She was afraid to see what was coming next. And while she had to watch it unfold, she still would be able to support Vanguard when he was lost in it all. To know that destroying the foundations of a world, to undermine it like this, was something that they only considered the beginning? And yet... deep down, she didn't consider it all that surprising. Something told her that it truly was something that was a trivial matter... something that she felt frightened of. To consider something like this minuscule and not even noteworthy... she would close her eyes to collect herself as Var listened to his protege's frustrations. And unlike with Rosso, he responded all too well.
"What happened to Juno? He was defeated, vague as the event now appears to you all, by the united forces. He would then be taken in and assimilated by these new forces. With Juno gone our directive hadn't changed, but before we could relish in this victory those very same forces were upon us next. And after being destroyed and recreated thousands upon thousands of times, we would yield of our own volition. It was that or a different kind of servitude. Deav, Vamin, and myself agreed to take the load off of Vestil, leaving us worse off than he is. We could not be victorious against them, no matter how many times we waged that battle against them."
It would bring words to Vanguard's mind that Var spoke of. He could see how those words were not only being spoken to Vanguard, but to himself. Back when he could do nothing about Juno, and even now when he could do nothing about those who were here now. He even still was forging on, in the face of those insurmountable odds. What could drive him to pursue it with such fervor even after being dismantled and put together an untold number of times until even their pride was stripped of them?
"Your eye needs to remain inactive until you can subjugate its prime directive. Once you can exceed me, who has surpassed my Maker, your eye can truly become your own. We're forcing its inactivity until that time has come for you. My relationship with Juno has always run counter to my true purpose given to me even by my now fallen Mother. And you obtaining the eye is another step toward that which has been deemed impossible by all definitions of the word: victory."
He was created as the Avatar of War, the bringer of the Apocalypse. He had indeed succeeded in that role all too well now. But what was his true role? How deep were the roots of his own sabotage, to the point that even to this day he was still doing exactly that as much as he was allowed? Why had Vanguard been chosen? The answer to that was more than obvious.
"I won't say something like you are special or different. There are many who are like you, but will never be you. You were the one that I saw and placed my beliefs in. And you have been one of the core pieces that can offer that fleeting chance, that possibility to raise the number above zero. Because even what can be seen from this attack or down there now pales in comparison to some of the individuals in their ranks that have been granted titles. Their designs are so much more than just this world that is at stake in this war. And now? There is only one way for that victorious road to be paved left to me now, as it always has been."

...all of this exposition and bravado... the self-centeredness and worthless strife, all for the sake of power and control. The Destroyer has to look away from the window at the sight of the destruction; unable to stomach it any longer. An ironic fact given his title, and even his true purpose.
?: You damned fool.
The destroyer closes his eyes, fed up with the sanctimonious talk of personal greatness and "greater plans" over-arcing and trampling those not strong enough to fight. He'd been silent in the face of it for years, holding on to the hope that he could help to change things from the background. But no more...
?: How many lives need to end before you're all satisfied with yourselves? How many need to suffer and bleed before your selfish gluttony for power comes to an end? You preach of power and glory, but all that I see is the path of cowards and mindless fools, wrought in the pain and sadness of others. Do you know how many hospitals in the real world are offline now, leaving people that could be saved to suffer and die? People who will never return, and families that will never recover, all thanks to your sanctimonious visions.
His head rests in his hand, taking off his helmet in the process.
?: And the shame is that you're probably too stupid to even understand what I'm actually saying to you, too blinded by your own ignorance and self-serving power. I don't care who you are, where you're from, what you're capable of, or even what you can do to me; a day will come when you suffer tremendously for the road that you've helped to pave today....
The destroyer's eyes open, looking directly into the reaverbot's red eye.
?: ...and I hope that, in that day, you're never allowed to feel the relief of death that so many are taking hold of even now as one last respite.

