The eeriness of the surroundings, coupled with his silence, were definitely a change in pace. StrifeMan stared down the barrel of her gun as she held her hand up against him, and the crazed look in his eye didn't even waver; he didn't even smile or laugh at her as she trained the barrel on him. Her shot unleashed and resonated through the space, and he placed one hand over the barrel. Each blast emptied into his palm, but StrifeMan dropped the bullets onto the ground, seemingly no wound on his body.
His face dangerously close to hers, he stared into her eyes, his own wild and dangerous, as he vanished like a wraith into nothingness. The trenches his assaults had torn into the ground, the dark emanations that floated in the air, the ash that followed his dances, and even the dark moon in the sky twisted with malevolent intent, as the ground erupted, the sky opened up in storm, and the darkness all around twisted inward, trying to overwhelm Feint from every direction at once.

With his face coming close to hers, Feint thrust her forehead violently forward as if to headbutt him for deigning to draw so close, but Strifeman had vanished just before her skull would have made impact with his jaw.
Her mindset was much more stable and focused now that his silence wasn't invoking her absolutely necessary retorts. The bullets of her last barrage had about as much impact as a spitball to a brickwall, but she wasn't discouraged -- she'd just be sure not to aim for the hand that caught them with her next clip.

Again, she fired at him, and StrifeMan reached out with one hand. A luminous font of energy ventured outward from his grasp, and an apparition flitted through the darkness all the same. StrifeMan emerged before Feint, untouched, with the intent to continue to destroy her.
She would find that his strikes would no longer attempt to move through her defenses, and rather attempt to push through them outright, as he crashed energy against the energy that was used to stop his assault, the energy in the air continuing to rise into an overwhelming crescendo.

This time when he struck against her, he could see the slightest shift of confidence in her eyes, almost showing signs of worry for the first time.

She was decent at hiding it, but he'd known that he'd finally figured out the answer to her protection. Unfortunately for him, his improper swings against it throughout the fight had accumulated into that protection being exponentially bolstered by now: she could force him to push through it whether he knew better to or not at this point. It was dense enough to endure as much as he could throw and her weapon was empowered enough to finish him off as long as she kept firing it.

StrifeMan did notice, but it seemed to be too little too late, indeed. Even his ability to maneuver fate was wavering, and Feint was still no closer to being defeated. Maneuvering as a shadow in and out of her line of sight, StrifeMan moved from all angles to capitalize on his discovery while he still had time.

She had this in the bag now, her determined eyes inadvertently filling with pride as her victory had all been but assured. His attacks bounced off of her body with no significant signs of impact and she'd locked in on his position now, his life was just a finger curl away from being claimed.

The shot she fired... wasn't lethal. Instead, it'd just bind Strifeman in place so that he couldn't pursue her, though after the binding wore off, perhaps he'd be able to find use out of that bullet himself in future encounters.

She could respect that he fought on to the bitter end, but having taken everything into consideration now, she was mostly just fortunate that he hadn't recognized her paradigm sooner. With everything said and done, she took her leave before the binding wore off, having concluded the trial.
