[bgcolor=black]Toward the center of the city, a solo navi touched down. Immediately he walked up the nearby wall/road, off to the slums. It was a familiar situation, reminiscent of a time long past spent in Netopia's literal underworld at the City of Bugs... now the old headquarters would be likely absorbed into the rest of the city. Probably for the better, too, given the amount of illicit evidence that was locked up in that place. The less of a trail he left these days, the better off his future would be. A self possessed grin shined in his crimson eyes and he chuckled as he observed the nearby crowds: Probably not the best way to stay under their radar. Staying contained was hard work.

Just as Thorn was pondering the significance of this strange device, a navi wearing a rebreather appeared nearby. He had a look and a sense about him that made it clear he was up to no good... how interesting. That made for two mysteries in the immediate vicinity, each rather tantalizing.
He spoke to Glassman once again. "As much as I'd love to destroy this machine, I believe we'd be missing a most interesting opportunity. What do you say? Shall we follow that stranger?"

Glassman glanced in the direction where the stranger had gone, slightly uneasy about just following someone with no good reason...
"And what opportunity would that be...?" Glassman asked,as Fernalius held a 'Let's GO!' sign in front of himself, pointing to it .
Despite his skepticism about following this random navi,in his mind he had the faint urge to do so...quite a faint urge, indeed.

Thorn nodded in agreement with his fellow virus, turning and motioning to Glassman and Fernalius to follow him. As silently as possible, he began tailing the strange navi, hiding behind the cover of corrupted data wherever possible.

Glassman sighed and followed as well, taking cover behind whatever he could use to not get detected.
As for Fernalius,he blended in with the shadows here and there, keeping himself out of sight.

[bgcolor=black]Overhead, the light blue Electopian background shimmered with amber glitches as he made his way deeper into the Kotobuki network, further toward the limits of the sky. Would the local authorities be capable of manipulating the area as well as he could? Probably not. Even in its heyday the ONB was purer than to use darkness and bugs. Toxin paused for a moment while trying to recall the whereabouts of that cafe, oblivious to the train behind him. Would the authorities be capable of navigating the area better than he could? Definitely. He would have to have the map uploaded to his file later, but after he found what he was looking for: The contact had said it was on no map but the server's own system... and so he could only go deeper. With a leap to the opposite pathway, the trail continued.
Minutes passed slowly, with every turn having to be a painstaking piece of guesswork. After cresting a ninety degree fall, he finally paused just over the edge and leaned over to the ground. "..." He whispered a nothing, and a single sliver of his shadow broke away, stealing to a nearby alley.

A female NetNavi looked around her surroundings as she took another turn, holding her digital assistant in one hand. The device beeped on occasion, indicating a stronger signal of her query. She had been tasked with finding some historical sites within the Kotobuki Network, for reasons unknown. She only knew that the query had found its way to her, and she couldn't resist the chance to go exploring this ruined section of the network, as well as a chance to discover bits and pieces of digital history. She pressed her glasses further up the bridge of her nose before proceeding again, looking around for something. Apparently, her source told her that there was some kind of secret base or cafe in this vicinity, but it was her job to actually FIND it's location.
What was suspicious about this whole thing was the fact that this section of the network seemed to be devoid of 'life' in the relative sense, not to mention the client and source had expressively asked for total anonymity during her query and search. They had even gone so far as to ask her to keep the information to herself until she could disclose it to her client. Apparently, the information was important enough that she wasn't technically allowed to share it with others, which bothered her slightly. She had never had a request quite like this one before, but she resolved to be as discreet as possible.
Though, discreet for InfoSearch.EXE was something of a relative term. She was clumsy on occasion, sometimes knocking into things by accident or pushing things over that made a boisterous sound. She thought she could hear footsteps on occasion, but when she looked around at her surroundings, there was no one there. She resisted the urge to draw her pistol, her other hand shaking slightly from nervousness and fear. She took a deep breath to calm herself, trying her best to convince her mind that no one was following her, before continuing with her search. She'd find that place sooner or later...

Having been lost in thought in his flight, Phenoix seemed to have lost Genesis, whom's signal he'd followed for a time, but then later lost. Having flown all the way to the Kotobuki Network from Sharo, he set down to rest for a time. Upon reaching the street level, he recognized a strong, very familiar stench about. He had only experienced it a few times before, but such a stench is not easily forgotten. He knew who was in this network, likely close by. His time for rest would have to be cut short. Taking to the skies once again, he stayed as low as he could, scouring the city for the navi he knew to be here. After a short time of looking, he found him. Touching down close by, Phenoix walked near the toxic navi, the stench even more powerful now, but not unbearable. He knew not what the navi was here for, regardless, to Phenoix, he was a dangerous darkloid.
"Been quite a while, I haven't seen you since the battle with Eon. I see your stench hasn't changed however."
[OOC: Governor Tarkin, I'd recognize your foul stench anywhere]

