Vanguard struggles to keep up with the speed of the unnamed last survivor, but listens to his exposition and shakes his head. Another self-entitled individual sure that their own way was the best way; did Var and his people never learn? Did they all share a mentality that couldn't be broken; that all others were lost and foregone?
Still, what he was surprised about was the sudden shift of weight, as suddenly the band that he had wrapped around his arm was now in Forte's hand. Vanguard's eyes rounded as Forte reduced its color and left the band as a lifeless husk, watching Var's power getting drained. His immediate thoughts were if the drain was temporary, if there was anything that could be done, and how aware Var was of that in that moment.
Casting caution to the wind, Vanguard exerted his own burst of speed - nothing in comparison to the shows of alacrity from the unnamed survivor - and dashed towards where the band was discarded. Power or no power, that was what remained of Var's body, and he promised to keep it safe. A promise already lost, he would do what he could to maintain it from here on, and grabbed at the piece just in time for the first of the explosions to rock the network.
Even if he wasn't moving as fast as these two, Vanguard's vision was still superb. Seeing all around him at once, Vanguard grabbed up the band, colorless and devoid of power, and wrapped it back around his arm. Dematerializing, he slipped through the first of the waves of pure destructive power, and began working with his renewed speed and vigor to maneuver his way through the rest of the chain reactions and explosions, welling up that kinetic energy and then dispersing it as a mighty wall of flames to separate him from the explosions.
Once it was all said and done, he crushed a charged red chip into his palm and let that energy flood over his body. Pressing forward, he tossed another kunai at the original navi, and then held up his hand, forming a reticle in the air that he then sent meteors flying out of. For every explosion that Forte unleashed, Vanguard would unleash a rain of meteors for the original navi to deal with, a red aura coiling around Vanguard causing the meteor swarm to double, before he charged forward with his own sword, using it a tad different from the master. Spinning about rapidly, Vanguard consumed himself into a sphere of dark energy, and sent the swords out from the sphere like a spiked ball, and spun himself towards Forte.

Burai watched as history was confirmed, as were the warnings that he had been given up to this point. Forte held within his grasp, and then completely drained, Var. Burai's eyes scanned over Forte, seeing the potential, then, and knowing what it was that he wanted to do.
That rainbow of power flooded from Laplace as Burai charged forward, the golden glyph on his chest flaring prominently as that power surged through him. Holding out his hand, Burai carved a word into the air, a powerful glyph in a language powerful enough to shape reality, and sent that power through the air at Forte.
"You enjoy new modes of power, then, hmm? Then maybe I can level this playing field," Burai said simply, reaching out at the new power that Forte had manifested . . .
. . . as a rainbow of waves rolled off of him and tried to amplify it.
"I'll show you what real contempt can look like. You and I aren't all that different."

As Vanguard would make his move she would glance toward him for a moment, but would keep her gaze on Forte after. She offered up a nod to Burai's words however, but that was the last of the attention she would offer in that direction. That was the correct way to go about his point of view. While it wouldn't alter any looking down or the like, it at least established that he was aware that they each had their own unexplored territories. And those beliefs against one another, which one could go further than the other, was Burai's way of holding firm that his beliefs stood over those that stood against him. Forte's move had obtained his next objective on his way forward too of course, as rather than go for Var for any ability that Var had, all he desired was the ability to interact at all. Var would still be a byproduct of the relics used by the people Forte despised. While he would use the power as required, more than anything it was better to cement his own absolute power by being able to interface with them directly of his own accord. She hadn't taken an offensive move like Vanguard had and kept out of the way of the all-encompassing shots and was clear that for the time being she was still observing even after mentioning that they had been dragged into this.
"Don't worry about Var. He'll be fine. Focus on what you're doing."

