There it was, the proof of why the powerlessness was felt. Many would say they understood what it was like, being unable to do anything. But Gemini wasn't one of those unenlightened masses. It could have been reasoned that he acted out of arrogance or ignorance to the fact, but he had acted in spite of the reality presented to him. There had been no need to drive any humans away from the epicenter. As Faith and Warrior had discovered before this all played out, that had long since been taken care of with absolute certainty. That was when the black figure made itself known save for the red eyes to take heed from. Small in stature but intended for so much more than the meager showing was intended to reveal. It only detailed where true cruelty lied. Why else would anyone aim for a child, one that could so easily swing on a pendulum from one extreme to the next on a whim if wisdom wasn't used to keep them in check? There was another child who also lashed out when their favorite toy was denied from them, and that child stood defeated and led around by a rather similar leash as Moon Disaster did now.
The one that held the reins on that other child was this more effective one here. One that sought peace by what could be said to be any means necessary. Gemini didn't speak, not until after he was forced back, and the surge of pain was being conducted on the whims of Gamma now that there was nothing else between them.
"An eternity to regret my stupidity? Wouldn't be the first time."
What that meant was entirely unclear. It was like a blank canvas in regard to that statement. But it wasn't important. What mattered was answering the inquiry given to him.
"Peace? That's never what I sought. If I can feel your anger, you can feel what I want, can't you? What satisfies me is the exact opposite. And even that is a falsehood. So go ahead and give me something for testing you. If your intention is to stop me, then keep your word. I will try as many times as I can otherwise."

Moon Disaster watched the back and forth for a moment, listening to Gemini and then being slightly surprised when Gamma showed up to defend him. He didn't ask Gamma to do that, nor did he expect Gamma to risk himself by appearing out here.
He grimaced at the reality of it all, knowing that Gamma was being exposed, and he was in danger because of it. Still, with Gemini here, and a few of his compatriots showing elsewhere, they were in pretty dire straits. He needed to get some answers, and it seemed that Gemini's usual language wasn't possible while Gamma was playing, too.
Before Gemini unleashed his thunder, Moon Disaster didn't even looked concerned, even before Gamma made it clear he was in control
"Yo, yo, Gamma, take it slow - there might be a Human on board taking a beating, yo," Moon Disaster warned, stepping up off the wave platform and jumping up, slowly floating closer to the Earth as he descended.
"You're right, though, yo. I was a wish on a shooting star, but not from this reality. A memory, yo, carried over for a wish come true." He paused for a moment in his descent, evidently not responding to gravity like normal, as he turned to look at Gamma. "The once proud general has some important information for us, yo! He won't talk if he isn't allowed to play, it's just the way he dances, yo, for sho'. I can tango with him a bit, fair and square.
"Gamma, yo, get on out of here. Maybe step in if I look in a bad place? Stop anyone else from coming in unannounced, yo? We need answers, and you got the power to hold him in check, yo, that's a fact, but you don't have the strength of character to do anything he'd be scared of, yo."

As Moon Disaster makes his plea to not act against Gemini, the eyes of the shadowed figure that Gamma now communicates with widen, and then disappear entirely. He goes silent for a moment, and then a quiet, pained voice rises.
Gamma: ...what have you done...?
With the eyes of the visage still missing, Gamma takes yet another step towards Gemini, his presence growing even stronger as he does so.
Gamma: I'm sorry, Mr. Moon; there is no human here... the soul that we're looking at probably made sure of that... didn't you, Mr. Gemini?
Gamma's presence looms, as if staring through Gemini's very being as the blackened form becomes eerily still.
Gamma: You're finished, Mr. Gemini. You might want to answer whatever Mr.Moon has to ask and say your peace, because this will be the last time that you ever get to talk freely with anyone ever again.
Gamma's visage takes a single step to the side, yet still somewhat in front of Moon Disaster in order to display his intent to protect his friend. However, this also makes it clear that he has no intent to grant Moon Disaster's wish to be alone with the dual-minded psychopath.

Moon Disaster didn't want to have to be so forward with his friend, so, as Gamma continued to threaten Gemini - recognizing that Gemini had caused all the harm here - Moon Disaster had to float closer to him, carefully looking at him from the side.
"Gamma, yo - You saw what these guys did to Sirius' Black Hole, yo. You're complex, fo'sho', but you give them more to work with the more you're here, yo. Anyone able to clash with Sirius is serious business, Gamma. Taking Gemini in, yo, it will be you're undoing, I know it, yo."

