The button clicks down, and sends the elevator down the shaft. This elevator seems to move very fast, making it seem as though you are descending a floor once every few seconds, as if the tower is endless. Also, this elevator is well lit by built in fluorescents that line the side panels of the expose elevator shaft.
"I think we have gotten off on the wrong foot Antillon. I in no way clam to be all knowing." The Dolor responds. "I only claim to be in control." The Dolor pauses briefly. Various beeps, and bloops faintly sound through the speaker. "Sorry. I am occupied at the moment..."
By what must be some kind of miracle or magic, the elevator continues to gain speed and momentum. Somehow, you have not reached the end of the elevator.
A minute or so passes without word form your "benevolent master". All is quiet, and at peace when...
For FM:
Without warning, you feel a sharp pain in your eyes. Involuntarily, you place you hands over your eyes. It feels as though a knife has been stabbed into each individual socket. The metaphorical blades twist, almost bringing you to your knees in agony. After a few seconds, the worst of the pain dies out. Now left with a awful sting in the whites of your eyes, you remove your hands. A veil of blackness is all you can see. You have been blinded.
Due to your blindness, you are unaware of any visual elements i have written from this point forward.
For Everyone:
You all can see that where FM's eyes once were are now holes, very similar to the ones that were on the civilian navi earlier. They are only about 1/2 of a centimeter in diameter each, but still cover both eyes completely. These holes don't seem to be expanding like "Thomson's", but they do look glitchy, painful, and dangerous.
"Ha! How ironic that the most emotionally resolute among you has the weakest code. I hope it hurts, FM. And let that be a testament to how fragile you all are." The Dolor demonically sermons. "Oh, but don't cry FM, I might have left a spare optical chip in the next room. Which reminds me, it's time for a change of scenery."
A snap of the fingers. The elevator comes to a sudden halt, startling most navi, and even causing the more clumsy ones to fall over. The door of elevator slides open, revealing the new setting.
The new room has the ceiling, walls, and floor all covered in a thick, yellow sandstone. The area is lit well by classical torches that line the walls, each in a metal sconce.
In the center of the room, there is a large, square pool of water, raising about knee deep for the average navi. The midpoint of this pool houses a tall wooden totem poll.
On the left hand wall, there is and a wooden plank nailed down. There appears to be something written into the oak.
Lastly, in the back of the room, there is a (very out of place) dusty control panel, with a small monitor built in. Next to it is a perfectly rectangular indent in the wall leading to a hallway. You can see a metal wall at the end of the hallway.
"Well then, you better get to it." The Dolor says. "I might break the code the FM's memories next! How much would you enjoy hearing his secrets?" The Dolor's laugh is the last thing to be heard before the speaker snaps off.
Introducing a new mode of play- The Exploration room (patent pending)!
How it works: Players can move freely around the room, and do what ever you want. You want to dance? You can! You want to talk to your team-mates? Yep! I will "DM" For all players individually, by using the "For Player A" tag lines I have been using in past posts! Please note, you will need to include some very clear, and concise keywords to let me know what you want to do.
Examples: Derp cautiously crosses the room, and examines the painting.
(Of course, you may post as you normally would, with details and other flowery content, as long as simple commands like that are SOMEWHERE in the post.)
Please note that some of my responses might be very short. That does not mean I am punishing you as a player in any way.I am simply following your lead.
Just like the other elements of this Custom Story, please bare with me as we try it out. If it clearly doesn't work, then you will never see it again. If you like the freedom, then we might see more of it. If players need hints, the Dolor can move things along, etc. Everything is tentative, and as always, If anyone has a problem, feel free to PM me! I love feedback!
New Objective: Explore the room, and find a way out!
FM has been blinded, and thus can not see were he is/ where he is going! FM will need to be guided by another navi.