Forte virtually ignores Vanguard's would-be assault, raising his Dark Aura again in response while still looking on to Burai. The original Navi faces down the last Murian as he feels his ability to access this strange new power extend to him. In response to the newly opened channel between the two of them, Burai would experience something in return from Forte...
....pure, unbridled hatred.
Forte's hand rises and his eyes narrow. From him rises a pressure so strong that everyone on the field would drop to their knees if they didn't focus on staying upright constantly, and from this pressure comes a seething revile of Burai's words.
Forte GS: You are nothing, and I am everything.
The feeling rolling off of Forte takes a radical shift. Not only is his power fully active, the power of Gospel surges to even greater heights. Soon, Forte's arm once again shifts into the visage of the great Bug Beast, and from its gaping maw erupts a spreading gout of crimson-red flames. The attack bathes the entire network in its strange heat while severely glitched claws materialize it mid-air and drop like meteors onto both Burai and Vanguard. The power of Forte GS is now truly on display, and the ruinous effects of his judgment have begun.
Defense Phase:
True Dark Aura The power of the apex of all auras manifest: one of the most powerful defensive measures in existence. Uncuttable Aura. The HP of this aura equates to the highest damage attack used by an opponent this turn plus 10%. Ignores all effects that could bypass it or drain uses save "Cuts Uncuttable Auras" Lasts 1 turn 3x use/battle. [ 4,603 HP] All attacks avoided. [1 use remaining]
Murian Exodus: Effect denied
Get Ability Forte's innate power; devastating in its threat, debilitating in its practice. At any time during a battle, Forte may "steal" any effect from a given opponent and add its power to himself, rendering this effect unusable to the opponent for the remainder of the battle. If an effect is stolen during the user's defense phase, then the effect is retroactively removed from the opponent's previous turn. If effects are removed from attacks or skills, then similar effects are removed from all attacks or skills even if they innately have the effect available. 1x use per turn maximum.
Target: Burai
Used on: Divine Defense
Get Ability2 On activation, unavoidably steals one type of active buff or preparation measure used by a target this turn and applies it as the user sees fit 1 turn cooldown.
Target: Burai. Used On: Full Turn Charges, 8x Full Turn Charges stolen

Vanguard grimaced as Forte's power continued to grow, and incredible spite and malevolence filling the space. If there was anything that was intended for Vanguard to be able to destroy, perhaps his creators were thinking of Forte when they redesigned him.
On that note, what, exactly, were they thinking Vanguard would be able to do against this?
As his eyes moved, so did his body, Vanguard carefully maneuvering around the space that just being near Forte had turned into a gravesite. As Gospel's licking flames scorched the battlefield, Vanguard broke down into his energy form to maneuver about, and threw up a wall of purple flames to protect himself from the falling claws. He never stopped moving throughout the whole endeavor, and just as he was almost at his limit, he surged another power from within, as a white glow furled off of his body and allowed him to turn into shadow to evade the last pair of claws.
For his credit, he was still standing. Still storing power within himself, and needing Forte to use that impenetrable barrier just one last time, Vanguard held up his cannon arm, loaded in a chip, and let that power flow, as he unleashed the attack that had become something of his calling card, a white-hot whistle of purple flames compressed into a hair-fine beam to cut through Forte.

Burai was prepared for it, in a way, to go this way. The rejection of his gifts made his plan fall short, but he would be a fool to think that one plan would get him results.
Forte reached out and denied him his creator's splendor, the metallic sheen on his body being ripped away. The malevolence that Forte radiated was only bested by the loneliness that Burai exuded, the two extremes giving way to a powerful conflict. As Forte rent away one defense, however, Burai's most powerful defense still shone true.
Burai stood still as the power washed over him, the Murian sigils forming around his body and creating the impenetrable veil at every conceivable angle as it was necessary. Wave after wave of flames and claws berated him, and with every new wave, the barrier seemed stronger.
Using the same attack in succession would not pierce his loneliness; just as using the same method and expecting different results would bear him no fruit. As the storm relented, Burai stood strong, his gaze ripping the heat from the air as he lifted himself up, floating through through the bugged mass with a veil of waves around him as a shield.
"Hmph!" Holding up one hand, Burai met back Forte's assault with one of his own of equal magnitude, Murian symbols forming around his forearm and unleashing into the air. The sky was filled with waves as though by his own decree, and, suddenly, those waves coalesced into hundreds of swords that rained down, seemingly without end, even ripping through Forte's powerful defenses if he did not have more to offer Burai than before.

For his credit, he was still standing. She wouldn't need to do anything for him yet then. This was no doubt an eye-opener when he would realize that his creators may have lacked some foresight if they intended for him to contend with Forte as he was. From Vanguard's point of view he had gotten close to dealing with the one defense that Forte had used primarily thus far and one that he should be familiar with. It lived on in story for a reason. And now he should be face to face with the fact with the words Forte had flung at them before if Vanguard hadn't been aware of their weight before. He would crush all petty plans against him and ruin the world in his wake should that be his choice, for that was the decisions made by one who was everything. In that, the thought process always at least aligned eventually. Vanguard should have become aware of where he stood when it came to making a plan for something like this. He may have gotten out of the first step without having to prove himself against the oppressive onslaught, but that was only the first step. And this was only the first of the powers at Forte's disposal.

