Megami.EXE: "Where would information in such a Network be found? I have a feeling that even this place has denizens that speak of ‘what’s up,’ yes?"
The corpse-like Navi mused to himself, watching in part entertainment and in part annoyance as Shade was flung towards Static. He wasn't quite sure what business either of them really had here other than to maybe act as fodder. ...Or perhaps food.
Even the Navi that flung Shade was still questionable. "His home?" Sure. He obviously had not met the landlord then.
Silence.EXE: "I will restate myself. You would do better to trust your own eyes and ears here than someone who has not stepped foot here for all of those years."
Silence's eyes were closed, as if he were somewhat irritated as the repeat question, yet his eyes seemed also like they were focusing, as if trying to remember something. Continuing to keep his eyes shut, he spoke, leaving no other reaction on his face.
Silence.EXE: "Years ago however, they did have the Ura BBS, an anonymous bulletin board for which people could post whatever they pleased. That said, I'll not waste my breath warning you in detail--many exist here for the sole purpose of preying on the innocent."
Silence opened his eyes again, walking so his back was somewhat faced towards Megami while he himself faced the deeper side of the Uranet. It indeed had changed, though with a world as dynamic--perhaps too dynamic, as this, it came to him as of little surprise.

“This is not the reunion I wanted at the moment” _______________________________ "I will restate myself. You would do better to trust your own eyes and ears here than someone who has not stepped foot here for all of those years."
“Oh,” Megami chimed remembering the words said before, “My apologies then. I did not mean to.”
Megami’s eyes saw no expression, but just the clothed back of the NetNavi who spoke. She had taken a step to his side while her right hand lifted stroking a finger under her chin. Her strokes were slow, eyes also as they wandered and taken around the area. Just by her movements, one could tell she was trying to process it all; burn this dark place into her eyes for the sake of getting use to her surroundings. She had not even known if escaping this place that “bordered life and death” would be any easier than finding it...whatever “it” was.
"Years ago however, they did have the Ura BBS, an anonymous bulletin board for which people could post whatever they pleased. That said, I'll not waste my breath warning you in detail--many exist here for the sole purpose of preying on the innocent."
“Ura...B-B-S...?” Megami said to herself, seeming as if she ignored the rest. However, dropping her chin into her stroking finger that clasped at the cleft with that and a thumb, she was within heavy thought once more as if she was debating about it all. “I see...so this BBS within this world is resourceful, but also dangerous because those here can become victims of what they call, ‘trolls’, yes?”
Megami knew very little about Bulletin Board Stations as is other than accessing one for Xenneth. There was the time that someone had posted rude and harsh comments about him on the public network boards pertaining to school. She recalled one even saying the boy who “Looks like and acts like a wimpy chick” and the comments would cause for Megami to be formal in addressing how unkind it was. Regardless however, they did little caring and somehow just went on to provoke her more to the point Xenneth had to explain “Internet Trolls” to the ignorant and irritated Megami.
It seemed, even now, all she could think about was being careful because her Net Operator taught her how with what little she knew about how cruel the world could be to innocent people like him...and innocent individuals like her. ______________________________ “But it will have to due for right now!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”The Zone” by The WeekendIC Attire: Megami:: Graceful Goddess {Default}Nu :: Default Chatty Ditz: ------

