[smear:FFFFFF]Eon
NPC Level: Titan
One of the most important Navis to ever be known in story, Eon was the ultimate foe of the Eternal Endgame, a story arc that took roughly five years to come to a close.
Eon was one of the most prestigious creations of the infamous Official Experiment Labs (OEL). He was designed as a program that, when properly powered, could analyze and possibly even manipulate the very fabric of reality given the proper hardware. The project took decades, with actual fortunes being poured into it. Other projects were halted or outright terminated as the ambitions of the OEL continued. In fact, the OEL as a whole invested too much funding and effort into Project Eon, a choice that would ultimately lead to disaster. When Eon was nearing completion, a virus infected the OEL's global servers. This wouldn't have been an issue if proper safeguards had been put in place, but the mono-focus on project Eon weakened outer walls of the OEL's defensive capabilities, figuratively speaking, and a massive outbreak resulted. Countless projects of various use and function were either deleted or infected, causing choas throughout all of the OEL's facilities. In the end, not even the defensive force that guarded the project could stand, and chaos was brought to Eon's very doors. Activated before his time as a last-ditch effort to keep such an expensive project away from a virus that stood to cost the facility decades of work, Eon's unfathomable power laid the insurgence to rest in an instant. All who stood against him were obliterated, but the scene did not stop there. Without his complete programming intact, Eon became a herald of destruction, seeking to use himself as a conduit for the network's power to fulfill his program. This translated into a massive server overload that obliterated the Gigamerican OEL network, as well as its real-world counterpart.
Knowing what had happened, the Electopian OEL, now free from the viral break-out, sent a set of three specialized Navis that had managed to survive the chaos. They were quickly outfitted with counter-measures against Eon's reality warping powers and used everything at their disposal to shut down the unwilling tyrant before he became unstoppable. In the end, they succeeded and managed to break Eon's program into three pieces: his mind, his power, and his crest, which was the catalyst to re-create his physical form. Each of the three Navis who defeated him, later called "guardians" by the OEL, took one piece. the Navi named Resonance was to take Eon's crest, the Navi named Triad was to take Eon's power, and the Navi named Eclipse was to take Eon's mind. However, yet another mistake was made at this point; Triad received Eon's mind, and Eclipse received Eon's power. This was thought to be a minor issue, but one that would lead to ominous times in the distant future.
Unable to exert full control within his own systems, Eclipse was eventually driven insane by the presence of Eon's power within him. He was unable to tap into it, but its unfathomable force eroded his mind all the same. Unable to take the pain that it brought with it, Eclipse eventually sought the other guardians with the goal of re-creating Eon. And this is where the Eternal Endgame began.
As a Navi, Eon is actually not the tyrannical force that one would expect. Slow to anger and actually very passive, he seeks to keep himself from attempting to carry out his program as best he can. When free, he will normally create a secluded place and imprison himself there in an attempt to stop himself from causing farther damage. This will normally also bring with it a show of cataclysmic force intended not only to keep others away, but also to show himself as a threat that must be dealt with. He is also somewhat delusional and out of touch with reality. He holds in his mind the paradoxical views that he is both the greatest program to ever be created, and an unfortunate monster that desires to be put down before causing any more harm. If free from his own bondage, who is to say which side of this paradox would prove true...?
Special NPC Abilities:
Eon is classed as one of the most offensively powerful Navis to ever exist, if not the most powerful. As both a conduit for energy and an adapter to use that energy to view and alter the very fabric of time and space, Eon takes all damage that he sustains and returns it exponentially. The result is an all-encompassing disaster of time and space razing power that can take out entire networks, to say nothing of the Navis that are cursed to deal with such an Armageddon. Even without feeding off of damage brought on by others, Eon is capable of using the energy of the net around him to bring about cataclysmic damage. He has slain entire armies that stood against him, and that's not even the true depth of his power.[/smear:666666]
