"Heh, are you trying to imply that you were only counting them!? I doubt that!" Grade was convinced he saw past that lie, no matter how logical it is, and was relatively unfazed by the snowman's head that followed. He drew a line at the air with his finger and sliced the ice head in half, both halves missing him entirely. He eyed at Shine keenly, her grin as she held a bigger ice orb over her head. It seemed as if she was challenging him. He wondered how much that thing weighed. She was unusually physically strong for her lithe figure, he thought. He figured he'd try to match her in that regard too. A handle appeared in his hand and spun, until Grade grasped it. A triangular neon blade then shot out from the handle, which then glowed the number '3' in red. "Come on," Grade muttered to himself, tilting forward as he held the scharfrichter to the side, ready to slice whatever came next. Battle 7/10

Now at this point she was basically trying to sell her product to him. But of course she still launched the headless-snowman at him, her figure indeed having more strength behind it than met the eye.
" Why, you could even plan a proper robbery if you knew how much you needed to steal! -- Not that I condone that of course. But what people do with my information is their own business! I'm just trying to make a living here! "
A pitiful way to earn her coin, really, but it was what she enjoyed doing so may as well make a profession out of it. Gathering random information, that is -- not just counting things.
She didn't attack further after that. Wouldn't want to harm a potential customer! ... more!
" That all said, I'd be willing to share my findings with you, for a price. "
She paused for a moment, as if he needed time to think about it.
" Don't you wanna know how many there are? Where they all came from? The hue of their red color? Their width? Height? Rotations per second? Distance they hover off the ground? Aren't these mysteries just eating you alive?! Surely you want to know! And the answer is just a few zenny away! "
Well, and a bit more time to collect said information of course. But semantics.

Grade jumped up and sliced the snowman diagonally in half, and he then spun through it and landed kneeling. The glowing number on the sword counted down to '2'. So that's what that number meant. He spun the sword on his palm and then made it vanish, to use at a later time, as he stood up and began to walk towards Shine while listening to her speech. His hands inhabited his side pockets, noting that it was somewhat cold, especially with his jacket not covering his midriff at all. So, she wasn't interested in stealing them; she was just overly analyzing them... Somehow that's even weirder, he thought. He doubted such minuscule details would matter to anyone who would indeed attempt to steal all of that Mystery Data, considering every Navi has near-limitless storage space anyway. "Not interested... Those questions, I can find the answers myself." His own set of emerald eyes glowed as he said it. "No, I doubt you have the kind of information I desire." He stopped five feet away from Shine. If there was a question from Shine about what kind of information Grade desired, he didn't answer it. Instead, he bowed in front of her, with eyes closed. "I mistook you for a thief. I'm sorry. Please do to me what you will." Battle 8/10

" Oh, I'm still a thief. I just don't steal petty things, like... things. "
It made less sense when she said it out loud.
" Well, if there's ever any information you want sought out and discovered, you know who to call! "
And as if none of their quarreling had ever happened, Shine skipped away once again to go fulfill her mission to count the data under the tree.

Grade lifted his head and stood straight, wondering if she just couldn't think of an example for 'petty things'. He chuckled to himself. He thought it was adorable. Grade was about to turn around and leave, reminding himself to call her sometime in the future, but-- "Wait, you..." "I still don't know your name." Grade was relieved he caught that himself too; he'd have hated himself if he didn't. All the while, he was wondering whether to give her his actual name or the falsehoods he'd given the many others who asked him, but did it really matter if people knew his real name? He's possibly deluded, but he warily believed that it did. Battle 9/10

" It's Shine! The famous info bandit! "
Surely he knew who she was, as notorious as her reputation was... surely? She was THE Shine. Everyone knew who THE Shine was!
Well, in her mind at least that was the case.
At any rate, back to business she went with all intrusions out of the way now, happily tallying her count on a notepad so that should wouldn't get thrown off in the event that anymore popped up before she finished.

Famous... Shine, Shine... Nope, didn't ring any bells. First time he's heard of a Navi named Shine. He shrugged; it didn't really matter. Not everyone knows everyone, he thought. He walked closer to Shine and the tree, so that he wouldn't have to yell; and he decided against leaving for now and instead would just sit on the ground and watch her count it all again. "Well, I'm Grade by the way. I... I don't have a title yet. Also, I do know how many Mystery Data is in that pile. The number just popped in my head when I, I did the..." and he gestured the same two initial arm movements he did when he casted that wind spell, albeit with way less enthusiasm. "I believe you owe me some NetCream too." Battle 10/10

Wacko's Battle Grading!Feel the dread... Style: I generally enjoyed the RP on both ends of this 'battle', it felt like the characters were well-written - unique thief who...doesn't steal 'things' versus the other unique person. Overall, it was a fun read, in my opinion, especially given the different scenario. Style Scoring? I say both sides did well, but one side shone (Shined, even) a bit more. This statement mildly conflicts with the 20 both sides are getting here. === Articulation: How well things are specified, eh...? At the beginning, when the battle was going on, I'd say both sides were neck-and-neck [scarf included], but as the actual battle died down, one side kept up the details and specifics more than the other. It's easy to forget additional details when one isn't battling (a lesson for myself too). I won't drag this on longer. Overall, don't forget to add details when RPing, even if you aren't exactly having a full-on brawl. Articulation Scores! 20 for Shine. 10 for Grade. ===== Balance: I say both sides did very well here too. There was a nice bit of balance from both RPers with neither side going out-of-character and such. Due to this not being a 'battle to deletion', that helped keep things rather simple too. And the 'matched to V1' was felt. There were no crazy 'superpowers' and such here (aside from...uh...a high-speed bite?) Balance Scores! 20 for both sides here too. ====== Length: No-one's posts felt like they were too verbose, nor did I skip ahead either. Lengths were decent. Though I will admit Shine seemed to have more going on in her 'RP turn' than Grade's, but nothing to deduct points for. If I were a guest, I think I'd have a good time reading this matchup. Length scoring! 10 on both sides foreheads. ======= Emotion:~ The emotions here were carried out well at certain parts, though I hate to admit it felt like they were almost forgotten at certain points. I can't put my finger on it, but it's like someone stole it from both sides at some parts of this 'battle'. Like someone was playing with a light switch... Emotional Scars... Emotion Scoring: A 5 for both sides. ====== Judge Points: I'd like to see both navis in more...hm...emotional distress? This was fun and lighthearted, but I'd like to see MORE! though I guess that boils down to both navis' growth... Both sides were pretty cool as far as battle style and I enjoyed that part a LOT (it was even kinda anime-ish, as far as a 1-v-1 between V1s can be, I guess) Dishing out a 5 for both of you! ======= Final Scores! Shine: 80 points!Grade: 70 points!