(( That awkward moment when you realised a post you spent 30 mins on didn't submit correctly and you lost it. Did I mention that Word thought it was funny to crash?
Oh yeah, mentioning the Ura BBS reminds me somewhat of 4chan or some really bad subreddit or something. Anyone else get that vibe lately? ))
Megami.EXE: "Ura... B-B-S...? I see... so this BBS within this world is resourceful, but also dangerous because those here can become victims of what they call, ‘trolls’, yes?"
Haa. Even Silence couldn't help but suppress a slight chuckle as he heard the word 'trolls' from Megami. A muffled, slightly sick chuckle could be heard, as if Silence were visualizing something a bit wry, a bit ridiculous in his head. He turned his head somewhat, leaving Megami with the feeling of golden, glowing eyes burning into her being as they glimpsed at her.
Silence.EXE: "...The 'trolls'... are the least of your concerns."
A small, cooled breeze could be felt throughout the area again, giving it an atmosphere of a vast, endless space. It was nothing, yet it could hold everything at the same time. His head turned to face Megami more, though still, despite his words there was something uneasy or perhaps... unnatural about his movements.
Silence.EXE: "I'll not waste our time with talk about trifling concepts such as 'safety,' but your demeanor and appearance... Makes for a good victim. All one would need to do is to knock you out or even kill you... and then loot you afterward. "
Silence shifted his gaze away from Megami, facing away from her as his eyes too had turned away, all in a stiff fashion that would remind one of the effects from rigor mortis, as if he were attempting to hide his speech, or perhaps some taboo that he prepared to speak of. Even his smile suddenly flickered out, as he appeared solemn, his expression turning to stone.
Silence.EXE: "...Or worse."
Silence looked at her again. His movements seemed to cause friction within his body, as if there were mechanical parts that were grinding against each other as a result of poor engineering or neglect. This time, he was directly looking at her, the sight of his illuminated, glowing yellow eyes burning into Megami's, as if her were attempting to peer through her eyes into her essence, her being.
Silence.EXE: "It becomes particularly easy if the victim has no operator, no external entity to watch over and document it to later on demand retribution."
Silence started to take further, slow steps towards the deeper path of the Uranet. He smirked a bit, then looked almost as if he were preparing to draw a weapon. Strangely though, he reached for his back, as if attempting to draw some nonexistent sword or weapon. As he almost grasped that invisible weapon, he suddenly stopped, as if remembering the lack of a weapon there.
Silence.EXE: "...And save your apologies for when you really have done wrong."
A small "Heh." could be heard under Silence's breath as he stood there, still gazing at the labyrinth before him that he was to tread.