*Seeing the world being undone at the drop of a hat was almost mind-numbing. It wasn't as though it were impossible, or that they could rebuild over time assuming things weren't too severe... but the fact that for once they failed was enough. And while he was taking it in, he was listening to Var and aiming to dissect what he was telling them. While he wouldn't go as far to unravel it as Vanguard would, he would direct his attention to his currently not nemesis at his outburst. At first he would have considered it uncharacteristic of him... at least until he started to think about what it was he had always fought for in the background. No wonder they had always been so opposed to one another. Their beliefs couldn't be further apart if they had actively tried to make it so. Since the very beginning they had such a contrasting view that they would never compromise on. So it was no wonder that they would find themselves in the place they would in time. Now before Var acted on his right to annihilate the Destroyer here, of which he wouldn't exactly go out of his way to prevent, he would correct him first.*
"While I can't claim to care for all of those people as you do, I can at least point out that you're mistaken. You're blinded by your concern for the people who are passing by the minute and not hearing what he's saying. He hasn't been preaching of power and glory at all, nor was he the one responsible for paving the road that has killed so many today. Rather he speaks of the opposite: he's a tool fighting against the road that will cost even more lives. That is the path he seeks to pave as opposed to the path that whoever Rosso works for is aiming for. To them it's crystal clear that they have no limit to the number of lives they intend to extinguish. He's failed to save those lives just as much as anyone else who was trying to save them."
*His purpose ran counter to what he was set to represent. Even since Juno from the look of it, he stood against what that goal was. In that he could offer his respect, but little else. At the end of the day even if he was a paper king that was trying to bring down his tyrants, he was still ultimately an obstacle to him. One that needed to be removed before they could even consider dealing with the bigger picture. Of which, from the look of things... they weren't in a very good spot to do that. Which was making his other goal even more grim to accomplish with getting Fate back from their clutches.*
"Besides, it sounds like he knows death in spades and then some. Making him suffer is going to be a real challenge for even those enlightened in it."

The destroyer's eyes lock on Genesis for a moment, glaring as is normal before giving his response.
?: I kill with my right hand, heal with my left, and yet both are connected. He's here as part of the force that's done this, and his claims of absolution are as meaningless as this whole game.
He then turns away dismissively, not caring any farther for what the Onyx Overlord may say in response.

