In the most expected response when it comes to Xenneth, the moment the woman looked at him, was obvious...
He grabbed the professor’s daughter and hid behind her. Hand placement at this point was not even a thought: her right shoulder and left him were like his grasp for a shield, and not to mention that her hair was like a therapeutic relaxer at this point with how close he used her head as a ground against the woman’s glare. He peeked over slightly to still see Feint as she spoke, all the while remembering her features just so he could enter in his mind what her name was.
Code name: Crazy &!%$#!
The violet haired boy was not sure about this all of a sudden. After hearing the random tangent from the woman, it brought him out of confusion and into a press of fear. He still did not even know these people, but yet, they were yelling, barking orders, and talking about sneaking into a building! At this point, remembering Serix, the violet haired boy could only infer one thing: that they were all Net Operators, and the crazy one was some kind of lunatic with a gun that you would see in the action movies.
“This is unreal!” he thought, “This is not happening! Now, I just want to go home!”
Either way, Xenneth knew what he wanted to know now. The building was open, the girl with the EM Dampner was right before him, and then there was this group of Net Operators who most likely were being led by...the crazy woman? The crazy NetNavi? Did it matter at this point? Xenneth just wanted to try his best to make amends about what he done! He was not in the mood for trying to get shot by some lunatic with a complex that reminded you of those...corny...Gigamerica action movies! Who was she anyway?!
So go in alone...or with the friendly psycho with the gun?
Psycho...
Alone....
Psycho...?
Alone...?
“Umm...” Xenneth whispering as Feint bee-lined for the front door. His hand slid down the young woman’s arm tugging her lightly to come. He did not know why! He wanted her to go home anyway! “...w-we’ll just...follow her for now. Please, just...help me?”
Even if he was scared, Xenneth stared at the young woman with him with a fear in his eyes that was intense. More so than his fear of Feint. Something within was pushing him to go into that building, and it was more frightening to him than death-by-tight-suit-wearing-psychopath.

...well,that certainly went downhill FAST...
'It's good to know she has experience under her belt, but geez...!' Shakeem thought to himself.
Giving others 'permission' to talk likely wouldn't be well-received, neither would telling everyone to 'shut their mouths'.
As Cherish walked ahead of them, Shakeem turned to the group with a bit of concerned expression.
"Sorry everyone, she means well...but we really do need to be extra careful in this place." he stated, trying to diffuse whatever anger might've started rising from Cherish's harsh words.
Looking toward Xenneth,Shakeem shook his head.
"Some of us only just collaborated in Element City moments ago to help save your navi from Caliga's power...I'm sure that's enough info, right Xenneth?" he explained.
Hopefully,he'd figure things out from that alone...
Turning to face the facility, Shakeem walked after Cherish at a brisk pace. It wouldn't help for any of them to be separated before the work even began.

“You’re...NetOperators of..those Navis?”
Emphasis on ‘those’ expressed Xenneth’s astonishment. He knew that these were Net Operators the moment the young woman snapped, but he had no idea! Just the mention of it made his fingers etch deeper as he gripped...well...the young woman still. He had felt so rotten at that moment it did not register in his mind that he was still holding on to her. Staring at the ground, violet hairs had fallen to the side of Xenneth’s face partially curtaining his expression.
“I thought I was risking my life and paying all those NetNavis back going at this alone,” Xenneth thought, “Here they have Net Operators too who step out of their houses and do this kind of stuff. Maybe even longer! Am I that...helpless?”
Their expressions on their faces told Xenneth something at a glance before his eyes fallen in shame. They clearly had done this a while. Maybe even longer! Heck, how many times did these people step out their comfort zone to do something like helping NetNavis who caused mass destruction by putting their own at risk, using their own bodies to save the world by, or even just rescued someone like him.
At that moment, Xenneth felt less in more than a person, but in every way.

Xenneth's 'girlfriend' went stiff as she became a cling pillow for the boy's silly fear of silly ladies. Blushing a little, she couldn't help but laugh at Feint's speech. Walk in, walk out, okey dokey boss!
Trying to keep her snickering to a minimum, the cutesy girl held Xenneth's hand as he dragged her away. At this point she really didn't have much choice in the matter, as much as she'd like to knock Feint's clock off - she resisted the urge.
She badly wanted to pull rank. DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!? I AM THE DAUGHTER OF THE MOST RESPECTED DOCTOR IN THIS SIDE OF THE EARTH! - but she decided that her anonymity might be a benefit this time, especially with whatever 'secret research' these folks were doing, it seemed cool.
Time to dive in then!