[bgcolor=000055] “This is not the reunion I wanted at the moment” _______________________________ "...The 'trolls'... are the least of your concerns." Megami felt a chill hearing this.
Maybe it was her imagination? She could not be sure. Megami was not good at observations, but she could not help but to notice every unusual characteristic of the Undernet. Her eyes remained on the NetNavi who guided her here and his movements. She had not questioned them thinking it would be rude, but there were his eyes again that she seldom seen ever since they had left the confines of Night Net. Her
"I'll not waste our time with talk about trifling concepts such as 'safety,' but your demeanor and appearance... Makes for a good victim. All one would need to do is to knock you out or even kill you... and then loot you afterward. "
Megami’s hands went over her chest.
Yes, she was not the best when it came to appearances, she would admit that. Even now, she could glance herself over and remember this costume design. It was a graphic that Rosetta created for her upon a visit. The first time she had changed her body and posture from an ordinary Normal NetNavi and released the Black Box program, she had gained characteristics of a nude woman as if she was a new fresh babe. She remembered that day so clearly: there was a lot of blood that day...
Xenneth’s nose just would not stop until he called Rosetta.
Simply, she was not sure how to do anything: whether fight or even to cloth herself. She did not know functions of a NetNavi, and yet she was trying to emulate one to her fullest ability. She was a simple program created for one purpose and tried to emulate others. She was just to be “observed” as she grew with the Black Box program that was supposed to be a human discovery among many: a NetNavi that could obtain the powers of a seraphim or even a Goddess if she were to ever fully blossom! However, that knowledge was beyond her, and even Xenneth who saw each other as just one thing between themselves: best friends!
If she could not be a NetNavi, a proper experiment, how could she say she could exist “properly?” How was she to say that being a “Victim” was not something that was coming to her?
”...or worse.” Her body flinching as if to ask, “How”, but Megami was silent as the NetNavi went one. The movements of his body gauged for her attention, and so her eyes created a bridge to his own as she gazed into them as if he was meaningfully brandishing a menacing provocation for her to listen as he spoke, "It becomes particularly easy if the victim has no operator, no external entity to watch over and document it to later on demand retribution." A gentle and weak smile crept across Megami’s face hearing this. “A worry I rather not have,” the angelic voice of the female NetNavi speaking with some upbeat and sincere tone that would question a killer, “He deserves better than to know that I have come looking for him. I want him to feel no fault if I were to vanish from this world.”Her mind drifting back to the affectionate thought of her Net Operator. At the NetNavi’s words, she knew he was right. She would save her apologies for who truly deserved them: she had to apologize to Xenneth somehow if something were to happen to her in her efforts to search for him; she would prove to be too weak to live up to her end of the promise. However, she was not looking to fail, even if her odds were against her in the form of this dark and dank Network.[/blockquote] ______________________________ “But it will have to do for right now!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”The Zone” by The WeekendIC Attire: Megami:: Graceful Goddess {Default}Nu :: Default Chatty Ditz: @sil: LOL! (( Tell me about it. T_T Word didn't quite back it up either, though Word and I don't exactly... get along.
If it's of any consolation, the Ura BBS seems more like wannabe gangsta middle schoolers in the games than a 4chan type of place. I just drew a parallel though since it supposedly serves a similar function. @_@
To be honest, I realised that a world akin to the EXE world is in our future; I'm taking a class all about it: Siri is in a sense a Net Navi! We just don't have battles to wipe viruses, and probably never will, but the idea of a computerized world where almost anything you can name is a computer? Give it five or ten years.
[/rant] ))
Megami.EXE: "He deserves better than to know that I have come looking for him. I want him to feel no fault if I were to vanish from this world."
...Looking for him? Was this Navi insane, or are people much more easily digitized using some Reverse Synchro Chip-esque technology? Silence seemed to have his own trouble wrapping his mind around this.
Silence.EXE: "...Better reason than just 'I want to train.' Finding a human here though..."
Those last few words appeared to trail off more to Silence himself. His voice became quieter towards the end, but somehow he seemed to show more expression, as if slightly interested in Megami's objectives. Still, it was not of his concern, though if humans were indeed able to be immersed into this world, like a virtual reality, it would go against all of that augmented reality research being done elsewhere. Silence appeared to be in some thoughts to himself, though still, he paced forward a bit, as if needing that movement to keep his thoughts running. It was a strange existence here as it was, and now humans were potentially being thrown here?
...Or did he misunderstand?
...Survivor's Guilt.

[bgcolor=000055] “This is not the reunion I wanted at the moment” _______________________________ "...Better reason than just 'I want to train.' Finding a human here though..."
“No,” Megami intervened in on the spoken thought of the NetNavi, “…Not like that.”
The NetNavi had seemed to peer into the darkness before her. The static-filled background of the network sounding with nothing but the same low buzz and hum that seemed to be the “silence” of the Network whenever one would stand within it. If they wanted quiet, most likely this was the only thing close. There was no calming sound of waves like Beach Area that Megami was directed there by Xenneth, nor a gentle rustle of leaves caused by the cyber winds of Green town’s network. There was only that sound that drowned out her memories that brought her a grim depression.
“I came here hoping to find something, probably a resolution?” Megami had thought, “Xen-kun is out in the world looking for Rosetta-nii. He will not come back without her, and the least I can do is at least find something of use that the ONB would consider helpful. To be honest, I had not thought exactly what I can find here that would help, but whatever it is…” Megami had paused. Her chin dropping slightly showing a small hint of despair admitting to her foolishness, “Maybe there would be an answer to ridding the network of that horrid thing they fear. Then, Xenneth would be safe in the Real World. Even if I perish here, it would not matter, he would at least be safe, yes?”
Megami wanted to be useful. In her heart, she felt she never was.
There was only an instance of her life where she felt that she felt like “something” and that was when she met Xenneth whom had tried to educate her on what she was, what the world was. He was the reason she awakened from the husk of a thoughtless program and had explained to her she was a NetNavi, and even more, an individual. He taught her a friendship she would never forget, as even now, her tender feelings for his sentiments had made her do foolish things without thoughts of her “being” or whatever that was!
She could only think of a warmth she could not describe.
“I..I…” the angelic NetNavi’s eyes gazed off to the glowing terrain that emitted through the darkness, “I just wonder if there is truly anything here that will give us hope. It was ‘they’ whom told me that ‘hope’ could be found even in places even like this.” her words were followed by a weak smile as she said this, realizing that she was following the words of the spunky spirit of the little sister; not even realizing she was taking the advice of a young thirteen-year old, nor that she even know the lack of validity behind such words.
All she ever done, like now, was believe. ______________________________ “But it will have to do for right now!” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”The Zone” by The WeekendIC Attire: Megami:: Graceful Goddess {Default}Nu :: Default Chatty Ditz: @sil: I actually wrote a paper referencing the future as something as similar to Battle Network; the simplicity of the network would allow children to even cause mischief that can harm thousands. \Small talk

