“Oh! E-excuse me, miss!”
Awakened from past's realms, the Maiden's face whipped around to meet that of a young man, mixed with fear and shock. Long, lilac hair framed his face nicely with distinct porcelain features. She tried to give him a reassuring smile. It was the least she could give for his kindness.
He... He needs help...
Further inspection would give way to a shock-ridden self with some noticeable bruises forming. With a noticeable cut or two across his body and ripped clothing, Phoebe shyly approached him with a hand above his head slightly. Trying to detect injury or sickness in the young man, she met his eyes with soft sincerity.
“Are you okay? Are you…from the school, too?"
Confused, the Maiden tilted her head to the side, shaking her head while doing so. Not fully understanding the statement until the horrific news streamed across the TV behind the young man. Innocent lives, both humans and navis, endangered from all fronts. She could not bare to look more. A lone tear fell from her face in such pain. The suffering of others. Yet, moment's earlier she was consumed with her own. How dare she!
She looked at the young man. Broken. Shattered. She could not help them, but... She could help him. Placing a gentle hand on the wall, Phoebe was scanning for anything that could be useful in these dire circumstances. A delightful cry from soft lips gave way to an opening panel. Opening to revealed an Emergency First Aid Kit to be used in such times. Beckoning him to it, hoping it would be of some use.

“Was that the wrong question?”
Typical. Typical, Xen-kun!
Of course, he was ignorant of little Rosetta being in this facility or even anyone that knew him, he knew himself enough to know when he was being that typical ignorant boy! He did not understand her sudden straying expression, no more than the next person who ran by and through the doors going to the combined school. No doubt were they charging into the fray to go and protect the lives that were in danger. He was not an official, or anything close to it!
But that was typical of Xenneth…
His sour, pitiful expression for himself faded as he looked to Phoebe’s gestures. She was a silent maiden, but that made her all the more alluring. He was not one for talking to the opposite sex, but for some reason her presence did not register as such. He was ignorant to why her perfected form was so flawless! Even now, he just felt he was fortunate that such a young woman like her shown enough concern, via that white box with the symbolical red cross upon the wall. His lips pursed looking to his own body. He did not even notice his arm bruised from his own clumsiness.
Then again, should he? It was not like he was that close to the incident.
“I-I…I’m fine.” becoming more convincing as life returned to his voice, “I-I’m like this e-everyday. I-I mean…I am not exactly good at…walking?”
How did that work?
Cursing himself about his chronic clumsiness, he tried to say something else to not give her attention to his blundering statement. Anything to make him sound less pathetic! So, he breathed an awkward sigh before walking towards the wall with the kit upon it. Even more close was the bench that was partial net material framed against an actual seat. It was most likely used as an illusion for NetNavis to sit with their Net Operators. It made him miss Megami, but certainly sitting with the company of another was not so bad, right?
At least he could say he was helping someone.
“U-umm…y-you should have a seat…” hesitantly he suggested with burning, rosy red cheeks, “I-It’s just…you don’t look well. Is it pollen? I’m from Green Town and that can be bad for allergies…or anyone who isn’t good with flowers and nature. Then again, the city is not for everyone either…not that you are from either…but…”
What was he saying? Wouldn’t asking her where she was from would be easier? For Xenneth, it wasn’t…
“I-I mean…gomen…I’m talking to much. I’m…Xenneth…”

She gave the lilac-haired boy a bright smile. A genuine smile. Something rare, but she was so grateful to give him. He ignored all physical scars and flaws just to talk to her.
“I-I…I’m fine. I-I’m like this e-everyday. I-I mean…I am not exactly good at…walking?”
Nodding softly in response for negative judgement was not part of her character. The Maiden, pleased there were no serious injuries and difficulties in operating, clapped her petite hands together. No doubt, the horrific situation was ever present in her mind. But, this was a small victory to be celebrated. She helped a life, and she was happy.
“U-umm…y-you should have a seat…”
The Maiden struck from her thoughts once more, turned to the young man noticing sudden pigment of colour to the young boy's cheek. Worry creased her forehead as her hand flew to her lips, gasping.
“I-It’s just…you don’t look well. Is it pollen? I’m from Green Town and that can be bad for allergies…or anyone who isn’t good with flowers and nature. Then again, the city is not for everyone either…not that you are from either…but…”
Repeatedly pointing to one of the twins seats fervently, panicking from so much worry for him that something was wrong... Something Phoebe had not detected. He needed to sit down, quickly! Gracefully, the Maiden sat down in the chair that would support her, hoping he would follow suit. It would help with his heart-rate and care that he would need.
“I-I mean…gomen…I’m talking to much. I’m…Xenneth…”
Amethyst eyes greeting the lilac-haired man. Would she... Did she dare speak? One word... It was all she could afford, but for this young man, she would risk it. After all, he had been so kind. The least she could do was be kind in return. Whispered softly, almost inaudible, the reply was given.
"Ph... Phoebe..."