Every word out of Cherish's mouth only angered Sara more. The real breaking point, though, was when she waved a gun in everyone's face. As soon as cherish turned and entered the building, Sara made a mad dash and attempted to tackle her straight into a wall. In the event that this succeeded, she would then start pummeling the black clad woman. While Serix sent a message to Shakeem to pull her off.__________________________________________ "From here, things can only get better." __________________________________________________ Current Music: My Thoughts:

AS Xenneth and his 'girlfriend' advanced forth,he noticed Sara dash after Cherish - in a 'mad' dash,to say the least.
'I don't think so-!' Shakeem thought as he dashed after Sara and restrained her by grabbing her wrists, holding her arms behind her with as much control as he could muster. Not enough to even be considered as hurting her though.
She would've reached Cherish otherwise...but he had to try and keep the group from killing each other,if possible.
"Listen,I know what she said was harsh and may have pushed all the wrong buttons, but we don't have time for fighting each other-! Every moment counts here...it'd be a waste of energy to let words turn us against one another..." he said, trying to reason with the ticked off woman, keeping his grip on her wrists.
"So, please calm down. We're all in this together." Shakeem spoke. He really hoped Sara wasn't totally blinded by her own rage...

Standing by as Cherish gives her oration, Jameson does his best to hide a smirk. She certainly was wound up. Though, he couldn't really blame her, sobering up to their situation as he looks up at the building before them.
Catching up after the altercation prevented by Shakeem, he considers weighing in on the subject. Instead he shoots Sara a stern look and shakes his head, walking to catch up to Cherish.

“What am I to do?”
He had noticed the tension, but it was only after he had snapped out of his own delirium. The violet haired boy had felt helpless looking to the Net Operators and then to himself seeing how he paled in comparison. The distance between them was pathetic! However, with one thought that crossed his mind as he looked at the few outside after the bitters-…well…better tone of the Net Operator. Xenneth let go of the young woman’s arm, rushing ahead before Shakeem and Sara. Quickly, he tossed his body forth bowing submissively before them.
“T-THANK YOU!” his squeal so sudden, “I-I mean…thank you! Y-you both…helped me a lot earlier…because…w-well…you helped Megami, and she means a lot to me! I-if it were not because of you helping…I-I’m not sure…what I would be doing here. B-but I am here now and I want to help no matter what and…uh…well…”
His body picked up as he seemed to be at a loss of words. His fingers twiddling, Xenneth looked off to his left as he seemed embarrassed. With his cheeks flushing red, the violet haired boy thrust his arms back as if for one more declaration.
“W-well nothing else matters! I-I just want to make everyone happy!”
The fighting was trivial, he knew this. However, he could imagine how they felt. The moment Xenneth was yelled at, he felt like when bullies picked on him at school or made fun of him saying he was not good enough. For someone who delivered flowers every day and made people happy, he at least liked to think he mattered to someone. It was a terrible feeling that made him question his own worth at times.
Xenneth thought maybe it was the least he could do for Shakeem and Sara…to show that someone appreciates their efforts, instead of someone else making them feel like he did: like he was garbage.

If Cherish's words made Sara angry, then the fact that she didn't even turn around to acknowledge her 'attack' would have flared her up even more. And she continued ignoring them as Shakeem intercepted Sara and Xenneth made his speech.
Cherish proceeded into the building. No real plan could be made at this point. Not only were they expected to be here, but whatever lie they could muster up to get passed security would be untold just by their appearance, if not simply by what Feint was wearing. A spy-esque clad woman followed by a group of kids looked more like a field trip than a team of researchers.
Sneaking into the facility was futile. She couldn't stress enough to herself that these people knew she was coming, and even if they didn't, security would be so tight that there was no possible way six humans could just waltz in undetected. It was highly unlikely that even one person could.
Overthinking the situation was what led to losing control over it. The simple fact was that they needed to reach their destination and there was no "easy" way available. Better to walk in expecting failure than to try to outsmart the enemy and end up playing right into their hands unknowingly, leading to an unexpected failure.
At least they knew what was coming in the first scenario and could consequently plan ahead. Sometimes the "foolish" decision was the best one, after all. It was a better gamble than the alternative.
Walking through the front door, she took a look around. She didn't present herself as a threat when she entered, but it wasn't hard to tell that she stood out. What was she looking for?
A pathway. A person. A map. Or any form of lead to follow.
The only benefit she had was that the enemy didn't know she was their enemy yet, but maybe just a lost soul stumbling where they didn't intend to. At least she looked somewhat innocent this way, as opposed to being caught by a surveillance camera "sneaking in".
Now what of her attitude toward the others? Why such harshness, such shortness of patience. Why so intolerant?
Because they were her sheep now, and she their shepherd. Not a leader, but a protector. After all, she was the only one with this sort of experience. She was the only one with a gun.
The very words she used as threats were the facts that made her accountable for their safety. Humans don't just "reconstruct" themselves like Navis; the danger here was more real than what any of them were used to.
But it wasn't nobleness that motivated her speech (clearly). Like a parent scolding a child, it was her fear of their lack of understanding. If a child went to touch a hot stove, it'd be foolish to stand by and let them burn their hand so that they'd "learn their lesson".
Fortunately, their opinions of her seemed to be exactly where she wanted them. Cherish didn't want these people to think she actually "cared" about them; she hardly wanted to believe that herself. But remaining silent and letting them go forward and fail would have been a true act of harshness against them. Spitting in their faces and taking the reigns at least prevented the "thank you" that she didn't want to receive for saving them from a "burnt hand".
And like children, they probably wouldn't understand, but that was fine. In her metaphor from before, it didn't matter whether they feared the burn or whether they feared the scorn whenever they looked at the stove, as long as they feared something enough not to touch it then she had succeeded.
Even if she did go a tad overboard with said scorn.
(OOC: Yeeaaah, sorry again for her attitude. I can't call her a jerk-character if she's never a jerk though.)