[bgcolor=black]((Charming to the last, princess. Also, *"whose" (possessive) or "whom he had followed and lost" (objective))) "...and yet... it hasn't been long enough." he whispered to himself. Bearing a glare, the poisonous navi stood and turned his head to the fiery lightmonger. Each breath he took was exasperated, as though he were already tired of the encounter. "You smell of even more righteousness... I'm busy. Go bother someone else." Of course, this had to happen as soon as the ONB took back its badges.====== Elsewhere, sitting in a hole-in-the-wall cafe with only a handful of other silent navis that had the gall to dive into it, a navi with bandages over his eyes and mouth adjusted his hood with equally bandaged hands. He had been waiting in this way for five minutes longer than he should have had to and was beginning to be concerned. Everyone here was waiting for something, staring (or aiming their head at) the shreds of paper that covered the entryway, and he could only hope that none of them were waiting for the same navi he was.

"Busy with what I wonder, with you nothing can be taken lightly. The new ONB administration may have a would-be iron hold on the networks, but their eyes do not see everything. Though I do not agree with their methods, the least I can do for the network's safety is keep tabs on one such as yourself."
Phenoix clearly had no intention of leaving so easily, though not having known Toxin for a while, his form reeked of poison, and more importantly, Darkness. A powerful darkness that left unchecked could spell the end for the network, or any form of peace that Phenoix often hoped and fought for.

Glassman sensed someone else nearby, yet he could also tell that their target was a fair distance away....perhaps a little farther away than he hoped...
The navi they were looking for definitely seemed suspicious, but at the same time he hadn't done anything on a 'criminal' level...as far as they knew, anyway.
Fernalius thought he picked up something odd in the shadows, but dismissed it,continuing forward on what seemed to be the correct trail.

[bgcolor=black]With a snarl Toxin turned fully to his new annoyance. At the same time, a small shadow darted over to his own: He leaned his head to the side to listen to something, then held his arms out and put full attention on Phenoix. "You pretend you know me...? Huh... but please, let me humor you... You speak of the new ONB's eyes? ...They aren't even on protection or *cough* the people they should be protecting... or on the thousands suddenly retired by them. They didn't even speak of compensation to their former workforce: Crime's about to go on a rise because of the ONB... and yet here you are harassing someone on a walk. Help someone get a job. I'm one of the responsible of those retired and had a job lined up."
He chuckled as he let his hands down and struck a much more casual stance. "If you want to keep being naive and protect networks, stop talking and start doing. You can leave me the hell alone. If you need to know what I'm busy with... it's none of your business... and has nothing to do with the things I used to be associated with." He growled once more and turned away from the lightmonger, giving a single wave of a darkly shrouded hand in dismissal as he began to walk away... and then stopped. "If you really want to follow... you can meet the navi... but you can't stay."

InfoSearch continued on her way, occasionally thinking she heard something, but after stopping and listening for a moment, the sound was gone. She grimaced, a bead of sweat running down the side of her face as her eyes darted around, analyzing her surroundings. Once again, no one was near her, yet she couldn't shake this looming feeling that she was probably in the wrong place at the wrong time. She tried to calm herself down, speaking in low tones of encouragement to herself as she continued to walk amongst some of the ruined buildings. Her gadget continued to register a ping, notifying her that she was still on the right path.
However, that was apparently about to change. She thought she heard something again, so she spun around quickly, only to trip on her own left foot, causing her to fall and land against a wall. Or rather, what looked like a wall. Her body fell through it, causing dust and debris to kick up into the air, which put her into a coughing fit, fumbling around for her digital device. She blinked a few times, clearing the dust from her eyes so she could at least see. She located the gadget beside her and picked it up as she stood up from her rather unglamorous fall. However, when her eyes looked up to see the contents of the building she had more-or-less fallen into, she blinked repeatedly again.
"Uhhhh...Hi?"

Thorn had ducked into this building to keep out of sight as he observed the toxic navi and his apparent rival several minutes ago. He was taking great pains to be quiet and discreet, stepping carefully as he worked his way over to the window...
And then some clumsy navi fell through the brittle wall and made a huge noise. She crashed to the floor with a bang, looking up timidly as she introduced herself. Thorn was shocked and startled, turning to this new arrival with a sense of alarm and urgency.
"You're going to get us killed!" he shouted, far too loudly.

Glassman muttered under his breath as he heard Thorn shout from nearby. This put him on alert.
Even though his ally didn't seem to be in trouble from the sound of things,if the one they were following proved to be hostile in response to being trailed...things would possibly get messy...very quickly.
Moving quickly and yet stealthily,Glassman darted through an alleyway, making a few quick turns until he was hidden in the shadows adjacent from Thorn and the girl navi. Fernalius had managed to keep up,staying concealed as well.