In a room in the opposite wing in the labs, a pair of navi's were in a medical room. His head was pounding. He felt as if his mind was foggy. Where was he? What happened? And why was he strapped to a bed?
"You are awake! Let me get those for you."
The female navi in the room stood from her chair. She walked over, and started undoing the clasps on the straps to the bed. First, the neck. One arm free, then the other. Then a leg free, and then the navi on the bed was freed.
"What happened? how long was I out? I don't remember anything..."
"You lost control. As soon as you started going crazy, they sedated you before you completely lost it. I don't know what kind of data they got on you. The doctor said to call him when you awoke. You have been out a while."
The male navi groaned. He slowly sat up. He looked up and noticed that the hospital on the human side had been attacked.
"Don't worry, its not here, nor because of you. How are you feeling?'
Her soft voice was quiet. Young, free, and an air of wonderful melody the female navi spoke with. She was concerned, but there wasn't she could do. But she was there, and she tried. The male navi sat up. His mismatched eyes looked over at her. She was short, bearly reaching 5 feet tall. Her long pink hear stretched down to her knees, was tied back by a and emerald encrusted hairband. It matched her emerald eyes. She wore a matching emerald broach around her neck. She was in medical attire with the cross over her heart and everything. He chuckled.
"What's so funny?'
"You, wearing that.... I would have never imagined you looking like that."
She reddened in the face.
"Well... It was the only way they would let me stay in here with you, Merrill. "
Merrill gave in, and nodded. He stood up slowly.
"Then lets go talk to a doctor."
Xylia stood, walked over and held open the door. Merrill walked forward, grabbing his cloak and fastening it on as he exited, followed by Xylia, who already fastened her jacket over the nurses uniform. They walked side by side, Merrill's regenerative powers clearing his mind and healing his body up. They headed down a hallway marked "Data Center"

“Phoebe…”
Maybe he was the only one who thought it was a beautiful first name.
Not many people would spend countless hours wondering about names from ancient Greek texts that talked about natural phenomenon. Xenneth certainly was not one of those “many people” at all. He had taken an interest in ancient Gods and Goddess ranging from western culture to eastern – Gigamerica to Choina – from the early birth to late death of the Gods. Phoebe was one of the names he found that was somewhere under “Megami.” Just hearing it made it feel like it was one of those strange Sci-Fi moments where someone thought it was destiny to meet another person.
He was a little tired of destiny lately.
“It’s-” he had sat down while sweeping a finger to trail his violet, feather locks back into place, “I-It’s…a lovely name.”
He meant this and sold it with an earnest smile.
Just looking at her well-adorned clothing and beautiful amethyst orbs were enough to get lost in twice over. He had given himself a silent applause in his mind realizing that this was one of the few times that he was not alarmed that he was in the presence of a female, and followed suit by breaking eye contact before he messed up his flawless streak. With his cheeks burning red and his face going to those tiles, all forty nine of the-….wait…
No! Don’t wait! He was supposed to be trying to cheer her up, right?
He could think of a hundred reasons why. Her outfit was so refined and so beautiful that it reminded him of an aristocrat. It was like the kind you would see coming from beautiful feudal Choina. They had a thing for the exotic and beautiful, and her outfit reminded him of those stories about butterflies that would gently flutter about. Their wings were comparable to the young maiden’s voice, causing for Xenneth to give a delicate approach as he pat his knee nervously before he spoke.
“I-I’m sure…we will be okay, Phoebe.” his lips pursing as he looked at the display of the few hand full of individuals at school that seemed to be aiding the crowd, “I think...those kids will be safe. My friends are there and they’re…pretty strong.”
He was not sure what was alarming as he smiled warmly to the girl: that he blindly believed in some strangers he recently met or that he called them “friends.” Either way, he sat in the waiting area of the data center, awaiting to see if the young woman felt better with whatever little help he offered

