"While a pictureless book is fine if one can read the novel that it entails, some require the picture to be drawn out in order to follow the story that it illustrates. Or in simpler terms, it means to say that details are needed to properly discern which page of the book that we're on."
Even if there were some here who would be fine making an uninformed decision or often times had no choice in order to do so and even if it was supposed to be a bit of snark that was said just in general in the eyes of most. The fact that they weren't quick to open fire would be good since it meant that they could speak with Edge without any trouble when he would show up, though she wouldn't say that it was out of the blue for him to be here. He even asked Faith to go back and meet with someone she knew, and Faith would do so while hoping that Vanguard and Genesis didn't devolve into throwing blows instead of just barbs. She would still let the two draw their own conclusions about the fact Edge was here, or just Genesis if Vanguard still was unaware of Edge's overall presence. Plus this was more a debate between Vanguard and Genesis, so she didn't need to add to that for the 'You scratch my back, I scratch yours'.
"I think it's a little hard for it to be a national holiday when some people practice it as a daily event."
But some people were pranksters all year long. And some would take the pranks rather far like adding gasoline to an ongoing fire that others would be trying to put out. That was obviously just a minor offense in the grand scheme of things that could happen if it were a national holiday, but she figured that some people would prefer if things were chaotic and a bit more fun instead of the constant doom and gloom of the current reality.
"I don't speak for everyone but I at least don't have any such plans, sorry to say."

Through his visor, Edge looks to Mistair with a dead-pan expression, slowly raising an eyebrow more and more as she speaks until it threatens to shed its mortal coil and launch into the eternal unknown above.
Edge: ....uh-huh....
Edge then looks to the group and motions to Mistair with his head.
Edge: Calling it now; she's going to kill us all. I vote we evict her from our group.

Faith's rendition of events was at least more descriptive than Genesis', giving him a better idea of what had transpired. So, they had gone to handle something on the physical world end, then? He gathered the importance behind the Soul Net from what he knew of the technology from his own research and studies, to say nothing of the organizations that were connected to it. The additional information on the Soul Net was a dud, too, which was somewhat disappointing.
As for Genesis' return on his own situation, he made a pretty demanding, but ultimately understandable, call. The potential risk of Var's current situation would perseverate across every decision and interaction they had moving forward, which would serve to reason trading that risk in return for the acceptance of Genesis' own decisions and interactions moving forward. Still, something set badly in his stomach at the thought; a pragmatist and a realist, Vanguard knew that the words on their own could be innocent enough, but the choice of justifying all of his actions, without question, made him weary. The potential of being expected to allow not just risky or even morally dubious decisions, but outright unacceptable and vile decisions was not lost on him.
"For now, I think its the best course of action to continue to work together," he agrees simply, following through with Genesis' logic, agreeing to the premise without directly saying he was entirely okay with its implications.
That was when another figure, almost as exuberant and outlawish as Faith's navi, steps onto the scene, rambling nonsensically and requesting her presence. Faith doesn't make too much trouble of going off towards his summons, and he makes some pretty outlandish claims and requests, and watching Mistair keep pace with his antics was at least entertaining, but his assertion regarding Mistair's intentions were most certainly not.
"I also have no plans on that route; again, sorry to disappoint. As for the other note; you're free to have that opinion, I suppose, but I can pick my own allies," he responds curtly, casting his attention away from the impossible eyebrow and back towards Genesis.
"The next step seems to be to follow through on our issue with the moon, then; see if there is anyway to get there," he reasons, looking at Mistair. She didn't say that she knew a way there, but she also didn't go out of her way to confirm that she didn't, which made him wonder. Still, they may be within the unfortunate zone of her inactivity, again, given how much she just had to expend to get them back here. "Either that, or check to see if there's anyone nearby in need."

