~Rosetta & Nu~
________________________________________________________
Calm? Rosetta can do calm, but it was Xenneth she was worried about.
Even now, Rosetta walked along with the group, keeping her head low and playing the role of a helpless little sister. However, she knew she was nothing of the sort at this point. Her mouth was bitter from a lie and eyes heavy with guilt. She dared not let Xenneth see, because even if she was just such a natural genius, she was not smart at hiding her emotions. So, she just walked on, trying to keep her composure and let her mind wander about what she had done.
How could she admit that she was sending him on a chase with no hope? How could she look at him as a brother when she had been nothing more than a dishonest cousin who was trying to justify her overprotective lies. Even then, she tried to get her mind off the subject, but it was a powerful emotional magnet that just pulled her back and let her sink beneath her guilt. She closed her eyes, letting his hands guide her down the hall as she thought so quietly to herself...
“Big brother,” solemnly she thought, “I am so sorry!”

A beep of a pager, a text message later. Rosetta and Xenneth were now free to go.
"I'm sorry, for the inconvenience, children. But I've just received a message and you two are free to go. Do be safe now."
Signas did little more than shoo them away as if they were annoying flies, a lopsided smile on his face, faking his smile over anger. The event was all over, and not a person was harmed - nor a terrorist found. Whoever was orchestrating this thing, they were clever, for sure.
But a thought lingered in the back of Signas' mind - what if there had been no terrorists after all?

~Rosetta & Nu~

Xenneth and Rosetta cut a quick corner the moment they were let free. It was almost since “forever” since they could get back on the Network and they needed to get a jump start on what was happening since this fiasco started. Xenneth, somehow, KNEW Megami was here! She had to be, but he just hoped she had nothing to do with what transpired here. The moment they were clear out of the sight of the man and on Million’s Street sidewalk. Xenneth made haste to whip out his P.E.T. and once again tried to make a connection to Megami on the network.
“No response still...but I know she is on the net!”
“Not exactly.” Rosetta responded so quickly. Xenneth had not even seen the look on her face as her head was lowered.
“Rosetta-ni, don’t be sad about it. Megami is there! You tried your best! She just wasn’t here so...”
“No!” Rosetta cried, “Megami-chan is not on the net! She’s not there! Big brother I’m sorry but that thing...whatever we’re looking for, it’s just...it’s not Megami.”
There was a silence between them. Even then there was the sound of some slight panic and nearby sirens that whished down the street looking for civilians. There was the sound of life returning to the street with some walking pedestrians making their way home after the cataclysmic events. Not to mention, there were the looming eyes that could only help to wonder why there were two children outside amongst the chaos.
It was her fault. It was all her fault!
“How could you say that?” Xenneth’s voice was raspy, “W-why are you giving up look-”
“Big Brother! Listen!” she cried, her eyes fluttering with tears, “I know you want to think that I’m perfect, that I don’t lie, that I know all the answers, but that’s not true! I know that thing isn’t Megami! It’s just a frame that looks like her! For all I know, Megami was probably something all on her own and that thing...it was just something inside her all this time! I’ve scanned it so many times when I first talked to it and...it only looked at me like...like I wasn’t even alive! Like it had no life before what happened! I tried to remake Megami to how she was before in a different body but I did not know how different she was.”
Her head dropped in self-pity. “I still don’t know....what Megami is.”
Xenneth tongue clicked as he tried to rebut a response, but nothing came. Just him not being able to fathom what he was being told. However, there were so many questions, “You experimented...on Megami?” Xenneth had swallowed deeply as he tried to get a grip on the situation. However, there was more than that which was bothering him. His feelings were hurt; a sense of betrayal as he looked at the young woman.
“Rosetta....what have you done?”
The roads were too busy for this! The scene of Million’s street was not the best place to discuss such topics. With his hand reaching out, hesitantly, to touch the young girl: Xenneth guided Rosetta from the street and towards the nearest Train Station. All the while, he was silent and could not bare to look at the young girl, all the while she was not sure she could look up to see his face of disappointment, so she let that melancholy hand guide her all the way home.

After working with Commander Signas for some time in getting everything set back up, Victor is just about done when he recieves an alarm....
Victor: ....fantastic.
looking down at his PET, he sees the alert that New Life has been hacked. Just what he wanted to hear.
Victor: Lance! We've got problems!
Lance: I already heard, our ride's at the airport to get us home.
Lance walks out from around a nearby corner and walks casually to the waiting car, much to Victor's annoyance. Victor then turns to Signas and nods.
Victor: I'm sorry, but we're needed back home.
Victor then follows suit and joins Lance, both now on their way to the airport.