...Xenneth...
She would give him a hug if she could, but alas the Maiden would phase right through him. He was, is, so kind to her. Giving of his time and energy just to see her happy and safe. Panic melted from her eyes, glistening with joy rarely ever felt with her rosy pink lips growing into an upward crescent moon. He was of a soothing nature, never threatening or overpowering with his ocean deep eyes. There must be something she could do in return to such an earnest soul. The Lady wished to return the favour. But in what way?
Wait! Here, the worlds of digital and physical were blurred into one! And it would be here, the favour would be returned.
I hope he does not mind...
Reaching behind the young man's head ever so carefully, Phoebe snapped her pale fingers together defiantly. As if by magic, beautiful butterflies shimmering emerald and sapphire, flew by Xenneth in a hurried rush littering the Front Desk. Leaping with grace, the Maiden twisted and twirled, gliding across the floor. One landed on an innocent child, another on a worried mother. One swirled around the injured, a few around Xenneth's friends. Some welcomed the outside, others instinctively remained behind, as if knowing they were needed.
Phoebe finished her song-less dance with shy abruptness, before returning to her seat, embarrassed with such a performance. Her cheeks flushed with colour, shyly looking at the young man before her.
One butterfly, smaller than the rest, landed on the Maiden's moon touched skin for a moment or so. Phoebe's heart calmed at the simple sight before it flew to greet the young boy's knee. The Lady's eyes conveyed a calm joy, yet a hint of shyness.

The cloaked navi showed his badge to the guards, and they let him in. He quickly snatched a lab coat off the wall and put it on over his current cloak, while confidently strolling past other navis in the area. He turned left and headed down one hallway. Upon reaching the registrar desk, politely questioned the navi sitting there.
[????]: Which way to the Data center? I'd like to inquire about some data...
The female navi's eyes never left her screen.
"Down the hall, across from where the crossworld datascape rooms are."
He walked away quickly. He headed up the hallway,Noting the technological advancement. He had to admit he was surprised. Watching humans and navi's interact with eachother fascinated him, although he didn't have the time to sit and study like he would have wanted. He passed by a violet haired kid with a very adorned looking Female navi with him, and suddenlym his mind started taking note of everyone and everything around him. Where they sat, where they were angled, what they wore. He became focused as he walked. Then he saw someone that made him stop in his tracks.
The boy he fought before was here, walking down towards the same hallway he was headed! He stopped, cocked his head to the side, and just watched for a moment, deciding on his next move...

He could not fathom how she knew he loved magic tricks, but he was glad she did.
The display was enough to replace the worry with wonder, and it was not just from within him. The atmosphere was somewhat different just from presenting the plentiful display. Nearby children hugging their older sisters and brothers were less concerned about open wounds, and the mildly injured were smiling if even for a moment at how something as simple as a glistening butterfly could lift their spirits. As for the ones who were frowning after seeing the motionless bodies of their loved ones on the screen-
…Well, perhaps some lord would help them find peace.
Still, it was the little things that had given the young violet haired boy a shimmer of hope. The single butterfly that landed upon his body did not even prompt him to suddenly flinch. He was use to these little beautiful insects. Many times, they would grace his presence at Tokyo Bloom’s flower shop in Green Town, and then he would continue his day wondering when the next butterfly would come. He preferred them more than the customers, and something about Phoebe’s display made him rekindle that memory in his heart.
“That’s amazing!” he silently admitted in thought, “She must be great with graphics here!”
There were so many workers in this lab. Officials and their NetNavis that wondered the sanctum had left to assist in parts of the world, especially Electopia at the moment with its unusual crisis. This left the place with minimum staff and NetNavis. Young Xenneth felt he was fortunate enough to meet a talented young woman other than Rosetta who specialized with manipulating the graphics and sub-space of the official’s laboratory…and dancing?
He was so transfixed with the display of fluttering flies and glistening wings that he had almost not noticed that Phoebe had moved like a ghost to the wind. Among the wings beats of the butterflies was the rhythmic movements of the female whom he had watched with a face beat red as the heart that pumped in his chest as it sped up. Every bit of him screamed to close his mouth shut, but it stayed open with the child-like wonder of a baby seeing colors for the first time.
For that moment, everything that was eye-catching pale in comparison to Phoebe's movements.
“You dance…” he said hesitantly. His cheeks flushed red with a silent desire to actually see more. “You dance…great. I liked it.” he admitted in his most fathomable words.
“I needed that. The world has been so crazy lately. I almost forgot how simple things use to be. I use to see butterflies like these…all the time. I don’t even think I have had time to even tend to the Flower Shop and go to school.”
It was true.
Between the world going into mayhem, a Goddess being in his P.E.T., and meeting people who took life a little more seriously, it made him feel so small and inadequate. Had it not been for the NetNavis he met in Element City that helped him rescue Megami, he would not have noticed that there was more to the world than Netbattles, virus busting, and the occasional political uprising. There were world threatening endeavors that twisted time and space, actual tyrants that threatened the world’s peace, and not to mention there were NetNavis everyday that stood up to stop it.
He was starting to realize why his distant cousin was always working hard and why everyone looked to him.
“Phoebe…” Xenneth spoke softly with a look of melancholy in his eyes, “I’m glad people like you exist. I think I see what those other Net Operators go dangerous…and crazy things.”
Of course, he was thinking about those group of miscreants…but for some reason, he could not stop thinking about his best friend’s wonder when he looked to someone like the beautiful, dancing maiden.

