Vanguard.EXE Stand Up! The Vanguard!
He found out the hard way that one just didn't run away from Juno. After he left Elysium, set on finding his glory without doing things for Juno, he found himself constantly brought back to those daunting words, seared into his mind by the colossus:
"Come. Claim your glory."
Var had called him to pit brother against brother, culling the unworthy from the Net. Those words, no matter how many times he tried to outrun them, haunted him. And, today, he finally listened.
His corrupted data formed haphazardly in the sky above the Reconstruction Site, creating the formless glob of darkness as it did when he was reforming. Despite his lack of current shape or definition, he was more than well aware of the Reconstruction Site beneath him - alive and vibrant with activity, the server was constantly receiving new data to add to its makeup, forming the new castle, quite literally, bit by bit. It looked like they put a lot of work into it.
It was a shame, really. There were plenty of people here to pester, and, if he had to pick anywhere to strike - what, with the new toys Juno lent him - he'd have to go with this one. So much work and effort went into this, and so many people were here to keep track of that effort.
Vanguard decided to not just go and throw the place into chaos, though. He wanted to try some things, first. In a flash, his dark data swirled down onto the nearest platform, supporting a Navi speaking with some of the construction Navis. He coalesced beside her, hoping not to spook her. As he stretched out to get all the kinks out of his muscles - being all spread out and condensed like that for long periods of time freaking hurt - he studied her. Based on her uniform, she was a member of the ONB - weren't they taken over by Gate, a while ago? She was either an old member still clinging hard to her roots, or here for Gate. Either way, she was a nice place to start.
"Terribly sorry to interrupt," he started, rather formal, a complete foil to his general nomenclature of conversation, "But, do you know anything about the rising of Gate? Or Juno, perhaps? I've been, uh, MIA for quite a while."

Someone obviously didn't know much about Serix if they were going to mentin that name around her.
"Gate?"
"THAT USURPING PIECE OF TRASH?!"
It took her a few moments to calm herself down before she turned to the new arrival with a smile that meant anything but happiness.
"You'd do well to stay away from him. After all, those around him won't be for very long. As for this Juno person, I have no idea who they are."

Vanguard.EXE She went from calm-and-friendly to exasperated-and-murderous. She talked like some sort of hot head, but, based on her demeanor towards someone like Gate, he made a solid guess that she wasn't on the best of terms with other villains.
"You've never heard of Juno? The man with all of the Reaverbots?
". . .Ya know, he kind of runs Elysium? Striking people down left and right, chanting about 'Cleansing the World'?" He let that sink in, trying to rise some sort of memory from her. If that didn't work, his next comment would sure send her through a loop.
This whole 'polite and friendly' thing was getting old. Time to get back into his normal skin. "The guy who sent me to wreck havoc on this place, ultimately planning to ruin their plans of ever completing reconstruction?"

'Wow, this guy is really trying to pick a fight.'
"Well, guess I don't need to go easy on you then."
As he whole body started glowing, one might notice the temperature in the area rising by about 5 degrees F/second. In other words, someone just said the wrong thing to this navi.
"Since you seem pretty eager to fight, you should at least give me your name. As for mine, it would be Serix. If you know anything about who I am, or what I do, you should know that coming here was a bad idea."Link for fight

Vanguard.EXE Vanguard liked that he could push her buttons so easily.
"Oh, I'm not just eager - I'm in need," he said with a snarl, raising a flaming fist into the air. "Now, I hope you don't mind if I brought a few friends."
As if on cue, little breaks in the fabric of Net Reality shimmered all around him, as four little cretins came floating into existence - two green, two red. The little reavers came floating up beside him, spinning in a mixture of anger and eagerness for the battle to come.

The automated worker paused within the execution of its duties when the newer visitor provoked a fight with Serix. It whirred with a low hum as it sent data to other workers across the network. Construction workers soon after were disconnected and relocated by what could have been considered an emergency directive.
At the castle, Saikikka skimmed over the combat intelligence, breaking his brief meeting over finances and citizen affairs with his benefactors. A single gloved finger instructing them to wait silently.
Just a moment.

