Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard watched with concern as a leash spontaneously appeared in Mistair's outstretched hand, frowning as she continued to speak with and interact with an otherwise invisible entity. Walking forward to close the space (effectively walking right through Edge) between he and Mistair, he noted with a small twinge of relief that she had the strength to smile.
So, whoever it was, she had the means to stand against them and deny them access to her actions. Whatever it may be, she could still make her own choices. Their alliance up until now wasn't a lie.
His shoulders noticeably sagged, as though a weight were lifted off of them. "Good," he said, rather anticlimatically, turning to look back in the direction of whatever it was Mistair had been talking to, and then turning to look back at the leash in her hand. "All I needed to know is that I can still trust someone. When you are ready, and whenever one or both of us stop hallucinating, we can move on to our meeting."

"I think we're both ready to move on to our meeting."
She would pawn the leash back on to Vanguard's likely poltergeist since he would probably need it for someone else later. This might not be the start of their proper counterattack, but it would be the start of their own initiative. They had made moves, but many of them were in reaction to what they had thrown at them thanks to the machinations of others. And while they were right to have concerns against their decisions, they would have another source to make them with at the Forest Network they were heading to now.

Edge reaches behind himself and takes the leash without giving Misair so much as the time of day. By this point he's almost enthralled with Vanguard and considering his options. Finally, he snaps his fingers.
Edge: A bit simple, but it should get the point across.
Edge turns to Misair and smiles. The launchers on his wrists ignite with a flash of green and a pair of white saw-blades of energy appear. A wry smile crosses his face as he stares down Misair and revs the speed of his weapons to an insane speed.
Edge: Ready for a bit of fun?
Edge launches like lightning. The two blades on his arm are thrown to the sides, anchored by glowing green chains that Edge quickly yanks to the side. Within a second, the green, mirrored Navi is performing some sort of "dance" with the twin weapons, spinning them around with tremendous speed without ever having them collide with each-other. The result of this show of speed and skill is a small cyclone that kicks up the earth below and quickly starts a dust-devil that cloaks Edge from sight entirely.
....and this is the point that Misair would find something extremely odd. With Edge hidden from her sight, any additional sensors that she may use would all show the same reading: Edge was literally at every single point in the network at the same time. Take that to mean whatever she may, this only continues for a moment until the dust-storm dies down and sensors would once again be able to see Edge's location; right behind Vanguard, where he's now standing and waving across the way.
Edge: Figured the kid needed a bit of advice, so I left it for him. Have yourself a good day!
Edge smiles and teleports out. A second later, the last remnants of the dust-storm have ended. Edge had done a surprisingly large amount of damage to the ground, leaving behind rubble and countless gashes in the ground. But one set of gashes stands out for being particularly deep. A set at Misair's feet that obviously spell out something....