War. Peace. Chaos. Serenity.
It was true, there was a need for balance in all things. However... That balance no long existed... Had not existed for quite sometime...
The Maiden pondered thoughtfully on Xenneth's words. The body could hide what the eyes could not, and from what could be gathered, he had seen much. Grateful she could offer solace to his soul, Phoebe thought hard of what more she could do. The simple pleasures in life could be exhilarating. It did not have to be much, but there must be something, anything...
Oh... He did say he enjoyed it...
Inhaling a deep breath in with scarlet cheeks, the Maiden placed one platinum bangle on the small coffee table before them. Lightly touching a button or two within the sliver of platinum itself, low melodious music wove through the room. Rippling softly, the Lady began to sway and slowly dance to the gentle hum. Twirling without care, twisting without worry, the Maiden purposefully moved. Each beat planned, each move deliberate.
To express one's self, to dream, to live... Even if Phoebe was living a life as a chrysalis, fighting the silent battle each day... That did not mean she could not help Xenneth see his wings and fly.

How did she know he had a thing for violins and piano?
Then again, who did not at this point? A sense of normalcy seemed to flood the atmosphere Xenneth’s sapphire orbs stared at the sight of Phoebe’s dance intertwining with melodious tunes that were carried by her movements. His face seemed to blush as he started to feel somewhat embarrassed. Everyone was looking, staring, and some were a bit amused by the sight. He had thought that perhaps they were looking at him, but setting his eyes on Phoebe, seeing their expressions, and seeing their head movements matching that of Phoebe’s told another story.
“They’re…not looking at me…”
It seemed Phoebe had caught people’s eyes. Maybe she had done so for a while, who knew? This day was a very one! It was one of those days where Xenneth had gotten the garnered attention of people for all the right reasons; that he was not some possible girl with enchanting looks that would be found out to be a boy and laughed at. This was certainly not one of those days where they would grab him, beat him up thinking he was a voyeur, or chased about in awkward situations via the entirety of the cheerleading squad.
No, this day was different.
Today, people were staring at someone who he had just befriended and went out the way to make him feel better. This was one of those days where he could genuinely say that he was enjoying himself, even though he had a terrible experience at the start of the morning, and this was the first day he would ever hand where he had a pint of pride when he was standing next to a beautiful young woman while people asked: who is she and why is that mysterious fair lady and why is she hanging around a boy like that?
Yes, fortune smiled on him today, and he acknowledged with him a smile as she swayed his head following Phoebe’s rhythmic movements. His eyes never leaving to pay mind to the visual waste of the school grounds and for once not worried about his best friend as this moment mixed in good faith along with captivating interest for the elegant dancer.
“If only I knew how to dance with her….”
The only regretful thought leaving his lips as he watched her. He spoke it aloud in all his fascination, not even aware of it.

“If only I knew how to dance with her….”
One last twirl, one last note, one last moment of silence... Before one clap broke through. And another. And another. Soon, the foyer erupted into applause. The Maiden, painfully shy and now aware of her summoned audience, blushed crimson red before taking refuge behind Xenneth's seat. She had not known. She peaked out slowly from behind her cover to gaze at the young man's face fearfully. She was expecting fault. Anger. Fury. The past had taught her such. But... There was none to be found. Nothing but wonder, appreciation and... something more... It shocked the Maiden to her very core. Few had shown such sincerity and consideration. A lone tear fell from plum pools from feeling such.
Thunder commanded the skies as the darkened clouds gathered about. The gathered audience moved away from the window panes, worried of what more could go wrong today. The Maiden swiftly moved her small feet, analyzing the situation outside. The gray threatened rain to some, but to Phoebe, they provided the perfect chance. The chance to teach. A wondrous smile grew.
Within the blink of an eye, the Lady of Light seized her twin platinum bangle with eager haste, dashed to the sliding doors beckoning for Xenneth to follow suit outside with delicate arms outstretched. Jumping up and down, she was excited with burning jewels to show him what he could do, ignoring all the onlookers. Her determined nature taking route for she could only think to help her new friend, if he would let her.