He didn't confirm or deny whether he was the one who saw to the human soul that they sought here. That unstable factor that usually would work rather well with him was missing still. That deranged mind was the most fitting piece to go with him, but whatever details that involved was lost to time.
"For a Disaster, you certainly worry too much. Isn't this one the one responsible for what happened to the Black Hole? Then he should be serious business as well. You were there to witness all of that, or were you too distracted with your silly rhetoric? Either way, the only thing I have to tell Moon Disaster is that his days are numbered. The moment he takes another unannounced step, he'll wish he suffered everything that I did instead. That's all I have to say."
He had nothing else to say on the matter. Gamma knew better than to leave Moon Disaster here alone with him and to take matters into his own hands. After that was simply letting the Moon Disaster know that he was now little more than a pet on a very short leash. How he decided to take that information and apply himself to that leash was another matter that no longer concerned him. Now was just seeing whether Gamma could make good on his word or not, as Gemini would make good on his if he was allowed.

The Disaster narrowed his gaze at Gemini's warning, wondering just what the adversaries had accomplished to put such bravado into the general. While Gemini was surely a powerful being, Moon Disaster knew how to contend with him; at least, knew how to contend with him before whatever the adversaries had accomplished. The Disaster himself wasn't quite like other Wave Beings from this timeline, set aside even from the others that bore the title of Sigma, but even he had to admit that he had his limits.
". . . We need to retreat, Gamma," the Moon Disaster said simply. "Whatever this guy's got, yo, tangoing with him won't go well, no, yo."
The Moon Disaster lifted up as easily as he had arrived, still believing himself capable of destroying the Gemini twins if he desired, but not wanting to test the waters for fear of being wrong. Gemini wasn't incorrect - he, for a being of his power, was quite cautious. The nature of his calling was different, of course. The disaster he brought had to be well measured for what it was intended. Rising up, he turned, and with a flash, departed, hopefully with Gamma not far behind.

...and then Moon Disaster left.
The shadowed form of Gamma takes a step back from Gemini, pausing for a moment. Since he first came online, he'd been taught many things, and he'd seen many things. But this was the first time that he was truly left with a choice all his own, and he was suddenly beginning to realize this.
Gate had given him every reason to be confident, and he'd used that confidence while confronting Gemini; this unholy being that now stands as a threat before him... he had confidence in his ability to handle this situation, but Moon Disaster's words give him pause; is this confidence... a bad thing to have right now?
Doubt and uncertainty; these were concepts that he knew about, but that Gate had never actually given him reason to consider. His own soul said that he could handle this, that he could step forward and stop this threat now... but what if Moon Disaster knew more about this? What if he was right? Could he really afford to risk his new friends in an impulsive act, no matter how right it seems?
...Gamma takes another step back, wavering like a child in front of Gemini. He'd given these threats, so he had to follow through with them, otherwise he'd be showing weakness, right? Gamma couldn't let Gemini win, what would this sparking psychopath think? That he could just do what he wants? No, this monster has to pay for what he's done, for what he will do.
...but what happens if he does?
The small figure's hands clench and fold in front of his chest, and soon he takes another step away from Gemini, now obviously intimidated by this whole situation and confused. He looks around quickly, surveying the area for anyone or anything else... but soon he can't continue faltering, he can't continue wondering. Now honestly a bit afraid, the form of Gamma dissipates and disappears, leaving Gemini alone without a word.

A step back. That was the sign that said all that needed to be said in the silence that hung between them in the climatic moments after the Moon Disaster had left them. Many would say that it was throwing empty threats if one did not follow through with them, even if they had the power to see them through. Others could say that it was showing proper caution in the face of someone who wasn't cowed by the threats when other unknown factors were at play. That was what allowed for doubt and uncertainty; the unknown. And as Gamma's form dissipated and disappeared to leave Gemini all alone, the words of the sparking menace would ring out again to the emptiness.
"...The mission was a failure. ...No, I understand the consequences. ...I'll see it done."
For the psychotic it wouldn't be surprising if one were to say that they were speaking to themselves. It could simply be written off as another side effect of a broken psyche. And yet if the individual wasn't psychotic, what then? With a flash, Gemini departed the location. The lake was left empty... right? The uncertainty that hung in the air would like all else dissipate over time. But if it hadn't been empty, if they hadn't been alone, then what else had been there with them? That was an uncertainty that would have to remain unanswered. They had their warning at least. What they did with it was up to them now.

...and, yet, the scene still wasn't quite over yet.
Not far from where Gemini and Gamma had just had their stand-off, it appears as though the color drains from a small area of the lake. The monochromatic location then darkens, and soon after the reality of this isolated spot seems to outright crack as if it were glass. In its wake, a black and purple "hole" appears, outlined with a blocky shape that appears distinctly digital. And then, from this hole, a single red eye peers out. Slinking out from the anomaly, a familiar black-and-gold creature with a body and arms that appear similar to strands of DNA emerges. It drifts over to the point where Gemini had just been as the hole that it emerged from closes, probes the area with the golden spikes that tip its "arms", and looks to the sky. Then it appears to slowly collapse under its own weight, melting into the ground as its eye never wavers, still looking into the heavens until its last moment of existence.