Vanguard.EXE With a final punch, Serix seemed to be done. Vanguard huffed, still in his Darksoul, his anger still at its edge. "Not all that tough, are you? I expected more. . .I may not be able to Delete you, but, you'll never forget this.
Vanguard lowered his fist, some of the dark energy from his punch lingering in the air around where the blow landed. The leftover energy from his Darksoul dissipating, as he felt his injuries slowly but surely losing severity. Within a couple of seconds, his shadowy aura had calmed down to be little more than an extra layer of skin, any traces of pain or damage gone. The only remnant of the fight that remained was his adrenaline rush, and the floating pink halo over his head.
He glared at it, hoping that would make it go away. It didn't. The little pink-pill, proffered by The Great Pink One, was persistent. With any luck, it'd eventually disappear. He hoped. With any luck, so would the fiery Navi.
Speaking of disappearing. . . He spun on his heel, searching for one of the Construction Drones he saw, before. He carefully strode over to it, keeping his face bare of his feelings about that fight.
That Navi was unbelievably strong. . .the fact that Juno had to step in was rather embarrassing, but, it helped me secure the win. And this was exactly why he needed to be doing what he was doing - challenging impossible foes to get better.
"Leave a message for the master of this Castle, for me, will you?
"Juno's got his eyes on Creamland. This is just the beginning. I'll be back, and, when I return, I'll be stronger. . .and Creamland will become apart of Elysium." In his head, he added a little bit more to that response: If I'm not with Juno when I come back. . .there won't be anything left of Creamland to take.
With that taken care of, Vanguard left. He'd be going off of his own agenda until he got his next set of orders from Juno, and he had some unfinished business to tend to. He had to get stronger.
And he knew the perfect place to start.

Serix simply glared at this navi until he left. Never before had she come across such a navi. Still, his message was quite clear, and something that she could not ignore. As she muttered to herself, she made her way to the castle, to see if anyone inhabited it.
"Been a while since I was home last, things may have changed a bit."

The traffic around the castle had resumed once again. There were more Tempest personel than usual, most of them leading others in uniform away from the castle in small groups. Traffic actually entering the castle had ceased. The only logic being that the actual castle was unavailable to the public.

"Green Tempest? I think I must have hit my head on something. Unless that whole ONB thing was a bad dream."
Changing her data to show her old Green Tempest uniform, Serix walked over to the nearest Tempest navi.
"So, who's the acting commander at this location? I have important information that should interest them."

She got a non verbal response from the soldier. They gestured behind themselves in the direction of the castle. More tempests were following a navi into the castle with a different type of clothing on. Non-military at that. This left a pair of navis at its courtyard, both of which were discussing something that didn't want to be heard.

Taking note of the two that were left, Serif walked over and introduced herself.
"My name is Serix. I am a navi from the ONB, and Green Tempest. I've been away for a while, could one of you tell me about any recent changes that may have happened?"
She had a look of irritation when she mentioned the ONB, if she could even call it that anymore.
"I'm actually a resident of Creamland, myself, and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to help out around here."

Two pairs of eyes locked on to Serix as she approached, one pair simply vanished when she wandered too close, and the other stared with a blank expression.
Saikikka's fingers flexed over the data he still had yet to fully review from one of the construction drones.
You say you are... a Tempest?
His eyes weren't on her, but rather the hologram like data-visuals the drone was replaying. The next question followed without time for her to answer in full, if at all.
And you have been away for how long? Or rather, AWOL, soldier?

"No, not AWOL. I was helping the ONB. My last active mission was in Element City...."
And that was precisely when her locket fell to the ground, audibly at that.
"Jin....."
She was whispering to herself this time, hoping that the other didn't hear her as tears silently streamed down her face.

It wasn't that he didn't hear her hushed words, he was ignoring them. His right hand opened like it was gripping a softball, and with a turn of his hand Serix would find her head moving, turning and ajusting to meet his own. She would feel as if something in the very air was moving her easily, with no way of compromise. She was stuck in a sort.
The construction crew reported combat in an area being renovated. What happened?
Her eyes as well were moved with an adjustment of his ring and thumb finger. He was staring dead into her. The tears on her face difted off her skin into two puddles between the two of them. Without any movement of his own, they began to elongate into a pair of long, thin objects.
He was oddly patient with her.