How did she know he liked-
Well, he did not like this part honestly. Reality set in quickly as the looming clouds in the sky. If anything was scarier than the sound of thunder was the similar sounds a bunch of clapping hands made, so he too was glad when it came to a quiet. Even now, looking to Phoebe as she set forth to go outside, he was surprised that the young woman he seen moments ago was now up with a clear face of shyness and now expressed pure joy to go somewhere.
No…not just somewhere. Somewhere WITH him.
He withdrew himself at first, clasping the seat as if the invitation was pulling him forth to her like an invisible magnet. However, after thinking it all over, he let go! He let his body take control as his feet taken her to him in a slow pace, and in an instant, he knew he was drawn to her like a firefly was to the moonlight. A rarity it was too see the violet haired boy follow someone so willing, and even more so was that he actually noticed in full detail of a woman’s eyes just as he did Phoebe’s that reflected his own with some thoughts to him.
“Does she truly like being around me?”
She would be one of the first she did. That’s why he had to know!
The violet haired boy took to the doorway in a timid pace. Each step becoming as heavy as the next as he approached Phoebe. Soon, the young boy stood at the precipice of his old sheltered habits and the wonder of being close to someone other than people in his family and a select hand full of NetNavis that he had taken a liking to.

As Merrill and Xylia entered the lobby, Merrill couldn't help but appreciate technology. Humans and navi's alike, closer together. Part of the reason he came here. Maybe this place could be of some help. He walked forward, while looking around, and tipped into a nurse navi. She dropped her clipboard. He apologized and picked it up. As he did so, a staff member came by and instructed them to sit in the lobby. Xylia was about to ask about the Data Center, but she had already left, obviously irritated by Merrill's clumsiness. Merrill shrugged and sighed. He sat, and looked around. His eyes settled on Xenneth and Phoebe as she headed for the exit. He furried his eyebrows, thinking hard.
"I know them. Somewhere, I recognize both of them from different places... But I do not know where..."
Xyila looked down, and sat quietly, thinking. She didn't like many navi's, and fewer people. She waited patiently.

The Maiden's joy overflowed in abundance, if possible at this point. Sky blue boots clicked quickly against the pavement, drawing the young man to the centre of the pathway. She was wary of the heavens, almost completely certain it would not pour... Almost.
Stealing a spin for herself, Phoebe gazed at Xenneth. Hope for him to see and trust for him to feel. Setting the bangle down once more on a stone pedestal, programming it to a certain song, the Maiden stepped back from the lilac-haired boy. Reassuring him as she did so slowly. She would be here, but the journey would be his.
Presenting to him his own stage, the Lady graced a hand toward him from afar. This was for him, to do as he pleased. To move has he wished. To discover what she already knew.

He watched as the fool clumsily fall into a nurse and sat down. To avoid looking too obvious to those in the lobby, he grabbed a clipboard off the desk, and started scribbling on it while he kept his eye on those in the room. He just happened to take a peek when he caught the pair in the chairs – the white haired boy looking down the hallway at the violet haired human and the navi with him. He cocked his head to the side. ”I wonder…” He looked around. Between him and the couple in the chairs, there were two nurses, both chatting. A human and a net navi on one side, of the hallway leading towards the pair who was leaving. Then he was struck with an Idea. It was utterly foolish. He wouldn’t retrieve what he came for, but maybe he could get more information, different information. It would be a worthwhile trade, really. He stood up, walked right over to where Merrill and Xylia were. His voice was so low, that only those two could hear. ”Just as you failed to save anyone before, you will fail to save anyone this time…” Without waiting for a response, he walked forward, quickly. He wasted no time on going straight to the violet boy and the female navi that was with him. Walking out the doors, he darted straight for the Maiden Navi. He spoke to the boy as he passed him. ”Sorry, but she’s coming with me!” He grabbed Phoebe by the arm, with one hand, summoning a black sword in the other. He turned, and without warning, turned and unleashed a wave of black energy directly down the hallway. Without warning, sirens blared, locking on to him. He grinned under his cloak. He shouted down the hallway. ”Aqua Net!” The OEL’s security system looked onto him at that point, and he felt the network kicking him out. He held onto Phoebe, and covered them in black energy, knowing the system would kick her out with him.
???? Teleported out of the network! Destination: Aqua net. Phoebe is taken with him!]