The obvious answer to the question was the answer he was expecting, and all that followed was information that he had already guessed at, but hearing it confirmed finally from a source he did trust lifted the weight off of him for it. Ultimately defeated, Juno was assimilated by these forces, who must have been in the background of world events happening for some time now to be ready to take that. Given how well prepared they are, that makes sense.
His master's words now were reminiscent of his teachings from that very Garden, and how much of those teachings were not just for Vanguard's ears. They were reminders to Var, encouragement and recognition of the work he was putting in, to keep him moving forward, to remind him of the single most important part of conflict, of survival.
Then, as the story goes, they were given a choice - willing servitude or forced. In some ways, it wasn't really a choice, because as Vanguard remembered, they were good at making decisions for you but making you feel like you made it. Allowing Var and the others some form of self agency gave them more numbers to work with, greater range of impact, and ultimately more pawns to control. It was better for them, this way.
To destroy and recreate them, and to give Var a purpose outside of his true purpose, meant that this was a plan put into place since Var was controlled by Juno. What, then, was this purpose, that both Juno and their new forces would prevent Var from doing, and how still did the need for Vanguard to surpass Var, to overcome his eye's prime directive, connect with all of this?
He waited to hear the rest of Var's answers, going over the information in his mind. He heard the Armored Destroyer's words behind him, but, in truth, didn't know enough about the unnamed Navi to give his opinion any weight, especially given that Var's own words made it clear that it was so much bigger than all of the people on Earth right now. Sure, Vanguard heard his words, and agreed that what was happening was tragic, but now was not the time to point fingers - Var was as much a victim here as they were, and was no more at fault for the destruction going on than they were for the release of Pandemic.
Vanguard wouldn't entertain the unnamed Navi, and moved on in spite of him, as Genesis made his own words known.
"The eye . . . does it come from Juno, then, or your original Maker? Your Mother?" The next obvious question, of course, was to discern what the eye was, exactly, then. Var was still speaking in riddles, but he could come to certain understandings. "Since it was you that implanted my eye into me, I cannot make it my own until I surpass even you, but you could not do so until you surpassed your maker. I assume it to be from your mother, then. Its inactivity . . . does that mean that before overcoming it, my eye would allow someone else to dictate my actions? . . . Before you overcame your mother, were your actions your own? Have you been working on this since Juno?"
To think, this grand plan of sabotage, having gone into place the moment Var was outmatched by Juno, to create someone that would outmatch him and perhaps even outmatch all that had opposed him, and he had entrusted that into Vanguard. If it wasn't that he was special so much as Var knew he could put his effort into him and see results, what was it that Var saw in him after all of this time that he knew he could use?
"Then this execution . . . you're expecting me to surpass you, here and now? Or will it be as the others, where you only use a portion of your skills to put us down, and ultimately flee to fight another day?
"What is it that you are so certain I possess that allows me to be trusted with this goal?" he asked, feeling somewhat overwhelmed, as if so much weight was suddenly thrust onto his shoulders; weight he did not ask to bear, especially not alone. The eye that he had been granted, which he had displayed sometimes in honor of his master, could have at any point been used to control him, when he had spent so long trying to ensure that the humans that repurposed him, even his own Maker, would not be able to exercise that control over him? It gave him a lot of conflicted emotions, and he felt that he had the answers to these questions, but he needed to hear it from Var.
"What is this purpose, that even now you strive towards with that indomitable spirit that you passed onto me? What is this true purpose that you try to reclaim your own control of, and can we truly trust it enough to help free you? What makes me capable of claiming victory in this war with many lost battles?"

He imagined if Faith were here to witness this, she would have a rather similar response on what was going on right now. She would be witnessing it live in progress on the people's end after all, so no doubt that would light a fire under her as well. So he was glad to see that there was another here in the Armored Destroyer who felt for at least that half of the losses incurred. Not enough would bother to even mourn their departure from this world, while the Onyx Overlord would do so for the Navis that would do the same. And while it wouldn't even be child's play for him to add the Armored Destroyer to the ranks of the departed, especially in his condition, he offered him some words instead.
"You should try being mindful of your own words instead of practicing that very same mindless, cowardly ignorance due to the frustrations born of your own inability. So perhaps in all of this you'll learn to be more thoughtful, through their suffering rather than your own. No one caught in this will be returning to anyone after all, so please think on their behalf as well. On that very same paved road of mine, should all go well for all of you."
After all, for someone who acted only in the background for so long, this would always end this way. Whether it be their fault or another, he would have been doomed for failure with not only his approach, but his pattern of thought as well. One did not need to look further than the Armored Destroyer's results over his years of operation. So this would hopefully let him understand that, seeing as he never learned from his own failures in the past. Because he knew all too well that wailing and barking out of vexation alone wouldn't amount to anything. He had heard more than enough of his fair share of begging from innocents who wanted to live their lives and had done nothing wrong, or even criminals who had no right to be condemned. And then it would happen all over again. At least this time, those people would only need to feel the relief of death once. But for now would be answering the next set of questions.
"My eye comes from my Mother, correct. It would assert absolute control over you and make you do your assigned tasks. And were your eye active now, your actions would no doubt be dictated by Immortalis until the day of your permanent annihilation or until you could exert your own control by exceeding the one who grafted the eye to you. Until the day I overcame it, I was little more than a weapon to be pointed in a direction with the owner pulling the trigger. This would change when we were able to let Juno be destroyed before he could enact his flawed view of a selective paradise."
"One such proof of my inability to fully act despite my ability to think and speak would be those battles you speak of. We are authorized to use a certain amount of strength in accordance to the current threat. Should we fail at the task, we are forced to withdraw on at least the first encounter with such a foe. From then on we become disposable goods or even before that, given my original mission was simply to keep you in Sharo so that you were another victim to this along with me. We have enough control of ourselves now to deviate a bit from their plotted course, especially since any hint of our backlogs are either at the disposal of someone else or otherwise removed, to do that much. But only so long as those deviations don't bother them. Being a thinking, talking gun certainly has its perks, doesn't it?"
His tone didn't show any signs of being angry or sad with his position. He had done more than enough of bemoaning his position in life. That didn't accomplish anything more than be acquainted to the tantrums of an unruly child. But as time continued to pass, he found a way to make use of his false freedom. It wasn't the philosophical take on whether one's freedom was an illusion or not. He knew all too well what happened when they acted out on their own. They made certain he would never go a moment without a constant reminder of exactly that. Being allowed a sense of autonomy was simply out of that engineer's own derived amusement on the matter. Either they would comply and be allowed to at least do so their way, or they would comply as a mindless tool. It wouldn't change how effective that tool was if it was able to fulfill its purpose, something their "freedom" was hardly required for. The heralds before them all knew were living proof... no, the correct term after recent events now would be that they were once proof of that. Those guns had served their purpose and their bullets were already spent now. The only thing they would do now is serve as sustenance for those aliens now.
"My goal is for a world that has no need of my existence. A world that has no need of power that robs the lives of millions simply because someone thought it would be a fine design to create on a whim. Because they feel they have the right to make whatever they want regardless of the world at large. Due to the extremely ruthless methods taken by these unfeeling individuals, all of their necks are laid bare. The rest is simply up to if you can muster up what Gestalt has given you."

Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard considered his master's words, trying to think beyond the current moment, but knowing that time was against them. He considered Genesis and Mistair in the room, even Armored Destroyer, and knew that they could only entertain his need for answers for so much longer.
In the back of his mind, he knew that, back on Earth, the workers of Project Darklight were under fire. Faith was, as well. He couldn't keep his thoughts there, however, as all that he had left, all the things that demanded his attention, culminated right here. As Var put it, this being the outcome of so many decisions leading up to it was inevitable, but what followed - that was still morphic, and they could still make a difference with what came next.
The revelation of their limits and authorizations reminded him somewhat of Vamin and Deav, but more immediately made him think of Rosso and the strange defense he had that seemed to flicker in and out. The requirement of holding back as necessary for the occasion was surely to set a sense of false security, and to not show more of their abilities than necessary, but his words implied that by failing his mission of keeping them in Sharo that Var had lost that same requirement and safeguard. To overcome Var, then, would be to do so without any limitations, in this case.
Deviations to the course were always allowed, so long as it still met the same end result. So the task became to enact their will and follow through to their end goal, but determine how to accomplish his goals in the process. Vanguard had been considering the very same things, since he and Mistair were pinned down in the NIA headquarters what felt like so long ago.
Then, came Var's admittance of his purpose - as any true tool or engine, the ultimate goal is to progress to a point where the tool is no longer necessary. Var's ultimate purpose is to no longer have one, and he had been working to reclaim his own control over that purpose for so long. There was still much to question, so, Vanguard would push forward, trying to see what else he could learn before their time to talk was up.
"I'm following most of what you're saying, but you mentioned two names that I haven't been privy to as of yet - Immortalis and Gestalt. Immortalis, I presume, is the one that assimilated Juno and your Mother, and has the ability necessary to utilize their abilities or otherwise control them.
"Gestalt . . . I've heard nothing of this . . . being. He's given us something? How? What?
"Rosso, and the others, too. Do they exist within the paradox that prevents us from detecting them, as Eden does? You say that their current brutality has left them vulnerable, but how are we to contend with them at this stage? With what they have unleashed, and the assurance that this isn't even a speck compared to what some of their number is capable of, where does that leave any room for us?
"Your very words prove that our spirit and drive alone will not always be enough. Patience may reveal an opportunity, but we've been reactive all this time, with no space to be proactive against them.
What more can you tell me of the situation at large, at least? How far does this go? What are these beings that assail us on all sides? How do we fit into their plans, and why here, why now?"