Forte's focus remains solely on Burai as Vanguard readies his next shot. After the bullet of darkness begins its flight, Forte raises his hand towards Burai. As he does so, the mere movement of his cloak deflects Vanguard's attack and launches a spark of pure white light back in his direction. This motion also sees Forte holding his hand towards Burai; a motion that is always a frightening prospect from the original Navi.
Forte GS: You are strong, human. You've earned the right to have me actually begin paying attention to this fight, so don't disappoint me now.
Bugfrags flow from Forte's body to his hand in a helix, passing through his cloak and taking form of a random mass. The bugs then harden and shape themselves, bringing about the visage of Gospel once again. However, this time the bug beast's head appears in all of its horrid glory, looking through Burai with soulless, red eyes as it opens its gaping maw to the wellspring of power within itself, and unleashes a white light of furious and terrible power. The light flashes out, and in its wake comes an incalculably powerful beam of condensed power. The beam pierces through Burai and engulfs him, obliterating a large hole in the hull of Eden behind him as a secondary explosion decompresses from ground-zero of Forte GS's ultimate attack, and rocks the entire space station. A second later, Eden begins to list to the side and all power shuts down, turning the space station into space debris floating in orbit while the vacuum of space viciously drains the station of every bit of remaining gas.
In the end, the battlefield is broken and shattered, and Forte looks on from behind the head of Gospel, still radiating the white-hot energy from one of his attacks of absolute power: Vanishing World.
Defense Phase:
Raiments of Order The defensive powers of Serenade utilized to deadly effect. Unbreakable shield. After initial activation, automatically blocks the first three full attacks aimed at the user each turn, or the first five if the user only uses one active attack this turn. Each attack blocked launches a 200 damage counter. This skill may be shut off and reactivated at will.
[Dark Cannon blocked]
Offense Phase:
Vanishing World S-Attack Bug Element A cataclysmic beam that represents the true power of the great Bug Beast itself. All is ruined within its wake. Instantly and unavoidably drops all targets to 1 HP and disables all healing effects for the turn. If any effected target has 5 or more glitches stacked when this attack is used, that target is unavoidably deleted. Forte GS is unable to use Gospel-based attacks for 1 turn after this attack is used.

She knew another defense would come into play from Forte sooner or later. Vanguard might not have known which that one was and in fact it would make sense if few did. Not many walked away from that particular opponent after they chose to engage after all. She would explain each in detail later if she was asked about it, but seeing the head begin to be reared she knew exactly what was coming next. So rather than maintain her neutral stance, she instead would start raising her own hand as the all-encompassing shot was fired. The absolute power would tear clean through Eden as it began its descent, but those blinded by the light and on the receiving end, perhaps even the one firing now that he was beginning to focus more on the one would have missed her own actions in the course of that event. But if they had noticed, they would notice her looking to her own right hand now after the attack had passed through, her eyes seeming vacant as she observed.
"So it does line up with my observations. Fascinating, but still..."
Her eyes focused back in, narrowing her eyes instead. She supposed this would have to do for this particular struggle today. Burai was in the fight and Vanguard would be removed from the fight soon, so it was left up to her in order to change that particular example. Burai's problem was once again in the approach that he took from the beginning, but this wasn't beyond her ability to approach. And so without a warning in the slightest, she would act as she then aimed that very same hand in a very pointed direction.
It was a set of blindingly fast light unleashed in an instant in the middle of the space separating Burai and Forte. Both would be able to calculate the result as soon as it made landfall, as the corrupted network and Eden itself shattered at its very seams and split them apart from another. The network had been shattered and destroyed in a moment, possibly from the weakening that it had gone through from the Vanishing World just then. But just as quickly as it was destroyed, the portion with Forte would repair itself as instead the three of them would be ejected as a result with nothing to use as their own medium in the vacuum of space. The space station likewise would be mitigated in its fall now due to the greater scale of destruction that was unleashed.
...Or so one would have surmised in the brief moment that separated them, one that would otherwise simply drag them right back into the conflict. They instead found themselves somewhere where they could no longer see Eden or the Earth as a result. It was a foreign space with no signs that it was even there a moment ago. And to replace the terrifying presence that Forte had held over them, there was something else that loomed here that had gone unnoticed.

....robbed of his target and his prey alike. Time and space wouldn't save them, and with this they knew: seething, burning hate still pierces through them despite the incalculable distance. Wherever they may be, Forte's wrath would not be quelled.
...and then, it stops. From the remains of Eden, Forte's signature disappears as quickly as it had appeared, leaving the wreckage to float in its dark grave for eternity.

