*His form would revert back to normal for now, as he would lower his firing arm. Looked like Deav was going about this sooner rather than later. That was fine, exerting his energy in order to stave off the influence of the scythes and cause their return. This would be the third time he had to deal with them given his encounter with Var invoked them as well, the scar on his chest flashed briefly, a sign that he was invoking the same powers over death as Deav was as he held his position. He imagined Deav's eye would be shining soon as Var's had in order to get more out of it than he had last time. But at this point it truly wouldn't make a difference how deeply he dug, seeing as he was already seated quite firmly in a hole of his own making right now. And Faith's new display would be the key behind just that, not completely understanding the foreign code but feeling some the effects that was now influencing the course of battle. And as her white data began to flow, his own black data rose from his gauntlets slowly but surely. The gauntlet was thrown, and now it was time to see the conclusion of that gauntlet through.*

Death's Embrace When death takes one, does death continue to claim another. So she had something new since the last time they engaged one another, did she? To the point where she was willing to decimate the scythes knowing his ability and not take any immediate offensive action with the Overlord supporting her decision. They both were saying that they could utilize his power than he himself could? Nonsense. Then they would have to prove it. The eye began to gleam red as the wind began to rise around his body as he too lifted off the ground and then let it and the scythes loose upon them, surging across the field to sweep up everything in his path in the begotten winds that he called forth.
Defense:
Nothing here.
Set:
Reaver's Eye used to increase the numerical value of Death's Embrace.
Death's Embrace When death takes one, does death continue to claim another. Effects: When a clone, object, or combatant falls in battle with Deav on the field, Deav's HP is restored to full, his actions doubled, and his skills gain +20 uses for the remainder of the battle for each time this occurs. Passive.
Scythe of Conclusion The sinister blade that reaps, often given to another. Effects: Creates a 5,000 HP Deav Scythe. While on the field, 10% of the HP of all combatants is added to the damage of whoever's side the scythe is on. Can summon the scythe on the opponent's side of the field. Opponents can decline the scythe by expending two skill uses from all of their combatants, thereby forcing it to be summoned on Deav's side of the field instead. Uses: 105
Used 100 times to summon 100 Deav Scythes to Faith and Genesis' side.
Encroaching Demise Death is always looming, always approaching. Sometimes one's ally and at other's their enemy. Effects: For each turn that passes, one effect on the Pale Rider is increased by a numerical value of 1. Can sacrifice attack slots to increase the number of turns this applies by one. Passive.
223 Attack Slots used to increase the values of Pale Rider.
Offense:
Begotten Gale x 223 S-Attack Wind Element Winds that once were become the breath that takes away life. 669,000 Damage, Hits All. Is used for every Wind Element attack used before it or however many actions were used for Encroaching Demise. If Encroaching Demise is chosen, gains a damage multiplier equal to the number of actions that were used for said action.
[Deav HP=25,000]

Faith raised an eyebrow as the winds tore toward her -- Deav still chose to challenge their confidence even after they had telegraphed their plan. They were indeed indicating that they could utilize his power better than he himself could, and yet he refused that notion, still believing himself superior.
" Worthless pride, was it? "
She closed her eyes aas the winds blew against her, but they suddenly parted ways when they colliding with her aura, splitting two ways as if meeting an invisible wall.
Her eyes reopened; her pupils now imbued by the same glowing digits that swarmed her body and engulfed the orb she held above her. His reprisal was fruitless, and even his swarm of scythes fell short of their mark in light of her ascended state.
" Resist all you like, death comes to us all one day. "
Quoting his own words back to him made it all too poetic.
Thought it wasn't intended to be a killing blow, even if it did prove to be enough to subdue him.
" ... "
Rather than throwing the charged orb at him, which was now nearly a hundred times her size, she instead simply lowered her arms and allowed gravity's pull to guide it down. There wasn't much that one could behold in the subsequent brilliant light from the orb's collision with the ground; an explosion so blinding that it would blot out even the words used to describe it.
Yet despite that, it was mysteriously quiet in its ruination as if to feed the anticipation of the impending aftermath when it finally faded back to a point of visibility again.