The destroyer turns his head from the reaverbot defiantly, looking back to the net that he'd once known, now in tattered ruins. But, despite his normal and hard exterior, the nameless Navi knew that the reaver was right. Many times he'd tried to make a difference, but in most cases he'd failed. And now that he looks on to see such a cataclysm below? It all forged a new anger, one that he was powerless to use. Even now, others drive towards the next step, while he can only wish that he could have done more, that he could have actually made a difference before it could all fall to these depths.
His body at last relaxes, the tenseness of his rage subsiding. All that he can do now is close his eyes and look away from the carnage, hoping that this can still be rectified in some way, no matter the cost.

*To kill with the right and heal with the left, and yet both were connected was a truthful statement. To use the right would be when one decided to kill, while to use the left would be when one decided to save. While one could make the argument that you decided who to let live and die, ultimately he felt that one shouldn't pretend to be a saint or any kind. If you would kill, kill with both hands. If you would save, save with both hands. He would move one of his hands then to start writing in the air with his index finger, nothing significant then, but just three letters in sequence. First an S, then an F, and finally a W. He was starting to see where Var was coming from on ultimately what side he stood on. But a paper savior was ultimately still just that, exactly why he knew that he had to pass his role on to another.*
"You're slightly mistaken, Vanguard. Their current brutality can only leave them vulnerable due to them butting heads with a few others as a result. Or more directly put, the necks laid bare would be the other dictators in our world. Var's looking for both sides to be mangled by this now."
*And ultimately much of them had been. If the current pace continued it was very likely that would end up being the case. Var felt that the only way to bring an end to his purpose was for all reasons his purpose would be required to be eliminated. That included forces both old and new in the equation. If they were fishing for a reaction out of them, they were able to obtain it each time. The only part that confused him not with Var's actions, but with their new enemies, was why they hadn't been this direct from the very beginning. Certainly they had been destructive on every occasion, but not overtly so. Why didn't they just exert their full force from the very beginning upon them? ...It could only mean that they wanted them to amass their own power for something. Was it related to the Gestalt that Var brought up? He never heard of it or knew of it, only that the meaning of the name was telling enough on what it could possibly represent. Anything else would be mere speculation on his part, but he was seeing at least strong evidence of one of those particular speculations being more relevant than the others. And if that was the case, he was going to have to have a talk with someone again sooner rather than later.*

The Overlord would have the right of it this time. As it stood, the next move to be made had already been done in fact. And either a fight would be had over it, or due to their foothold already being prepared they would have all they needed to continue pressing the matters at hand. But with the questions Vanguard asked next, it looked as though it were time for their discussion to be concluded.
"I cannot speak much on Immortalis, both from my position and a lack of knowledge, but I do know that he does not to assimilate anything directly to utilize their abilities or control them. I know even less of Gestalt, and have only heard his name in passing from Magnolia. I can only assume what they've gathered is sent back to him. As for the method to bypass my restrictions..."
The power had begun to well up as the Avatar of War began to make his strength known. He had still been allowed to take over this task because they deemed him capable of fulfilling it without fail, otherwise they would have simply ignored his request. When they wanted something done thoroughly, they would never leave it to chance. But the odds of their success against him was still vastly greater than the odds they had against the one who was hounding them before.
"You need only possess the strength to break this body of mine down. If you can do that against the one who has surpassed the Great Mother and her crafted Sun, in those fleeting moments I can provide what remaining answers I possess."

