the sound-based Navi admitted, his entire manner of being wrapped around the fact that he had nothing more than sound available to See the world around him. The man's words gave him some level of capacity to understand where he was...but he still didn't have enough information to really see the world around him. As Revved then asked for a change of scenery, Crescendo's response was flat. "I cannot see it as it is now- I would not be bothered by-" he began, but it seemed that Revved was already well on his way to changing things, as the scent of asphalt reached his senses, and he frowned, glancing around. What world that had been around seemed to have...changed, somehow. "How...curious," he spoke again, looking about as he heard the welcome from Revved. As his sensory input gave him information on the world around him, he noted a small, scintillating sphere and, drawn like a moth to a flame, he extended a hand toward it feeling...something new. Something different. However, he seemed to realized that Revved was about to attack, and he gave a small sound, readying himself. Layers of sound began to dampen around him, as the small sphere approached, unknown to him. However, as it struck, and an explosion rocked the area around him, the sound that it gave off was more than enough to give Crescendo a view of the world around him. "I See," he said softly, now able to see the opponent and his attacks. As the other unleashed the rush of energy, Crescendo could See it. Waving a hand, a burst of auditory sound, like a dull bass beat, burst from him, canceling the attack. A buster shot came next, but with his ability to See, Crescendo moved, deftly avoiding it as if he'd seen it coming for ages before the final attack echoed down. He gave a noise then as he lifted his arm, the sound becoming dense around his forearm as the ball slammed into the makeshift shield. Then there was nothing. Peace and quiet. Silence. From the smoke that remained, Crescendo extended both of his hands, letting loose another concrated blast of sound, the rush of it speeding toward Revved. As soon as he finished, he lifted a foot and slammed it down, sending out a veritable shock wave of sound around him, aiming to bring information back to the sound-based Navi. He just hoped he could See something more...

Watching his opponent closely, Revved could tell this person was unique in a way... Crossing his arms in front of him as the burst of sound slammed into his barrier, Revved suspecting something about the navi, that he hadn't encountered for himself yet... Gripping his helmet as the sonar waves engulfed him, Revved also realized he probably wouldn't be able to keep dodging this guy now. 'This guy hasn't made any actual movements yet...and that blindfold seems to be more than a decoration...' Revved thought to himself, sizing up his opponent...and piecing together a brief detail he hadn't fully grasped yet. 'Well, that's quite interesting,fighting without one's vision...he doesn't seem hindered by the lack of sight either.' Either Revved was over-analyzing Crescendo or not, he felt as if the navi's abilities were something for him to keep a note of...and he felt impressed that an opponent could put up such a fight like so. 'Somehow...this makes me wanna go even further...! If he can break through such limits, then I feel compelled to go all out too!' "Alright! Here I come! Rev exclaimed, with energy radiating from his body upon command. He also began building up energy for a future assault, causing the ground to tremble ever so slightly. Giving off a white glow as energy surged within him even more, Revved dashed toward Crescendo, throwing a punch at him once he was close enough. Backing off for but a moment, Revved collected a green ball of energy in his right hand and released a stream of energy across the field. And then, closing the gap once more, Revved engaged Crescendo once more in a rapid succession of karate-esque strikes and jabs. ============= Defensive phase:

Crescendo could See, now. With his Sonar, the world around him had begun to become revealed to him in a slow, ponderous way. He could See the various bits and pieces of it, the asphalt, the trees in the distance, and of course, he could See Revved. The man was built for speed- his appearance alone would have given Crescendo that understanding if he hadn't already realized that from the way that the speedster fought. He was difficult to keep up with- and it was only through Crescendo's own natural talents that he was able to keep pace. Still, he didn't really have much that he could offer against him. If the man kept up his speed, Crescendo would fall behind- he had to end this soon before the racer left him in the dust. He had been pondering this when Revved called out his intent to attack, leading Crescendo to pause, looking his way. Was he really...making it known to Crescendo that an assault would begin? How...curious. What became even more curious to him was the fact that the man's body began to tremble, giving off subtle sound waves that Crescendo could See, now that his sound energy vibrated within the fellow. Then he was there, coming at him with a quick strike that Crescendo had no chance to avoid. He reeled backward as the strike hit his jawline, before Revved moved back, then. That small window gave Crescendo enough time to See the attack coming, and he shifted to the side, narrowly avoiding it and then, as Revved came forward again, he managed to use his momentum to avoid the attack. The followup strike caught him, but he used the blow to hurtle himself back, leaving bits and pieces of his energy within Revved as he did so. "It is...uh. My turn." He felt odd announcing it, but he felt that it was fair, at least, to return the exchange. And then, something strange would happen, at least to Revved's eyes. A burst of energy came from Crescendo and a second one, seemingly forged of sound, appeared where the other had been a few moments ago. The sound between the two became deafening as both he and his past self unleashed waves of sonic energy at Revved, the attacks seeming to build off one another. He would also notice that the attacks themselves were more potent and accurate than they'd been prior.

