#s://i~imgur~com/AESZGIl~png Faith seemed frozen in motion as the lupine negated Genesis' assault and began its own ruthless barrage of strikes against her; its Temporal Pause freezing both her and the Overload in their places.
~*THAP!*~
... as its first strike connected, though, Faith's stance suddenly changed -- going from the lunging position of her previous attack and now in a defensive posture, deflecting the attack that K-358 had just swung at her, the collision causing that sound of paw meeting hand.
~*THAP!THAP!THAP!*~
Its next three attempts saw the same results. It appeared to have happened in a single frame of movement each time, as if touching her caused her body to suddenly and instantly change poise to protect against each of the blows, but still frozen in place afterward.
~*THA-THA-THA-THA-THA-THA-THA-THA-THA-THAP!*~
The rest of the rapid barrage almost made it appear that she actually was moving at normal speed despite K-358's Temporal Pause, and as he moved onto his next target this suspicion was confirmed -- Faith's crimson eyes following him as the rest of her body slowly began to unfreeze now that he was done with her.
She wasn't quite done with him yet, however.
" My fight isn't with you. "
Time functioned differently in the Cyber World than in the Real World, but the way a Navi processed it wasn't much different than the way that a Pulsed-In human would. A Pulsed-Out human would experience the two separate "clockspeeds" rather differently though, and what was unique about Faith was being able to skirt that state of being Pulsed-In and Out, conscious of both her Real World and Cyber World bodies at the same time. It was much like lucid dreaming in a sense, even to the point of it being dubbed lucid transmission.
There was more to her explanation though: she was a deft learner, and she had seen a similar technique once before when Warrior and Feint were fighting each other. That one occasion was all she needed to be able to form a solution against it here.
As K-358 dove into the inferno of Vanguard's arrival, the green blur he left in his wake was matched by a crimson haze of rivaling hue; Faith having broken from her stasis fully now and meeting him in the flames. Within the pillar of fire, Faith challenged his assault, weaving between the new arrivals to deflect each of his attacks that were directed at them.
" ! "
Joker's sudden return drew them both away -- the lupine moving on to attack Genesis now while Faith maneuvered out of the immediate blast zone from the armored behemoth. Genesis seemed fine after the fact, and there was a short enough pause for her to continue her words with K-358. She was here to fight Deav and Deav alone.
" Step asi-- "
When suddenly the Overlord unleashed an attack that seemingly banished the hound from existence before her very eyes. She looked back at Genesis, displeased at first, but her eyes trailed past him and onto Joker now who she could only assume was the lupine's owner, so she'd finish her sentence toward him instead.
" Step aside. This isn't between us. "
Her sharp gaze would feel like a cut from a dagger, though she made no further offensive actions toward Joker. He was well enough to the side as is at least, just a matter of not interfering was what she wanted from him now. If he had a bone to pick with Genesis, however, then by all means, let all scores be settled here this day, just tone down the splash zone while more important matters were at hand.
"You'll be overjoyed to know that what you're here for is off the table."
" ! "
Faith turned around in time to meet Deav's attacks now, her overclocked state helping to evade most of it, but it burnt out just toward the end where he'd reached to grab her.
She'd seen this before -- he siphoned the life from anyone he touched, consuming their data to feed his own vitality.
" I'll be overjoyed when you're dead. "
She took her dagger to her own forearm, not cutting too deeply to severely hinder herself, but enough that her blood bathed the weapon's edge. While Deav could indeed absorb digital bodies into his own, even this digital body that housed Faith's own consciousness, there was a bit of her that wasn't directly compatible with a Net Navi's coding: her human DNA.
She was virtualized, but there were still traces of it even in her virtual blood, a fact Deav would no doubt find himself aware of soon enough. Even the dagger seemed to be glitching and its shape constantly defecting just by being in contact with the blood. She was her own kind of virus, and to the others there, that's all they'd be able to make of the interaction.
As his hand reached forward, she shuffled back and thrust the dagger directly into his palm, retracting back immediately before he'd be able to close his grip around it. It was a daring gamble to say the least, but if proven successful then she'd have a secured way of hurting him now.