There was the burning hate that she was accustomed to. He certainly would be looking back at this moment with all the wrath that he could muster. But when it stopped and he was gone, she knew that it meant he had found the other part that he had been missing for quite some time now. It was good she supposed that it kept them out of sight for a moment, but it would only be that. She would tell them to enjoy the respite, but she preferred if they kept themselves constantly aware of the actual gravity of their situation.
"Before you think I did anyone here a service, I will remind you that time and space are also within his field of expertise. They simply were not at the current moment and because I could see that, I offered you your way out. And while that isn't exactly the things that stopped him from a continued pursuit, I don't recommend you decide to hurl yourself back at him. But if you prefer to fight contempt with contempt, I can find a way to get you back to him. It will be quite the revelation. If you prefer to no longer be risking life and limb where you did not need to, you should be on your way."
As always she was willing to leave the choices on the table. After all, it was his choices that got him this far just the same. It would be those very same choices that took him elsewhere. If he would rather settle his scores later and get back to his primary task, that was an option afforded to him now that he had the moment to consider that option.

As Forte made his statement clear, Burai held down his sword and prepared for the worst, and Vanguard paused in his tracks to prepare for just about the same. As the cataclysmic force was unleashed on all sides, the white-hot destruction of raw force unleashed shattered Eden apart, and the force of the strength tore through even Burai's impenetrable barrier.
What followed, though, was fast. Burai saw the power at work and understood what was going on, as Mistair tore apart the Network that Forte had built at its seams, and then rebuilt it an instant later with only Forte inside of it. Burai was still able to produce his own Wave World, through the power of the creator, but as Mistair and Vanguard were ejected from their medium, Mistair seemingly rebuilt the very world around them, imposing a space not unlike how Le Mu could open the Undimension quite literally anywhere.
Although the damage sustained from the Vanishing World was great, Burai recovered from it quickly, the very wave world he produced rapidly restoring him. His blood was still boiling, but from Mistair's statement, and the sensation of dread that followed them into even this space, Burai knew when it was time to argue and when it was time to simply act.
". . . I can't be on my way, quite yet," he answered, simply holding out the Laplace blade to Mistair. "The Murian Heralds within are no longer necessary to me, and it would be a disservice to the problem you all are up against to haphazardly take potential resources away from your world.
". . . your power also isn't lost on me, but I don't quite understand how you do it. The way you see the Wave World, Navis, the things you work with . . . it is on par to, if not even surpassing, dare I say it, that of the Maker. The one made of static, Immortalis, has been augmenting the Murian deities and artifacts as I've collected them. I've no interest bringing any unbidden threats back to my timeline.
"Can you undo what he has done? Even I can recognize when there is one capable of something that I do not yet have within my grasp. If you can, or can't, I suppose, then I will be on my way."
For all his blunder and bluster, Burai proved in a moment his own intelligence, and that he did see things beyond just his circumstances. He was ancient in comparison to the humans of this time, after all.
Vanguard looked at Mistair, his own wounds recovering much slower in comparison, without any natural means to restore his condition. His flames sparked in response, keeping his energy up, while he looked around this strange place that Mistair had imposed over the previous space. There was some looming presence in the air, as though something was lurking about, just out of sight.
He had been caught unaware and off guard in Eden, taking the reprieve of privacy for a moment. He didn't want to be caught unaware in here; not again.

It looked as though he was willing to calm down now, using his intellect more than his contempt. That was a satisfactory result as it meant that he wouldn't need to have any further problems. There would be a different sort of dilemma but one that she would bring up after addressing what he stated. The first would be the heralds that he possessed, her vacant eyes glancing over Laplace only briefly and instead keeping them on Burai.
"Those Murian Heralds are fine for you keep. As a resource, the people would only use them as kamikaze units at best. That would be more of a disservice to your people, would it not?"
Because it meant that they would just be used as suicide bombers because it made sense from their perspective to never trust a resource that was once tampered with by another person. The next would be something more pressing to Burai himself as it was related to what he had been here for to begin with. And again he would have an answer, though the implications of that answer were something else as well.
"If you had fought Forte for longer and I was more awake thanks to that, I would be able to do so without any issues. But given where we are on top of the fight ending before a desired point, it isn't in my grasp to rectify what he's done."

