[bgcolor=000055] “I always feel one step closer.” [/font] _______________________________[/right] The Dark City of Hackers Network was impressive to no end...
Megami still could not fathom the words to describe it; but whatever “it” was, she stepped into it. She had passed right by the female NetNavi as well as Warrior as she seemed to give no wait to cues or plans. After all, he was accompanying her, and that meant she could not rely on him; it would be wrong of her. The thought however told her not to let no one usurp Xenneth’s place as being someone she relied on; an uncomfortable and blind jealousy guiding her forth into Hacker’s Network regardless of potential danger.
“I believe I’ve gone this way,” Megami said to herself, stroking her index finger on her chin and letting it stop at her neck as she thought, “...so, maybe I should try this way?” her eyes going to another particular direction. “No...maybe this way...” she said going to the opposite.
She was clearly indecisive at the moment.
“Oh, this way! When you can’t go forward, go the right way!”
Another catchy tune probably spun from Xenneth’s yarn of wisdom. Her eyes went to the right as the crossroad of a path in the city pathway. Megami had spun on her heel and walked in the direction she faced, not so much mindful of Warrior or the female NetNavi she met. After all, she was not exactly fond of meeting random people in the Undernet as she hung onto the warning and words of Silence. The attacking NetNavis and their horde of Dark Chips had seemed to be intimidating, but not a block for her on her mission. ______________________________ “Then I find out how far the distance is.” [/font][/center] ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Lolita Libretto” by Kanon WakeshimaIC Attire: Megami:: Fallen from GraceChatty Ditz: -----[/size]

"So, just how long have you been helping others?"
" I try to make a habit of it... Did your sister get lost?"
The group of four suddenly shrunk to a group of three. For being someone who said he'd watch out for these two, he obviously wasn't doing a very good job if he'd already lost the other girl.
Megami came out before he gave it too much thought, though.
“I believe I’ve gone this way...so, maybe I should try this way? No...maybe this way...”
This girl was more indecisive with a simple choice than Warrior was on the battlefield.
“Oh, this way! When you can’t go forward, go the right way!”
... What did she just say?
" Regardless of whichever route we take, we'll need to ask somebody here for some guidance. We need to avoid getting lost or going in circles, but beyond that, we'd probably find this thing a lot quicker by taking advice from somebody who lives down here."
And beyond that, Warrior was still unsure of whether or not this BBS still existed. It was worth searching out, though.
" ... Odds of us finding anybody down here that's friendly are pretty slim to none, though."
After giving it brief thought, Warrior shook his head and followed after Megami. Whether or not they attracted trouble wouldn't matter at this point, because atleast then they'd be able to get some information.
And if that was the case, then it really didn't matter which direction they went in... as long as they found themselves among a lot of people, trouble would usually find its way to them.

"...Did your sister get lost?"
"My sister doesn't matter. She doesn't care about anyone but herself anyway, so I'm sure she'll be perfectly happy wherever she ends up." After that last argument, Sun couldn't care less about the darkloid she once called her sister. The only issue left was finding someone that could guide them. "So, what you're saying is that we need a guide if we are to make it very far, or at least reach our goal."

"My sister doesn't matter. She doesn't care about anyone but herself anyway, so I'm sure she'll be perfectly happy wherever she ends up."
Kinda harsh... but these girls would get over it eventually. It's what siblings do. They argue, break up, then make up. Just one of those things Warrior never fully understood, but he knew that in order for it to happen, you usually just had to sit by and let it happen.
"So, what you're saying is that we need a guide if we are to make it very far, or at least reach our goal."
" I'm saying..."
Probably should've chosen those last words more carefully before saying them.
" ... We just go this way for now, and see where it takes us. But don't expect much."
The strange urge to say something rhetorical like "keep you guard up" was starting to rise... but he was sure that these girls were smart enough to already know that.
Well... actually...
" ... And keep your guard up."
... you could never be too sure.