He turned his head to listen to Genesis, seeing where he had made the mistake. It did give him further confirmation on a theory when Var mentioned something being returned to Gestalt - that . . . that would answer a lot of questions, actually. Or at least explain some of them. It still left much to be desired as to the purpose, but it did leave less to the imagination.
It was sudden, then, that Var suddenly unleashed his power. To have surpassed his Great Mother, and what Vanguard could only assume was her previous greatest creation in her crafted "Sun," Var must have acquired incredible power since he last met with him. Vanguard had acquired power, as well.
Purple fires ignited over his body and wreathed the black suit he wore, his hand engulfed by the energy as it morphed. His trusted cannon erupted from his wrist, a stand pulled out from the sides to stabilize it, and his coils turned and shifted as his chip library lined up in the slots as he needed them. The fires in his eyes solidified into their reticles, and Vanguard stared directly at Var.
"Then we do what we must. Armiger, Genesis, Mistair . . . here he comes."
This wasn't going to be like the sparring matches from all that time ago. Vanguard would have to pay close attention to Var, for his life was on the line.
Var would have to pay attention to Vanguard, however. His eyes had only grown keener with time.

"Then I suppose it's time we see if we can't bring an end to War."
*The time for battle was upon them then as his cloak moved about to take on the form of Testimony. Their fight with Deav had been a trial, but not one they couldn't overcome. The same could be said for Silverhorn as well. Var claimed himself beneath the likes of Rosso, Nero, and Blu, all of which they had been completely ineffective against. In that case, that meant that this wasn't as much of an uphill battle as each of those had been. He didn't know what this Great Mother was or her makings, but she would be down another child should he have his way today. The blades of onyx energy came to hand as he unleashed them upon Var, following after them to strike in tandem with them before a mix of gray and black energy would come to his palms then, unleashing both at the improved entity.*

Whether or not they were up to the task wasn't up for debate. One way or another they would have to come out victorious here, taking up her support of each of them first and foremost as unleashed the various bolts of lightning at their latest executioner. Murian Wave Generator - The Murian Harbinger ~ War Description: The power of the Murian Wave Generator grants incredible power to the wave beings created by the Murian people, enabling them to heighten their combat prowess, and making them stronger than their baser peers. Each is outfitted with a specialized core that further enhances the skills of its wielder. But with Var, something even more devastating than their grand wonders awaits on the horizon... -- Except by other entities with this skill, effects from the user's attacks cannot be copied or imbued. Skills copied from the user are always graded one tier higher for uses and scaling, and lose any custom properties.
Murian Wave of Brutality The Murian Harbingers, or the Reaverkings, are not simple programs embodying an inevitable concept. They are truly harbingers of the apocalyptic truths of the Murian Ancestry, empowered by the Great Being. The Harbinger of War can incite violence from anything, and rises in power as the carnage ensues. And at the end of such brutality awaits the truth. -- All entities with HP possess a minimum of 1 Attack Slot, and any summoned entities are automatically inflicted with Berserk. When attacking, they use their summoner's attack set, and prioritize attacks that target multiple entities. -- Berserk requires the afflicted to attack as many HP entities on the battlefield as it can, prioritizing Multi-target attacks, and at least one ally must be included as a target for all attacks. While Berserk, all allies are affected by attacks with Hits All. Berserk has its duration refreshed during any turn that the afflicted lands an attack. Possessing Immunity to Berserk reduces its duration to only 1 turn, instead. -- For each enemy afflicted with Berserk, the user gains +25% Damage. Per 5 enemies, the user gains an additional attack slot. The user is excluded as a target from any Multi-Target attacks made by Berserk enemies.
Battle's Respite A reprieve that follows combat. Effects: Negate a number of attacks equal to the number of immunities Var possesses (16). Counters with Reflection a number of times = to 1/3 this number if chosen. Uses: 11
x1 Used. All attacks negated. No attacks reflected.

If so, the additional uses are stored and unleashed all at once +1 additional instance per turn held..
Strife's Zenith Conflict grows as a result of conflict. Thus is the cycle of battle. Effects: Charge multipliers applied to attacks persist for the remainder of the battle after being applied to attacks. Can apply the collective charge multipliers to a number of attacks equal to Var's base attack slots every two turns. Status damages on attacks charged for 3 turns or more gain regardless of success.
Merciless Destruction Destruction given shape, war given form. Effects: Can apply charges multiple times to non-full turn charge attacks. Can charge separate instances of the same attack. Charges can be applied at any point in the turn.

Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard held himself strong, analyzing the defensive and taking the red waves of strife, but unleashed a flare of power from his body to prevent the power of the blade arm from overtaking him. Such incredible strength, indeed, and with each passing moment the power would rise - any opposition was sure to be overwhelmed with time.
His method of defense was incredibly effective, but simple in nature. Strife was his to command, and so he could simply thwart it as necessary. To overcome such control was a matter of time and joint effort, then - more attacks would be more difficult for him to exert his control over. They needed to overwhelm him with not only constant pressure, but pressure with enough force to warrant even using his control to prevent it. The method demanded unique means of attacking it, not just attacks with flurries of strikes or multiple launches, to say nothing of the incredible force that they had to contend with the entire time.
Vanguard nodded, rethinking his offensive plan, lifting his cannon and maneuvering a little the side of of the room, all the while lining up energy with his coils and preparing for what his next idea was. At the end of the day, he didn't have the wells of energy his master possessed; the method they used for garnering incredible strength was fundamentally different, and Var's was naturally stronger. His eyes allowed him to master an incredible flow of energy in an instant, while Var's allowed him to maintain the flow of energy collected to continue the force. While inherently weaker, he had to prove his might over Var's - and, so, he lowered himself down opposite from Gen in comparison to Var and lined up his reticle, unleashing a blast of pure power that had become his calling card.

Armiger.EXE
Armiger, still resting on Genesis' chest, unveils his own newly acquired power as the force of Var's red tide comes upon them. The first of the tide may have affected Genesis, but it did not affect Armiger, and already the kinetic energy was beginning to build up within the armor, and the second tide washed over with the same effect - no harm done, but incredible energy being stored within.
All at once, the chilling blizzard is unleashed, a maelstrom of ice and frost that chills the very ground it touched as it washed by. How the master of war would respond to his own rebuttal, he didn't know, but Armiger was quite done with sitting on Genesis and passively being brutalized to be useful.
"You don't mind if I help a little more this time, do you?"
Without waiting for much of a response from Genesis, the flurry already released kicked up a powerful storm next to Genesis, rapidly solidifying into an additional suit of armor that looked identical to Armiger, but didn't have the shining light in its core acting as his intellect. Linked to the armor on Genesis' chest, this one moved forward as it was directed, and ran head long at Var to get into close combat with the embodiment of war.
The incredible suit of cold rammed itself into Var, dissolving into a flurry of wind and snow to storm around him and attempt to caught his body in unyielding ice.

*He could feel the attempt made against him, but through the combined defenses of himself and Armiger, it wouldn't amount to much save for the influence it would have over their resilence to the stage itself being changed on them. So he would weigh the power behind the initial swing sent toward Vanguard to measure it up with his wealth of experience behind attacks. It was a solid opener to say the least, but nothing that he would write home as being the pinnacle of war. He had seen another war engine that fed off of others to produce a greater swing, plus Vanguard had done about similar even still in Sharo prior to that. That meant the rising power would very likely be about to unveil itself in the following move rather than this one, taking note instead of the defense next. That likely wasn't the one that was brought up to keep an eye out for, but was still one he should see about activating as often as possible to get through it. It was a defense that nothing could penetrate otherwise until it had run out of resources, noting Armiger here and the fact that he did so without waiting. He could see why Vanguard just shoved Centurion aside without giving him any chance to do otherwise if that was the case. Then he would find out how the advice they had prior to the battle would go with Armiger as a proper sample when the time arrived. In the meantime he would extend out chains from his left arm to attach to the swords he had fired before to send them back at Var, knowing that Vanguard would be starting up his own attack in earnest so he wouldn't need to produce his own offense in kind as of yet.*