*To accept their challenge when it was made so obvious was proof that he held pride in his abilities. He couldn't help the smile that came to his face at Faith's words, as the wind was a fruitless effort against them. He didn't feel the need to assist, but he was nothing if not thorough. And even the scythes were denied, leaving everything he had pointless yet again. He probably thought this couldn't happen to him like this again, but... never say never, as they say.*
"You drove a hard nail in that coffin, Faith."
*He could temper his blows to leave him alive as requested of him as his cloak once more shifted into the signs of the Overlord. And he would aim the firearm once again and pull the trigger, the sound of the hammer muted by Faith's own ongoing display.*
Defense:
-100 uses from Phantom Defiance and Passage of Genesis for Scythes to personally resist Scythes. Begotten Gale taken for 0 damage.
Support Phase:
The Origin: Overlord
The reason behind the moniker of Genesis. His cloak morphs as it becomes a crimson cape, part of it wrapped around the collar of his armor while the armor itself remains the same in color. Gaining a spike in several areas, being at the knees of both legs, the elbow of both gauntlets, and at both shoulders, a mask appears over his mouth, while his eyes of violet remain on his prey.

Evanescence: The Fleeting Desire Aimer ~ B Tier Description: Genesis takes off the limits on his attacks, unleashing far more devastating assaults at a much faster speed. Devastating the area around him entirely. Effects: Can add +1 Hit to an attack and reduces the Cooldown of the attack by 1 Turn if it has one. If the attack does not have a Cooldown or cannot have Hits added to it, the other effect is applied to it an additional time. x156 Uses
Used on Ivory Twilight.
Offense Phase:

A memento of old times, and channels his might extremely well when used. When her words echoed out did he come to realize his own folly by following through with this course of action. And when neither were even scratched after his attack, things would potentially take a turn for the worst. He could utilize the scythes when they returned... would have been his thought, had they begun to do so. But they hadn't done that. He could feel Genesis resist, but then that meant that she... he felt the loss of control begin to settle in. It wasn't exactly a foreign feeling for him, but not one that he ever anticipated he would feel coming from just a human with the equalivalent of a fancy tool kit. And his own quote would be thrown back at him in kind, and if not for his own ability to face the augmentation of the scythes he would have been quite annihilated. But even that was kept under their realm of control, as he could only stand and hold the quiet ruination that engulfed him. And when the blinding devastation had finally unfolded, the Rider of Death was left on his back on the ground, fully defeated by them. They had unraveled his abilities and were able to counter him with their knowledge and growth over time, and this was the result. Rather than struggle to move or anything of the like, he merely embraced his lot here. It had all been predetermined the moment even his own abilities were turned against him.
:Deav: Defeated.

#s://i~imgur~com/eF3oRe3~png Falling from on high, Faith brandished the scythe that she'd had since her first encounter with Deav, crashing down on top of him so that her feet pinned his shoulders where he laid as she struck with the scythe, swinging it downward to bury its blade into the crown of his head -- an unceremonious end to their dispute.
The weapon shattered upon impact, its noise echoing throughout the ruins as if it were attesting to the execution of the Reaverking.
" ... "
... and yet he was still breathing.
The exposition behind her decision to strike the ground instead of his head was immense to say the least, but it was clear now that her request to Genesis earlier was to prevent him from killing Deav himself -- the harbinger was still at the mercy of the overlord's decision to remain true to his word, of course.
Faith's feud with him wasn't as deep as it looked on the outside. In fact, it was exactly as she said: nothing personal at all. She was lazily bested during their first encounter (and certainly more than a little salty about how it all went down), then barely held her own during their second. There was certainly an unsettled score, but it was his motif that struck her the worst.
Death had caused her significant harm in the past, and while he wasn't the literal manifestation of it nor the governing force, his embellishment of it brought that pain back to her and was only compounded by her losses -- being defeated both hypothetically and literally by it was a psychological blow, to say the least, but that certainly made her victory here all the more sweeter as well.
She could admit the pettiness of her dispute, and while her integrity let that one slide, it urged her to forfeit the conclusion she had earned. And that reason alone was what dictated her action -- her conscience told her that it didn't feel right to end him, so she didn't. Faith's loyalty to virtue was unwavering, even in spite of all other circumstances.
" I'll cash my vengeance in later. You and the other Reavers were docile after Juno's fall, so I'm inclined to believe that it's your superiors that have initiated you again. But when they're out of the picture, and now that you've been warned: cross our path again and there will be no mercy. "
It must have felt like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, she imagined, for his superiors to force him forward while she and Genesis forced him back. But her mercy concealed a hidden logic as well, something she'd keep obscure for now as she stepped off of his body and allowed his retreat.
" Stay out of our way, Deav... "
Her eyes furrowed to instigate an instant response as she finished her threat.
" ... before we change our mind. "