((Yeah. Echo has lower HP and can't intercept in exchange for doing full base damage, or at least that's how Warrior explained it to me initially. Unless I misunderstood :V))

(OOC: Feels like there be lots of unwritten rules coming to the forefront these days...) ============ Proud to say he was at least making more progressive strikes here & there, Revved watched as Crescendo took some of his strikes...voluntarily? He wasn't fully sure. But he was sure that he'd have to keep his speed going strong to maintain his edge... As a second Crescendo entered the fray, Rev watched carefully as they seemed to attack in-sync. Not one to be caught so easily, Revved kicked off from current spot, leaving after-bursts in the air as he accelerated away from the initial strike. Unfortunately for himself, Rev had somehow become visible to his opponent or slower...and he was absolutely positive it wasn't the latter. Being struck by Crescendo seemed to alert him to the path this battle was about to take...and it wasn't looking too good if left as it currently was... As the clone took its shot at him, Revved kicked it into high-gear once more,out-speeding the assault. They'd have to try a bit harder to catch him. Activating some chipdata, Revved got a lock onto both of his current opponents, equipping a sword chip afterwards. "Time to cut to the chase!" he exclaimed, leaping forward and slashing at Crescendo, following up with a quick swipe at the Echo as well. He then shifted his weight and threw a vertical swipe at the sound-wielder, proceeding to bring the sword down on him immediately afterwards. ============ Defensive phase:

Crescendo was running out of steam. Having been forced to fight at Revved's pace was exhausting for the sound Navi. His understanding of the area around him was surely helping him, bit by bit, but in the grand scheme of things, he was too far behind. The tempo at which he was moving couldn't hope to match up to Rev, and he was finding that the rhythm of his attacks was starting to break apart. His movements were still precise and near-perfect, but the fact that even now, Revved was able to avoid them was a sign to him that there was simply a disparity in their abilities, something that he could not hope to overcome, at least not right now. Of course, that did not mean he had given up- Crescendo was not the sort of navi that let things go. After all, as his name implied, the longer the fight would go on, the stronger he would become. The crescendo had been building so far, he just needed to get to the finale and he might still have a chance. But even then, it was going to be extremely difficult to get to that point. Revved's speed put him on a completely different level. However, his thoughts were cut short by Rev's announcement, and Crescendo saw the blade that had appeared on the man's wrist. His own body, with its built in sonic armor, had some resistance to that which cut, and so rather than spend his energy on moving to avoid those attacks, he instead hardened the sound that surrounded him, providing a sort of shell. Each strike that Revved launched against him gave off a small 'gong' like sound, every hit causing the Resonance within the speedster to make him stand out all the more to him. "We are approaching the final measure," the navi spoke, with the sound still building around him. "Let us see where it takes us."WIth that, Crescendo raised his hands, noting that he no longer sensed the presence of his Echo, and, with a small sound of disappointment, began to follow Revved's movements with his Sight. He could see where he might go, where he might dodge, and unleashed a pair of blasts, one after the other, the sonic energy rippling through them as the pair aimed themselves directly for his opponent.

Satisfied that at least part of his plan worked, Revved paid attention as Crescendo seemed to ward off his attacks a bit...yet they still made contact... Whatever was going on, Revved was sure he wouldn't benefit from it. That meant he'd have to act immediately! Taking his opponent's hits, Revved remained focused, poised to get in there and seal the deal. Earlier on in the battle, he had been curious to know what this navi's abilities were. But now he had grasped somewhat of an understanding of them now. Regardless, Revved agreed with Crescendo. This battle indeed was coming to an end and only one victor would be made known in the near future. Racing toward Crescendo, Revved threw another martial arts-like punch at him, darting to the right prior to him throwing a white orb at his target. Dashing toward his opponent from behind the orb, Rev was prepared to land a jab right after the orb was dealt with or hit its mark. And then something different happened, a wisp of energy departed from Rev and shot toward the sonic-navi, built for bypassing the defense of stationary opponents. =============== Defensive phase:

While Crescendo could really begin to See Revved, part of the problem remained that he simply wasn't going to be able to keep up with the furious pace that the other was setting. He wanted to try to push himself further, but his body wasn't meant to move- it was meant to sit and conduct, composing musics and melodies for the world to listen to. That had been his conception and he'd modified that to being able to combat with the viruses that threatened his NetOP's PET and Computer, but even then...this Revved was just moving too quickly for his song to keep up with.
The sudden onslaught from Revved caught Crescendo a touch offguard. He knew what was coming, and even then, he just didn't have the speed to keep up with him. He condensed the sound around his arm, using it to block several of the strikes, before one got through, and as his systems were all-but gone, he could feel that last blow putting the final note on the song that had been this battle.
"A...well-fought fight," Crescendo spoke, his voice coming in a little static'd as his data began to break down a little from the loss. "Your tempo is commendable. I do hope we meet again," he offered, before his data broke down further, leaving nothing but a gentle song as he disappeared from view.

"Indeed it was. Rev agreed, even though Cres was no longer there.
Opening a window briefly, Rev tapped on a screen and pressed 'Ok', sending a gift to his well-fought opponent.
Taking his opponent's fighting style into consideration, Rev was positive he'd benefit from it.

Remaining in the air from where Crescendo's body had been was a small vibrant sphere, which was giving out a low, methodical hum that Revved could potentially benefit from, should he find himself in such a situation.