You know, she found it kind of funny now that the words were left behind even in reverse. That she was in fire, that is. She'd take her crude humor sparingly though, as she also was aware that things weren't exactly peaceful here, taking action now rather than later. Turned out that was the right move as the green and red blurs decided to dance around them for a bit. What was it with speedy people and--, her defense cracked, placing a hand on Vanguard's shoulder and moving him back just slightly as another formed up. Another layer seemed to form during the crimson onslaught, but ultimately the pair managed to touch down unscathed thanks to a combination of events. And before they could say anything else, the green blur suffered the unbridled discrimination of the Onyx Overlord.
"Was that necessary? ...No, it was. What's going on here?"
She was going to say that it was unrequired but she had bad memories of the times she said that and someone came to bite her for it. While being merciless to all challengers wasn't exactly ideal, it got the message across for every person that would follow to not haphazardly attack each other. The lesson didn't stick for everyone, but it looked like they had one smaller armored one and one oversized one. Vamin was larger so the intimidation factor was off the table, but she was sizing things up for now and would do the rest after that.

K-358.EXE
K-358 was running as fast as he could, moving from target to target, but, which each successful swing and ramping up of his speed, each target seemed to have their own means of dealing with him. He growled, stopping and turning on his heel to prepare a more powerful assault, as the space around him suddenly felt very claustrophobic. The very air crushed and warped, as the space he existed within tried to correct itself of some strange anomaly. Unfortunately, that anomaly seemed to be him - the very space crushed him, as he yelped out in fury and in pain -
- and K-358.EXE was no more.
[K-358.EXE, DELETED]
Joker.DB
Joker raised an eyebrow as the Overlord suddenly started moving, his sneer shifting into his usual deadpan expression. Seems he didn't give the speedster enough test runs before putting him out in the field; he still didn't have a full understanding of what the Temporal Element could do. Nor what its limitations were. Apparently, the Onyx Overlord did, and he would capitalize on it.
He watched as the force of his initial burst was batted aside, and the rest of his onslaught was taken head-on. At the very least, that meant his Dread Satellite Laser could put a scratch on the overlord - or at the very least concern him enough to not take the blow outright. Still, what the overlord said was very true - he didn't have the resources, nor the power, to stand against him, especially not with the full onslaught on its way.
There were times to show one's strength, and there were times that it was best saved. This time, it was the latter. Joker took his hint, noted his losses, and decided it was best to just get out while he was still standing. Turning back into the glitching gateway behind him, Joker stepped into the glitched space between Networks, and the gateway closed behind him.
[[JOKER EXITS => ???]]
Vanguard.EXE
The world around him was very slow, but, his eyes were not. Vanguard followed the green blur up into the air before him, and was preparing his own defense as Mistair responded first. Pausing his own advances, he allowed the countess to do that which she did best, and he prepared for what he did best.
Vanguard dropped down, a little scraped from the large red haze, but mostly unharmed. He felt something strange in the air, and looked up to analyze his targets. Almost immediately, one of them - the larger one, with an invasive amount of red on them - left the area. He narrowed his gaze, confused, and followed his vision over to a young woman driving her dagger into -
"Lord Deav?" Vanguard called out, frowning. His own reaver eye could not help but activating within the presence of the reaverking, just as it did with Vamin, his left eye's usual white hue drowning out into the red circle with a single black retina. He looked around, noting the Onyx Overlord's presence. He met eyes with him, aware that his reaver eye was showing, and nodded to him before he turned back to look at Deav.
"Not just Vamin, then? The entire Reaver force is answering to their orders? I thought you would have more pride than that, Deav," he said candidly, as though talking to someone he recognized. He was sure Mistair's questions were rising over time, and, given more time, she would have the ability to ask questions. "Unfortunate that I was not informed. You stand with people that have put me, my conviction and my partners in danger. For all that we used to do together, that is a slight I will not forgive."
Vanguard raised his hand, his verniers expelling Darklight flames around his fist. Information sprawled itself across his visor as he analyzed Deav's integral code stream, analyzing his code for the most efficient place of attack. "The reaverkings each embody an inevitable force made manifest. The more time that passes, the more potent their abilities come. It's a race against the clock," he reported to the others, his coils shifting as he thought of his attack plan. Deav, like the other Reaverkings, had been among the people he sparred against to train. The man was well collected, careful and meticulous, but also reserved and incredibly patient. From Vamin, he had learned an appreciation for his resources, and to use them carefully, never allowing a single moment to go without thought.
From Deav, he had learned restraint. Destruction of your foes did not require you to haphazardly annihilate everything in your path - release only as much effort, and use only as many resources, as you must, for once they are defeated you still have much left to do. His lessons had been useful against Vamin - how would they do against Deav, now that he was truly trying to eliminate him?
Vanguard raised his trusted cannon. He, too, operated on absolutes, and first needed to figure out what sort of defenses and other unique abilities Deav possessed, and how he could use his own to work around them. The method may be a bit over the top, but, it has never ceased in getting results thus far.
"Today, we'll make Death choose between passing us over and falling to his own machinations."