[glow=white,2,500]*Before long, a large sound of destruction occurred, as it swathed through the Hacker's Network. Screams of terror and agony could be heard as a lone female blew away heel navis right and left. As a brutish navi was thrown to Megami's feet, the girl picked him up by the throat as if he was weightless.*
Embera: Where can I find him?! He lives here doesn't he?![/glow]
*The Heel navi quaked in fear, this girl meant business. Sure he was tough, but he couldn't handle someone like this, and he began fearing for his life.*
Navi: I told you! We don't know where you could find him! He's hardly ever around anymore!!!
[glow=white,2,500]*Embera had enough of his uselessness, and squeezed his neck until he didn't move, and then finally...pop! Soon after the gruesome display, the heel navi's data dissipated as Embera clenched her fist that had gripped him previously. Turning her attention to Warrior and Megami, she lighted up a lot more, but was still obviously tense.*
Embera: What're you doing here?! [/glow]

"What're you doing here?!"
" Getting out of your castle. Like you told us to."
He couldn't tell if Embera was "concerned for their safety", or if she was just upset for running into them again... this being, like, the third consecutive time. It was ironic how their paths kept coming together like this.
" ... And looking for the Under BBS, assuming it's still out here."
Should the ask for Embera's help? No... it's insanity to do the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. She'd respond just as before.
Should they follow Embera around on her... whatever it was she was doing? No... She's more of a soloist than Warrior, and he respected that. Plus, he wasn't even sure what she was up to right now.
Should he ask? No... Embera's business is private stuff. You don't ask her what she's doing. You just watch.
So what was there to do? How was one to respond to this?
" ..."
Warrior looked at where all the fallen Heel Navis had been knocked away by Embera during her rage-fit-thing. Then gave his gaze back to Embera as he made a motion with his hand as if swatting a fly.
" ... Carry on."
Having her blow up every person down here was actually somewhat beneficial. It made the area much less threatening to search for information. To some, it may have contradicted Warrior's attitude to protect other navis, regardless of their karmic affiliation.
But really, he was prepared to fight off these guys anyway, because he didn't trust them.
Having someone else do the fighting for him was strangely satisfying.
For bearing the name "Warrior", he certainly hadn't been living up to it lately. But was he the only person that didn't notice it?
He made a few steps away from the scene as he continued searching for the BBS... sort of trying to ignore all of the dead Heel Navis lying around.
This was a normal kind of thing in the Undernet... wasn't it?

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera gritted her teeth and shook her head at Warrior.*
Embera: Not there anymore...and who are you to give me permission to act?
*Embera tilted her head at Warrior condescendingly before fixing her short hair. Her golden, glass armor reflected nothing from the dark net. Her look was cold and she glared at Warrior with piercing eyes as he walked away from her.*
Embera: Y'know, you're doing an awful lot of snooping around. What? Are you too weak to fight that you've become a bookworm to hide your weakness? Some Warrior you are...such a cowardly gesture...[/glow]

Warrior stopped in his tracks as Embera's words echoed in his ear. He felt a familiar surge of energy originate from his chest and travel throughout his body like a shockwave. As the anger reached his finger tips it caused his hand to reflexively tighten into a fist.
"Y'know, you're doing an awful lot of snooping around."
His teeth clenched and the leather gloves squeaked just a little bit as his fist tightened even harder. Luckily his back was still turned to her -- she could have been talking to someone else... right?
" What? Are you too weak to fight that you've become a bookworm to hide your weakness?"
" ..."
The surge of anger coursed his body a second time. His shoulders began to shiver ever so slightly and his biceps quickly tightened and released -- as if it were some weak attempt to contain the rush of energy he had just experienced. The actions were small and unnoticeable to the others, but Warrior's experience with the long-forgotten emotion began to give him a strange hunger for violence again. He was redeveloping an unquenchable thirst for blood at an alarming rate.
" Some Warrior you are...such a cowardly gesture..."
And then all of a sudden, it stopped.
His mind was back to normal, his jaw loosened and his fists unclenched. Warrior tilted his head back so that he could just see Embera from the far corner of his eye.
" ... Nah. I just pick on people my own size."
He grinned a little bit as his tone got a little cocky. He'd convinced himself that this just wasn't worth his time.
" ... Maybe you deleted all of these inferior navis to hide your own weakness?"
His head faced forward again, but he continued to stand there. Probably because he was still waiting on the other two girls to move.
" It's nothing impressive to squash a bug. I don't waste my time with it... But I still can't seem to understand why you do."
Arms crossed, back still turned to Embera. He kept himself ready, though... back-talking her was seldom met without consequence... and in hindsight, it probably wasn't such a great idea with Megami and Sun still around.
Too late to change what's been said, though.
" ... You done here?"