*With all the mayhem happening everywhere he would have assumed Edge would be using it to add more to the chaos in his own unique way as he often was prone to do. It made it rather unsurprising that Edge and Embera were often together given it magnified their chaotic elements as a result. But it made sense given he was here to deliver a message for Faith who was on transit, who would be on her way to learn what that was about next. Though while Edge was joking, he couldn't help but give a retort that one probably should expect from him given his particular record with a smirk on his face.*
"We both know I led the Revolution once. It is still something I would do if I saw the need to do so again."
*After all, if they were morally unacceptable in his eyes then he would take the actions he best saw fit to rectify that very regime. He knew well what he was working against this time just as they did... so he knew exactly what he would need to do in order to see his actions through to fruition if he had to do just that himself. And who knew? Maybe that national holiday would be an acceptable addition when the dust settled. That aside, it was good enough for now that Vanguard was willing to comply reasonably given his own standing right now, plus the fact that evicting one no doubt meant evicting both would at least be made clear for anyone who was curious about it. Vanguard trusted her implicitly, which only made sense given she hadn't done him any wrong. Where he sat on that spectrum was something he kept to himself and for others to speculate as they saw fit, which meant seeing to their discovery of those coordinates took their priority instead. And if he didn't phone a friend, he could see if they couldn't phone an enemy instead.*
"If we want to find a way there, our best bet would be the NIA. Otherwise we can focus our efforts on a bit of further investigation, as I was just going to look around and see if I discovered anything in the ruined remains of their constant targets. If we help anyone nearby along the way, that is fine too."

He certainly was an expressive one, wasn't he? His eyebrows wanted to leave him but couldn't because they were no doubt just as comically shackled to the mortal coil as he was. But she couldn't help but trade one last barb with the chain of events before they would move on to other things. So she would slowly lift her arm as she would bring a finger to her lips, as if to say it was something of a hushed matter that she was about to discuss.
"I don't think I'm going to kill you all. After all, if we go by your take, a different fate is what should happen, right?"
She even whispered for good measure, her eyes narrowing ever so slightly before she let her arm fall back to her side and instead looked over to her right. It was something that the others would be detecting now too, that foreign feeling that washed over them. They would be able to see the vortex that was lingering above Element City. Something that was only recently here given the fact that everyone should be familiar with the topography of Element City by now.
"But before we worry about going back to what we learned, we should see to looking into that. We could ignore it sure, but that doesn't give us any answers either."

Edge's expression changes to one of slight worry for a moment at Mistair's words, something about what she said...
As the woman points out the rising vortex, Edge quietly and cautiously moves his way closer to her, giving her a non-threatening wave as if to ask permission to speak with her. He then draws in close and whispers with a worried expression... an expression that suddenly turns downright sinister.
?: ...you'd better make up your mind fast, because if you don't then I will... and believe me; you'll wish that it had been you instead.
Edge then pushes a hand towards Mistair, shoving her and himself away from one another and giving one last, knowing smile before turning away.
Edge: Yeah, I take back what I said before; she's cool in my book. Have fun with whatever lives in that thing!
Edge then gives one final glance over his shoulder towards Mistair, looking her dead in the eyes as he teleports away

It looked like he wanted to tell her something, so she didn't do anything to deny the permission and listened in to what he had to say, a smile on her face as she maintained eye contact with him. She supposed that he wasn't all that fond of the idea of someone burning at the stake? ...Or perhaps the witch trials would be a more poignant line to draw a conclusion from there? But as he made his departure, she would place her hands behind her back and start to walk toward the vortex in question.
"See? All it takes is a bit of friendly banter to have someone reconsider an eviction notice."

*He supposed that sensation that washed over him, always a different one at that, was something he was going to have to grow accustomed to feeling. And that obviously wasn't something he could just ignore and go about his own business, so he supposed again that it wasn't even up for debate what was next on their to-do list. Edge was rather quiet compared to his usual boisterous self, which is why Genesis was paying attention to him and Mistair. Not enough to be listening in when he moved to whisper to her, but enough to know that he had a very different take of that being a reconsidered idea.*
"We have no idea when that will vanish or who all will be drawn in to it, so we have to investigate it while we have the chance."
*If she didn't want to draw any attention to it, that was fine by him. He certainly wasn't one to champion someone else's case of defense unless he felt he had to, something he didn't feel very often. But he would follow her lead just the same to the vortex. It didn't seem like it was just sucking things in, so... what was its intended purpose then? He was steadily looking more and more forward to the day he started to just get answers rather than even more questions.*