Looked like she had a bit of fire to her this time, the stab to his hand striking as she backed off. Followed by the light from Genesis and the shot that Vanguard would unleash. He had stayed silent through it all, as he was working on something else at the time. With that out of the way, his eye gleamed to meet Vanguard's own, the dust settling as... he was unscathed? Any damage he had taken from the stab wound to the bladed strikes to the cannonfire, all gone from his visage.
"Pride? Pride is unnecessary for what I bring. All pride accomplishes is making the reality of it sting that much more. But I do not spurn pride, as pride comes before the fall. Resist all you like, death comes to us all one day."
All around them did something Faith and Vanguard recognize all too well, as his strength began to well. The trigger was the hound that was banished from existence so callously by the Overlord himself. Fifteen in total swung to and from, as if life hung in their balance the entire time. And his strength was magnified quite well, as he aimed at Faith first, unleashing several shots at the aged woman that made the first salvo paltry in comparison. He waved his arm next, the wind surging forth with a particularly deadly focus on Genesis himself as he plunged toward Faith next much swifter than before, another attempt at her life.
-
Vanguard knew this one too... not like she had much room to speak considering earlier, but it would come to a head soon and the goal was to take care of things here. So first Vamin and now Deav, was it? If Vamin was famine, then Deav would be... whoever named them had a poor taste in humor. They were clearly just named by... yeah, that was just great. Too bad she had to take them seriously anyway. If it wasn't so serious she would be making fun of the fact that their maker had a terrible sense of humor and that their names were just them lacking a little in pronounication. But she had the general idea of what it was they were dealing with then. Time was of the essence, so time would be best spent acting now rather than later. Of course Deav coming out alright was a bit of a problem too, so it meant he had something he did in the haze there. It was hard to discern, but it certainly looked like he had used his hand for it.
"Contact will be a bit difficult, then..."
The increased power shattered her defense this time, but more importantly were those scythes hovering about. They were rather ominous themselves, practically sapping her strength simply for not being keen on keeping them around. Hanging in the area like that was something else, but for now she'd see what they would do and focus on Deav first, changing her priorities. She stopped what she was preparing before, instead aiming her hand as lightning fired forth. The lightning was lacking in heat however, coiling around Deav right now.

*He wasn't sure why she shot him that look, as the hint was taken by Joker departing. That meant there was one less casualty today which was pretty rare when they were involved in a fight. Vanguard's eye would be the next tell that there was more to this than what it started as, the two sharing a history. They were working with their enemies, so as far as he was concerned Deav's reasons for the rest weren't too important. A prideless individual was someone that conversing with would be a tad difficult, but he wasn't here for conversation anyway. Unlike Joker, he had to take care of this one sooner rather than later. This time he moved forward between Faith and Deav as the attack was about to begin, his eyes flashing as space warped, decimating the wind and shots heades toward himself and Faith, pushing his own hand forward as the spatial force expanded to push back Deav.*
"Questions are for later. Let's finish staring down death again."
*Joker had managed something before he left, but it was quickly remedied as his cloak morphed once more. A crimson cape, part of it wrapped around the collar of his armor while the armor itself remained the same in color. Gaining a spike in several areas, being at the knees of both legs, the elbow of both gauntlets, and at both shoulders, a mask appeared over his mouth, while his eyes of violet remained on his prey. Symbols appeared on the chest of his armor, while black coiling around his fingers with a diamond crest on the back of both gauntlets. Those scythes were bothersome, but whether or not blowing them all away was a good idea was unlikely. Deav's surge of strength was from destruction happening in his wake, making their priority keeping each other out of the line of destruction now. How rare that happened to be even when they stood as a united front. He had a good understanding of this ability now, though the scythes were taxing all the same under normal circumstances. These weren't normal circumstances, however, as a black sphere formed in his outstretched hand, firing off three shots at Deav.*
*The ground illuminated briefly, but it was the prelude to the offensive he was about to begin now that the preparations were complete. His cape expanded outward as it aimed to cover Deav, a myriad of blows unleashed from within the void whether it be the void itself, the onyx blade of energy he formed, or the crimson crescents he unleashed with each motion. It returned to him as he finished darting to and from, holding out both hands this time as several blasts were fired, their intent different than the concentrated strikes he unleashed before now.*