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera's teeth gritted at Warrior's words. Sure she had said the same to him at one point, and now that she's on the other end, she could tell why it made him angry. Wrenching Warrior around and kneeing him in the gut, Embera threw him a few feet back.*
Embera: Don't EVER attempt to judge my motives. You've room to talk. You prance around with your little spiels about fighting to protect people, yet you can do nothing for them! All you've ever fought for was to save your own precious little life you hypocrite. Right now you're in the Undernet looking for nonexistent "information" so you don't have to confront it! A Warrior takes the stand and moves, you're nothing but a weakling who can barely save himself. What's worse, your inability to keep yourself safe, or the fact that you claim to have the ability to help others with your false bravado? Give it up you little whelp.
*Embera's eyes were stone cold, fists clenched, and ready to shut down this runt where he stood.*[/glow]

The light navi watched these two go at it for a while, but she could only take so much. Eventually, she reached her limit. She quickly walked up to the both of them, and gave them each a good smack in the face. "What do either of you know about what goes on in the other's head?! You don't! Only that person does. Besides, we have our own set tasks, both our group, and you. So I suggest that we stop with the petty squabbling and do what we all came here to do. Honestly, all of this senseless fighting is making me sick!" After saying what she had to say, she returned to her usually calm state. Her voice, eventually returned to it's sweet tone, rather than the angered one that she had been using while chastising the other two. "Now, since the Undernet BBS is no-longer here, there are other ways of gathering information. For example, observing your surroundings." She then looked to the other girl. "I must apologize for letting you see that. It rarely ever happens. So, if you would, please, take a look around and tell me what you see."

Warrior expected the response, so he wasn't caught off-guard with the knee-to-the-gut. It still gave his stomach a nice shock to deal with, but it didn't know the wind out of him. He almost grinned at the pain... it'd been a while since he really fought.
He regained his posture while dusting off his shoulder (for whatever reason), while listening to Embera's hissy fit.
" ..."
No response.
Just a gaze to lock eyes with her. Not angry, yet not forgiving. His eyes were almost void of emotion -- void of concern.
He had several arguments and rebuttals he could've thrown back, but she hadn't pushed him that far... not yet.
" ..."
But she was certainly getting close.

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera only smirked and shook her head as Warrior stayed silent. The blow rung true on her face from Sun. Embera immediately grabbed the girls neck and looked directly at Warrior.*
Embera: Isn't this what you're fighting for?! See how you do nothing but watch in silence, powerless to change?! You're worthless as a fighter, and are better off crawling in a hole than trying to match up to that which you cannot comprehend...
*With her eyes back to that condescending look, Embera twisted her wrist, resounding a sickly crack on Sun's neck. Slamming the girl into the ground and blasting her with Solar energy, she only flexed her hand after.*
Embera: Nothing you could've done. So now, just do what's best and give up. Your pathetic attempts to prove yourself have been nullified every attempt you've made. You're nothing, and are incapable of the feats and grandeur you've illuded in yourself. So come to terms with that, and go back to the hole you belong in.[/glow]

As the girl was being held in the solar navi's hand, she managed to squeeze out a few words to her protect her. "Don't....Give up...." And, just like that, she was gone. It took less than an instant really.

" EMBERA, DON--"
-- too late.
"Don't....Give up...."
Warrior felt another wave of emotion wash over his body again -- this time inflicting some kind of sharp pain near the center of his chest, enough for him to grasp it with his hand as if it had an almost debilitating effect on him.
He didn't necessarily care for this navi... but he could no longer ignore what Embera was saying -- his mind couldn't disprove it anymore.
If he couldn't protect one girl, how could he protect anybody?
' No... I helped save the world one ti--..'
... Did he?
Warrior's mind quickly flashed back to the events of the Eternal Endgame, almost six years ago. Navis from all over the world gathered together to fight against god-like beings to defend their very existence... But Warrior wasn't on the frontline.
No where near the front, in fact.
He was somewhere near the back, quite helpless to the situation.
The other navis did all the work. Warrior's only contribution was to nearly die in the after-explosion of the event. He didn't accomplish anything, really.
... But neither did Embera. She wasn't even around at that time.
Warrior slowly raised his face to her, showing an obviously higher amount of emotion than before, but still tightly gripping his chest as if trying to compress the amount of anger he was gradually starting to feel.
His eyes sharp, mouth closed, and body slightly hunched over with chin raised. He locked eyes with her again, as if desperately trying to look past them to see what had become of Embera on the inside.
" ... What's it matter to you? Why should you be so concerned with the way I live my life, and why are you so hellbent on changing it?!"

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera's face showed no sign of emotion, save deceit. Her eyes looked almost lifeless, yet full of the burning flames of power. She was unwavering at Warrior's plight.*
Embera: Don't ask such trivial things, my reasons are none of your concern.[/glow]