Glancing down at the edge of the Laplace blade, Burai realized that he hadn't considered what this era would be able to do with the Heralds, especially considering what he felt that occurred during the middle of his fight with Forte.
It would be a disservice for them to be turned into kamikaze units all over again, as it were. Not that they would be of much use to him anymore, and if he were to unleash them on his side, they would only accomplish so much. Plesio, at the very least, deserved his rest. Much like Var, Plesio took the side of veering away from its purpose, and just wanted to enjoy the beautiful little planet that its creator wanted to conquer.
When her next comment came up, however, Burai raised his vision back to her, arcing an eyebrow. The way she worded that . . . there was no way that was a coincidence, as it was the exact terminology he's been using to describe the limitations of the Maker, and what his people's understandings of Her limitations were.
Whereas the Maker's need for awakening was exaltation, was her need for awakening based on something regarding battle? Analysis? Her requirement for survival? There were many questions that he had, many concerns regarding the connecting lines, and just what this individual was in comparison to the Maker. Given the nature of their current predicament, he didn't have time to analyze this in full. In truth, time was something he had ran out of quite some time ago, and he was risking much more by being here than just running into Forte again.
"Hmph. That isn't helpful. If it were an easy deal to awaken you further, I would accomplish that, but I don't imagine if it were an easy deal it would require further confrontation between him and I to accomplish. This makes my blood boil . . ." He pauses and turns about, holding the Laplace edge in his hand. "I'm a danger to my world if I return, though, aren't I? . . . Insufferable engineer, that one is." He was at a loss of what to do, his objective complete, but his ultimate goal compromised along the way. There was no telling how much Immortalis had interacted with the Mu Metal, the key hope for his plan to move forward.
Vanguard, for his part, was paying attention to Mistair's statement, but had long ago decided it was not within his range of interest to question what Mistair was capable of, and was much easier to perhaps quantify what she wasn't. So far, the only thing Mistair proved incapable of was disappointing her allies. He had noticed, over time, as well, like some alien presence had infiltrated and acted on Mistair's behalf, before falling back asleep. It concerned him, in many ways, but there was no reason for him to not continue to trust her, all in all. She would probably chide him for not being concerned by the power she presented.
Still on guard, however, he kept his eyes on the sky, and on the space around them, unsure when this looming danger would rear its head.

It no doubt made his blood boil that he was robbed of so many things right when his goal would be acquired. After all, he had come here for something he had no other way of obtaining. Now he couldn't return without endangering everything he had gathered those very things for, yet alone go anywhere else to find anything like it. He certainly had found himself in quite the predicament even while he was trying to keep his head down.
"While I would say it is unhelpful from my point of view for it to be 'difficult', I am aware that were it easy for me to be awakened that I would be... I suppose frigid is a word that can work. The people involved demand it of me."
It would be up for others to discern specifically what she meant by that. But she would move on from that and hold her hand out to him. It wasn't for him to take it or anything, but it would lead into what she was going to say next all the same. The gesture would make more sense to him once he vocalized it himself.
"But you helped me by putting me on his radar. That will make life much easier for me, and so I will return the favor to you. What was it that you required for your ultimate goal again? Be quick with your answer."
Burai wouldn't feel it, but Vanguard would for why she had asked him to be quick in his response. The presence that was looming over them felt as though it were encroaching upon them. They were still in a hostile environment, and whatever it was surrounded them through what felt like any perceivable angle.

The last survivor listened to her words carefully. Being on Forte's radar would improve her chances of being awoken, then? So it was truly a system of checks and balances, in that case. He didn't have time to consider the implications fully, however, as it was evident based on the one wielding Var that whatever was coming was coming quickly.
As she held out her hand and asked him her question, he considered the true meaning he came all this way. He'd only fully shared it to one other person . . . there would be no danger sharing it here, if it meant she could deal with this inconvenience. Prideful though he was, he was not so to be able to blindly ignore when he was simply incapable.
". . . The Mu Metal that Sirius held was created as a means to replicate the power and influence of Le Mu on other worlds, giving her more idols to be exalted from. Fused with the edge of the Laplace Blade . . . I can use the Murian Language stored within it to recreate anything I witnessed the destruction of . . . or create new Murians entirely.
"That's why I need the Mu Metal. For my people."

"The Laplace Blade and the Mu Metal then."
The first would appear from her hand as the Laplace Blade was now as two spitting images, the next the metal and the next the metal going into the blade. It would hover back to Burai then, what he needed for his people. He had only asked for the Mu Metal, but why would she then create the Laplace as part of what he needed? ...Was it because he said he needed it fused with the edge of the Laplace Blade? Which could only lead to one possible conclusion for why she would do such a thing.
"If the one you carry is merely a tool, you had best discard him now. The repercussions are already there for you, but they could be worse."