Scar of Corruption The mark of those touched by an alien influence. Once per battle, the user may copy and use a skill from an opponent for one turn.

x1 Used, avoids Deceased.

The Origin: Overlord
The reason behind the moniker of Genesis. His cloak morphs as it becomes a crimson cape, part of it wrapped around the collar of his armor while the armor itself remains the same in color. Gaining a spike in several areas, being at the knees of both legs, the elbow of both gauntlets, and at both shoulders, a mask appears over his mouth, while his eyes of violet remain on his prey. The symbols of Fate remain the same, but are mirrored on the chest of his armor and the cords of the Black Diamond laced about each finger, the crest on the back of both hands of the gauntlets, signifying the unity between the pair.

One of the newcomers seemed to had powered up the Reaverking by mistake. Faith figured she should have shared some of her past knowledge to prevent that, but they were past that point now.
Suddenly the scythes formed around them and begun to swing around frantically -- she would have thought to pass her knowledge of "don't touch the scythes", but really that was sort of a given at this point.
" Ngh! "
Fifteen of them seemed a bit too much for Faith to deal with at first, tripping over herself as she moved to evade each swing, but with Mistair's help she made it through the onslaught albeit not unscathed. While the scythes at least didn't graze her body, they left some rips and tears in her clothing; her scarf in particular having shrunk a few sizes in length by the end of it all. She had to kneel to catch her breath here.
She looked worried now, Deav would see that in her eyes just before Genesis stood between them and blocked her expression from his view among other things headed her way. She took the moment to recover her poise and slightly reconsider her perspective of the "terrorist" that had just saved her.
She remembered him well from years passed despite them never having crossed paths. Genesis was never someone she expected she would fight alongside, much less potentially against. She knew him as the rival to her departed husband, David Pele, who would have felt a bit proud if he were here to see his trusted friend protecting his loved one in his stead. That trust was something that both David Pele and Jacob Rayner held for this navi, but one that Faith had still yet to build up herself toward him. This favor would go a long way for starting it develop, though.
" ... "
Some pain came with the reminder of the person she'd lost. It'd been a full year now since he'd been erased by Vinyl and ten years since she began this journey she was on. Dying here clearly wasn't an option, and fighting death itself wasn't a foe that she was afraid to back down from.
The pain fueled the determination that washed over her expression now as Genesis moved aside, no longer longer concealing her from view for her to lock eyes with her assailant once more.
" Resist all you like, death comes to us all one day. "
Genesis and Mistair made their counter-offensive as Faith rose back to her feet, the determination now fueling her movement forward as she began her own counter strike.
" Then you can lead the way! "
Her fire was an inferno now, the unrelenting flurry of steel that was her dagger swinging at every visible exposure was like a blaze of finesse and fury. Her self-inflicted wound from before was stressed by the strain of it all, the blood now trailing down the forearm, the hand, and along the edge of the dagger that it held, but she pressed on unstirred.
At the end of it all, black electricity enveloped her clean hand as she slammed it at her despised one, followed deftly by her dagger's thrust at his chest. If he had a heart, she wouldn't be satisfied until it was torn from him.