He hadn't flinched away from what was to come, but the strike that would end him at her hand never came. It came close, but was delivered just shy of his skull to bring the defeated to an end. He kept his eye on her until she explained herself, the amnesty that was granted a double-edged sword. From how he saw it the moment Var was bested they were on borrowed time all the same. At the very least, they would have no need of himself and Vamin and could continue to use them as forerunners as they saw fit. Whether they were disposed of in a fitting manner or a disgraceful manner wasn't important at all.
"...."
But none of that mattered right now anyway, closing his eye as he would slip into the shadows and his presence gradually fading until it was completely removed from the area to leave them able to continue their investigation without further interruption unless someone else would come to do that for them now that Deav had been pushed aside by the duo.

*It looked like this would be it then, watching the scene unfold until... he could see Deav still there. She had decided not to put an end to him with the very scythe he was so proud of? ...So that was her angle, was it? Certainly, people lately had a way with words, didn't they? Well he did say she could have the final blow this time. He would keep to his word for this encounter. If Deav was to present himself before him again, then that was a different story. He would clean things up without any fuss or discussion. In some ways this was the best way for it to turn out, as if his suspicions were right after his encounter with Var, destroying Deav wouldn't remove him from their problems anyway. But that sparked his curiosity all the same.*
"What made you decide to let him go?"
*He wouldn't call it having mercy on him, as he was still caught between destruction at their hands or the price of failure at his master's behest. But it did remove the chance of doing it with her own hands from her when nothing else was stopping her from cashing in on that payment now. So he was curious on what came to mind for her that caused her to stay her judgment of him for the time being.*

#s://i~imgur~com/eF3oRe3~png " I wanted to see whether he was more afraid of us or of them. "
The logic shined through, now that he was gone. To add to that fact was the reality that deleting him would have meant nothing in the grand scheme of things: he could just be restored like any other Navi or, in the event that the Mortality Anomaly still prevented that, rebuilt from scratch to be even stronger. The denial of death was also the denial of reincarnation.
" If it was them, he would have rather died fighting and we would have just killed him then. And if it was us, well then... "
She looked back and grinned, letting the outcome speak for itself before reiterating it herself a moment later.
" ... at least now we know we're making progress. "
When threats pressed from both sides, the weaker was going to crumble to the other. A slave would only fear a conqueror's sword more than a master's whip when they knew that it was stronger.
" It's a bit out of my character for sure, but I haven't had any real chance to assess them before. Even this is still mostly just assumption based on deduced behavior, but I'd say that's still more valuable than another dead body. And if they do send him back at us, then that gives us an even better assessment of them. "
Faith moved on to continue their investigation, talking as she walked to make the most of the time they were allotted here.
" It's not all a mind game, though. I don't think evening a score always needs to lead to eradication of the opposition. "
Total eradication was virtually never her intent, in fact. Not that beating her opposition into submission was any better, but the point was that she believed in leaving room for a later compromise -- perhaps it was her human nature to believe that even Navis could change their ways given time, but vengeance was a cycle that only mercy could break. She would have spared Silverhorn as well, if it were entirely up to her.
" For every easy encounter we overcome, there'll be a seemingly impossible one to match. I'm sure we're due for one of those soon, so we'd best get what we came here for, no? "