Shakeem raised his head to look towards Xenneth as he stood before them. He wasn't sure what to make of the young man's movements & such; but once he began to speak and thank them, his feelings were a bit more easily discernible.
As Xenneth finished, Shakeem smiled, the guy had good intentions, to say the least. He could see that similarity for sure.
"Hey,there's nothing wrong with wanting to make everyone happy..." he began, looking toward the building shortly after he paused. "But to get even a little close to achieving such a goal,we have to do our part here."
"Though I'm not sure if we're all willing to do that..." Shakeem said, addressing Sara with his statement. He contemplated letting her go,but not if she was going to charge Cherish yet again.

Sara was getting worn out from struggling. After a minute or so, she took in what he and Xen had to say.
"Alright, I'll deal with her after this is over."
While she didn't like Cherish, she couldn't let her emotions distract her from their mission.
"Oh, and it's kinda funny how she thinks this girl is your girlfriend. Though, if she is, Serix and I might have to tell someone about that, and I doubt that she would understand."
That last bit was aimed at Xen, just to poke a bit of fun at him as she forced herself out of Shakeem's grip and walked into the building.

Well,at least that was over...now they could get back on track-! As for the woman's plotting,he didn't ignore Sara's future plans...
He silently hoped that she wouldn't cause any actual trouble...but that would certainly have to wait,he supposed. For now, they had a task to accomplish...
Not looking back, Shakeem enters the building, doing his best to steel himself for whatever danger lies ahead of them...

“Wait! It’s not-”
It was not when they entered the building that what he had to say was a waste of words, but rather the moment he begun to explain himself. Xenneth’s dilemma was on his mind the moment the tragedy in Element City occurred. He tried to not think about it much, but how could he not? He had to acknowledge to truth about Megami and her feelings towards him, and he hoped they were at least taking a step towards actually talking about it.
Trivial worries now, but something dire down the line. Xenneth shook his head, ridding him of the thoughts.
He reached for the young woman’s hand once more, prompting her to follow along and keep close considering her EM Dampner was the only thing keeping him safe, and his own body saving her seeing he was not convinced she could fend for herself. Entering the building behind the crew, he had stayed behind them as he was very conflicted about their “mission.”

As the group talks among themselves, a set of windows open up; one for each PET, with TornadoMan's image appearing on each.
TornadoMan: Thank you all for coming. I'm not going to candy-coat it, this is not going to be easy and it's not going to be entirely safe. But in the end, we can all hope that it will be worth it. As some, if not all of you have guessed, we're heading into the old Gospel servers. Your Navis can fill you in as to why, but that's why you are going to need the Magno Metal.
This is going to be a two-sided mission. I know that a lot of you may be used to your Navis doing most of the work, but this time we need you as much as you need us. And it starts now.
TornadoMan accesses the server, causing the door to the mangled apartment building at the center of the area to open up.
TornadoMan: Please plug in your PETs and jack as many of us out as you can. Then get us to the top floor of this building. There should be a room full of servers there, and that's where we need to go.
Still connected, TornadoMan looks over his shoulder to the others.
TornadoMan: Alright everyone, get ready to jack out!

Cherish had held the door open and stood there as TornadoMan made his announcement. She still got her "look around" from before, but she wasn't fully inside just yet as he chimed in on the others' PETs.
"Well, you heard the guy. Your time to shine, 'heroes'."
Her usual sarcastic tone wasn't absent as she'd said that. She didn't turn around to look at the group as she spoke though, she just continued holding the door and looking forward into the building as she stood in the frame.
Was she having second thoughts? Was she just waiting for the others?
It wasn't clear, but she wasn't budging. Something was obviously on her mind, but it'd be pretty foolish for any of those present to ask what it was, given her past display of character. For now, it'd be best that they just did what they were told and then proceed to the top floor of this building.