Vanguard.EXE
Vanguard watched as the additional flames from his strike melted away into Deav's hands, and then witnessed the intensity of the winds that Deav summoned. Watching it carefully, Vanguard carefully wreathed himself in flames, the heat of his life force breaking the powerful wind surging around him.
Then, the scythes descended. Vanguard watched as they swung, carefully analyzing their arc, his flame-wreathed body dancing around carefully. He was definitely not doing as well as he could have hoped, but, with the swinging scythes behind him, his fire still burning, Vanguard set his sights back on Deav.
The monstrosity seemed just as equipped to handle him as Vamin did, albeit in different ways. The potency of his own force would be for naught against him, as his usual means of attack would simply make Deav's force only stronger. He would not be able to rely on either his carefully executed onslaught or his massive spread of power.
He would have to get creative. If the monstrosity's power was based on how much effort they put behind their own attacks, or even their numbers that had fallen, then the task of attacking him at their full force without augmenting them for damage or dying seemed simple enough, if not daunting.
The flames on his body burned dark against the luminescence cascading over the field. He knew he did not have the necessary means to bypass the power of this field, but did what he knew how to do better than anyone else: Test his options. His coils lined up, some energy dispersing as he changed his priorities, some simply growing in power. A sword rose out of his flames, its blue, triangular edge shining in power. Reflected in its blade, Deav seemed to make the blade all the larger, as Vanguard came dashing forward to deliver his own assault.

He should have known Genesis would repel him as such, getting his footing soon enough as he prepared for his offense with his own evasion in mind. It was a trait that he had shown much of in the encounter with Faith before: his agility. As their combined assault fell upon him did he move to and from, weaving through their attacks left and right as only a few managed to catch the tail end of their mark here and there. From the shots and strikes of Genesis, to the frigid lightning of Mistair landing head on. It set him up for the fiery passion of Faith, but the bloody blade she held fell shy of its mark as he weaved quicker than she did. The lightning had met its mark along with the charge and drain after, but just in enough time to evade the strikes from Vanguard that followed them. Without a waste of breath he was already beginning his counter-offensive, aiming the cannon he held and unleashing nine devastating shots from it at Vanguard, Faith, and Mistair alike as the set of five were launched at Genesis this time instead, followed by the deathly winds roaring loudly and blasting against them, particularly fiercely against Faith as the touch of death felt like it crawled down her back from earlier, directing his next attempt at the Overlord himself who had stood between his first mark. Two more times at bat he felt would give him his desired result here, which meant it would be time to go in earnest, a chill descending upon the area for his next gambit.
-
He was certainly more agile than Vamin, moving to and from. Vamin mostly used his size to contend with their blows, the aura strengthening and appearing around Faith and herself this time as she knew Vanguard was fine with taking care of himself for this level of offense. Plus while it may have been part of her own doing, she didn't imagine that she was good at staying mobile while leaking blood everywhere. She was probably conditioned to work with it, but better safe than sorry. The chill in the air on the other hand hinted at something else being on its way, likely his own way to strike back at them. So she kept her offense simple this time, clenching her hand as several bolts fell from above and down upon Deav's vicinity, nothing special about it at the time.

Vanguard.EXE
Deav was fast. The reaverking relied on the toll of death to give him more strength, however, and so long as they remained crafty and careful, they wouldn't have to worry about him getting too overwhelming. He skirted just beyond the edge of his blade when Vanguard moved to slice him down, the darklight warrior scowling as he darted by.
Still, this gave him some good information. Unless the reaverking had more going on, it was yet another case of incredibly basic defensive maneuvers that he could simply plow through in order to destroy him; not to mention the efficacy of his own offensive measures against basic defenses such as these.
Mistair seemed focused on ensuring that their other, less powerful members stayed alive. Vanguard appreciated the notion, as he had the same thoughts as she did. Still, he maneuvered his way around the bolts of energy fired from Deav's own cannon, feeling like it was some sort of cold irony that his own was next to useless. Reducing his form down into the simple particles that make him up, Vanguard maneuvered across the grassy fields as a fiery, vaguely humanoid shape at impressive speeds.
Raising his cannon, Vanguard aligns a set of chips in order to make use of the large number of scythes that Deav had swinging around him. The reticles over his vision dotted over the swinging scythes, and Vanguard raised his cannon. An additional barrel appeared along the edges of the already existing barrel, one at a time, until thirty barrels, just as large as the central one, was raised and leveled at Deav. Funneling his natural flames into his new monstrosity, Vanguard let loose, pelting bullets down the line at Deav.
Dropping his cannon, Vanguard first raised his darklight verniers and fashioned a lance from his life essence, charging through the swinging blades in order to strike Deav with the weapon. Feeling the temperature fall and the pressure increase, he could only guess what the reaverking was preparing; but he had every intention of stopping it. Then, he fell back a few spaces in order to shift the energies coming off of him. His lance shifted and gave way to a sword. The darklight energy rising around him spiraled into a reticle just in front of the sword, one of his chips rising out of his verniers and scattering into the circle within it.
"There are more ways to modify your assault than making it include more force," Vanguard sneered, dashing the distance once again as he slashed his sword against Deav. As the blade passed through the reticle, the blade fractured into multiple small pieces. An ensemble of blades rose up around Vanguard, and slashed out against Deav in tandem.