"...To...."
The mysterious one was right. what was it that Shade really wanted with the power he sought. Then, an answer came to him, one that he never expected.
"...To Protect..."

*The navi just laughed quietly at the foolish person before him.*
?: Let me tell ya, if I had just a zenny for someone who wanted power to protect something, or someone, I could own the whole net... Power is pointless...it just simply exists and solves nothing...I learned that the hard way. So just give up on fruitless endeavors and live.

"Then how about to destroy the thing that threatens the very existence of the net itself?"
Shade had grown tired of the mysterious one's riddles, he knew what he had to do, and what he needed in order to do it.
"If you don't care whether or not your home, or even you yourself get destroyed by something you cannot even comprehend the power of, then I will find someone who does."
And, while irate, Shade calmly strode towards the door, planning on leaving with or without the sarcastic one.

*Shaking his head. The stranger sat back in a chair relaxed. Cracking his knuckles, he retorted nonchalantly to Shade.*
?: I'm just a navi. I haven't had a place in this net since the first rise of Gospel. I comprehend power, and if I'm deleted, I'm deleted. We're just programs, that's it. We may have sentience, but we have no worth besides what we subjectively find in a useless cling to some sense of purpose. I'm not going to illude myself into thinking otherwise, I'm not foolish. You're blind to see otherwise, and have no reason to remain here.

This strange one, Shade just knew that he couldn't possibly be correct in his statement, so, he left the building with these words.
...take care of yourself...
and eventually he made his way back to two of the others, a girl with a strange look on her face, and one with a cloak around him.
So, find anything interesting?

Static jumped away from the vampire that was flung in his direction, landing gracefully a while away. He watched, mildly uninterested, in the proceedings between the green one and the foolish vampire.
As the fanged navi walked away, Static approached the navi that brought images of toxic sludge and waste to Static's mind.
"Isn't that a little. . . Nihilistic?"
The words were calm, but the last word was laced with inquisitiveness, and a hint of malice. He leaned against his spear, waiting for a reply.

*The poisonous navi chuckled a bit at Static's words. Flexing his palms, he melted the head of his chair to a more ergonomic design.*
?: I supposed you could say that it is. The way you say it, almost makes it seem like I should be ashamed of it. Tell me, what have you against my views? Enlightenment comes at a cost. I've payed the price, and hold no regrets. But please, if you feel you have some shred of info you can bring to my attention, I will gladly hear you out. If not, well, you know where the door is. *The stranger wasn't one who enjoyed company, without profit of course. Not one with a need for monetary gain, he sought knowledge from those he encountered, and if this navi couldn't provide payment, he was nothing but a little squatter in his home.*