Genesis surely wasn't afraid of his own stance on rebellion and fighting against the powers that be; but, then again, in the face of adversity and with the need for progress in mind, neither was Vanguard. For all the respect he had for the Reaverking Vamin, one thing Vanguard couldn't stand was stagnation. Progressing towards anything, even going back to things that worked before, was preferable to simply staying the same. There was always room for improvement.
That in mind, he also suggested going back to the NIA. Vanguard and Mistair had just spent a fair deal of time escaping from them, so, on the list of suggested courses of actions, they definitely didn't approve of going that route; to say nothing of the concern of their own criminal status in the face of that enemy, they also knew that the NIA has been infiltrated. Rosso works directly with them, and has quite a deal of support from Grom.
It was at that moment that a foreign feeling, yet another feeling quite unlike anything he had felt before, washed over him, and an eye formed with a typhoon that descended from on high. Even when they weren't looking for trouble, it seemed that trouble seemed to find them.
Mistair and Genesis were right, of course. They had to investigate it, as there was no telling how much time it would be open, what would be lost inside of it, and what could be inside of it right now. To leave it would be to risk losing access to whatever secrets it held, or to give time for whatever was inside to make its way here.
Vanguard kept a close eye on Edge, still, watching the enigmatic figure interacting with Mistair. He didn't bother trying to listen in, intent on being present in case it was necessary, and felt himself tense as Edge put his hands on Mistair and separated them, but maintained his calm. Mistair was unbothered by him and his antics, and Vanguard didn't have the energy nor the time to entertain someone such as him.
As she stepped forward towards the vortex, it was a foregone conclusion of what would happen; he followed beside her, keeping pace, as they trekked towards the next unknown.
The vortex appeared like a funnel cloud. An interesting shape, Vanguard thought; but it wasn't truly spiraling at its base, moreso at its top. That meant . . . Vanguard, wide-eyed, picked up the pace just a bit. "This isn't to get something from here, but to make the way for something from elsewhere to get here. Its a funnel into the Net, with something else coming in," he reasoned, the fear of that potential racing over him.

PING!
A sharp, ringing sound resounds, followed by a sharp, harsh voice. Behind the group, a rather unimposing yet interesting Navi stands, adorned in shining, green crystals and holding a large, metallic hammer adorned in the same.
Vytrex: Hold up, I've got a few questions that need to be answered, and you lot are all involved.
The deletion manager, Vytrex, holds his hammer tightly and begins to walk forward. As he does so, he breaks one of the crystals off of his shoulder and holds it up. After a moment, the data held within decompiles in his hand and begins to show something... odd.
Vytrex: At the very least, some of you were in space a while ago, right? Well, all of a sudden the back-end is getting a metric ton of deleted data from up there, and whatever the heck is causing it is actively speeding up. And to make matters worse, there's something really weird about the deleted data, and we can't actually complete its disposal. I need to know if any of you saw anything weird up there, and how we can send someone up to investigate ourselves.
Vytrex saw the portal and knew what the group intended to do, but he held his ground all the same, crossing his arms while holding his heavy weapon as he awaits a response.

Looked like the coast was almost clear... until she heard the voice that was related to the ping that came with it. It was one that she was pretty sure Vanguard was familiar with too given that was a rather... interesting meeting all said. So she already had herself prepared for the inevitable when she turned around to address what the issue no doubt had to be related to this time. And this time she wouldn't have someone else's problems foisted on to her. Maybe.
"If this is about the money you're owed, I was recently unemployed so they have to pay for their own financial fumbles this time."
...Except what Vytrex asked about had nothing to do with any of that. Instead it was about the fact that, unfortunately enough, they could probably be faulted for what happened up there instead. Which meant that was probably still on them instead. Well, actually no, that wasn't the case. This one wasn't their fault as much as it was someone else pulling a trigger and them being in the crosshairs simply because it fit the bill. Well then... she glanced to the side as if to pretend she didn't make the wrong assumption before she promptly moved on from there.
"...We saw a lot of weird things up there. This one I would say that our esteemed host started immediately after everyone else decided to drop by to say their variant of a greeting. If you want to expedite your investigation, Netopia has several access points that can be used at this current moment to get you that far out at least. I would recommend the one in the NIA's secondary headquarters. If you explain the situation to them, assuming anyone's even there to get in your way, they'll allow you access. Otherwise there had been reports of something to that effect in Creamland that hadn't yet been investigated. If those fail, you can probably hi-jack the Red Giant's old access point and reconfigure it to go in the right direction instead."
It would at least tell Vanguard that Genesis wasn't quite wrong to say that one of their means to do this would have been to go back to the NIA. That would be a confrontation in their case, but for Vytrex since it was his team doing their job there was nothing to do about it in terms of resistance.