His speed was even greater than expected. Once again, she would have been brought down by his reprisal had Mistair not offered her assistance -- an aura brimming to life around Faith as Deav's attacks had collided with her. Invigorated once more, she launched forward and boasted her own speed to contend with his other attacks.
She cut each evasion as close as she could to find her opportunity, in particular the touch of death reaching toward her coming uncomfortable close to connecting, but such was necessary for her opening to provide itself. Not missing a beat, the chilled air seemed to envelope her dagger like ice as she fought back with even more zest and tenacity than before
" ... "
This was her last resort now -- her dagger reshaping itself into the cursed scythe that Deav had possessed her with in the past, a fitting end to their fight, either by his demise or by her strength expiring here and now.
She'd leave no room to repeat past mistakes though: All of her strength was behind the blow, the scythe itself shattering upon either contact with his body or contact with the ground where he stood if she'd missed. All cards were on the table with her own gambit, now was just a matter of whether hers would be the one to pay off or Deav's.

*Deav took an evasive stance this time and also showed off more force to his attacks, as well as more frequently at that. His own defensive options remained the same, driving back the Reaverking as he narrowed his eyes only slightly. He probably didn't have it all figured out, but he had a general idea of what this was about. He was fine with how things were going, but the pace of the battle was likely to change sooner rather than later. Vanguard adjusted his offense after what he was clued in on, Mistair had added to it and Faith had put it all on the line. Now just came following up what they had done to clean him dry. His offense wasn't as varied to the others who changed it up right now, repeating the song and dance of before. Or at least it seemed that way when he let loose the crescents and light, but the terrain spiked up to try and tear into Deav along with it.*

Looked like they had finally taken the clue from how one of them adjusted their attacks right away. And yet he held a sneer on his face instead as lightning crashed down, the shots from Vanguard raining down on him, though slightly miscalculated compared to the number of scythes and the number of shots fired. On the other hand, Vanguard noticed it when he struck him with the lance, a shift in what he could see from Deav. While the goal with Vamin had been to prevent what was coming... Deav's agenda was instead to pressure him into doing exactly what he had just then. The multitude of slashes seemed to bring the Reaverking down to his knees... but not out just yet. His sneer had yet to fade.
"Not bad... but a touch too delicate in the end."
He was proficient in skirting the edge of the very thing he embodied. And it was here that he was on the move again, moving around Faith's own barrage until at last the scythe struck him low, as if karma came full circle. But the sneer he held stayed strong, his body mending the damage he had taken from the salvo earlier. Then it was about time to get started, weaving through Genesis' onslaught as well as he took the center stage among the team of four, holding his hand upward. And from it was the voracious wind, engulfing the forest and decimating it all around them with the winds of death as they withered and died or were torn apart. The touch of death was particularly potent to Vanguard and Genesis, his sneer fading around this point.
-
Looked like they were driving him into the corner at least, as he had reached the edge given his movements and shape after it started. And then it happened, the surge in strength that he obtained from a combination of the scythe and the lance from Faith and Vanguard respectively, the wind churning forth to envelop everything. She had to raise the upper limit of those defenses that she had up as is, taking the wind in stride as a result and managing to support the final payoff that Faith also let loose.