(( @div: Oh, it's already happened. And not even with Internet, but we have problems like sexting or even high schoolers who are making a mess. I have a friend whose older brother got arrested by the FBI for attempting to hack... I think Texas's government's network, of all things. I don't exactly know why.
@everyone_ELSE: Teh eff is with the Team _____ Star names? o_O ))
Megami.EXE: "Maybe there would be an answer to ridding the network of that horrid thing they fear. Then, Xenneth would be safe in the Real World. Even if I perish here, it would not matter, he would at least be safe, yes? I just wonder if there is truly anything here that will give us hope. It was ‘they’ whom told me that ‘hope’ could be found even in places even like this."
A slightly disappointed sigh escaped Silence. He looked away from Megami again, his teeth slightly clenched. Hope is not what one comes here for. Only specific, planned-out reasons should exist for entering these depths. Rockman's endeavor to obtain the fabled Giga Freeze program was one such occasion, and as the corpse-like Navi sighed he also thought to himself -- he too was looking for something, though... he did indeed know what.
Silence.EXE: "People who come here in search of some lost Romantic ideal are doomed to rest in peace here as well. Unless you know, and know well, what that "horrid thing" is, you best leave this place."
She was less blind than some of the others, but still, she did indeed have some wool over her eyes. Anyone who hoped to obtain anything here... had better hope to have no binding reason to the mortal coil. Sans desire, sans faith, sans love. Someone who had hoped to still do something for someone was better off trying to do so, as opposed to dying here and then failing altogether. Still, at least it was better than the boilerplate "I want to get stronger." statement.
Shade.EXE: "So, find anything interesting?"
This place was no gold mine. It was not a haven, or even an oasis in a land of corruption. One might compare this place more so to a Hell, to an underworld where those whose breath have halted are confined to live on. ...No. If the realm which every Navi existed was this 'cyberworld...' Then this was truly Hell. It is not like a Hell... It is Hell.
Silence.EXE: "'Interesting...' is relative. Tell me... What do you consider... 'interesting?'"
After all, what kind of person did willingly go to Hell with the hopes of finding their future?

"People who come here in search of some lost Romantic ideal are doomed to rest in peace here as well. Unless you know, and know well, what that "horrid thing" is, you best leave this place."
Megami smiled warmly in a nonchalant manner.
“That ‘horrid thing’ is precisely why I should be here,” the NetNavi spoke seeming to speak as if she had a shred of sanity behind that naïve smile of hers, “As far as I have heard from the justice of this world, that ‘thing’ resides in CreamLand. I have not gone there for the safety and concern of my Net Operator, and I have sworn I would do nothing to approach CreamLand’s Network, however, this dark and hell-ish place was not a part of our promise.”
Megami’s right hand slipped her index finger over her pink lips and pressed gently as if they were like fluff. Her innocent demeanor, even if foolish, was adorable showing her mischievous side. “I know it may be a risk, but I certainly do not want to let Xen-kun do things alone. That is why I have come here, and if this Ura BBS exists, then certainly it will give much information on CreamLand and this being and I nor he have reason to approach this problem personally at CreamLand. If the mission be for a fool, I must therefore be a fool for my loved ones.”
Megami was still having trouble comprehending things, and now, even love.
Here she stood thinking fondly of risking her life for the sake of trying to protect those two who meant some great deal of importance to her. Even looking upon the cloaked NetNavi who had seemed to give hints of him questioning her motive (with all the right reasons to check for sanity for that matter), she had seemed to not notice his tiring of her stubbornness. However, this was Megami in all her glory: a pure heart that was uncontained by and unstoppable by fear and logic (even though the latter was necessary at some point). She had looked from the cloaked NetNavi to the other to approach.
"So, find anything interesting?"
Megami’s smile this time had only half its full remorse for what she was thinking.
“Interesting? No. Helpful? Yes.” she had simply before straightening her posture and turning her face towards the NetNavi. Her arms were lowered and together her hands were reaching to her lap. Digit from digit, her fingers touched as Megami seemed to be in “that” pose: the pose for when she was about to make a request that could not be denied. “However, I would like to check this for myself, stranger NetNavi-san.” she had said trying to be formally polite to the NetNavi whom she had seldom to learn even a name from (less it was told and she forgot in all her whimsy), “I wish not to be responsible for someone’s safety, not only that but...” Megami had looked at the NetNavi as her big blue eyes had such a gentle sadness within them.
“This journey is simply for me.” she concluded.