Vytrex just lets his neck go slack at Mistair's explanation, turning his head to the sky in exasperation.
Vytrex: ...do you have any idea how much paperwork I'm going to have to do to get onboard any of those options? Ugh, guess my next month is basically shot.
Vytrex groans and brings his neck back to position, letting out a sigh as he does so.
Vytrex: But yeah; fair enough. At least I'm not as lost as I have been on this. Hopefully I can work out what the heck this stuff is and how to break it down. We just started working out how to dispose of wave-based stuff, and now this hits us like a ton of bricks. Oh well, thanks a lot.
Vytrex gives a wave and turns around, walking away while mumbling to himself.

#s://i~imgur~com/d3oYlzz~png Only about half an hour had passed since Faith left the conversation, but now, having Pulsed In herself instead of sending her navi as an envoy, it seemed as though the gang had already moved on to their next location.
Given that she hadn't received any notification from any of them yet, she figured they couldn't have gotten far -- or just had their hands tied at the moment.
" Hmm... "
The vortex in the distance seemed to be a sightly enough means of drawing their attention. That'd be the direction she'd head in, then -- and if nothing else, she'd gain information on her own if they happened to miss this blooming crisis in her absence.

. . . Finally; the plaything he was most interested in returns to the box of toys. Having been scouring the Net with his expanded sight, the cosmic emperor, the sentient singularity, peered in as the wave signature he'd been looking for finally reappeared.
It was distorted, slightly, by the connection between her cyber consciousness and her physical form. Still, the way her DNA was transcribed into a digital state was more than sufficient: It was definitely what he was looking for. An intense, overwhelming pressure fell into the space around Faith, as the ground cracked, nearby buildings leaned inward, whining, and the foundation of the Net tilted ever so slightly as the air became thick with power and pressure.
A blinding light announced his arrival in the second that followed, as Sirius appeared before Faith. A luminescent being, he radiated prominent rays of light to accompany the intense pressure he carried, and slowly pulled the rays of light back to contain himself. Floating mere inches from the ground, Sirius surveyed her through slitted eyes, his perpetual, child-like smile ever more pronounced. He looked pleased if such a thing were possible for the collector.
"Destiny has a strange way of interacting with those of us that were always meant to shape it. In a time before even mine, we were predetermined to meet, right here, in this way, at this moment, and you were selected to be capable of that which only a tiny handful of others could even come close to. Of that sample, you stand as the most impressive." He tilted his head to one side, and floated slightly closer to Faith. His high-pitched voice was aloof, childlike, and immature - it didn't match the power that the being gave off.
"My name . . . is Sirius. I am reluctant to admit it, but it seems that you, Faith Nymphra, and you alone, may be capable of assisting in the preservation of my existence."

Her approach was halted by a sudden presence even before its first indication of being there. Not long after, Sirius made himself known and approached Faith. While the voice didn't match the face, she listened to what he had to say as he went on.
" Well, nothing like a last resort. "
A witty line, but her usual demeanor seemed a bit off as she said it -- the regular hip just wasn't there. Her mind was simply somewhere else in the moment, perhaps trailing off to a recollection that was triggered by something. She seemed to regain her focus quickly though, exuding her carefree aura once more as she continued, but it was clear that she was still being quite cautious toward this newcomer.
" So you know about me? "
At the very least, he knew her name and alleged qualification, but as far as destined encounters went, she knew awfully little about him.