*Looked like the stakes were being raised finally. When the wind surged out it was numerous and likely meant to overwhelm all of them, rather easily at that. But he held out his hand, another blade of raw energy forming as instead he lunged into the whirlwind of death as the crimson aura started to coat him and the obsidian energy blade. Between his sword and skills, he plowed through the whirling dervish of demise and destruction. And to any other onlooker it may have appeared that he had gone and sacrificed himself to the herald of death's oppression. But a mist was seen soon enough at the eye of this storm, the Onyx Overlord having made his way to his mark. He had seen all that he felt like seeing, so it was about time to wrap this up. And it was the perfect time to do so from his point of view.*
"For someone keen on death's inevitability, you sure are putting it off yourself, aren't you?"
*The limits were off then, the void engulfing the center as he vanished, dashing past Deav as the onslaught was magnified. Each with the intention of concluding this confrontation once and for all. The obsidian was steadily coated in crimson as the barrage blasted outward, eventually the sphere of darkness exploding as Genesis touched down from his assault, standing still in the madness of the gales surrounding them. It was rather obnoxious in the end, but it was worth doing to stand face to face with death incarnate and take care of things. It was ultimately an effort put forth by all of them.*

Faith was out of tricks now, she dropped to a knee as the stress on her body finally caught up to her, grasping the wounded arm now and realizing she didn't have the strength to contend with what came next.
Mistair looked out for her once more though, the Aura from before now growing much brighter and shielding her from the violent winds emanating outward from the empowered Reaverking, keeping her from being blown away by his technique. Fortunately, he turned focus to Vanguard and Genesis next as Faith remained stiffly knelt in exhaustion.
Genesis moved forward to execute a most decisive series of strikes -- using what little she had to offer now, Faith pitched in as best she could in her current condition. Her last resort had already been used, so at this point it was just throwing whatever else she had lying around at the wall and hoping that it'd stick.
In particular: her stock of battle chips. And, indeed, throw them she did. The first bursting into a translucent-purple field around Deav, threatening to punish him if he'd try to recover from Genesis' assault. The next: her dark thunder from before. The last: inspiration from Vanguard, a series of explosions burst out from the chip as it was airborne, directly related to the number of scythes still hovering about.
The rest was primarily in the hands of Genesis, Vanguard, and Mistair while Faith held her position to recover some of her stamina that she had fully spent just moments ago; her flame not yet scuffed out, but dwindling in the wind for now.

Vanguard.EXE
His strikes landed, but, a much more sinister fate seemed to be in store for them. As the strike from Faith's scythe struck Deav, he seemed revitalized rather than struck down. Grimacing, Vanguard lept back, as the tumultuous wind came crashing over the battlefield from behind Deav. The shadow of death raced from all sides, uprooting trees and sending debris flying, and Vanguard could do not but hold up his hands, release a blaze of his inner inferno, and lower himself to one knee in order to wade the storm.
Reduced in strength, his flames desperately clung to the air around him, seeking for signs of life. Vanguard rose from his position on the ground, slowly, heaving heavily, and suddenly came face to face with Deav, who had rushed towards him, hands outstretched. Snarling, Vanguard dipped backwards, flaring up his defenses as a wall of flame rose around his being. Barely avoiding Deav's assault, Vanguard carefully teetered along the edge of a recently fallen tree, watching at Genesis and Mistair's own efforts to abate the sudden carnage. This was a very rapid, very wild release of power on Deav's part, all from a single mistake. Something hidden behind the curtain, just like Vamin had hidden. Vanguard had successfully revealed it much earlier the first time, but, that did not stand to help them in this situation.
What he needed were results now. Vanguard sneered, feeling the life force of his flames rising up and around him. His senses heightened, his muscles tightened and the adrenaline of the fight pumping, Vanguard rose to his full height, his flickering fires suddenly growing in intensity and size.
Dashing forward, Vanguard raised his fist, feeling his flames burst up within his body. He had to hold back his charge, for fear of Deav's own use of it against him. Clenching his fist, pounded his flames against Deav's body, pointedly avoiding the reticles on him. Growling, Vanguard continued onward, jumping back as he summoned a familiar sphere of darkness all around him. A number of purple blades exuded from his body as he moved, spiraling in place into a typhoon of darkswords, crashing his body against Deav time and time again, until, finally, he spun out of his mayhem of blades, wielding a much larger sword in his hand. Dashing forward at blinding speeds, Vanguard slashed through Deav, looking to cut him down piece for piece.