*He had offered up a nod to her words and her grin. It made sense to want to test that theory of hers. It would serve to deduce whether as she stated, the fear was greater or them than not or if the desire for self-preservation was higher than anything else. And if they sent someone they knew would fail back at them, it would help deduce their thoughts on the matter as well. Sometimes evening a score meant leaving the other side alive so that they could suffer more rather than less, so one less dead body could be better at times. He couldn't say if that would always be his thoughts on the matter, as in some cases he wasn't big on compromising that outcome. It wasn't that he didn't share in her belief in change, simply that the change took longer than desired sometimes for his liking. He was patient on many things, but he would draw lines eventually.*
"So far I think the only reason our more impossible foe wasn't here instead of Deav is because he was called back for something they deemed more important than this, for now anyway. That's an assumption too, given they could simply be lying in wait anyway. Or given what was unveiled from the destruction, aim to use that instead for now."
*It was hard to miss it on the way here. With the upper half of Sharo annihilated, what was left was something buried underneath. It had stretched further than he expected and that was with him not going to find out just how far it went. But it was certainly larger than Sharo, meaning it had to be putting the rest of itself somewhere, that Colossus that was minding its business. Ideally it was still just inactive, but if it was beginning to move he could only surmise that its striking range was all of Sharo's networks in one fell swoop. So in that case, she was right in that they needed to see this through as soon as possible and then get back to a safer area. He wouldn't exactly call Eden safe, but it at least was the last time he was there. On that note...*
"When we get it, we can head back to Eden. It's located in space and is different than the Galaxy Network, but with that awareness in mind we should be able to get you there without an issue this time as opposed to last time."
*Last time it worked because for them they didn't need certain essentials that were missing from the particular space environment. That was something that could be remedied now that they knew that, but not something they could have done in the heat of battle against Var either.*

As they progressed deeper, they would see why the elevator had brought them so deep soon enough. Because now their continued progression led them to another ride, but this time having a closed door after. It would open after a bit of compression to let water in to the now open ride, revealing an underwater storage. Or a Sunken Library, if they would. Various compartments to store information was about, some damaged and others worn but still operational. It meant that what they were in charge of protecting looked to be information of some kind. Whether or not they could move the entire library was to be found out or how much of it was usable or corrupted, but as they were already aware of: time wasn't their ally no matter what their approach was for these Submerged Memories.

#s://i~imgur~com/stQVi94~png Fortunately for Faith, her human body could still breathe despite where her virtual body found itself. That didn't change the fact that they were pressed for time, of course, but at least she wasn't at the risk of suffocating.
" Didn't expect to find this here... "
Her voice was muffled by the water that they were now submerged in. While she wouldn't drown herself, there was only so much water damage that the data here could handle before becoming irreparable, if any of it was still salvageable as is.
" Let's see what we can find, I guess. I'm sure there'll be some sort of directory here that we can use to guide us through the library, then hopefully the data can still function. "

*This was a surprise, even if mildly inconvenient. He was fine with that as he could just use his ability to keep himself away from any risk of suffocation. He would be fine normally anyway, but given the various changes done to the world at large, he would prefer to err on the side of caution. With how large this was, she was right that finding the directory instead of searching blind was key instead. So he offered a nod up to her, using his ability to scan the area to ascertain the path there so they could race the clock a bit more effectively and then move to it. And then depending on what they learned he could decide what they should do with the information from there.*

They would be able to spot the directory and make their way toward it, being able to find the room that would show cameras to lead them to a series of doors that they could access to find parts of the library. From there they would be able to go through and collect a number of data discs with information on them. Others they found had clear marks of decay and unable to be processed and used, as they would begin to hear the water move roughly, as if a large creature was moving through parts of it. They had eluded it with their steps so far, but could stick around to either further investigate it or be satisfied with everything they gathered and leave the area for the time being.

Faith heard the noise and pointed in the direction that it came from, non-verbally indicating to Genesis that she'd go check it out while he could collect the last amounts of data.
Swimming silently ahead, she kept her wits about her as she investigated what had caused the sudden movement, intending not to be caught unaware by whatever was lurking in the library.
